Exceptional
Everything! The location. the villa itself. The decoration is beautiful. It equipped with everything you need. It's clean, has ac and hot water. Books to read and a hammock to just relax. We would prepare breakfast at home and go out for other meals. One night we had a bbq it was amazing! The beach is simply breathtaking. Also wanted to say big thanks to magaly and her husband who were nothing less than amazing. Very attentive, helpful and friendly. they went out of their way to make our stay an unforgettable one. Thank you.

Good
Location is great. House is cute. Beach is beautiful. Very good location for a peaceful family vacation.
The check in and out times are a bit difficult. If you come from Cancun, there is an hour time difference, so your actual checkin becomes 6pm. So you lose that day, and then must be out by 10am. Another lost day. There were people not staying at our house who had permission to use the chairs on the property. Nothing like family photos with some random girls naked body parts in the background.

AMAZING house on the beach!
- AMAZING LOCATION! You literally live on the beach. - Beautiful views from your patio, private beach. Perfect vacation. - The hosts very super nice and helpfull.
- The house is a bit dated. It's still very nice for El Cuyo standards but don't expect 5 star hotel quality.

terrifying 🪳🪳🪳🪳 🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳
it was a nice property except 🪳
OMG as soon as we got there there was dozens of cockroaches coming out of the shower drain, we managed to get rid of some but they kept coming out, we kept the bathroom door shut hoping that would stop them. later in the evening I sat on the master bedroom Bed to watch something on my laptop, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a big black thing run across my shoulder, I screamed knocked it of, it was a huge cockroach it ran up the corner of the bedroom, at this point I was too terrified to sleep there, so I had to leave & find another place to stay, as you can imagine it was difficult at 11 o’clock at night. The whole experience was traumatic. The owner offered no compensation.

Great location right on the beach, walking distance to restaurants and town square
It was our second trip to El Cuyo with our kids, 4 and 2 years old, and first time staying at Hacienda del Cuyo. There were several incidents during our stay, which ranged from inconvenient to off-putting. The day we arrived, the house manager Magally's husband came knocking to try to sell us tours of El Cuyo. He also prepares fresh-caught fish for guests, he said. He charged us 800mxn (equivalent to 40 USD) upfront for a whole grilled fish and shrimp ceviche, but when he delivered the food later that day, it was clear that he bought the food, a small fish fillet with a side of rice and beans, from a takeout restaurant. For comparison, a whole grilled fish with all the traditional side dishes at nearby La Negrita restaurante costs 150mxn (8 USD). The next day, a maintenance person came to service the air conditioners in the bedrooms where my children were sleeping. This came as a surprise because we did not use the air conditioner and did not request the service. When I asked the contractor to return later in the day, he said he couldn’t because he came all the way from Cancun (2.5 hour drive). When I messaged the owner Matias for help, there was no response. The kitchen sink leaked overnight, which left a large puddle of water on the floor, and the house smelled musty as soon as we walked in, as if no one had opened the doors and windows in a long time. Maybe we were just unlucky. Either way, we will not be back.

A perfect place to be
The setting of this beach Hacienda is superb. All the palm trees provide plenty of shade to stay out of the hot sun, and deliver a 24/7 palm leaf rustle which ads to the tropical beach tranquility. The ground floor apartment of the Hacienda has a large living room with kitchen, two large bedrooms, one facing the beach, and endless clauset space. The shower in the bathroom has real hot water. The steady breeze, sometimes strong winds, keep most mosquitoes and flies away. Remember, this is a Kitesurfing beach with occasional strong winds. The Gulf here has clear water, when calm, and the beach is obviously less exposed to the sargassum seaweed.
Interner connection could have been better.
