About this cottage rental
Mohegan Wood is a two story beach-town cottage and is a great option to the typical bare bones beach bungalows. Perfect for families or two couples. Away from the crowds, noise, commotion, you can actually relax and enjoy the peace and comfort while still being at the beach. Everything is within walking or biking distance. Please see our list of amenities for the many extras we provide that others don’t such as beach passes and bicycles. Additionally we do not charge any additional fees such as cleaning or admin, the price you see is the price you get, excluding what the website adds.

There is central air throughout as well as ceiling fans and walls of bright windows if you prefer the fresh air. The house has multi zone audio and three flat screen HD T.V.’s. High speed Wi-Fi is available as well. There is a well supplied kitchen with all of the tools and pantry items a Chef could appreciate. There is also a renter contributed wet bar available to compliment your cooking. Outside we have an outdoor gas grill and gardens for you to help yourself to with a variety of two dozen different kinds of seasonal fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables. We have several bikes for your use, two beach cruisers, one vintage rat bike cruiser and a Schwinn tandem. For the beach there are beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, beach bags and beach towels.
The bottom floor has an open room design connecting the sun room, dining room, living room, bar and newly remodeled kitchen. Reclaimed barn wood is used on most of the walls with 12 foot high ceiling in the living and dining rooms. . The master bedroom and bathroom are also downstairs at the back of the house away from the street. By the back door are the laundry room and pantry.
The Master bedroom has a queen sized bed, mid-century dressers, closet, sliding glass door to a private porch, ceiling fan and a ceiling dropdown flat screen T.V. The newly remodeled downstairs bathroom has a real beach feel with stone and tile walls, glass shower and aromatic steam room.
Upstairs there is the second bedroom with full size bed, vintage dressers and closet in addition to the loft with office, sofa bed, more closets, T.V. area and sliding door to private balcony with outside steps down to the deck below. Between the loft and bedroom is a large full bathroom.
The decks and gardens are relaxing and large enough for a variety of "feels". There is music, lighting, several chairs and benches, umbrella table and a long reclaimed 19th century butchers block table.
We have off-street parking on the driveway with a converted carriage house for storage of fishing and surf gear.

This is our 5th time staying here and we can't say enough about the house. Great location and yard. House is great for 2 couples or a couple and 2 friends. Upstairs is great with 2 sleeping areas (1 sofabed), full bath and a deck. Downstairs has the master bed and bath. Living space has too many +s to mention. Highly recommend this house.

We traveled from Virginia Beach and Boston to unite on the New Jersey Shore as the Jersey Girls we all are! We had a great girls weekend staying at your wonderful house and felt right at home! Will and Karen were awesome. Unfortunately we came to Manasquan for a business trip and was not able to enjoy the many amenities provided (bikes, beach passes), fortunately we live 5 minutes walking distance to a beach in FL. We are foodies and loved the well equipped kitchen and lots of spices in the pantry. We loved experiencing beautiful fall mornings and evenings on the back porch deck and loved the Weber grill, herb and vegetable gardens. We did have a minor issue with the toilet and washing machine knob and Will was able to help solve issues ASAP. I was a little disappointed that the steam room wasn’t working, Overall it is a 5 Star vacation rental and we are very happy with the Home away from home experience 🎉

This is a lovely comfortable modest sized home in Manasquan, NJ! It is very well equipped with everything you may need for a stay at the beach. The house has beautiful plants inside and well tended gardens outside. The back deck is private with a canopy of trees. The location is great, just a short ride to Main Street or the beach.

We had a great stay for a long weekend in Manasquan. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and we used (and contributed to!) the traveler's bar and community pantry. Great sound system, and a wonderful back deck. The decor is perfect--eclectic and interesting. What a phenomenal space. The whole family enjoyed it. Probably the most graciously hosted rental we have stayed in. We truly felt like guests in Karin and Will's home. Thank you!

Beautiful house and even more beautiful Outdoor space
My family and I originally booked this house for Mother's Day weekend but I ended up getting sick, and Karin and Will were EXTREMELY flexible with rescheduling. We went this past weekend and immediately gasped when seeing the backyard. My family and I had to cut the trip short due to a family emergency back home, but we spend most of our time in the outside space which was one of the most relaxing things I've ever experienced. The house was well-kept and very clean! We had access to literally EVERYTHING which made it so convenient. I'm very OCD about sleeping on beds and sheets in rented houses, but everything was SO clean AND great quality, that I didn't even have to change out the sheets or towels for my own. I would definitely go there again and hopefully be able to stay longer!

We are local to the area but never knew the charms that Manasquan had to offer especially this chill and relaxing home! We decided to stay-cation at Mohegan Wood and really took advantage of the relaxing and comfortable home not to mention the spa shower and chefs grade kitchen. Highly recommend this place. The owners were very easy to work with, communicated exceptionally well and were accommodating when we wanted to stay a few extra days!

Cozy, Comfortable home
I spent two weeks in this cozy house with my husband and teenage daughter in October. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. We had a cold spell and absolutely loved using the fireplace in the evening. We walked downtown for coffee almost every day, and used the bikes for farther jaunts. Great location. Super responsive, friendly owners. Highly recommend.

Fun little property with lots of quirky charm! Don't miss the suspended tv in the master. It was plenty of room for my husband and me and two adult daughters. They enjoyed their own space upstairs. We were in town for a wedding and it worked out great. Nice hosts who were good communicators.

We had such a wonderful stay in this welcoming cozy home! The kitchen has everything plus a chef’s stove & huge grill on the back deck. We loved the porches & lush landscaping plus cucumbers, grapes, basil, parsley & tomatoes to pick in the garden! Lots of linens, towels, pillows & beautiful vintage quilts plus NEST guest toiletries. Also Netflix & Amazon prime was an unexpected bonus. Very comfortable! Quiet friendly neighborhood walking distance to downtown. Will & Karin are top notch super hosts! Would love to stay again - we were thrilled to bring our little dog too!
