The property is very nice, and decorated in a nautical theme. The layout is a bit odd, since one of the main bedrooms sits in the middle of the house, so it’s a pass through area. There are separate outside doors though. We had a few minor issues, but the property manager handled them promptly. The view is beautiful, and the house is not damp because it’s not right on the lake. The house is a bit dated, and could use a coat of paint. Overall we had a great stay.

The view of the mountains and Lake Chaplain was stunning. Our family settled in comfortably for a week's stay. We enjoyed the large table in the dining area, which was the center point for family gatherings. Plenty of space on the back deck for the children to play. Beautiful bathrooms and plenty of towels. We also took advantage of the beach passes provided.
The host did his best to address a few issues that included a broken dishwasher, an exterior door that did not close and an un-mowed lawn. All were addressed by the time we left.

Our family, including children and adults, had trouble finding a property on short notice for our desired summer get together on the Champlain Islands. This place seemed like a good deal but when we arrived we discovered it had many quirks. If you only need basic amenities and don't mind oddities, it might work for you. The washer/dryer and beach gear were useful, and the view was lovely. The kitchens were well appointed.
However, the property was not a "resort with hotel quality amenities" as described. Overflowing trash and a broken screen door greeted us. The layout was strange—the largest bedroom was located between two living areas so privacy was problematic. The BBQ didn't work, and despite contacting the owner, no repairs were made during our 5-day stay. The main dishwasher was also in disrepair when we arrived and was not repaired while there. The broken back door's glass was held by duck tape, deck parts were rotting, and a railing loose. The kitchen sink's hot water came out of the cold tap. Beds were not supportive.
The owner did offer us a free meal at a local restaurant as recompense for the appliances disrepair but we declined because we had already purchased ample food for our intended bbq (which we had very much looked forward to as central to the joys of our stay.) No contact info was provided for concierge, private chef, or massage as mentioned in guide. In summary the property is well priced for a large family but it was not as advertised.

We are an extended family - 4 generations-who travel together yearly for the sole purpose of all being in one place for a full week. This was a perfect location for this year’s trip. Overall, we loved the house; however, there were a few minor problems that need to be addressed. Our impression was that the owner is not onsite often so minor repairs go unnoticed unless reported. When contacted, the owner responded immediately and did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable and safe. As a family who cooks every meal in the home, we loved the fully stocked kitchen. The washer/dryer was also a welcome addition! A perfect place for our family to enjoy some much anticipated time together, I would highly recommend this property.

The view was amazing and the amenities plentiful for the 9 days we were there. The house is located near restaurants, a brewery and a cool place called “the rest stop” that’s literally down the road. Burlington is a short 30 minute drive as is Hannaford’s (full grocery store). We were there when it was unusually hot but the 3 AC units kept the house nice and cool!! We had a great time and will definitely be back!!

We had the opportunity to visit Vermont “off season”/late Fall and had a first-rate experience. This property offered a great location, great views and a great value. Accommodations were spacious yet cozy for our family. We were close to Burlington and accomplished our apartment hunting objective, and also close enough for sightseeing in Montpelier and a day trip to beautiful Montreal (bring your passports!). Ilmar was a generous and flexible host, graciously allowing us to extend our stay beyond the original booking dates and reminding us to take advantage of the Blue Paddle Bistro gift card (delicious!) and ECHO museum pass (next time!). Highly recommend this unique island property!

Our family visited Vermont for a family reunion. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return again soon.

We really enjoyed our short stay. Other guest comments are helpful so read those but I would add that the home was very clean and the host was flexible and thoughtful. We would stay again and recommend this location to everyone!

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was well furnished. There is a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay, the interesting configuration was ideal for our family. Nice kitchen and dining area for the 6 of us to gather and yet everyone had privacy if they so desired. We were impressed with the stocked kitchens (2) and bathroom supplies. Quick response from the property owner regarding the grill, quite obvious our happiness was his top priority! Thank you, I hope we have the opportunity to return!

11 of us (5 kids under six years, and 6 adults) stayed for a week in August of 2023. The house was wonderful and well stocked. Plenty of beds, but the rooms were smaller than they appeared in the listing. The location is great for heading out with bikes, and has a good amount of parking. Ilmar was great to communicate with about any issues, which we had none. The only thing we did not say to him, which wasn’t that big a deal, was that we would have liked to have had a broom or vacuum to be able to clean up the floors after days of us walking in and out with grass clippings and small pebbles from driveway. We bought our own broom and that worked great. All in all, we had a very nice time and we’d go back. Oh, and another great thing is the water pressure and water, there, are excellent! Showers were really strong, and having the double washers and dryers are a nice bonus too!

