About this chalet rental
HighlightsA large and luxurious chalet to rent in La Tzoumaz Chalet Le Cerf is situated only 500m from the main piste. The chalet has been fitted and decorated to a high standard and is equipped with a second lounge/TV room and a sauna. Here you can truly escape into the mountain atmosphere and enjoy traditional evenings with family and friends around the fireplace whilst the children play downstairs in their own lounge area.
Bedrooms & BathroomsThis five-bedroom chalet comfortably sleeps up to 10 people in three large double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. There are a total of four bathrooms (two en-suite, three with shower only, one with shower and bath), a sauna and a guest WC.
La Tzoumaz Chalet le Cerf is equipped with a high chair and a folding travel cot (bedding not provided) suitable for children under 2 years old, and a second is available on demand on arrival. Please note that in accordance with the manufacturer's safety instructions, additional mattresses are not provided with the cots.
EquipmentThe main floor of this large chalet is an open kitchen/living/dining area with open fireplace and toasty underfloor heating. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need for family catering, including a dishwasher, microwave, electric filter coffee machine, Nespresso coffee machine, oven, hob and separate freezer. There are fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the log fire. A washing machine, hairdryer, iron and portable outdoor gas barbecue are all available for you to use. There is plenty of space to store all of your ski wear and boots, helping you to keep all your snow-sports clothing and equipment dry and organised.
RelaxingLet the sauna take the edge of your aching muscles after a hard day on the slopes. It’s hard not to relax when you are surrounded by La Tzoumaz’ stunning panoramic views and pretty snowflakes gently drifting past the window. On a blue-sky day, the view stretches 20km, from the floor of the Rhone Valley up to the peaks of the Haut de Cry and the Mont Gond, and in the other direction towards the legendary Vallon d’Arby and its un-pisted ski itinerary. Take a seat in a comfy chair with a glass of local wine at the end of a hard day on the slopes. If you are in need of distraction, the flat-screen TV not only receives international channels but is also connected to a high-tech Crestron system which offers over 500 films and hours of popular music to choose from.
InternetChalet Le Cerf is equipped with high-speed WIFI for your own private use during your stay.
PetsWe’re sorry but this is a pet-free property. Please browse our selection of pet-friendly rentals if you would like to travel with your pet.
ParkingAt least one car is advisable in both summer and winter. Parking for 2 or 3 cars outside the chalet. 4x4 vehicle with winter tyres and/or snow chains necessary in winter due to steep and snowy access road. Alternative parking is available at 200m for non 4x4 vehicles. Contact us for railway or airport transfers.
WinterThe chalet is only 500m from the main piste that descends into La Tzoumaz, so you can either walk (uphill in the morning and downhill in the evening) or catch the free ski bus. The ski-bus will pick you up 200m from the door and whisk you the 2km to the Savoleyres telecabin in a matter of minutes.
The modern high-speed telecabin carries you from La Tzoumaz up to the top of the Savoleyres in less than 8 minutes, from where you can decide to ski back on the quiet La Tzoumaz slopes or ski down to Verbier’s legendary slopes and world-class off-piste opportunities in the vast 4-Valleys ski area.
SummerIn the peak summer season (from early July to late August), we provide you with free VIP pedestrian lift-passes, half-price mountain-bike daypasses and a range of other discounts. The telecabin link to Verbier operates daily at this time of year from 08:45 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45, meaning that you can easily access the famous resort as a pedestrian, or accompanied by your bicycle or e-bike. For a small supplement you can even use a variety of mountain lifts to make your way up to Mont Fort at 3300m for the highest fondue in Europe and incredible mountain panoramas that include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.
In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot. Visit the Maison de la Foret with its wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail, and the starting point of many beautiful hikes. The Bisses are relatively flat footpaths that follow the water as it trickles around the mountainsides, where for centuries farmers and villagers channelled the streams for their own uses. They have been preserved and can now be an incredible way to spend a day or more on easy hikes with stunning views across the Rhone Valley or over to the Massif des Combins. We will provide you with plenty of tourist information including our favourite suggestions for day trips that are easily reachable from La Tzoumaz, from spectacular gorge walks, cheese factories and roman festivals to rainy-day ideas such as underground lake tours. The road that winds up the mountain-top to the panoramic Croix-de-Coeur Cafe-Restaurant opens as soon as the snow melts and from here you can continue the drive (or cycle) all the way down into Verbier. Try not to miss the Swiss National Celebrations in La Tzoumaz on August 1st, or the famous festival of live music performances, the Verbier Festival, which runs from mid-July to the beginning of August.
For familiesThe centre of La Tzoumaz benefits from an outdoor ice-skating rink in winter, and a children's playground area in summer, with a rope-based agility park alongside more traditional equipment such as slides. A fun channel system with running water is built into the hillside to provide plenty of entertainment for older children too.
At the exit of the village the Domus playground is a fabulous spot, often bathed in late afternoon sunshine, with swings, a zipline, see-saw, climbing frames and even old tractors to clamber on. It is overlooked by an outdoor cafe (check opening hours) providing drinks, snacks and ice-creams. There are rabbits, donkeys, goats, and there is also rock-climbing on the local crag in the background (contact us for equipment and instructors).
The Maison de la Foret has a cafe area for drinks and snacks (check opening hours), wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail with hands-on activities to borrow such as bird-whistling and learning to draw. The Nature Trail has disabled parking and is accessible to wheelchairs and children's buggies.
Right at the top of the village is the "Defis de la Riviere", which is equipped as an outdoor physical challenge area for older kids on the river. There are sensory walking areas for younger children and a basket swing, and also a picnic spot nearby.
A short drive down the valley takes you to the large lake at the Parc des Iles, with its playgrounds, high-ropes park, minigolf, restaurant, miniature train and more.

