DESCRIPTION:
Fully furnished, luxurious bungalow in the upscale Fairmount Hills neighborhood of Salem, Oregon. The bungalow features the charm and character of the 1940s architecture with original hardwood floors, a cozy fireplace, arched doorways and alcoves, built- in cabinets and French doors. The quaint and beautiful historic bungalow is fully appointed with all of the conveniences of a finely furnished and decorated designer home. It has lots of natural sunlight with a spacious floor plan that flows from room to room. There is one bedroom downstairs and another bedroom upstairs that can be used as a guest room, office space, reading nook or quiet retreat. An extensive renovation of the bungalow was recently completed, which included refinished hardwood floors, interior and exterior paint, designer light fixtures throughout, new windows, new crystal doorknobs, stainless steel appliances, and a new heating / air conditioning unit. The interior design was inspired by a mix of Old Hollywood Glam, and French Country Decor. It is a truly beautiful, inspiring and peaceful place to rest and relax after a long day of work or fun!
The Fairmount Hills neighborhood is located on the southern tip of downtown Salem. The upscale neighborhood features well maintained historic homes with an incredible variety of architectural styles. Based on its proximity to downtown, Bush Park, Minto-Brown Island, the Riverfront Park, and the Oregon State Capitol, and Willamette University, the Fairmount Hills neighborhood is a highly desirable place to live, stay, relax and play. Fairmount Hills is also home to the Governor's Mansion, Mahonia Hall, which is a half mile from my bungalow. With all of its convenience, natural beauty and historic charm, Fairmount Hills truly offers a premier location and experience.
I completed the renovation of this fantastic, historic bungalow last year but have had it rented out as an exclusive corporate rental. Now I'm offering it for the first time as a vacation rental on VRBO. My partner and I also have an established vacation rental in McMinnville with 5 star reviews so if you would like to see our ratings and feedback for that property, please let me know.
Please also take the time to read my comments about the upscale, historic Fairmount Hills Bungalow. This bungalow is truly a gem and it's location is nothing short of superb!
No smoking or pets allowed. This property is not suitable for small children.

I was in Salem for my 50th high school reunion and this spot was perfect! I had a friend staying with me for a few nights and the kitchen set up was perfect for cooking, dining and games. We were able to walk to the park, downtown, dinner and my old school. The decorating is very retro, thoughtful and cool. I would definitely stay here again or at any property these people have.

My daughter and I were very comfortable here for a few nights before she moved in at Willamette U. Convenient location and nice neighborhood setting. Be prepared for a vintage 1940's style that includes a steep staircase and small bathroom.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was well stocked with kitchen and bath supplies, and it was nicely decorated. It's well situated in the city as grocery, dinning, pubs and many stores for securing needed supplies are close by.

I so enjoyed my stay at this well-renovated vintage bungalow. The bed was heavenly, the kitchen well-stocked, everything was spic and span, and the neighborhood felt very safe and was great for walks. Everything within and nearby to Salem was easily reachable. Communication was friendly and prompt. Everything you need and nothing you don't!

This is probably the cutest and cleanest Vrbo I have ever stayed at! Decorated beautifully, lots of original character while still be completely updated. Neighborhood is very quiet yet super close to everything. Perfect for a couple and a single person would feel very safe at this location.
The little upstairs bedroom would be soooo loved by a child. But it is plenty roomy for an adult.
This will be at the top of our list for future stays in Salem!

Absolutely loved our stay at the VRBO property in Salem's Fairmont neighborhood! The location near downtown was perfect for exploring, and the cozy space was ideal for our getaway for two. Clean, comfortable, and convenient - we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

What a great bungalow in Salem. We stayed for 3 nights and used this as a hub for our stay in Oregon. Easy to get to the wineries we visited and Shreiner’s Iris gardens (beautiful). Warm and inviting and had everything we needed when we arrived! You can clearly tell that our host loves her home and wants to make it enjoyable and entertaining for others! We are from Florida and if we come back this way again, we would definitely pick one of her properties!

We enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were perfect for our needs. We had a great time visiting with friends in the Salem Area. The home is on a quiet street in South Salem, with quick access to Salem proper and freeway access.
Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one. We will be back!

Loved the location, near a beautiful park and downtown historic Salem. Owners recommendations were appreciated. Only criticism is the state of the front and back yard. Will stay there again.

My son and I had a wonderful stay at this property when we came for Willamette’s admitted student weekend. The property was as advertised and close to everything we needed!

The house and area were nice. Check in was good and the host answered her phone and texts. The only issue we had was after we woke up (after our first night) there were a ton of ants in the living room. They were on the rugs and wall. I contacted the host and said we wanted to leave and she said she would send the house cleaner over and said “there were no ants there yesterday.”The upstairs bedroom was also very warm (in July) as the window AC unit is very small for the space. I would not recommend sleeping in that room in the summer. Finally, I was not able to take out the trash bc the outside trash can was so full- we were also not able to do the towels/laundry as requested by the host because we spent all morning making sure there were no ants in our luggage, bags, etc. I was also disappointed the host would not refund us for the night we left, due to the ants. Overall, it was a lovely home and nice host but for the situation with the ants and the hot upstairs bedroom.

We enjoyed our stay at this house in Salem. It's convenient to shopping and tourists sites by walking or car to anywhere you'd want to go.The neighborhood is quiet and full of interesting properties (including the governor's house!). I hope the next project for the owners is the backyard -- it could use a little attention.

Our Autumn Stay in Salem
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this nicely renovated bungalow property located in Salem, Oregon. Most of our time was spent touring the local region but whenever we returned it was a nice feeling to have our own little home to return to each day. It is evident that the community in this area does take pride in maintaining their properties and promoting the overall small town charm of the area. We would stay here again.
