Your tropical tranquil oceanfront vacation home is just feet from the Caribbean waters, and far away from the maddening crowds and the bustle of tourist-saturated areas of the world. While you sunbathe you can enjoy the ocean breeze and be mesmerized by the turquoise Caribbean waters and sapphire surf only feet from your door.
Cayman Brac is a sister island to the highly developed island of Grand Cayman and has managed to remain unspoiled, making it the perfect antidote to the over-programmed resort vacation. Explore the island’s many hidden treasures while relaxing in your own private retreat. Whether rock-climbing, caving, shelling, diving, fishing, snorkeling, bird watching, hiking, walking the shore line or simply relaxing is what you desire, you will have a vacation to remember. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the laid-back island pace in a thoroughly modern and comfortable house that will immediately become your home.
Listen to the never-ending rhythm of the gentle rolling waves and feel the cooling breezes as you enjoy the warm sunshine and stunning sunsets any time of the year. There is plenty of privacy and you'll enjoy the small yellow songbirds and the island's native brown booby and frigate birds that seem to enjoy the lush, tropical surroundings. The visibility in the water is incredible and the coral reefs endless. The low temperature of the water in mid winter is 78F so you can swim all year long. We call Cayman Brac 'detox from life'. The most difficult part of your vacation will be packing your sandals and leaving this absolute tropical paradise and the fine comfortable accommodations of the house.
This oceanfront beach property overlooks the Caribbean and Little Cayman and has access to some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world.
Swimmers, snorkelers, and scuba divers can take advantage of the outside shower and freshwater rise tank.
Stores are closed on Sunday. If your arrival is after 7:00 pm on Saturday or on Sunday we'll do your grocery shopping for you - just send us a list, there is no charge for our time.
For your convenience I have also arranged a special deal with a local car rental agency for those who might desire it. For those who will be renting for seven days you will get your seventh day free. Additionally, if you pay with traveler’s checks or cash you will receive a 5% discount.
Bicycles for pleasure use (not as primary transportation) come with the property rental. You can also use the kayaks, snorkeling gear ($50/week) and more. If the bikes are your primary transportation, if available for that, we will charge you.
There is a full spa, and a full fitness room just minutes away. Inexpensive maid service may also available.
Outside ring cameras are used for your security on the street side facing the street capturing video of activity such as cars entering the property. There are no cameras inside or outside. The cameras light up (a turning light ring) so you can see easily see where they are located.

Stunning beachfront property with well-appointed cottages, great snorkeling spots, and lovely hosts. Unforgettable sunsets, amazing sea views, and comfortable stay.

My wife and I have stayed with Henry before so we knew the product he supplied. Location is fantastic. He was very helpful with solving an A/C problem. Everything was clean and well appointed. I had forgotten how much kitchen, laundry and outdoor equipment he has to use. If we ever go back to Cayman Brac, we will hope that Henry has an opening again for us to enjoy. Cannot recommend enough!

Cayman Brac is a bit off the beaten path, but has first world services. The cottage is very well appointed with the kitchen having all the necessities. Beds are comfortable. Water is safe. The community of Cayman Brac is very friendly. Car rental was mostly painless, but reasonably priced. The screened in porch is a huge bonus to this cottage. Although we didn't think there were many bugs, the porch gave a sense of security and shade that few other properties had. That said, it was sometimes quite hot, even in the shade. Late most afternoons the humidity seemed to drop off and make it more comfortable. The snorkelling off the shore was excellent, particularly 150 yards to the east. Getting in and out of the water was a bit tricky and dive booties were required. We were there almost three weeks and would go again. One negative was the absense of network TV, but the internet was fast enough to get the news otherwise.

Lovely beach filled with shells was 50 feet from a large screened porch! Bedrooms have view of the ocean! Decor was bright and whimsical; location was great. Island is small enough to bike anywhere and the snorkeling is wonderful - in so many places! Henry is a very accommodating host. The island is safe, people are so friendly, and we would certainly return to this cottage. And, caymanite is the native stone and only found on these islands! Go and explore!

