About this cottage rental

Stone farmhouse completely restored with 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, sauna area, billiard room, reception and multimedia room. Wi-Fi, 2 lounges, open fires, large dining room, fully equipped kitchen, freezer, washing machine, dryer.
4 facade house with private garden, close to shops and at the foot of the Belgian Ardennes. You will discover many sports or relaxation activities but also many points of interest. You will also be able to discover next to the gîte a small Aubrac breed farm operated by the owners. Beds are made upon arrival, towels are provided and final cleaning is included in the price.

Our stay at Pierre and Martine's farmhouse was wonderful! The view from the backyard out into the pasture's is breathtaking and the kindness shown to us and our family was delightful. We enjoyed day trips to Brugge, Chimay, Dinant, Namur, and Bastogne. Also, don't miss Maresous Abbey a short ride away.

Already for the third time my friends and I were guests in this dreamlike property. The owners are really great and friendly! We were welcomed each time with 2 bottles of wine and warm words. An earlier check-in and later check-out have also been possible each time after consultation. The house is simply a dream. Very well maintained and renovated with love. The bathrooms are very modern and there are enough possibilities to store food and drinks for a whole weekend with 10-14 people. We will be happy to come back!!!

In general, the accomodation was good. We went with a group of friends (12p) between the age of 18 to 25 years old. A big accomodation with a few smaller rooms and one big room. This meant that you can relax on your own, but also with a big group. Outside was also a good sit: chairs and a lounge to sit in with a lot of sun during the day and evening (and a big umbrella to hide from the sun). In the kitchen were all the essentials you need. It was hard to cook for 12 persons, but doable. There was a dishwasher present, but did not clean very well and broke glassware. We told this to the owners, and they would take care of it and the broken glassware was not a problem. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also good enough. There were enough beds for 12 persons. During the week we stayed, it was >30*C, so it was really hot in the bedrooms. Only one bedroom contained a fly screen. The bathrooms were clean and fresh towels were present. The big shower heads were a plus! For 12 people, it was hard to place everyone under a shower, but again doable. The washing machine and dryer came in handy to clean towels. The gîte was seperate from other houses so we had no problems with neighbours and neigbours did not have any problems with us. We did not have any smell problems with the cows, which we were worried about in front. The surroundings: Qua restaurants and entertainment it was limited. Take-away contained mainly Italian food or fries. If we wanted to do anything, we had to drive to Namen or Dînant (~30 minutes). Not a lot of people spoke English or Dutch, but only French. A tip is to use Google Translate. Owners: Very friendly and lived close to the gîte. Unfortunately, Martine and Pierre did not speak English or Dutch, but with Google Translate we made the best of it.

Séjour parfait ! À côté de la ferme ( très sympa pour les enfants ), billard, sauna, grande pièce pour réception et jardin avec superbe vue. - Accueil excellent ( notamment pralines chocolatier du coin, chauffage déjà allumé dans toutes les pièces ). - gîte hyper pratique. Énormément de matériel sur place ( idéal pour partir avec des bébés: chaises hautes, lits bébés, poussettes, vaisselle bébés, jeux etc) Lits préparés, serviettes de bain et peignoirs à disposition ce qui est très rare et pourtant tellement appréciable. Rien à redire, c’est réellement parfait !

Wunderbarer, liebevoll renovierter Bauernhof mit toller Ausstattung in ruhiger Lage. Wir haben unseren Silvesterurlaub sehr genossen, das gilt auch für unseren Hund, der wohl noch nie so wenig vom Silvesterfeuerwerk mitbekommen hat. Die Vermieter sind sehr unkompliziert und hilfsbereit. Jederzeit wieder!

Très agréable maison de vacances, bien adaptée à de grandes familles. Tout y est disponible, Six chambres et quatre salles de bains joliment faites, cuisine procurée d'assez de matériel pour cuisiner pour nous tous, barbecue extérieur convivial. Assez de place pour chacun. La grande table ronde est très agréable. Grande terrasse et jardin pour admirer la vallée derrière la maison, possibilité de faire de belles promenades aux environs. Fortement recommandée!

Wir waren nun bereits zum zweiten Mal mit 13 Personen zu Gast bei Pierre und Martine. Wir werden auch nächstes Jahr garantiert wieder bei ihnen zu Besuch sein. The house is beautiful: beautifully decorated, and with care, with attention to the essentials and to leisure (BBQ equipment, pool table, a swimming pool for the kids), and has a marvelous and peaceful view. The hosts, Martine and Pierre, are caring, charming and friendly. The village has all you need for a relaxing holidays, and it is near many attractions (from forests to lakes and abbeys to visit). We had a great week with friends!

Wir sind für ein Wochenende mit 6 Paaren vor Ort gewesen. Das Haus ist in echt noch schöner als auf den Fotos. Es ist mit unglaublich viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Der Garten ist riesig und das Inventar des Gartenhauses bietet allerlei Spielzeuge für klein und groß. Vom Badmintonnetz mit Schlägern über Sonnenschirme und Boccia-Sets ist alles geboten. Wir werden wiederkommen!

Fijne ontvangst, goed huis voor groepen, zeker voor iets langer verblijf. Hygiëne kon beter. Waar noodzakelijk in orde (bed/badkamer) maar niet uitmuntend. Keuken kon echt beter, mag wel eens goed uitgesopt worden. Geweldige huiskamer met haard, erg huiselijk. Sauna beetje vreemd gesitueerd onder de trap. Leuke extra's als degelijke barbeque en poolkamer.

Mit drei Familien (6 Erwachse, 6 Jugendliche) hatten wir eine wunderschöne Zeit in dem Haus! Das Highlight war der große, runde Tisch an dem alle Platz gefunden haben. Frische Eier, die Kühe und Esel besuchen, Ausflüge in die Städte der Umgebung und eine Wanderung vor Ort. Das Haus ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt um die Gegend zu erkunden. Einziges „Manko“ ist die Sprache. Ohne französisch Kenntnisse geht es nur noch mit „Händen und Füßen“ :-)

This lovely cottage is conveniently located approximately 30 minutes drive from Charleroi Airport and 60 minutes drive from Brussels - Zaventem Airport. The rural town of Mettet is south of Belgium and well positioned to explore the surrounding countryside. Day trips to adjacent countries is also an option; we visited both France and Luxembourg while there. The layout of the home is perfect for large groups. Our family of 12 was very comfortable with the sleeping accommodations, and we were delighted that all of us were able to sit at the round dining table for meals! The weather was amazing during our visit, so we spent much of our time on the back patio enjoying the beautiful views. The kitchen was well equipped, and we made good use of the outdoor grill. The owners, Pierre and Martine, were very kind. They greeted us with a warm welcome and were so good about answering any questions we had during our stay. The wine and fresh eggs provided at check-in were a nice touch - thank you, Pierre and Martine! We had a wonderful vacation and would highly recommend this property to others visiting the area!

Ein wunderbares Haus auch für 12 Erwachsene. Die Bio-Eier von Martine, selbstgefangene Fische, die Brötchen vom Dorfbäcker.....Wir haben es sehr genossen. Und - wir wußten alle nicht, dass die Wallonie sooo schön ist und die Menschen auch zu uns so freundlich sind.
