My stay started out as a very bad experience, but Saras, the hostess, turned that around. She was exceptional at making me feel welcomed, helped with getting my car parked, carried my bags up to my room, and even gave me something to eat. She is truly a gifted hostess. I wonder if she knows just how special she is.
I was not notified of the check-in process with the entry codes until way too late. I was already on the road and never got this info. So when I arrived I could not get in, and no one responded to my knocks on the door, and there was no phone number to call. I had visions of sleeping in my car in the parking lot. I had to drive around to find a wifi location to get the check-in info. Unless it's absolutely necessary, email the information the day BEFORE, don't wait until the day of, and provide a phone number. Also provide the wifi info and password ahead of time. Parking was terrible. I thought I had parking in the back, but it was full, and hard to get into and out of. Street parking was bad. As I said Saras helped with this, thankfully.

The cottage was quaint and more comfortable than typical for a hostel. Appreciated the coffee pods in the room and hair dryer. Comfortable bedding. Like that there is a fire pit with firewood.
Information needs to be updated in emails for instance, wrong pass code for door, wrong wifi info, staff was a handful of disinterested kids, no breakfast or coffee as listed in amenities and no parking. Property might also want to update to make it handicap accessible.

Decent breakfast selection in the common area. The bathroom was very clean and close by to room, that made it almost private.
Noise from the surroundings and the squeaky bed.

We stayed in the small house behind the main hostel.
The house is super cute, cozy, and perfect for 2 people. It’s is all open - as in , the bedroom, living room , kitchen -all one room with separate private bathroom! This is our second time staying at these accommodations. This is conveniently located to many cute little shops and restaurants (within walking distance) in WEST Asheville. Last visit, we were going to Salvage Station for a show and it was short easy drive or Lyft to get there!
No complaints.

The bed was wonderful, it was so comfortable. The house was very inviting and clean. It was quiet and I got a great night sleep. I will be staying there from now on when I visit Asheville.
The driveway was blocked so had to park on the street. Would prefer to park onsite.

The staff were friendly, and they were very helpful when I had questions about how to access my room and other amenities. I was greeted kindly every day.
I was given the option to park on the side of the road, as those spaces were free according to the hostel staff. However, to my surprise I would come out to my car every morning to see that someone had spit on my window. I think someone was angry at me.

Liked location and crew that runs it
Really do not like the extended lock out period during the day - That is a major drawback

the west bungalow was awesome. it had a fridge, microwave, glassware/silverware etc. private bathroom. multiple lighting options (sounds odd but we’re neurodivergent and light is a big factor when traveling).. heat worked amazing. we had plenty of towels and bedding which seems to be where others cut short. over all this was the best stay we’ve had when going non traditional “hotel” stay!!
someone who works at the retro arcade parks right next to the house. His car is extremely loud, getting in and leaving isn’t a big deal at 2 am, we listened to him rev his engine for 10+ minutes Thursday night before he left. P5 parking spot shouldn’t exist, we drive a smaller sedan and having any type of car in p5 makes leaving p3/p4 impossible to back out of.

Good location.
maintenance upkeep need to be done. toilet upstairs moves not mounted to floor. handle rail broken and ducktapped. high cost for hostel so higher expectations.

Very warm and homey space -- everyone was quiet and considerate -- bed was very comfy -- parking was not a problem -- decent neighborhood with a couple of nice pub/restaurants nearby
Time to nitpick... Shower was very "low-flow" though also pretty -- toilet backed up on me, but was resolved. Music in living room was too loud to read a book in. Breakfast didn't exist (though it was mentioned as available - there were staffing issues) wasn't a problem for me though. All else met or exceeded expectations - overall a good experience, I'll be back.

Great location clean enough
The bed was AWFUL. We slept in our car the night before and that was more comfortable

I felt very safe with the code keys. The building and common rooms were very cute and had tons of amenities in the kitchen.
Parking was limited on site and very hard to come by the surrounding area at night. I would recommend guest to get an Uber from the hostel if they plan on staying out late.

Bed mattress was very used already (you sink in it). Bad smell in the bedroom even though vent was on. But still I slept good
