The cabin is cozy and had everything we needed for a tranquil, clean, and comfortable stay. We're a family of 4 and there were beds to spare. Marijo, the host, checked in via message to see how we were doing. She had also been prompt in answering my questions prior to our stay. The only drawback was the length of time it took to drive to Acadia NP each day (45-60 min depending on traffic) Next time we'll stay much closer, although that will likely mean sacrificing the peace of having a cabin to ourselves with only the birds for neighbors!

The cabin was beautiful and very clean. When we had a problem it was taken care of as soon as it could be taken care of. The owners of the property were very friendly and helpful. There was only one thing that could of been better the WiFi or internet connection could have been better. But everything else was great.

Property is clean and comfortable. My 2 teenage sons and I enjoyed making fires in the firepit and using the kayaks in the little stream. Good location for relaxing while surrounded by nature.

Just an absolutely tremendous experience. We will never forget it and are hoping to return! Marijo made sure we had everything we needed. Highly, highly recommend.

We just got home from our stay in this cabin. The home is cozy, clean and well stocked. It's a mile off the road and sits on a beautiful meadow with a creek running in front of the porch. The property is just enormous and so lovely to walk around. We didn't have any contact with Marijo or Den while we were there but they left plenty of ways to reach them should we need assistance. If you're contemplating renting this home don't hesitate. You will not regret it at all. I hope to get back someday soon. You definitely need more than a week to explore the area.

Was happy with location when visiting acadia national park. Cabin was nice. We came during drought and heat wave so we were a little hot a few evenings. Enjoyed the kayaks. We appreciated the owners kindness when we let propane tank run dry by mistake and left ceiling fan on all night and ran solar power out. We took many happy memories in the cabin back home with us.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin. It was exactly as described and it was very secluded, which was exactly what we were looking for. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. We enjoyed the kayaks that were provided and found a beaver dam on one trip. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing!! The Young’s were excellent hosts and were very responsive to any need. We would love to return, but after 4 trips to Acadia I think we should let some other National Parks have a chance:) Thanks again!!

Lovely place to get away from it all!
This cabin is in an absolutely lovely area on Marijo and Dean's extensive property. It's the perfect place to get away from everything! It's so quiet at night, all you can hear are the frogs and crickets. During the day we watched for wildlife, but it was hot (by Maine standards) so we didn't see much.
Note the listing says there is wifi, but it's at the garage, 1.5 miles from the cabin. And cell service is sketchy at best - I could generally get a weak signal sitting on the loveseat, enough to keep up my Wordle streak at least! :-) The opportunity to disconnect was welcome (at least by me) so this was fine, but others should be aware of it.
The upstairs area is accessed by ladder, which is very sturdy but my 4 year old was a bit scared to descend on his own. A more confident and/or older kid would love it, though. And there's a very nice shaded patio area upstairs!
The cabin is not air conditioned, which is fine for probably 50 weeks out of the year. Unfortunately for us, we were there in one of the other 2 weeks. The first few nights were ok as it got down in the lower 60s at night, enough to cool the inside quite nicely, but toward the end of our stay highs were approaching 90 and lows in the mid 60s didn't get it cool enough at night for our preference. That said, the cabin is built such that not a ton of direct sunlight gets in, so it doesn't get too oppressive even on hot days. The cabin is on solar power, so they do ask that you are considerate of energy usage. There was no shortage of sunlight during our stay, so we didn't have any problems with this despite leaving a light on all night for the kid.
Marijo and Dean are both very nice and friendly, not that we needed much from them during our stay. I would love to stay here again, but maybe not during the hottest week of the year!!

Remote, Relaxing, but HOT Getaway!
What a beautiful property! If you are looking for seclusion, privacy, and relaxation this is your place! We did have an issue with the bathroom sink leaking, and we were told a plumber was coming, but never showed up. Good help is hard to find, I guess, so we were unable to use the bathroom sink for our entire stay, which was annoying. Aside from that, just be aware there is no air conditioning at the cabin, and only one window fan, as well as a ceiling fan in the living room. A couple of the nights were unbearably hot! Overall, our stay was enjoyable, and we had a great time. The available kayaks and canoe's were also an added bonus! Note: beware when you flip the kayaks over, the second time we used them, there were TWO snakes inside the blue kayak! Makes for a funny story now, but had I not seen them and been out on the water when I discovered them, it would have been a much different story! (Ie. Heart attack!). The place is clean, and decently well stocked. Cell service is basically non-existent so don't expect to use your phone, and there is no wi-fi. They say there is wi-fi at the garage, but its 1.5 miles from the house, so you can't connect to it unless sitting in your car next to it. Marijo is very responsive to texts/e-mails (when you can send them!), and Dean is very nice, he came to the house one day to let us know he put the generator on to make sure we had power (it was a rainy day and the house is 100% solar). One last comment is that we found the area to be fairly sparse of restaurants/attractions etc., and if you are visiting to go to Bar Harbor/Acadia as we were, its a bit too long of a drive (45 minutes) to do everyday. Thanks to Marijo and Dean for sharing their place with us, we enjoyed it!

Quiet, Cozy Cabin
Marijo is a great host, quick to respond and willing to work with us on our dates. The night sky at the cabin is amazing - no other lights to impeded the view of the stars - we actually saw the Milky Way!

Marijo was great to work with. She was always quick to respond and even sent a message just to check in and ask if we needed anything. The cabin was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked. WiFi there is minimal, but she left instructions about where to find it if needed!

We love staying in this cabin so much! We kayaked and enjoyed Acadia as well! Such a joy to visit during a different season and see how the meadow had changed!

Beautiful and peaceful
My family really enjoyed staying at this camp. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The sheets and towels were clean. The owners are wonderful. We stayed here to visit Acadia. But after we dealt with the crowds at bar harbor we agreed that relaxing at this camp was enough for us. We enjoyed walking, fishing and campfires. We saw shooting stars. We would definitely stay here again.

Looking for the coziest cabin with the best views of the stars? A place so peaceful that your voice can echo as you greet your partner and family while they kayak along the lazy creek? A remote camp with all the modern amenities -- just the place I needed to recover and unplug. I read many books while sitting on the porch while my family adventured around. We stayed in early August, which meant that wild Maine blueberries were perfectly ripe for the picking. The family of turkeys was always a nice surprise to see as well as the great blue heron that was hunting in the creek one sunset. Location was perfect to get away from it all... but also be less than half an hour from any groceries or needs you may have. Acadia is a reasonable (beautiful) drive and it's so nice to come back to such a quiet place!

Just amazing. Your own private cabin with kayaks, a river with beaver dams along the way footsteps from your cabin door, and wildlife as far as the eye can see and the ears can hear. Can’t wait to visit again.

Went here for a birthday trip for my boyfriend. The view is awesome. I could hear my own echo. Looks like the logo on Poland Spring water bottles. We saw turkeys, deer and turtles. We loved the outdoor grill and fire pit. Be sure to open all the cabinets for surprises like dvds, card games, extra soap and spices. We didn’t mind the 40 min drive to Acadia park because it meant we come to a secluded place after a long hike. Thanks for letting stay at your cabin!! ❤️

Perfect Maine Getaway
Cabin was immaculate, tastefully decorated and well appointed, while remaining comfortable and rustic. The setting was idyllic in a wildflower meadow with a stream. Completely private but located close to everything tourist related.
Owners were extremely helpful with questions answered quickly. Highly recommend and we will return.
