The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was really good and the bed was comfortable and clean.
The music from the pub was very loud and interrupted our sleep until 1am.

The staff are very kind and helpful. They make you feel welcome. I ate dinner and the food was excellent. Reasonable prices, large quantities and good quality. The room was very clean.
While I liked being above a pub and able to get a meal and drinks, it was a bit noisy and they have a license to open until 1:30pm. My bed was quite soft.

The food is great, very oldy world place. In centre of town.
Small fault with shower in the room but the room was great.

Quaint little pub with decent food too.
Biggest downside, we stayed on a Friday night in a room overlooking the courtyard (room 8)
Sadly it was very noisy with music and chatter until 1.30am
If not for that would have given 4/5 stars.

The owner was very helpful in locking our bikes away for the night and in making us a vegan evening meal. The garden at the back was very pleasant.

Great location with secure car parking. Staff were excellent, and Dave, in particular, couldn't have been more helpful and made us feel very welcome. Delicious breakfast. Comfortable room with good facilities. We would definitely return.
My own fault, but I didn't realise when booking ( and didn't think to check) that the bar is open until 1am Friday/Saturday, so we could hear the music etc due to our room overlooking the beer garden.

I really love the two David’s puppies, Jess and Ruby!

The breakfast options were plenty and even though neither of us had the full breakfast, what we had was lovely and my husband who is a celiac was offered options.
The location of the property was perfect and easy to find.

Easy location. Free parking. Staff were very friendly and the owner was brilliant making sure everything was OK. Dog friendly with no extra charges although they are only permitted in a couple of rooms, so call the hotel direct to make sure you have booked the right room. Breakfast was great and cooked fresh to order. Decent pub grub and good prices in the evening with a good choice.
A bath would've been good but it is a small hotel so can't have everything.

Check-in officially closes at 11. We arrived much later due to unforeseen circumstances and they were happy to accommodate. Place was very dog friendly. Breakfast was great - they catered for my wife and I who are both vegan so an added bonus. Room was clean and comfortable.
Not much to dislike. Building is clearly a bit old and room was a little 'creaky', but not really a complaint, more of an observation. Wouldn't stop me going back

A lovely old pub with parking on the main road outside available after 6pm, or a small car park at the rear of the property. The staff were lovely and the room was clean, although right on the top floor with steep stairs, so not suitable for someone who can't manage stairs. The room was pleasant and clean with good tea/coffee making supplies and plenty of biscuits, beds were comfortable. The ensuite bathroom had a good shower and again was clean. Only half a toilet roll though, which we found a little odd. Free guest Wifi worked fine. Great that they not only accept, but obviously genuinely like dogs and they are allowed to come down into the bar to stay with you while you eat.
The first problem arose when we arrived to be told they didn't have a booking for us and we weren't in their book! I showed them my Booking.com confirmation email and luckily they did still have a room vacant. We weren't aware that there would be live music (directly under/outside our room) and that people wouldn't be leaving until almost 2AM. As we had to get up at 6am that made a couple of already very tired people even more tired for our day at Paignton Champ show with our dogs.
We had dinner at the Vintage and it was acceptable, until we got to the dessert.
My friend had an obviously bought in chocolate fudge cake and vanilla ice cream, which she said was nice. I had an apple and cherry crumble with custard, which I hoped would be home made and was really looking forward to. When the desserts finally arrived (they forgot us) the "crumble" was a weird gloopy mass of gunge with stodgy, lumpy custard. I picked out a few pieces of apple, but had to leave the rest, which is unheard of for me as I'll normally eat just about Anything - it was very weird and totally unacceptable. We did see there was an advert on the window asking for a Chef and the quicker they get one the better. Breakfast was basic (nice sausages), a little cold and why on earth people only butter the Middle bit of the toast I really don't know. Give toast and butter to the customer and let them sort themselves out.
Perhaps on another day we would have had a much better experience.
Angie was a little affronted that the land lord followed us out to the car when we started loading our bags etc, I assume he has had people walking out without paying before, but why he thought we would leave our dogs there I don't know. Overall such a shame, this place could be really nice.

Staff and landlord were lovely and it felt like my second home.
Location is very handy for everything, shops, take aways, local park and nature reserve.
Rooms very clean and comfortable beds.
Breakfast was very generous.
Only one thing, would prefer fresh ground coffee with breakfast!

Everything was very good.

the fact they advertised food but didn't serve any ( the only reason I had booked the place ) and didn't seem to try to help in any way

Really good breakfast , kept us going all day . Staff were really friendly . Fantastic beer garden , we stayed there most of the afternoon and decided to have an evening meal which was great. The car parking area was off road and locked up at night and although the pub was busy it was safe and secure .

Lovely pub B&B. Food was nice and the room are nice and clean. Beds are comfortable.
Staff are all lovely and friendly. The pub is completely dog friendly too.
Is a little noisy at night, but it is a pub. Might be an idea for sound proof window things on the inside I’ve seen at some places with Sash windows.

Excellent location, great hosts. Room was comfortable, & dog was very welcome. Great food- both pub meal in the evening and breakfast. Would book again and recommend.