We enjoyed a lot our stay!
The open kitchen with big living room is perfect to cook together and relax till late into the night.
The available equipment is amazing and the 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and the sauna had a significant contribution to our 100% wellness feeling!
Besides this - and we highly appreciate that! - the whole communication with the agency was fantastic: precise, on time, well prepared, giving all needed information and very friendly!
Thank you!!!

Family vacation
The accomodation was great well sized that the nine of us all had enough space to move around and the kids enjoyed having there own space down stairs allowing the adults to have our own time out.
Only down side was the way to access the house down the slope and drive way which with the snow turned out to be a mud bath. Good walk away from the town centre but none the less we had a fantastic time and Anna and staff were at hand to assist when ever needed.

Very well located. Very easy access to the slopes.
Good coordination with the local agent for the key-collection and further support.

Chalet Le Cerf is absolutely fantastic. We loved the spectacular views and the cosiness inside.
The chalet was fully equipped to our needs. Washing machine, ironing board, double toaster, raclette machine, fondue sets, sauna, over 100 movies, spacious, lots of bathrooms, etc etc.
As we felt so cosy at the chalet, we had dinner inside most evenings. Because of the raclette and fondue equipment, it wasn't a lot of work at all to produce a yummy family meal. We shopped once for groceries in the big supermarket in Sion, and for the rest we bought our food at the local store in the village. We sometimes walked through the woods behind the chalet to the village. We also dined at hotel Post once. Very nice!
Ordering ready made meals at the traiteur service in the village was also possible.
The skiing area of 4vallees really is amazing. There are slopes for everyone's abilities. The South area of La Tzoumaz has the most sun. Sometimes we stayed skiing in La Tzoumaz and on other days we skied to Verbier.
We loved having lunch at 'Chez Simon' on the slope. (Bring cash and enjoy the authentic atmosphere) Also lunch at Croix de Coeur is very nice. (We stopped by in the morning to book our table as it gets very busy there).
Furthermore, we were made to feel very welcome by the agency. Excellent service overall!
Lovely family holiday. We will definitely come back to this chalet! Maybe even in summer as we would love to dine outside on the terrace with the amazing views on the mountains!

Beautiful remote chalet
The chalet was absolutely beautiful. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms. A view that is unparalleled from the deck that wraps around the main story of the home. We were very comfortable during our stay. Only negatives: it was a bit remote. If you aren't familiar with the area (we weren't) La Tzoumaz is about 15 minutes up a winding road up the mountain. By the end of our stay we were quite used to it, but at the beginning the drive was a bit daunting. It also would be great if they would stock things such as extra paper products. But the stores are close by - a few restaurants and a grocery store on the hill in the ski village and then many more to chose from down the hill. Our property manager was great. He even met us on our very late arrival as we were delayed. He was gracious about it, and made himself available during our stay if we needed anything. Overall I would recommend the chalet.

Very good. Spacious, high quality accommodation. Would recommend.
Well built chalet spread over 3 floors. Plenty of space for everyone and the entertainment system was excellent - plenty of films to watch and 3 TV's. Only small disappointment given the price over New Year was no welcome pack - not even bin liners, a washing up cloth or kitchen roll, let alone welcome food items or toiletries that others in this price bracket provide as a matter of course. Easily fixed but be warned especially if you are flying. Overall a great stay.

Beautiful house, great amenities
The house is located on the side of a hill with perfect 180 views. Great views and amazing amenities. One thing I'd recommend is to refill basic use items like soaps and tissues before hand.

Wonderfull chalet in a worderfull environment
We stayed a week in the chalet during August 2016 and it was a very good experience.
The quality of the chalet and supporting services were excellent.
We had a great time hiking in the mountains as well as relaxing in the chalet with all its facilities and surroundings!
