House was as advertised, the best party of the stay was the communication with the hosts, any time we had questions they were answered. I would recommend this location to my friends & family. It was great

Great place!
This house has everything we needed for a great family ski weekend. Everything was easy and we enjoyed our stay. Very clean and close to the mountain.

Lovely winter getaway
Maggie's home at everything we needed, and instructions were very clear on what wouldn't be supplied so we were prepared. The wood furnace and fireplace were really nice additions and kept us cozy all weekend, especially since we were there in sub zero temps! Kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfortable. Loved the close proximity to town and supplies, and only 20 minutes to Mount Snow.

Well equipped Stay
Nicely set up home with lots of room on multiple floors. Well equipped kitchen - I cooked a main meal to bring to a dinner for 20+ people without an issue. Heat worked well and beds were comfy.

Perfect ski vacation
The place was clean and three floors gave us the room for all of us to enjoy ourselves and each other. Maggie was fantastic in responding to my questions. Heating was a bit confusing at first but we figured it out after a day. Location was close to everything we needed for the ski vacation.

Lovely property at a great location for a summer/fall getaway
Great location with a lot of room in the property, very functional kitchen and great spaces for gathering upstairs and down - very happy with the rental.

Adding to wonderful family memories!
Great vacation home for relaxed family stay. We were sorry we only had 3 nights there. Many activities in area for our young grandchildren, our children and the two of us. Hiked to the fire tower (and climbed the tower) at Molly Stark State Park, spent time at the "beach", and unique mini golf experience under cover. Every family member asked when we could next return.

Great Stay
Great stay at the property. The house could have been cleaner but should have expected this with the "No sheets / towels provided" disclaimer. A true Vermont cabin. All in all, the house is great if you are trying to get out for a ski weekend or couples retreat. Really enjoyed it!

Lovely NYE ski trip!
We were looking for somewhere to spend NYE and be able to ski, this was the perfect place! House fit us comfortably, and beds were very comfortable! About a 15 minute drive to mount snow and close to local bars and brewery’s. Only complaints would be the bedrooms had no heat and we would make up freezing in the morning, and the wood for the fireplace burned fast and was expensive. Besides that a perfect trip and would definitely book again!

Great amount of space, but definitely feeling its age
The best features of the house are its outside deck with spectacular views of mountains and hummingbirds, enough space for seven easily, an owner who was easy to reach, great wood stove, and great location for hiking nearby.
Things to know. It’s not a brand new house, only used part of the year, with all the inherent issues that go along with that. (Photos on the site are from about ten years ago.) Some things definitely need updating/improvement. Some of the furniture has large tears in it, the sofa bed was broken when we arrived, a sliding door was added but not completely finished so molding is in the living room rather than around the door frame. There is a credenza that needs some care and one of the showers needs repair. At this point in the summer, some cooking utensils seem to have either walked away or been broken and need to be replaced. Curtains in the third floor bedroom would help for folks who don’t want to rise with the sun.
Also, it is a full mile’s walk to get from the house to the private beach on the lake although the description says 1/2 mile. The lake itself is small. If you are looking to be on a lake where you can paddle, this isn’t really it.

family ski house
cozy family house. It could be updated with new comforters, pillows, etc. I would be nice to not have to bring sheets for everyone, given that we pay a cleaning fee. Location is great for skiing.

Great family fun
If you're looking for a comfortable place to relax with friends and family this is it. Easy access off the main roads, great views, sledding right outside are a few things that stood out.
We had a group from ages 40-1 and everyone enjoyed themselves. Toys and games for the young kids, Netflix for tv time, and the ping pong table were highlights of the house itself.
Don't rent this house if you're expecting a pricey 5 star hotel luxury spa experience but for the price this is a great place. Thanks Maggie.

Great location, plenty of room
A group of 12 of us (8 adults and 4 kids under the age of 7) stayed here May 2012. The location is great, right off of rt. 9 about 5 minutes from downtown Wilmington and close to Mt Snow. We had plenty of room for the whole party and were able to spread out on the three different levels, including the deck which has a fantastic view of Mt Snow.
The loft has a good selection of toys for little ones, puzzles, games etc. No problems with using the wifi and it was definitely used by most of the adults via smartphones and ipads throughout the weekend.
The only item I would mention if you have children is that the yard is very steep so would not recommend having them play outside in the backyard. This was no problem for us, the kids in our group played in the loft and on the deck and had plenty of space to run around.
We did go out on Fri night to the Mapleleaf Brewery in downtown Wilimington and were not impressed with the service (very slow). I would be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was the Tough Mudder weekend, but we were there when the place was only half full and it still took 15 minutes to get our first drink order of only 2 drinks. And it only got worse from there. Food was ok, beer selection likewise. We cooked at the house rest of the weekend and had plenty of pots/pans etc for everything we cooked.

