At the end of the high street you will find the award winning blue flag beach and the coastal path.
Sheringham hosts many events all year round including the famous Crab & Lobster Festival, the Viking festival, Sheringham Carnival and the hugely popular 1940’s weekend in mid September. There is also a Steam Gala in the autumn, celebrating the heritage North Norfolk Railway that runs from Sheringham to Holt, through Kelling, with fantastic sea views along the way.
Nearby is the National Trust’s Sheringham Park, with miles of hilly countryside covered with gorse and purple heather and offers fantastic sea views. Great views are also found at the top of Beeston Bump, a large grassy hill that is 103m tall and was formed at the end of the ice age.
A little further afield there’s lot to do and explore. Idyllic coastal villages, stunning beaches and magnificent historic country homes are all within easy driving distance.
Please note - The bedrooms and bathroom are located on the first floor and accessed via narrow and winding stairs typical for properties of this type/age. While easily accessible for most they may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

We are grouo of 4 in laws. We holiday every year in Sheringham for 5 days. We found Alton house last year and stayed again this year. Clean, warm, comfortable. All required amenities in house. Beds comfortable. Showee/ bath is great. Location to town is ideal. Alton house is all we needed for our annual stay and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We have just got back from a week in Sherringham . Weather was mixed but we still had a lovely time . The annexe was superb , cozy& comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Nice quite road just a couple of minutes walk from Tesco , the train station and the lovely high street with a lot of interesting shops and cafes. We had some lovely sunset walks along the beach , a nice afternoon at Cromer and the dog loved the variety of woodland walks nearby. I had a wonderful afternoon spent at the Shire horse animal sanctuary just up the road, amazing place if you love animals. We also hired a motor launch out at Wroxham and that was fun too.
So much to do in this area , I hope to return and would definitely recommend the annexe .👍
Thank you . 😊

Very clean, with everything you would ever need, close to town centre. If you have mobility problems the stairs are a bit of an issue

A beautiful, well decorated and spotlessly clean home. We were very impressed with ALL the facilities and especially adored the kitchen. Lots of very high end appliances throughout and very comfortable beds. Superb location to explore the surroundings. A real treat staying here.

A great place to stay - Highly recommnded
Excellent accommodation. A good welcome pack, detailing how all COVID-19 precautions have been followed. The property was spotlessly clean, and provided for every amenity thinkable. An excellent base from which to see Sheringham and the surrounding area. We couldn't have wished for more from a self-catering property. Highly recommended.