Wonderful venue on a beautiful island. We loved snorkeling, exploring the caves, and lazy sunsets. Highly recommended. The property is 100ft from the sea; the Caribbean is your backyard. We love the Brac!

Wife & I spent 14 days in Sunset Cottage relaxing, 2 bedrooms 2 full bath sleeps 4-6 people easy. The screened patio is nice we did have a short period mosquitos after the rain. Henry had it stocked with everything you need, the water right out of faucet was great along with counter top ice maker, that was a blessing not to have to buy. Henry and crew were keeping grounds clean almost daily of fallen coconuts and palms. Plenty of chairs, lounge chairs and hammocks, bikes and snorkle gear were awsum. Location was great, we could take car or ride bicycle just up the road to eat, grab groceries or hang out at Scotts Dock, stop and visit with Barry and pick up some BBQ. Thanks Henry

Amazing location on the north west side of cayman Brac. Sunsets were gorgeous. Henry was an awesome host. We will definitely stay here again.

This property surpassed our expectation. We had the two properties in this location, and it was more than enough space. Perfectly located to all our needs. Snorkeling out front with my grandkids the first day we saw a loggerhead and green sea turtles. I also got to help relocate turtle eggs from the water line to higher ground. We will be back.

Just as advertised—we’re so glad we stayed here! Nestled on the beach just steps from the water. Big screened in front porch facing the water where we ate breakfast & lunch every day listening to/watching the waves roll in. This was ideal bc it’s shaded from the intense sun. We spent every afternoon after diving & early evenings in the many hammocks outside napping & reading (the 2 under the canopy were our go-tos bc they were shaded). Snorkeling was OK out front but got a bit challenging getting in/out given the current & coral. After a couple of outings we ventured to Scott’s Reef & another location where there were ladders to get in/out making it much easier—plus the snorkeling was even better. The house only has AC in the 2 bedrooms but by leaving the bedroom doors open the entire house cooled quickly & felt like central AC. It had everything one needs incl an outdoor grill & dunk tank to rinse my dive gear & plenty of spots to hang my gear to dry. It’s spacious & comfy—more room than we needed given it was just 2 of us but we wanted privacy & quiet & this afforded us both. Besides being oceanfront it’s also only 10 min drive to Brac Scuba Shack, min to 2 grocery stores & several restaurants. And bc it’s on the NW side we watched the sunset every evening. Only issue which wasn't major—the house wasn't ready when we arrived but the owner was kind enough to let us stay in the 1BD house next door that's also very nice! This is the only reason I gave check in 3 stars vs 5.

Outdoor furniture needs updating to comfortable lounging furniture. Sasha was very helpful. Overall great stay. Snorkeling was very good once you drove to ocean access point. Food was good but very few restaurants. Will return again!

A beautiful escape listening to the Caribbean Sea, watching beautiful sunsets, exploring the lovely welcoming island. The freshly cleaned cottage had everything we needed and Sasha and Henry were welcoming and accommodating. We really appreciated them picking up some groceries when our flight was delayed.
A highlight was seeing a huge sea turtle right out in front of the cottage!! What a wonderful adventure.

We have been to Cayman Brac many times, but this was our first time on the north west end, but we will definitely be going back there. We were met at the airport with our rental car and it was only a two minute drive to the cottage, which was in a beautiful location right on the beach, was nicely decorated, clean and well-equipped. There was a lovely beach where my wife spent many hours beachcombing for shells, etc.
The snorkeling right off the beach was amazing with lots of really healthy coral and an amazing variety of reef fish.
We are already looking forward to our next trip :-

