Our family just returned from 17 days on Cape Rosier and we are still glowing from our experience at David’s house. It’s an exceptionally special property with meticulous thought and detail poured in at every level. While we were happy exploring various hikes and swims across the Blue Hill Peninsula, we were also happy spending multiples days on the property swimming, paddle boarding, reading, napping and cooking. I’m grateful to David and family for sharing their home and property with us.

Ever since visiting this property, I have been dreaming of going back. The house itself felt homey and inviting, and the property was perfect for our family to spread out and enjoy. We didn’t even leave the house for a solid 2 days once we arrived bc we were having so much fun right there that we didn’t feel like we even needed to leave! Every day involved time at the water (which is only a short walk away from the house), lots of sea glass, and perfect views. We enjoyed using the kayaks and liked that things like water shoes and life vests were provided. Some more child size life vests are needed, but luckily we had brought some of our own. The house was clean and had all of the kitchen gadgets that we needed. The area was very quiet with little to no traffic out on the road, so it was nice for riding bikes (although it’s super hilly!). Traveling to places like Acadia was a bit of a drive, but it was doable. Thank you very much for a great stay.

This house was amazing for our family. Big enough for a family of 8, private enough to keep loud children from bothering neighbors, enough activities to entertain a wide variety of interests and ages. Having the kayaks and canoe available was amazing, the beach was close and fun for everyone to explore, the hammock was perfectly placed for relaxing naps with an ocean breeze. We've recommended this house to everyone. Thank you!

Amazing view
We truly loved our stay here. The owners made us feel welcome. The house was comfortable, and we enjoyed visiting the beach. We saw porpoises on our first morning there. Thank you, David and Lensa, for your kindness and for sharing your home!

Great place for exploring the area or just staying home
Great place. We did a lot of exploring the area but also spent significant time just hanging at the house/beach/fire pit. 6 adults and plenty of space to gather but also find alone time. Lensa and David were excellent hosts. Loved this place.

Perfect visit to Maine
This is our third time renting this property. Everything about it was fantastic! Make sure you get your groceries on the way in, but once you’re here, there is no need to leave! We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful!
What a beautiful home! We traveled here after a family wedding for a few days with immediate family, including children in ages from 5-10, and there was truly something for everyone! The home is immaculate and has everything we needed! We would love to return and stay longer!

Many thanks for sharing your home with us!
We had a wonderful time, your house and property are beautiful and unique, homey and with great green design, a tranquil location in a less traveled neighborhood, the bird sanctuary area was special, our whole family enjoyed the place and time together.

The Maine event
We were In Brooksville for my daughters wedding. We had so many events we didn't get to enjoy everything the house & nature had to offer. The house was lovely and looked much better in person then the pictures showed on the website. We had a few electrical problems but called the owner David and he was there in 20 minutes. He got the problem solved and such a nice guy . Thank you David! We would rent the house again if we're back in the area.

2nd time here - still in love!
We love this area and this house. It is very remote, very private, and beautiful beyond words. The view from the private beach is perfect. We had an issue with the phone and WiFi, but the owners were responsive, and given where the house is, we understand that connectivity can be difficult and enjoyed our unplugged time!
This really is a property you can stay and not leave! We did visit Acadia, Bar Harbor, and nearby Buck’s Harbor, Blue Hill, and Stonington, but would have also been happy to stay put.
The owners provided everything we needed for a fantastic stay - canoes, ping pong table, smoker, fire pit, even books, coloring supplies, and puzzles for the kids.
Don’t stay here if you need a Starbucks or have hefty internet streaming needs, but if you want a peaceful, authentic Maine experience - this is it!!
We hope to visit again - thanks David, Haydee, and Lensa!!

David and Lensa were wonderful hosts to rent from. The house was very well appointed.
The house appeared to be recently renovated. all of the rooms and ammenities were well appointed. Our family got great use of the kayaks, canoes, bikes, fishing poles available. We even played ping pong a few afternoons! Its a true hideway. The room were all very comfortable with plenty of towels for my large family and blankets for the chilly summer evenings. We enjoyed the fire pit early evenings while we grilled. My only note would be that internet connection was nearly impossible inside the house. We needed to be waterside or near the road to pick up a signal. Its a true hideway and a perfect place to disconnect! Thank you David and Lensa for the wine and tasty treats for the kids!