Great House - Fabulous Weekend
My husband and I rented this house with a group of friends for a short ski weekend. It is a lovely home and was perfect for our group. The pictures definitely do not do it justice. Most of us have small children, and the house was even stocked with toys. Perfect for our weekend getaway - lots of natural warmth with the wood burning stove and fireplace downstairs. There are plenty of sheets, towels and pillows as well as many kitchen tools for easy cooking. We also had a serious ping-pong competition and had a blast!

Could have been better!!!
We had a great time except for snow conditions being really bad. House was very clean. Directions to home were a bit confusing but we found it. House needs more than 1 TV. currently only has 1 TV in LR but none in the game room or any of the bedrooms. House all needs better detail of bed lay out. Approx 12miles to Mount Snow, which is not what the description said either. House was nice, but def. not what we expected or as described on website.

Perfect escape!
We had a wonderful time staying at this house! We had 10 adults (5 couples) and still had plenty of privacy and comfort. The house has a relaxing quality and was the perfect getaway for a skiing/snowboarding weekend. And the wood-burning stove was so warm and comforting. It was also nice that the grocery store was near by, because we spent a lot of time in the kitchen as well - cooking and baking. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it for a relaxing vacation.

Great ski house!
My group and I had a great time staying at this home. It was very clean and well maintained. The house is close to Mt. Snow, restaurants, shops and the grocery store, making it a very convenient location. We had a group of 10 and there was plenty of room for everyone. Maggie and Alex were very helpful, providing recommendations of things to do in the area. We will definitely return!

Great House - Pictures don't do it justice
My family (6 adults) rented this house for Christmas 2010. Everything was wonderful, the location is very easy to get to and close to town. The house itself is just fantastic, the pictures really don't do it justice. It is spacious, comfortable, and bright. All the windows/glass doors let lots of light in and the wood stove in the main living area makes it very cozy! The owners were very responsive to any questions that we had prior to our stay and it was made very clear that we could contact them with any problems once we were at the house, although we had no need to. Even though we had only 6 adults, there is definitely plenty of space for more people to stay here comfortably. We very much enjoyed the ping pong, large TV, and Wifi! The ipod dock was also very handy for our Christmas music! The only minor downside was the kitchen appliances and utensils. We did lots of cooking and baking for the holiday since all restaurants were closed and it would have been useful to have some more pans and appliances, but we made do. We will definitely be staying here again! Thank you so much!

Everything you'll need for a great weekend
The house is beautiful, very cozy and very spacious with 3 floors and plenty of sleeping room. It's extremely clean, and has all the amenities you'll need: internet, lots of towels, sheets, blankets, heaters in every room, laundry machines, dish washer, entertainment after a day on the slopes etc. The kitchen is very well stocked, bathrooms are clean/new. Plenty of hot water and heat. This is by far the most accommodating home we've ever stayed at!
The owners Maggie and Alex are also VERY helpful and responsive. They're easily reached by phone if you have any questions and they really take care of anyone who rents this house. My party came in the middle of a snowstorm and ran into some car troubles; the owners immediately provided us with a number to call to plow the roads and sent us information about nearby services. They really care about this house and make sure their renters enjoy their stay. The neighborhood is very friendly-- everyone helps each other out (one of the neighbors came out to help us with our car troubles!)
The house is very close to Mount Snow, no more than a 20 min drive. Plenty of grocery stores on the way to/from the mountain. The home isnt difficult to find. You'll manage just fine without a GPS. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great stress free stay near Mount Snow.
Thanks Maggie and Alex!

Great times year round
I've rented Spring Lake Escape twice - once in the fall and once during ski season - and plan to return. It's truly a year round escape. The house is very comfortable, well maintained and clean. The owners clearly care about their investment and are constantly upgrading. After a long day outdoors, plenty of indoor activities with the games provided, Ipod dock, wireless internet, and comfortable sitting area around the wood burning stove. Great layout with an open kitchen/family room space. Outside the house, good proximity to Mt. Snow, Wilmington, Brattleboro, the lake, hiking, and more. Logistically very easy in and out. Very nice for families or adult gatherings. Thanks Maggie and Alex!

GREAT ESCAPE
We rented this place out for the weekend to Mt. Snow. We had around 16 people and had plenty of sleep space along with a well furnished house. All amenities were included. It was very comfy and cozy. I recommend this place to anyone who is interested. 20 min from the mtn with supermarkets near by. Will try to come back again soon.
Thanks from everyone.

We loved the layout of the place especially the living room with cozy fireplace. The ping-pong table was a hit as well!

Great house, wonderful atmosphere.
The house is very welcoming, clean and spacious, it feels like home. It is also kids friendly, well equipped, so you do not have to drag all the toys with you. The location of the house is great, very close to a grocery store, pharmacy, the downtown, and 20 minutes car-ride to Mount Snow.
The view from the living room is absolutely stunning! Overall we had a truly wonderful time and we will definitely go back to this place.