After COVID delayed our return, we were glad to come back! Not too many vacation locations where you can hop off the plane and be in your hammock looking at the ocean within a few minutes. The BRAC seems to have landed on its feet. In fact we were surprised at the many new pickup trucks, and property for sale, road development up on the bluffs! So get here sooner than later! Still not a traffic light on the island.
Tom was able to complete his scuba certification with the professionals at local scuba shop recommended by Henry. Hired a local captain (also recommended by Henry) for a snorkeling and fishing afternoon over to Little Cayman. The fish we caught fed us for many meals along with rice and beans (we brought lots of staples) from home and sides from the authentic carribean restaurants around the island. Next time we will try to take the short and reasonably priced flight over to Little Cayman to explore before this gem gets discovered too. Trips to the local bakery for sandwich bread and cinnamon rolls were a treat. Friendly expats and divers from all around the world were happy to share adventures. Diving boats could be seen each day moored right within sight from the hammocks/screened porch at Henry’s. If water is calm, put on your dive boots (a MUST) and snorkel on out to see beautiful sea life. Beaches are rocky, very few sandy beaches. Really a scuba and snorkeling destination. Saw our one token iguana on road, cuban parrots, bats, turtles, rays jumping out of the water, lobsters, octopus, flounder, grouper, puffer fish, jacks, grunts, barracuda, tarpons, reef sharks and so many colorful fish. Thanks again Sasha for taking good care of us, and nice to meet you this time Henry!

Sunset Cottage is a lovely beachfront bungalow with a fantastic view. It was centrally located within a few minutes' drive of shops and restaurants.
The property manager Sasha was very accommodating and allowed us to use the owner's other property's beach when the sea was too choppy on our beach. The property was very comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

We had a fantastic week at Sunset Cottage. First time to the Brac and the property is well located in the West End Northside with convenient access to local businesses for shopping/eating. The snorkeling right out in front of the cottage heading east was excellent. Henry's advance information regarding the cottage and the island was super helpful and made it very easy to figure out how to get around. He helped arrange the car rental as well. The house itself was well equipped (although we were outside in the water or hiking most of the time). We will definitely return and hopefully stay at the Sunset Cottage again.

The view of the ocean out your back door was wonderful. The screened in backporch was spacious. The chickens that roam through the front yard were comforting. If you want the Ritz, fine dining and shopping, go to New York. If you want laid back with very few tourists bumping into you with activities like bat caves, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and just walking the beach, I'd recommend this place.

A great property well equipped and located. Plenty of room for my bride of 44 years and myself to spend 8 days there. It was a real blessing for us spending alone time exploring Gods magnificent creation in the Brac, our 1st trip. There was an extra bedroom that would accommodate kids or another couple if that is your idea of a vacation. Henry and Sasha take care in furnishing the cottage well and work to see that you are not in need of anything. We have been to multiple islands the past several years (not cruises, real visits), and we found the Brac to be the most tranquil and safest one yet. We spent most of our time snorkeling, on hiking trails including parrot sightings and some caving. The huge seaside screen porch makes a great place to chill any time of day.

Wonderful relaxing vacation
Sunset Cottage is a great place to stay in a wonderful location. It's clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. It was nice to have the screened in porch for sitting in the shade and having dinner in the evening. The hammocks were well used for relaxing and reading. We enjoyed the shore diving but unfortunately for us we had a very windy week with rough seas so didn't dive as much as we'd hoped. Cayman Brac is a very low key island. Not touristy at all which is something we really appreciated. It was nice to have bikes available. It's an easy ride to the only coffee shop on the island. Food on the island is expensive and can be a bit limited but we made the most of what was on offer. We had some nice meals at the Tipsy Turtle Bar and also ate in a few nights. Henry and Sasha are very friendly and quick to respond to any issues. We would definitely stay at Sunset Cottage again. Highly recommend.

