About this house rental
vrKCV - Mauna Lani Islands K1, Professionally Managed by Kona Coast Vacations
Aloha -- which means hello, goodbye, and love. When you arrive at The Islands at Mauna Lani, you will think Hello and Love, but not Goodbye!
Villa K1 at The Islands in Mauna Lani is not just a place to stay, it's an experience. This unique all-inclusive accommodation offers more than just a roof over your head. With its exclusive fitness facilities and a location that puts you just steps away from all the activities you desire to do in Hawaii, Villa K1 is the perfect base for your dream vacation.
For those who are active and do not want to miss your workouts, tennis or pickleball matches, as guests of K-1, you receive complimentary access to the Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection Fitness, Pool, and Court facility. You will find cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, a 25-meter lap pool, a hot tub, a wet sauna, and tennis and pickleball courts. Scheduled classes (yoga, pilates, hit), tennis and pickleball lessons can be purchased separately. Very few vacation rentals offer such access to comprehensive facilities. This included amenity represents a significant value as the drop-in weekly charges are approximately $250/$450/$550 per individual/couple/4-person family, respectively. The Mauna Lani Auberge Resorts Collection offers golf, spa, and dining options. The Fairmont Orchid also offers dining options.
Villa K1 at The Islands is a private, quiet, and spacious 2-story townhouse end-unit with an abundance of windows offering Pacific luxury living. With 2600 sq. ft to spread out in, you will not want to leave, and if you do, you will soon return. The modern Hawaiian décor is show-home elegant yet perfectly practical. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, baking dishes, and serving dishes (indoor and outdoor use), small appliances (blender, griddle, waffle maker, popcorn maker, rice cooker, coffee maker, french press, Keurig, kettle, teapot) and an abundance of kitchenware. There are enough plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, and utensils for six guests. Care was taken to label everything, making the villa very user-friendly. There is also a private BBQ on your lanai.
The three King ensuite bedrooms are spacious and luxurious. Each room has a private lanai with breathtaking views of lush, colorful grounds and North Kohala in the distance. Lounge furniture on each lanai encourages a quiet solo retreat. The showers are incredible, and often, a guest comment relates to them: black slate walls with pebbles under your feet. Two spa robes hang in each bathroom. You will be impressed by the full-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in each shower. The towels for the beach, pool and bath are plentiful. Hair dryers in each bathroom, a portable lit magnifying mirror, and a portable lit magnifying mirror make getting ready a breeze and less to pack from home.
You will find many books in the home on island birds, sea life, wildlife, flora and fauna, many of which are right outside your lanai doors. If you are familiar with island life, you can anticipate early sunrise and early sunset, which is conducive to full outdoor days, and then feel ready for bed at 9 pm!
Just steps away from Villa K1, within The Islands, is a pool area that is more than just a pool. It's a tropical oasis complete with a waterfall, cave, and jetted hot tub. The area features a fridge, dining tables, washrooms, and numerous chaise lounges and umbrellas. With only forty-three town-home units at The Islands, the pool is rarely crowded, giving you the feeling of having your own private paradise.
Mauna Lani Resort has a Beach Club. Villa K1 owners are members, and by extension, as their guests, you are treated as one. The Beach Club is in a protected cove. Entry is gentle. Swimming, snorkeling, and sandcastle building are favorite activities. As a guest, you have free access to this private beach club. It is a 4-minute drive from the villa, and you can park your car in the secured parking lot. You can also reach the beach club by walking 1 km on a paved path that meanders through a lava field and ancient fishing ponds. With the Beach Club privileged access card, found in the villa, you are permitted to park free all day and have complimentary use of the loungers and cabanas. Fully serviced washrooms are a plus. Enjoy lunch or dinner at Napa Restaurant, a secluded resort eatery serving locally sourced, regional cuisine in an open-air, oceanfront setting.
The Shoppes at Mauna Lani offer a well-stocked grocery store, coffee shop, juice and ice cream store, clothing stores, and several restaurants, Tommy Bahama is a popular one! Snorkel Bob's can set you up with island activities and beach gear. Rent an electric resort cart from Resort Carts: seats four, hauls beach toys, and transports you around the resort to the beach, golf, dining, and shopping.
**The Mauna Lani Sports Club will offer limited access from July 22nd to August 2nd for Major Electrical System Repairs- Please inquire for more details**
Minimum night varies seasonally. Property is non-ADA compliant, non-smoking, and no are pets allowed.

