It's steps away from the beach. Open air living area, kitchen and dining. The bedroom and bath have a/c (mini split unit). This is a short term rental aka air b&b type unit so no office, no lobby, nor services. They do have a maid service that comes through to touch up...not everyday though. Cristy, the manager, is great and she communicates with you, if you have questions. She can also get you transport to and from airport. Use WhatsApp for quicker response time than through Booking.com messaging.
TV was a little difficult to get set up correctly. Menu button...Make sure wifi internet is connected to TV (had to do every time we turned tv on. ) Go through Smart Hub to set up Samsung acct. Netflix has been downloaded.. just log in.

close to the beach in a quiet area but very close to nice shops and restaurants.

the location is wonderful! loved the security aspect and the open air concept
there was constantly very loud construction every single day forcing me to work inside all day everyday while I’m in paradise to escape the noise

Beautiful, second story location a stone’s throw from the beach. Housekeeper did a good job straightening and cleaning. It was fun having an open-air ‘veranda’ that housed the kitchen, dining room, and couch. We cooked and ate there every meal. The bedrooms have plenty of storage and a safe. Overlooks a courtyard/alley that you can have your cab driver unload right at the stairwell. Is a gated area and security quite good, with a roaming patrol and guard at the gate. There was plenty of clean drinking water in a countertop dispenser. The bed was comfortable, and the bathrooms had ‘rain’-type shower heads. The second bedroom had two comfortable twin beds and a full bath with shower. There are plenty of various types of grocery stores within easy walking distance, along with good restaurants. The hostess was excellent at responding to our requests and giving directions to where we wanted to go. The easy access to the beach and swimming pool made it easy to go there every day and to enjoy the sunsets. Sayulita is a much more authentic Mexican atmosphere than Puerto Vallarta. The roosters and morning-doves greet you every morning.

No breakfast included, location was perfect.
Only small issue was I couldn't use the microwave. That was it!

The host Christy was very accommodating. The double rooms were great for kids, kitchen was great. We liked the communal nature of the Paloma’s. Security was really good. Wifi was great.

Location was right on the beach. It was perfect. It was only a short walk into town also.
Bed needs a duvet. I was a bit cold with just a sheet and the blanket I found was really heavy. I know I sound like Goldilocks but it was either way too hot or a little cold.
The set up was a bit odd with the outdoor kitchen to which there was pretty much free access to anybody off the street. The room locked so belongings were fine and the area feels safe so I wasn’t worried.

Casa Kanelo is close to the beach and has a great, open-air, no-nonsense layout. it also has 24-hour security and excellent cleaning staff. The manager is kind, responsive, and helpful. We were caught in a weather emergency, and she was amazingly supportive.
There were a couple days where visitors from another condo were playing their music much louder than was necessary.

Casa Kanelo was in a great location. Walking distance from town, right on the beach, and a pool in the complex. The AC was a huge plus, I stayed in another place right before without and it was hard to sleep as it was very hot. The WiFi was strong enough for me to work from the place and take zoom meetings
Nothing!

Host, Cristy, was absolutely amazing. She answered every question within minutes, was super helpful in getting us a few extras we had asked for, like an extra fan, a charging cable for the golf cart we rented, extra beach towels, as well as arranging to getting from and to the P.V airport. She was a REAL pleasure to deal with. Super responsive, very friendly and extremely accommodating! Would recommend any time!
The apartment we stayed in was Casa Ketzal, which is the unit on the middle floor. Everything you could need was there!! AC in the bedrooms was very appreciated, as the living room/kitchen area is all open and gets hot, but with the ceiling fan and an additional portable fan she gave us, it was great. Pool area was wonderful, and overlooking the ocean was great. Steps to the beautiful beach super handy. Very quiet and convenient location, away from the pretty loud downtown, however just a short walk to get there, which we made at least twice a day. Renting a golf cart for a couple of days was quite nice, as it made exploring the neighborhoods on the hills and other beaches easier.
All in all, don't hesitate to stay here, you will love it!!
Nothing! Maybe the July heat....