Unforgettably Perfect for Us!
From the beginning, being met at the airport by Sasha with our rental car ready and guided to the property, everything was perfect. Walking in the front door and being able to see straight out the back into the sapphire blue sea was unforgettable. This property was absolutely everything that was represented in the description plus so much more. The day we arrived we went snorkeling in our back yard and were fortunate to see a nurse shark and turtle along with a myriad of other beatuful sea life. The other 7 days we dove 3 tanks a day both from boat and shore. Coming home everyday to this beautiful abode enhanced the experience of Cayman Brac. The Location of Sunset Cottage was perfect - close to Brac Scuba Shack, the store and the airport and shore diving sites. We loved Cayman Brac and Sunset Cottage and plan to make a return trip. Five-star location and comfort
Sunset cottage is comfortable, clean, nicely furnished, and well-equipped. The two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are on opposite sides of the great room, which is especially nice for privacy. The large screened porch provides a shady place to watch the ocean. We also appreciated the laminated guide to shore-diving sites! If there's anything you want that you can't find at the house, Henry owns the place next door and his property manager, Sasha, can probably bring what you need from the other property. Note that the Wifi signal was very good, but the cellular signal can be spotty (I heard from residents and other visitors that spotty cellular service might be an issue wherever you stay.)
The location is perfect, a quiet neighborhood, right on the beach, yet just minutes from shops and shore-diving sites. I had been concerned about possible noise from the nearby airport, but the flights are so infrequent that we hardly noticed. Hedges screen the neighboring houses from view, and there's plenty of space between the houses.
Cayman Brac is still an island where nobody locks their doors and you can just leave the keys in the car.
We were very happy with this rental and hope to stay here again on future visits to the island.

You won't be disappointed
The cottage is in the perfect location (the best shore snorkeling on the island is right in front of the cottage), Henry is super fantastic (great communicator, very friendly), and the cottage is very comfortable (especially the beds -- very important!) and well equipped. You won't be disappointed if you book this property -- we highly, highly recommend it!

Unsafe electrical, miserable time, dishonest and zero integrity.
Hi Potential renters, Please read my entire post. I will try to give the good and bad of my stay and the entire situation regarding our time and then what happened after. We booked this place in December 2018 Travelled April 27-May 15. My wife and I were looking for a beach front property for a much needed time of scuba diving and rest as I work a lot like most of us. The booking process was good. Questions were answered and it seemed like the perfect place. On our arrival the property owner or his associate was supposed to meet us at the airport. Instead the car rental agent met us after us asking around. No big deal. We got our car and followed her to the rental. His assistant met us there. We were happy with the place and it seemed like it would be a great place to relax and enjoy. That’s where the good part ends. After a short time the power went out. I thought no big deal. Maybe a circuit overload? Flip a breaker, go on. Good to go. Well no breakers tripped. I started to check unit to see just what areas the power in the house were off. The TV, internet and air condition, stove, microwave, refrigerator were all off? I turned a burner knob and all power came back on? I thought it was just a coincidence. We txted his assistant and tried to call using the phone that he leaves for guests but the phone had no service. After getting a hold of the owner and his assistant she came by to see what could be done. She informed us that they were aware of the issue and that the stove turns the power back on. Every time the power cut out the AC beep beep beep. After many days of having workers in and out with no resolution and being wakened 4-8 times each night, we called it quits. We had to move VRBO’s. It was not just us but our elderly Uncle was sufferIng. The owner agreed to refund my money. Said a check would be waiting when i got home. Check was there but only a partial refund and the check bounced. He didn’t refund any portion for the miserable time we stayed as agreed. (All in a email) i filled a dispute with my credit card company this last week. Can you imagine waiting to go on a vacation and, workers in and out many many times and sometimes unannounced. Have to pay again for another rental to have the check sent for half and then to have it returned? I did ask him to make it right but fighting us to make good. I’d look elsewhere for a rental. Very disappointed with this owner. First bad experience on VRBO.

Wonderful cottage, wonderful island
We had a fantastic time on Cayman Brac, and Sunset Cottage was a great home base. Henry and Sasha took great care of us and were available whenever we needed anything (which was not a lot since everything was so well prepared). The cottage is great and well stocked. Would definitely come back in a heartbeat!

