First thing first the location was great quiet neighborhood ,short walk to beach, and close to a lot of shops and stores. Wonderful week with family. Now the house, there is a few things that are disappointing and some great things. Microwave is rusty and worn ,fridge is borderline cold, handle was rigged on and fell off, dishwasher was great to have not much soap for it . a/c is not great downstairs, in the bedrooms one is freezing, one is hot, and one was just ok we did not have vents blocked checked multiple times upstairs, a/c window units are loud . Hot tub was great awning is falling apart ,dirty with green mildew ,and way too low angle is way off. The back of house has green mildew, deck is worn and rough but ok. House was clean but could use a deep clean around faucets, cabinet drawers and freezer, plenty of dishes. Beware take TP only one roll in each bathroom, and no soap in bathrooms .with some attention to a few issues which would make a huge difference. Our family of 7and 2 grand babies made due with no major problems and had a wonderful week . PS plenty of beach stuff chairs , umbrellas,pop-up tent, and wake boards .also don’t forget laundry detergent (everyone uses something different)

We really enjoyed our stay here and the location was great! We got a golfcart to lug stuff to the beach because there is a little hill. There is also parking up there for cars or carts. We loved the hot tub being on the top deck because you feel so close to the sky and can almost see the sunset!

We had a lovely holiday here. The house is very comfortable, well equipped and well located to both the beach and the sound. We had no issues during our stay but host was very quick to respond to a question both prior to check-in and whole checking out. Appreciated the info on the fridge to check out the sunset on the sound from the neighborhood pier. Not sure we would have found that on our own and very much enjoyed taking in the lovely sunset from that spot!

This was our first time staying in Duck and loved the house and the town. Everything was accessible, the restaurants, breach , there was a small grocery store which was also very helpful.

The house was nice and well equipped and clean. The location in the town of Duck was charming and I enjoyed my morning walks exploring the scenic neighborhoods around the house. Private Beach access was available. My party of myself, my son and his girlfriend was very satisfied with our accommodations and would definitely stay here again.

This is the first time that my husband and I visited OBX together. Duck was the perfect choice to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! The neighborhood of Carolina Dunes north of the center was quiet yet still close to restaurants and shops in downtown (By car or bike).
It is an easy walk to the beach, and a very short walk to the sound, both with private access. The beach is never crowded, and has a lifeguard right at our entrance.
The house is well maintained, comfortable, and had everything that we needed, including the hot tub which we used at night. We even saw the Milky Way one night! 5G Wi-Fi access was excellent. We had no problem with the air conditioning on the top floor. We did put a little towel as a shade over the kitchen sink window to block the morning sun from heating the kitchen area.
The owner was easy to contact via text and very responsive with answers to questions.
We look forward to returning to Duck someday, and would rent this house again.
Note for improvement - the frying pans were clean and fine, but were Teflon and could be replaced with one or two ceramic coated ones.
Other notes:
The kitchen was stocked with plenty of spices and coffee filters leftover from previous tenants.
The Wee Winks market and two produce stands in Duck are convenient for last minute items or restocking mid week.
We enjoyed eating at The Paper Canoe(splurge), Coastal Cravings(non reservation needed), and the Village Table and Tavern. Thanks!!

The house was just as described. Nice rooms, all towels and linens included. Had some beach stuff for us to use. Quite comfortable.
Wish it had a pool or access to a pool

We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean, well equipped and the beds were comfortable. It was a close walk to the beach and the beach access walkway. Miss Tilly the duck was a welcoming touch to the house. Venessas was a wonderful host. She responded promptly to any questions.

Good location, clean property, and dog friendly made this property a good fit for our family vacation.

We had a wonderful time here! One thing we wanted to note was that it was more than a 5 minute walk to the beach especially since we had 4 kids under the age of 7. It was a breeze for our 7 year old but the little ones struggled a bit. We did remember to bring a wagon so that may the trip a lot easier. Just wanted to share our thoughts with everyone so you know the location! We loved the hot tub and the deck for relaxing at night! Will definitely be back to stay here at Duck specifically for the location to Duck!