Steps to the beach, awesome location.

Nice quiet location and loved the outdoor kitchen space. Short walk to the centre of Sayulita and steps from the beach. We stayed in the one bedroom on the top floor which was great; private with plenty of natural light.
It was difficult to initially find as the google map directions weren’t accurate and as it’s located in a gated complex, there is no sign for Casa Kanelo. Look for the black gate across from Pizza Venezia.

A quiet place with a great area by the pool and beach
The ocean was a little iffy

pool and beach. great combination
I think the only thing I didn’t care for was the cobblestone driveway. it had a few tripping hazards

Safe location in gated complex. Pool was a nice place to relax if the beach was too much. Very easy access to beach. Location was ideal for us to be somewhat separated from noisy city-center but still very accessible. Kitchen and bathroom were functional and clean. Host was very responsive via WhatsApp
Common area (kitchen/living room) was very sparsely furnished. The small couch was old and not comfortable. Suggest host puts more furnishings.
Also - no lock on unit entrance. This required us to put everything away inside the lockable bedrooms each time we left the unit.

Cristy was fantastic, she helped us with so much, from arranging airport transportation to laundry. She was very attentive and quick to respond to any questions. The location is perfect! You have pool and beach access, with security. You are only like 5-10mins from the busy hub, but there are markets and restaurants literally one minute from our door. It was the perfect amount away from the loud downtown but super easy to get to downtown if you want to.
The only complaint, and this is getting nitpicky, would be the size of the bed and the blankets. But this issue would in no way stopping us from coming again.

My Girlfriend and i were happy to find that Casa Kanelo had an excellent, safe, and unique location. THis was our first visit to Sayulita, so some of our booking choices were made on instinct with a Lets See What Happens Attitude. CASA KANELO really was a lucky choice and made our visit great... here is what we loved...
1)Cristy, the owner of the property, was so nice. very friendly and energetic and helpful with any questions we had. she texted me direct through whats app and was bi lingual. fast with a smile and easy recommendations for going out in town.
2) Location. very very very close to beach and pool. I Love to surf, so while the Hotel wasnt right in front of the main break, i was beyond happy to find that i could surf right in front, away from the crowd, and get fun Lefts coming in on the other side of the rock point. i surfed alone many days and picked off as many waves as i could while the tides was right.
We stayed on the top floor unit. plenty of outdoor space, natural light, and all the basic amenities we needed. the unit was very spacious. it was well decorated. had a great shower with plenty of hot water.
3) Secure. the area the unit is in is gated. monitored by a security gaurd. there seems to be plenty of families sharing the neighboring units with you. which is cool for us, we dont mind. the downtown area was such a short walk (5 minutes) so we were happy to have a nice, secure, family orientated area to stay in. this way, we can go to the downtown party when we liked, as opposed to being so close to the party that the music kept us up weather we wanted it to or not.
We definitely noticed a few modern and cool looking hotels in town....but trust me, that music is gonna be pumping all night!
Casa Kanelo really was the back bone of our visit. great location. great host. great waves. perfect blend.
Thanks Cristy! will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
idve loved some morning coffee available in our spot....but that is a minor strike. easily remedy-able. a coffee house right outside the gate...or i couldve got some from the market to make my own.
the coffee pot is there and ready!

it was difficult to find since it was located within a community complex.
unit retained moisture after a shower.

Location : not in downtown, which was how we like it. Secure location. Access to beach and pool. Place was clean airy.
Open living room, and open access to street; With two little ones, we had to make sure there we set up obstacles before we went to bed.

The location was amazing. Everything about the property met my expectations and I would definitely stay again. Christy was very helpful with all my questions about the area.
Everything in this area is now over-priced due to demand. This isn't the fault of the owner, just the way things go.

Our host, Cristy, was simply amazing! From booking thru departure, she was always quick to respond to any questions we had, or to offer recommendations for Sayulita. Casa Kanelo was clean, comfortable and close to all of Sayulita's wonderful attractions! We will be back soon for sure!