We all enjoyed this place. It felt like home to us

Let me tell you about our stay…EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!! From the views to the cleanliness of the house…this stay was top notch!! I can’t find ANYTHING negative to say! Well worth the price!!
Enjoyed myself immensely!

A fantastic property. Beautifully decorated, had everything you would need and very clean and tidy. In a great resort too. Would highly recommend. Thank you

Home and area was amazing. Home was very clean and bathrooms where spacious. We had a wonderful time.

We’ve stayed in the Islands before, but preferred this condo because of the location - near the pool, farther from the road with a large grassy area in the back free from misplaced golf balls. We didn’t have young children with us, but this spot is perfect for those that do.
4.9
This beautiful property exceeded our expectations in every way, from the attention to detail within the house to the fantastic management team with their communication. Comfort +++ with the beds and furniture and the beautiful decor. All the extras in the kitchen, we could cook up a storm. Exceptionally clean!
Just a ‘please shut the gate’ on the front gate would be brilliant to stop the goats eating the beautiful plants.

We really enjoyed this house. The neighborhood was quiet and clean. The house was exactly as the listing showed and very well equipped. The bedrooms are all equal and very comfortable. We had fun visiting the resorts nearby for dinner and golf but also cooked at the house in the well stocked kitchen.

This large, beautiful house/condo is in an excellent location on the Big Island. The setting is quiet, it is near a fantastic walking path, has access to a beach club with excellent snorkeling and is close to a shopping area with a good grocery store. The property manager was helpful and responsive and the house was well-equipped. My only complaint is that vehicles must be garaged and a remote garage door opener was not provided. Only one car fits in the garage so if a group has more than one, extra cars have to be parked outside the gated area (the equivalent of 2-3 blocks away).

This property is beautiful, the online photos don’t do it justice. Very comfortable for 5 adults and one child. The kitchen has everything you would need. We were very pleased with all the kitchen had stocked. Very impressive.
the one area of improvement would be towels. Each bathroom has 3 small bath towels and there weren’t any extra, so we washed more frequently than we would’ve liked and we had to purchase our own laundry detergent. There are only six beach towels and they are small.
But we would absolutely stay here again. We had a wonderful time. The walking trails are great! Proximity to grocery and shops:restaurants is very convenient.
We had a lovely vacation!!

The property was exactly as advertised and more. The house was stocked with everything we could possibly want, and was beautifully decorated. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Best stocked vacation rental home we have experienced. Plenty of cleaning supplies, paper products, soaps, etc. Plus beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards to borrow. Beach is a 20min walk or 5 min drive. Be aware of Ironman Triathalon road closures during October.

We had a wonderful time at the K1 house in Mauna Lani. I have previously stayed at rental homes that looked great and had 5 star reviews but were not wonderful. This is not that place. It was exactly as described or better. They had everything you could need in the kitchen, and even little things made life so much easier (ie ziplock baggies, tin foil, laundry and dish detergent). We didn't have one complaint! Loved the chairs and beach stuff to use (wagon, umbrella, boogie boards). It was a fabulous location and the Mauna Lani beach club was so fun! We didn't even have to bring chairs there bc there were chairs available. And it was a great snorkel beach. I think we will just stay here from now on, it was perfect.

Beautiful
The home was immaculate and gorgeous. We loved the showers and the beautiful gray countertops. It was so lovely. Excellent place.

Best family vacation
Wonderful and beautiful property. Prefect for an all adult/couple family vacation. Loved all the extras for the beach and in the kitchen/living spaces. My only complaint was the temperature of the bedroom on first floor stayed warm regardless of thermostat and after reporting.

K1 at The Islands
The home is beautiful on all levels... furnishings, artwork and setting. The 3 ensuite layout was ideal for three couples. The location is walkable to the Mauna Lani Resort, which we did each morning for coffee and a walk on the beach. The property management company was terrific as well. Highly recommend, and look forward to staying again!