We had 4 generations stay at Light House Estates. The home was well equipped, and the view of the lake was exceptional.

First, Ilmar is a pleasant and upfront person, who called us at various points during our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. The property is very thoughtfully appointed with what you would most need. The one inconvenience is that one of the “Master” type rooms is a thoroughfare at the intersection of the two wings of the property. So if this is your room, expect some incursions on your privacy, although you are able to lock the doors, which would force other guests to go around by way of the porch to get to the main kitchen and living room.

Quirky layout with plenty of l bedrooms and bathrooms for all and two comfy living areas. Great view of the bay from the deck. Close to the main road and lots of activities - creemees, restaurants, beaches, etc. one of the best appointed houses I've stayed at - kitchen utensils and appliances, bathrooms, beach towels, chairs and bags, tons of outlets for all the electronics. Lovely fan light combo that I may need for home. Appreciated all the info from the host! Hope to be back.

Gorgeous, private setting, conveniently located to enjoy South Hero and the Champlain Islands and an easy drive to downtown Burlington. The home is nicely decorated, extremely clean, and very well equipped including toiletries, umbrellas, beach towels, beach chairs and even beach bags! The main kitchen was large, with a tremendous assortment of kitchenware, silverware, serving platters and cups/glasses. The seaside decor and furnishings are colorful and comfortable.
As some have pointed out, the home’s layout is a bit awkward, with the master bedroom in between two separate living suites, but the separation affords nice privacy for the suites. In the smaller suite, the two bedrooms are tight, but the others are spacious and the main living area is very comfortable and spacious. While each bedroom has a ceiling fan, the air conditioners are in the living areas so we had to keep the bedroom doors open, which limits your privacy. A quieter mini-split system would be a welcome upgrade for hot summer days and nights.
The owner was accessible and responsive throughout. We took advantage of the free greens fees at Alburg Links - a wide open course well worth the scenic drive, with an onsite brewery with wood-fired pizza worth the visit even if you don’t play golf. Mostly, after spending days out and around, we enjoyed playing games on the lawn (we brought a corn-hole set) and sitting on the deck for spectacular sunsets. Overall, the setting and home are exemplary.

A great property for all ages with close access to beach, hiking trails and outdoor adventures.
The house had a beautiful view of Lake Champlain and the grounds, as well as the house, were well maintained. Also, close to Canada, which was a plus.
Would highly recommend this property.

This is a great place. Beautiful view, way more room than expected. We took advantage of the access to the echo museum. Great communication with owner

We loved staying at this property! The view is great and the house was more than ample for our family of 5 (3 kids 4, 7, 9). The house has a fun/quirky layout that worked very well for us. Very convenient to Burlington and a short, scenic drive to Waterbury and Stowe.
Communication with Ilmar was top notch all the way through; he made himself available at all time before and during our stay. You get several amenities/gift cards with your rental to several businesses/breweries/restaurants on Grand Isle and Burlington which is a huge plus. (Saved us a bunch on a trip to the ECHO Center)
Thanks for everything!!

What a delight to stay in the beauty of South Hero and enjoy the serenity and splendor of the Lake Champlain Islands! We booked this location to celebrate my daughter's graduation from UVM, but we wanted to avoid the chaos of Burlington and have space to enjoy family time. Only 25 minutes north of Burly, the property is perfect for an extended family, and the layout provides privacy for individuals and groups. Ilmar is an outstanding host, and the next time we're in the area we hope to stay here again.

This rental is perfect for a large family who need privacy. My husband, 10 year old and 7 month old stayed here with his parents, sister, her husband and two young kids. I was worried about the baby waking everyone up in the night but to my surprise there was a separate section to the house with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and its own little kitchen. It was perfect! The house was so clean and has breathtaking views! We will be back!

Perfect spot for family to stay for Saint Michael’s graduation weekend. All one level so no stairs for grandparents to navigate. Separate living areas allowed for privacy. Spectacular views of Lake Champlain. Home was very clean and well-stocked. Enjoyed gathering around the large table at breakfast and in the evening. Enjoyed a fabulous dinner out at The Blue Paddle just down the road (owner left gift certificates). Excellent communication with the owner. I would highly recommend staying here.

