About this chalet rental
This passive solar home now with high speed internet, sits at over 10,000 feet, is warm and cozy even with 3 feet of snow on the ground. The ski in-ski out location makes it easy to stop in for lunch or warm up by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa.
Sit on the swing in the light filled sunroom and watch the elk, turkey, deer, and other wildlife graze in the front yard or take a walk threw the forest of evergreens, aspens, and wild flowers blooming everywhere.
The 4 bedroom home with 3 ½ baths, can sleep 12-16 and provides every one a comfortable place. There is a fully equipped kitchen as well as a washer and dryer for your “ at home” convenience.
Relaxing in the hot tub is the perfect place for stargazing after a day of hiking, golfing, mountain biking, frisbee golf, horseback riding, fishing, snowboarding, or skiing.

We spent spring break at this ski in ski out and had a wonderful time.

This is the second time we stayed in this amazing house. Rick was great and very helpful. We had a short walk to the slopes (due to Texas Flat not groomed) but were able to ski right up to the back door. Great ski-in / ski-out especially with kiddos. We loved this house.

Very unique property with lots of character.
The orange dots on the tree path lead us to the slopes! Then, after a few hours, we loved skiing under the tree teepee all the way to the back door!
This made it easy to come to the fully stocked kitchen for lunch, some rest time, then back on the slopes. We enjoyed a great family time!

We had an amazing vacation staying in this beautiful home. The owner, Rick, is so hospitable and just a text/call away with any thing you might need. The home is probably the best stocked rental we have ever had in our 30 years of traveling. Our boys loved being able to ski in and out. Chains or AWD vehicle are needed if there is a lot of snow as the home is located quite a ways up the mountain. We would definetly recommend this rental and hope to return in the near future.

Super clean ! Loved our time here … if you don’t like stairs - then don’t book , all rooms are on second level . Kids can not ski in and out - we are in great shape - and it was HARD to ski in / out . Kids would not have made it . - there was not a lot of snow while we were at AF , so maybe that makes a difference. ?!

Very nice home!
Cozy home high on the mountain. Easy ski in to heading home once you know the way! The driveway is not steep as with many of the rentals and the hot tub was a hit!

Beyond expectations
This place is so cool. First off, the owners are flat out, good folks (kinda wish they could have hung out with us for a day). At booking, the house fit all of our needs, at check in, the place was way cooler than we imagined. I get the feeling that Rick (owner) is a craftsman because the home has some great, old wood mixed with some Useful metal touches. My wife is a great cook and planned to cook all meals,, she was so delighted that Virginia (owner) had every single pot, pan, strainer, opener, container, utensil, etc you have in your own kitchen.
Our kids had been plotting out which bunk bed they were going to claim, prior to arrival. They were blown away at how much cooler the bunks were in person. Hot tub is awesome, ski in-ski out is bliss. Let me mention the rope swing that is a kiddo favorite as well.
Thank you, Virginia and Rick!

Ski in ski out home with personal charm
Staying at the house was a wonderful experience for the young and old of our groups. The expert snowboarders (2 people) had no problem boarding back to the house back yard while the rest of us had to exercise a little more figuring out how to make it. Lol . It was our first ski in ski out and it’s definitely cooler than having to pack up and drive to the lift daily. You do have to walk over to the second slope to board down if you’re not super experienced. Getting to come back for lunch daily was so awesome and energy saving. Teens have the freedom of boarding at their own schedule. My mother, aunt, and uncle were so in love with the sunroom plants and the surrounding scenery. They took time to explore every morning. We all loved when the deers would visit too. The house was at a great temperature and we had hot showers and shampoo. Beyond enough pots and appliances. You get used to the narrow wood spiral staircase after awhile. There was laundry machines and a bbq grill too. There was a handful of us that suffered altitude sickness, which is always the norm for me when staying this high up in Colorado. The 3rd night my husband bought a recommended can of oxygen boost and gave it to me. I was skeptical but figured why not and puffed in air maybe 4 times before bed and holy cow my heart finally stopped pounding out of my chest loudly. It decreased the extreme feeling by half and I was finally able to sleep and lie down.! Oh and the first night we arrived my husband and son did one run down the mtn and I just drove down the mtn to pick them up. It was so cool, no lift needed that day. We had few Baby beginners and the one run from our house to the base was pretty long enough, once at the bottom their dad drove down to pick them up and take them home. No lift needed for them that day .lol This house brought all our families together, we danced, sang, and played games together nightly. Thank you so very much for letting us stay!

Angel Fire House
The house was in a great location and is spacious. The owner was quick to respond most of the time. We did arrive early to Angel Fire and asked if it was possible to check in early and were told no. Owners were still there cleaning when we arrived shortly after 4. The only thing we didn’t think about was where the bedrooms are located. All bedrooms are upstairs. My elderly parents had a hard time getting up and down the stairs. Just something we will need to think about with our next trip.

Awesome home & host
The home was spectacular! We had a large group and everyone was comfortable. Lots of beds and space to relax. All the bedrooms are upstairs which was fine with our group. It was great snow this year so we were able to ski in right to the door. Our gracious hosts were very friendly and helpful. Had an awesome time in beautiful surroundings.

Beautiful Mountain Home
We had 3 families stay five nights in this beautiful home. Rick was very kind to help us all get up the mountain on arrival. If there is a lot of snow, 4 wheel drive or chains are needed. We had 6 adults and 5 kids and we fit very comfortably with room to spare. The home has everything you need for a luxurious stay - comfy beds, blankets, well-equipped kitchen, etc. It was wonderful to ski right up to the back porch when we were finished for the day. We had so much fun and when we come back to Angel Fire we hope this home will be available!

Very Enjoyable!
We had plenty of room for our 4 families to enjoy! The owners very helpful and even shoveled the driveway one morning after a snow event.

The owners of this home are great. We had a group of 2 families with 13 of us in all. Rick met us at the base and drove us to the home. He was always easily assessable both before we arrived and while we were in his home.
The home is ski in ski out but while we were visiting there was very little snow and,due to one slope being closed, we had to walk a little extra--- this was still better than driving to the base each day!! With normal snow it would have been very convenient. The garage was set up perfectly for getting on ski boots and was very comfortable with chairs and plenty of space. Inside there was plenty of beds that were very comfortable and easily accommodated all of our crew. Bathrooms were stocked with tissues and toilet paper, etc. The kitchen had plenty of pans and utensils. The only down side to this home is that there is not a good place for everyone to sit together. Kitchen has 2 tables but not in one area. There is one living area with couches but not enough for our group of 13 to sit together. We also struggled with the internet. We were not able to reliably get connected which was disappointing. Rick did attempt to help but the problem was not fixed while we were on the property. This also made streaming movies and other entertainment difficult. The owner did have a few movies but we would recommend taking your own games and movies since getting them off the internet was not possible for us. There is only 1 hot water heater so staggering showers is a must.
Overall nice place to stay. Clean and great owner who was easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you Rick.

This was a great house for a family getaway. If we could've changed anything, it would've been a TV in the kitchen and access to ESPN..but that would only matter if you have sports fans in the house that can't miss a game. I will be forced to find a pet friendly property in the future, (I didn't pay attention to that detail until too late) but if that wasn't an issue, I would rent again. Owners were very accessible and friendly and were there to answer any questions we had.