This property was perfect for our family vacation. We had 8 adults and 3 infants and we had plenty of room to spare. It’s an easy walk to the beach. We brought a wagon that made hauling the chairs/coolers/children a breeze. We brought our own chairs even though there were plenty at the house. The 3 bedrooms downstairs were quiet and dark — perfect for the kiddos nap schedule. We did have one non-critical maintenance request with the property manager and it was resolved in under 24 hours which we were happy with. Overall, I this is a place I would certainly stay at again!

The owner provided some cool info about what’s around in terms of restaurants and things to do. Also really appreciated the heads up on the sunset watching location. Great, clean place, great location, and a hot tub to boot! Will definitely stay again.

Nice house with location an 8 minute walk to beach. Be sure to bring dishwasher pods and paper towels and garbage bags. None were available in the house. There was TP but as there were just two of us we were OK. It was warm upstairs (living area + master) as most AC was on 1st floor. Summertime may be a problem. I did notice there were window AC units in closet on 2nd floor so maybe they put those in when it gets close to summer. Hot tub is nice but needed servicing, which owner did promptly when notified. We enjoyed our time; house very comfortable and quiet. Thanks!

Had an absolutely lovely time here. Short walk to the beach where we let our dogs run in the surf while we watched the sunrise. In the afternoons, drove the short distance to watch the Corolla wild horses on the beach and dolphins in the surf. And drove south to play in the dunes at Jockey Ridge. In the evenings, enjoyed dinner in the town of the Duck and watched the sunset over the sound. And then, stargazed from the hot tub on the open deck. The property was clean and stocked with towels and a full kitchen. For those who are wondering about the fact that you need to bring your own supplies, almost every single rental place in the OBX is like this. I was happy we didn't have to lug in towels and linens here! The owner answered questions and provided some recommendations for the area and my family couldn't be happier. Will definitely stay here again :)

Duck is a lovely place to stay! House is short walk to beautiful beach. Hot tub was wonderful so didn’t the cooler temps over spring break. Everything we needed. Make sure you bring toilet paper and trash bags. One suggestion is the place could use a deep clean. Would stay again.

We had a nice time in Duck. The house is clean and comfortable. Be sure to bring toilet paper, hand soap, garbage bags and dishwasher tabs - they were not provided. The beach is a 1/4 mile walk and there is a beach access at the end of the road. It was a nice time to visit the beach. I enjoyed that Duck was less busy than the Nags Head and Kitty Hawk area. I recommend a visit and staying here is a good choice.

Overall the property was a perfect place for our family to spend some downtime between Christmas and New Years. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of plush linens provided. The hot tub was great! The living area was spacious and the large dining room table was perfect for puzzle making and dinners together. The kitchen was well stocked and the master bath shower that looked recently remodeled had good water pressure. The home is older and not everything is updated but that was fine for us given the reasonable price of the rental. Everything was sparkly clean except for the window sills and blinds which were very dusty- a deep clean would take care of that very easily. The home is located at the end of the block from the beach and almost directly across the street from a little park with a pier on Currituck Sound which has beautiful sunsets- we even saw about a 100 or so Tundra swans foraging in the icy waters! Overall, I definitely recommend this home for a vacation rental.