Love Vermont and being on Lake Champlain was great. That being said, the views from the deck were phenomenal. A rainbow, hot air balloon & spectacular sun rises and sunsets!!

The house is on top of a hill that overlooks the lake. Wonderful view from the deck and ample seating. The quarters inside were cozy. But when you're there, you're not going to be staying inside much. We would come back.

My family’s trip to South Hero exceeded our expectation more than I could possibly imagine due to Ilmar’s help and this lovely lighthouse theme house. He answered all our questions and had plenty of suggestions to enhance our visit. The rental felt like home away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking meals and the decor was well coordinated. My father woke up every morning to catch the beautiful sunrises off the porch, my mother found working from the house’s office space a treat, and everyone enjoyed their morning cup of coffee on the porch. Additionally, the backyard has plenty of space to play frisbee and various outdoor games. Whether a small party of 2 or a large family gathering, this rental is perfect. It is clear that years of love and care have gone into making this place special. Additionally, the location can’t be beat! South Hero is a special island packed with beaches, places to bike, wineries, farmers markets, and tasty restaurants. We are so glad we found this rental and will surely be back.

Lighthouse Estates in South Hero, only minutes from Lake Champlain and short drive from Burlington was perfect for our group of six. My sisters and my brother live in different areas of the country. As a result over the last ten years we have made an effort to vacation together. The South Hero House was perfect for our group.
The house was extremely clean, everything was in working order. The kitchen facilities were very well equipped, climate control was good, beds were very comfortable, the living room was adequate for 8 people. The location was very scenic.

The house was lovely and the perfect spot for spectacular sunrises. It is convenient to shopping and especially to all the activities our family loves to do together. You will find amazing kayaking on Lake Champlain, beautiful bike rides on trails and on the Causeway, along with scenic walks along the stretch of Lake Champlain. We even took a ride to the Canadian border since we were so close. Great getaway that we plan on doing again.

Unique mixture of gathering spaces and separate rooms and areas for toddlers and babies sleeping with their different schedules. The multiple full baths worked great for our big group. Nice main kitchen/open great-room area for large gathering, and a second kitchen(ette) both equipped with everything needed for preparation and cleanup. Deck and back lawn with great views and for kiddie play. Many recreation options, biking, boating, beaches, birding, vineyards within 5 minutes away, and many other attractions only a short drive. The Echo/Leahy Science Center, free passes included, had plenty of hands-on activities and displays for the kids, very young included. Our 10 adults, and 3 under 3yo had a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful time at Lighthouse Estates..while the layout of the house is curious, our group was happy abd found everything we needed for our relaxing vacation. Thank you!!

The owner was very proactive making sure we were comfortable and responded quickly to questions . He allowed us to stay a few extra hours to check out which was helpful. One of the bedrooms was very small for adults. I would also have liked a port-a-crib; we have friends who live near by that lent us one but not everyone does. Otherwise the accommodations were good.

Lovely Home
My family and I went to Vermont for a family reunion. The first thing I noticed about the house when we walked in was how clean it is! The view from the deck is spectacular. The host is so amazing. He called us the day we were to check in to remind us of all the amenities and and the extra perks that came with the house. We had one very rainy day so we took advantage of the free pass that they supplied to the aquarium in Burlington. The kids loved how interactive it is!
Overall it was a great experience and we would love to go back again!

South Hero Family Gathering
We enjoyed a lovely family get together at Lighthouse. The rooms were pleasantly decorated with a nautical theme. The house is divided with two complete units and joined by a walk through bedroom. This arrangement worked out well for our family with young children using the main section, grandparents, aunts and uncles in the rest of the house. This enabled us to have privacy as well as family time. The view of the lake is amazing. We watched seaplanes take off and land and relaxed just looking at the water. Our host was easy to contact and always helpful.

Family Reunion
My family rented this property for the week to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. The property was perfectly accommodating to spend a week together to enjoying each other’s company. The house was great! The deck was amazing to watch sunrises and sunsets and just to hang out and tell stories. The amenities were so good! We took rides on the bike path, went golfing, swimming at local beach and a had a great time at the concert on the winery Thursday night. We can’t wait to book this house again!
