This is a nice, large flat in a good neighborhood close to the underground. Elaine was good to make sure we had what we needed. There were good instructions in the flat for how to use the appliances, and suggestions for restaurants and green spaces. She confirmed for me the route to take from the airport and she even overnighted a blow dryer for me! All of this was appreciated.
However, we did have some issues: I did not receive check-in instructions until the night before we flew out, which was a little disconcerting. Also, London is very loud and the street noise can wake you up. Bring ear plugs! Also, there was a problem with the building's fire alarm system and it went off 4 times during our 11 night stay. Three times in the middle on the night (and once during the day) we had to go outside and wait for the firefighters to come and turn off the system. Hopefully this problem has been resolved as the alarm company was coming for repairs the day we left. Despite all this, we did enjoy our stay in the flat.

The apartment is in a great location just a few minutes from Angel tube station and Islington high street.
The apartment is spacious and well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The office desk, docking station, printer and screen were a bonus as I also had to work some of the time.
Communication with the host Elaine was very responsive and helpful.
I highly rate this apartment and host.

The flat is exactly as shown in the listing . There's no elevator, and the flat is on the 2nd (U.S. 3rd) floor of the building. Still, the walk up the stairs is easy. The flat has 1 full bathroom with both a tub and a shower, and there's a toilet on each of the 2 floors. The kitchen has lots of equipment.
Best of all, the host is such a warm and helpful person. Elaine couldn't have been nicer, and when there was a small problem, she handled it immediately and with consideration for us and our comfort.

Came to London on holiday and this place was perfect. Very clean and well equipped with things needed for a travel stay. The host was very friendly and prompt with communication. The area is nice, very walkable to local restaurants, tube and grocery. I recommend this place to anyone that seeks a great stay!

We stayed for a month:
- Great location - near Tube, restaurants, grocery stores, lots to see and do all around
- Host very responsive and helpful
- Great kitchen stocked with all that is needed to cook anything
-comfy couch/living room situation
- good internet
-Busy city location - a lot of street noise from traffic
- Some noisy neighbors - next-door and flat above- just general stomping around, video games at all hours of the early morning - interfered a bit with sleeping
- no elevator/3rd (US) floor walk-up - metal stairs

From check in to check out, Elaine and her husband were as helpful as can be, they provided an excellent apartment to stay in for my two month trip. Positioned conveniently close to the tube station and many bus stops, you can get anywhere staying in this location. Thanks Elaine.

Just perfect.
My stay was perfect, the place is perfectly located. 20 minute walk from the City, 5 minutes walk to Angel underground station and close to several bus stops in all directions.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants close, as well as grocery stores of all sizes. Exmouth market is only 9 minute walk. The place is big, I definitely fell for the kitchen and bedroom, just a great place to hangout and chill after a day out in the city.
To top it all, Elaine is a great host, during my stay a heater stopped working and she went out of her way to have it fix in no time. In short, this is a great place to consider if you are staying in central London.

We have stayed in Islington on a number of occasions and have experienced a number of quite tiny apartments. This apartment is very different with plenty of room to move across its two floors. It was also very well equipped with great kitchen facilities which we used although a Nespresso would be a valuable addition.
Location is very central with the tube and busses close by.

Great London experience
The flat was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed with all the necessities to be able to cook, which we did because of various allergies that I have. It was nice having the sleeping balcony with a king size bed since my husband is more of a night owl than I am. Also, the area is very convenient with grocery store, shopping and the underground only a short walk away. The underground is only one stop away from Kings Cross which makes it very convenient since you can get any where in London from there.
Elaine was wonderful and a delight to work with. I highly recommend this flat. The only thing to be aware of is that it is a second floor flat, which in the U.S. would be considered a third floor apartment. Although there is a lift in the building, it was not working the whole two weeks we were there. Therefore, please be aware that you may need to walk up two flights of spiral steps to get to the flat. Other than dealing with the luggage, I found the walk up to be good exercise and it became much easier as the days went by.

This apartment is so large and comfortable--and great service by the owners!
From the very beginning when I first inquired about the apartment the owner, Elaine, was always very responsive and helpful.
My flight was delayed and Elaine and Stewart (sp?) waited up until midnight to let me in. They were incredibly friendly and helpful showing me how to use the apartment and making sure I had everything I needed. (They also had to make a small repair in the apartment the next day which they handled completely so I could enjoy London. They left me the nicest gift basket that took me the full two weeks to work my way through! We loved THAT.)
The apartment is exactly as pictured, very clean, incredibly spacious, with a terrific kitchen. I had four friends traveling with me over for Christmas Eve and Christmas Brunch and there was plenty of room to enjoy the apartment.
The upstairs bedroom is extremely spacious and comfortable. There is a large claw foot tub, a great modern shower, separate WC and separate laundry room. The closet area has more than enough room--even for a two-week stay. (Americans: (and this is NOT the owner's fault)--European laundry machines are not like ours. They claim to be more energy efficient but the dryers barely dry your items--even after hours of repeated cycles. The manufacturers seem to ignore the fact that hours of electricity does not qualify as "energy efficient." Dry your clothes mainly on the laundry rack and finish them in the dryer to get the wrinkles out. But do not expect perfectly dry laundry in 30 minutes.)
The living room is not the Ritz Carlton but is very comfortable and easy to have friends over to enjoy.
Being in Islington is terrific. There are a number of grocers up the street including an organic grocer and plenty of terrific restaurants on Upper Street. Angel Station is a 5-minute walk, and there are a number of gyms within a minutes walk.
Other than the incredible spaciousness of the apartment I think the kitchen area and large sun filled windows were my favorite aspects of my stay.
My only complaint is that Elaine's apartment is so popular that I can't always get it when I want it!
Enjoy!

The flat was so lovely spacious and well equipped! It is even prettier than the photos and it has everything we needed for our stay. The area is lovely, very central, and with so many shops, cafes and restaurants around! Elaine, the host was very polite, helpful and prompt in replies!
We are very happy with our stay and we'll definitely try to come back. I actually tried to book the flat again for when we're back in London in two weeks, but to our disappointment it wasn't available.
This is the first time I used homeaway for short term rental and my experience was so good it will probably be my first choice from now on.

Perfect location and accommodations in this Islington flat. The only negative I could think of is the traffic at times but is to be expected in a main through way.
I will be back!