Remote getaway with lots to explore!
This is a great location and amazing "off the grid" house. We (2 adults, 2 kids, 9 and 11) thoroughly enjoyed our stay exploring the rocks and woods. We saw porcupines waddling through the yard and a rabbit enjoying the dandelions. Not to mention lots of wild raspberries to pick.

Just perfect!
We loved every second of our trip! In terms of amenities I think the other reviews say it all but I want to add that everything is in great condition, clean and fairly new. Of course you have to know that you'll be fairly remote from everything (30 min. to a grocery store) but we were happy to be away in the woods for a while. We even saw a couple of seals in the bay! A perfect house, perfect location and perfect vacation!

Lovely Home
This place was an absolute dream for our family of four for our Maine vacation. The house is beautiful and has obviously been well loved. Fun having family touches in there of mixed cd's, photo albums, pictures and old games. Every thing that you could possibly need is found in the home-to games, fire pits, kayaks, plenty of kitchen ware, informative introductory binder with info on the house and local areas of interest. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly recommend it! We would love to come back again! Thank you!!

Incredible house in a wonderful location
My family and I stayed at this house with our extended family for a wedding nearby. It was very clean and comfortable, and stocked with just about every amenity we could need. The kayaks that came with the house were huge bonus. We went out paddling every day and saw lots of wildlife and almost no other people. The less-outdoorsy members of the family were just as happy staying in the house and reading or watching the movies that were provided. The kids loved the Foosball table and we all enjoyed the new fire pit which came with wood ready to burn! The highlight of the visit was watching the mother and baby porcupine eating clover blossoms in the meadow next to the house every evening. It was so perfect here that we had a hard time making ourselves leave to go to the wedding!
Overall, this was a fabulous place and we all hope to come back to stay here again some day.

Perfect Vacation Home!
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful Maine home. The best part I thought was having your own private beach! I would hesitate in staying here again or recommending to anyone wanting to vacation in Maine. There was so many other activities I had planned for our family to do but once we arrived no one wanted to leave. We did enjoy the use of the boats and playing ping-pong.

Absolutely perfect!
We couldn't have asked for more for our home away from home! The house was so clean and accommodating. It was so thought out down to every detail. It's a little more to itself and that was my favorite part. It made for such a peaceful getaway. Waking up to the sounds of nature and taking the short walk down to the private pebble beach was amazing and so relaxing. We visited the Blue Hill area not far away and ate at The Fishnet and it was delicious with such a fun setting. We stayed 3 nights and it was not near enough time to enjoy this little piece of paradise!

Exquisite Home, Exquisite Experience
What more could we have asked form - nothing. This is a clean and welcoming exquisite solar home on a gorgeous site located 200 feet from a beautiful freestone beach with sunset views, 5 human powered boats for our use and a picnic site. We were 20 minutes from Buck's, a 4+ star restaurant in Bucks Harbor. We paddled in the morning and enjoyed fine dining in Buck's Harbor and Blue Hill in the evenings. The owner and his representative could not have been more accessible and accommodating. The "house book" was informative, cautionary with respect to Penobscot Bay and paddling, and fun - it even had wiki-how instructions for making French press coffee and boiling lobster.

Amazing and beautiful home
This is a beautiful vacation rental! The house is represented accurately in the listing and was very clean. The house is well equipped with a nicely stocked kitchen. The garage/work space includes foosball and ping pong which we enjoyed most evenings. We played croquet as well. There are boats, canoe, and kayaks to enjoy Orr cove. Buck's restaurant in South Brooksville is worth a trip. We would love to return to this amazing spot and we highly recommend it.

Beautiful, secluded part of Maine
This is a clean, solar home located in a beautiful, secluded part of Maine with access to numerous beautiful beaches. Property owner was extremely accommodating, allowing any number of guests to camp on the property for our wedding weekend. The property has a spectacular beach a short distance from the home , though the beach and water are not visible from the home since it is situated on a more secluded part of the property. There are boats for use, a picnic table to sit at with your morning coffee overlooking a beautiful view, a grill and a cool outdoor shower. A flexible, accommodating owner and a beautiful part of Maine made this the perfect choice.