My husband and I booked this house for our 1st wedding anniversary because we wanted a bit more privacy than a hotel could offer, and honestly the price wasn't much more than a hotel room for the week. We LOVED staying here, particularly the hot tub because the stars are so amazing at the beach (coming from a city girl). There is a really cool area to access the sound for amazing sunsets, only available to this neighborhood. We went a couple of times and no one else was there. We went in off-season though, so I can't speak to how busy it is in the summer. Duck is an awesome place to go at the beginning of off season because there aren't many people at all and MOST (not all) of the restaurants and shops are still open.
Before you go though, you should know that you will have to bring or buy necessities like toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher liquid (you're expected to run the dishwasher prior to check out), trash bags (also expected to take out the trash, which is understandable but trash bags are required for that), laundry detergent, etc. There is a market very close to the house with OK prices, but I recommend going a bit further out to a grocery store. The selection of kitchen appliances, pots and pans, cutlery, and dishes is pretty good and much better than I've seen at other rental properties! Side note: HIGHLY recommend OBX Escape Rooms as a fun thing to do on a rainy afternoon.
For the homeowner: Please get a nonslip mat for the showers. There was one under the sink but it was super moldy, something black was all over it. The showers can be dangerous with how slippery they are and I think you'd protect yourself from any liability much better by getting a cheap nonslip mat or nonslip stick-ons. Also, thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful house. I hope that this review does not come off as negative, these are just a few thoughts I had while we stayed!
HIGHLY recommend this property! We will likely try to book it again in the future. As a final note, my husband and I only stayed in one bedroom, so I can't really speak to sleeping in the other rooms. However, they were decorated beautifully. Might be a little bit tight in the room with bunk beds, but for the price, I think this house is really amazing for a larger family on a budget!

Very nice rental. Updated. Just wish we knew to bring all our own supplies, with the exception of towels and linens.

The house was very dog friendly, which we loved because our dog goes everywhere with us. The house was very clean. Enjoyed our nights on the deck in the hot tub.

Duck, NC is beautiful. We loved that the rental allowed dogs. We enjoyed bringing the dogs on the beach to play and meet other dogs. Our teen and tween loved having the dogs with us this vacation to snuggle & play with. As a family of 4 plus 2 dogs we went to Jockeys Ridge & the Wright Brothers Memorial with everyone in tow and it was great. We could also walk the beautiful boardwalk in Duck with them.
The beach was so clean, lifeguard on duty, not crowded, the waves were amazing & the water was warm. It was heaven.
The kids loved riding their bikes everywhere. The beach is a 1 minute walk right down the road from the house. The house has lots of beach supplies so we didn’t need to pack anything. We brought a wagon but really didn’t need it. You want to carry everything to the beach because the steps down to the beach are a bit steep. Our backpack cooler worked best as well. The washer, dryer, outside shower & hose were great too. Fishing on the beach and on the sound side were fun. The house has a shared dock/launch/park on the sound side. Sunsets were amazing here.
The beds were very comfortable. The house had plenty of bath towels, bed linens, & dish towels. The two decks were nice as well & the dogs liked looking out over the neighborhood.
The hot tub was awesome and exactly what we needed after a long day. The only kitchen supply we needed was a colander.
We loved how many restaurants there were to choose from & we also loved the many things there were to do for all ages. Kayak tours, hiking, water park, biking, the amazing beach, shopping, fishing and so much more.
On the beach you are allowed to drink, bring your dog, fly a kite, basically anything except no fires & no fireworks. It’s a private beach so there was barely anyone there except Friday was busy. Everyone just leaves their bikes or wagons at the entrance and it’s very safe.
The host was very available and offered some great recommendations as well.
We have never been to OBX but wow we found our new happy place.

My family enjoyed a lovely stay at Carolina Dunes. Communication with the host was quick and easy. The house was clean and comfortable. The beach was a short walk up our neighborhood street--no highway to cross. The hot tub was a big hit. We appreciated the two floors: 3 bedrooms/full bath and two exits on the first floor and bed/bath/kitchen/dining/living rooms with exit on the second floor. Carolina Dunes is near everything--beach, shopping, restaurants, 4 wheel drive beach, bay...We had a great time :-)

House was perfect for four adults and pets. The location was great for walks to the beach and to the bay - and also into Duck center.

My family and I thoroughly enjoy our stay here. The short walk to the beach made the daily commute super easy even while toting two kids and a dog. A very central location to get into Duck, or Corolla easily. Well worth it!
