I didn’t have breakfast.
The location was ideal in the centre of town, close to bus routes and shops etc. but my room was quiet and peaceful too.
I stayed for two nights and had everything I needed.

Very friendly welcome from the owner. As a solo traveller I had a single room which was adequate for the price. Had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed. Recommend the full English breakfast very good.

It was exactly what we were looking for. A small guesthouse. The landlord was fantastic, very kind an very helpfull in everyway!

Staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating to our needs.
The property was clean and tidy and well decorated. A short walk to the middle of town.
Breakfast was tasty
Can’t think of negative to say a perfect place for us

Friendly and helpful hosts

A warm, comfortable & welcoming atmosphere; the hosts went above and beyond to make sure the stay was as lovely as can be.
Nothing to dislike about the property.

Great welcome and show around
Breakfast was amazing and great value
Very clean and comfortable
Not a bad thing but just to bear in mind parking is limited outside so used the paid carpark over the road

It was quiet and comfortable, conveniently located in the town of Wellington. A nice family run guest house.
For some hopefully constructive criticism as I will definitely stay again if they’ll have me! I would have liked some net curtains as there was a chap outside the bedroom window fixing something when I came out of the shower! There was also a rather odd makeshift plywood slide door for the en suite bathroom in an otherwise lovely room. I would also have liked breakfast to be served a little later (I think the latest session was 8:45?) as it looked like it would be very pleasant in a cosy front room.

Quaint, central to the places we needed to go to in Wellington. The hosts were friendly. Room warm and comfortable, except there was no chair. (No room)
The Blue Mantle is an old building so you accept that the rooms will be small and pokey, but the shower was particularly tiny and hard to use! (and we are small people, I would hate to imagine a large person in the shower we had!)
We were in room 1 and I feel it isn’t suitable for older people. There was a high step up to the bathroom and a very dodgy unstable sliding door. For someone older, who needs to get up 2-3 times during the night, this was a fall hazard. Perhaps it should be advertised as being unsuitable for older guests.
Breakfasts were also confusing. It should just be continental £7 and full English £10, not the confusing “one/two options from A or B”.

Easy to find from motorway.
In a central position and easy to park.Warm welcome from host.
Quiet and comfortable rooms and bathroom., all necessary facilities have been carefully considered.
Breakfast excellent and in pleasant surroundings.
In the evening I was able to find food in the town and even went to see a film in the nearby cinema.
There was nothing I did not like during my stay.

Excellent cooked English breakfast and fair value at £7 Plenty of road parking outside/
A little noise from the street at night

The location in the town centre is ideal for me as I come to visit friends
and relations from when I used to live in Wellington a few years ago.
There’s always a warm welcome from the owner and there’s a happy
family atmosphere.
The taps on the bedroom washbasin gave a very slow of water.

Really convenient location and great for access into Taunton.
The breakfast was incredible and the timings are very flexible, one of the only places I have stayed in a long time where you can have breakfast at 7am to get to work on time.
The odd load car, but you get that everywhere. Not a negative, more of an observation.

The room was sweet, Andrew and Louise were wonderful hosts. Breakfast was yummy. The facility is just lovely.
The parking was a bit challenging, but Andrew and Louise helped us make a plan.

Louise & Andrew were extremely friendly and accommodating hosts who were in regular contact before we arrived for our one night stay (Room 8) in August 23. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and with a large, separate (non-shared) shower room that suited our tastes. The Blue Mantle occupies the site of a former Victorian hotel and is architecturally very quirky and beautiful - particularly the front, breakfast dining room with its expansive, large-paned windows. Our room was comfortable and very quiet - owing to its situation at the rear of the property - and came with complimentary tea and biscuits. Special mention must be made to the wonderful (optional) breakfast we enjoyed during our short stay - fantastic quality, locally sourced ingredients, large portions and well cooked at a very economical £7 per person.
Wellington was a very pleasant town to briefly visit with great options for eating out and meeting the locals in the nearby pubs and inns.
One of the nicest and certainly best value short stays we have ever had the pleasure of - keep up the good work Andrew & Louise - we will be back!
Just a very minor suggestion to provide a couple of small glasses for a bedside glass of water at night although we made do with the tea mugs.

A late check in was greeted with no problems whatsoever by the host. Showed to the room and the facilities were explained in full. Even a quick guide to the towns hostelries was supplied!!

Second visit and this time it felt like home away from home.
And I cannot stress enough how good the English Breakfast was - ridiculously large and the most delicious black pudding served with fresh coffee - it really did look like the photo.

Little gem in Wellington Somerset. Located on the main road, near (yards) from centre though rooms at back so quiet, on street parking no problem. Met and shown round by friendly host, excellent decorate, clean and everything you would want (and it works) comfy bed, quiet and darkroom, wonderful shower . Full English breakfast was excellent, will definitely stay again
Could ask for anything more or better, didn't want to leave!