The Brac is Best
We were very happy staying here at Sunset cottage. The location is breathtaking with bright blue seas white coral beach and palm trees. Great sunsets of course, facing west, and the best snorkeling we found on the island. Henry provided top quality snorkeling gear. We especially appreciated the dive booties for shore entries. He thought of everything guests could need in the cottage. Loved the screen porch, the hammocks under the sunshades, He and Sasha were very accommodating, always easy to contact, or checking with us to make sure all was well. Cayman Brac is unusual, like the rest of the Caribbean probably was 50 years ago. We saw more chickens than tourists. This is a special piece of paradise. If you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful unspoiled part of the Caribbean this would be it. Thanks Henry for creating such a perfect vacation place.

Wonderfull!
As advertised, great cottage in a great location. Everything you’ll need for a perfect getaway. Sasha was a perfect host there when you need her. Great snorkeling from the beach at many locations around the island. Henry arranged for a car at a great price and although our filight was over an hour late the rental agency was there and waiting for us. Will be back if we get the chance.

Sunset Cottage was wonderful! It had everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect! We enjoyed every meal on the screened in porch. Wonderful vacation !
We had the most wonderful time at the Sunset Cottage. If you want a very relaxing and laid back vacation, this place is highly recommended. The house is a little older than some of the other properties, but I believe Henry is making improvements all of the time. We did miss the swings shown in the photos as they were no longer there, but the view can't be beat. We are planning to return in the future.

Amazing sunsets
It was a very comfortable beachfront cottage with a secluded beach and great hammocks to watch the sun set into the ocean.
Henry and Sasha were very friendly and helpful.
I was able to get everything I needed and everyone was so friendly. When I wanted solitude I got that too. I spent most of my time in the enclosed back porch relaxing on a lounge chair and listening to the sound of the surf, away from the mosquitoes. On a clear night the stars were amazing.
It was especially nice to have the cell phone to use while on the Brac. I added some minutes at the market and was able to make several calls to the US for much less than if I had used my own smartphone.
I would definitely stay again on my next visit to the Brac.

Not in Ohio anymore!
Iguanas on the road, parrots in the trees, booby chicks on the bluffs, bats in the caves, octopus, lobsters, squid, tarpon, turtles and more under the sea! An island that still feels remote, but filled with friendly locals, happy tourists, and all the comforts of home. Thanks to Sasha for her attention throughout our stay including the personal greeting at the airport with rental car, wine and cheese sunset cruise and home cooked meal (she prepared the wahoo we purchased from local fisherman at the dock!) We loved the screened in back porch view of ocean, sunsets and early morning rainbow. Fully stocked kitchen, books, board games, and access to kayak, water shoes and snorkel equipment. We were able to travel light and leave with full hearts.

Beautiful peace and quiet on Cayman Brac
Staying at Sunset cottage was a wonderful experience. The cottage had everything we needed and the owner and his staff couldn't have been more helpful. The screened in porch was brilliant. Bonus free sunset cruise which was a nice surprise. The sunsets were glorious but the snorkeling was a little difficult - entering the sea over a rocky beach and coral. Loved the island and the slow pace of life. Just what we needed. We had no neighbors on either side, might not have been so private if we had, but not sure, We just loved how it was for us.

Little piece of paradise
This was our second visit and it was as great as the first one. Henry was great to work with reservation was simple and easy. House was clean and had everything we needed. Sasha did an awesome job, she checked on us regularly to make sure we were OK. The meal she prepared was excellent and the sunset cruise she arranged was awesome. We are already planning our next visit. Love the island, can't wait to visit again.

So much better than the pictures
My wife and I stayed there for 7 nights on our honeymoon. I don't think we could've ever asked for a more picturesque place to be. Henry and Sasha was very helpful with all the information about the Brac and the use of the bicycles and snorkeling gear. The people of Cayman Brac are also very friendly. Great people, great place! We definitely cannot wait to come back!