Very nice and functional. Overall the property is in great condition and nicely decorated. .
We were very pleased overall. A few minor maintenance issues most of which were resolved. The maintenance man was unable to fix the living room fan . An electrician was supposed to come by but didn’t .For 3 older co

Absolutely loved this home—elegant, spacious, and even more beautiful than the pictures. Multiple outdoor spaces to sit and enjoy the beautiful lawn, trees, and wildlife out the back. Truly appreciated the ability to use the sand toys, chairs, umbrellas, etc available in the garage. We had everything we needed. Only warning—for gym users, the gym nearby is an additional $250 per person per week. We opted and enjoyed hiking and running. Loved our stay!

Best VRBO ever
Best equipped and organized house we’ve ever rented. Well furnished kitchen. Many notes and instructions- all in good way. Will definitely consider in future.

Lived up to expectations!
This place was awesome. Great yard for the kids and plenty of room for all 5 of us. Very kid friendly and the pool is right next door. Access to the private beach and super close to the market. We are staying next year for sure!

This property is excellent, beautiful, clean and exactly as pictured!!! We loved having three master bedrooms. The house was well stocked and conveniently located next to shopping and a beautiful beach with calm, clear water for swimming and snorkeling with a beach club. We truly enjoyed our stay

Lovely house in perfect location
For the second time we rented this house at the „Islands“ of Mauna Lani. Great rooms with plenty of space for the whole family. Everything we needed was supplied, from kitchen to beach equipment. Great stay!
4.9
Perfect condition!
Nicest place we’ve ever stayed. Owners had EVERYTHING — and all of it was well labeled. It was obvious that the owners really were trying to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you.

Fabulous. More than we even hoped for
Great props. Great amenities. Liked so much we booked it for next year!

Delightful five weeks!
We’ve been renting properties on the Big Island since 1999, and this two-story town home at The Islands, a low-density development in Mauna Lani, is one of the best. The unit has been extensively and beautifully updated/upgraded, is very close to the BBQ/pool area and looks out on a huge expanse of lawn, plants and trees. The furniture and art work are tasteful throughout, and the kitchen is stocked with every imaginable small appliance, as well as plenty of stemware, flatware, crockery, and pots and pans. The rental company, Kona Coast Vacations, was excellent; staff responded immediately to all communication and addressed a couple of minor issues at check-in promptply and professionally. You won’t go wrong in K-1!

Excellent Property! Love it, WE'LL BE BACK!
This is an incredible home/condo. Any family would be happy here, or even a 'couples' vacation. We will definitely be back to this property in the future. Extremely nice, well maintained, clean and updated. You pretty much have 3 huge master bedrooms and an amazing living space. This property is close to the beach with great access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club. Only negative was that the community pool was closed during the month of May. This was a surprise to us, but the owner was very gracious in working it out for us. The pool area looks amazing, and I'm sure when it re-opens it will take this property from 5-Stars to 6..! (If only we could give it 6.) This was our first big family vacation to Hawaii and this property really helped make it special for us.
4.9
fantastic unit,
having 3 bedrooms, each with their own updated bath, was the perfect set up. The kitchen was very well equipped, the decor was updated and comfortable. Location was great, next to the pool and an easy walk to the beach area.

Stunning property all the bells. Pool is next door. Beach club is very nice. With such limited beach houses this is as close as it gets.

Amazing place! Can’t get better than this!!!
This place was amazing. Located right next to the pool and close to everything we could want to do. Pictures and description don’t do this place justice, it was perfect for our family and we can’t wait to get back!

Amazing Experience
This was our first time staying at this unit and it won't be our last. The condo was in fantastic shape and had all the amenities that we needed. The beds were comfy and most importantly, everything was very clean (from the unit to the linens) and we couldn't have asked for more. It's very close to the pool which is great, and the ability to access the beach club was amazing. The beach club especially was a huge hit with our child, who is young and still getting used to the ocean. The snorkling was great there too, since the waters are so calm.
We had a great trip and we're looking forward to coming back again soon.

Beautiful Home in a Perfect Location!
We had a wonderful time staying at this amazing vacation rental with some great friends. We had high expectations from the pictures provided, but the house was even more beautiful in person. We realized quickly that this wasn't your typical rental. Everything inside the property looked brand new and high quality, from the furniture to the appliances. Having 3 master suites and a large common area, made traveling with friends easy. The suites were large and comfortable, but the showers in each attached bath, added a luxurious bonus that can't be forgotten. In addition to being nicely furnished, the homeowner has provided all of the small details, from a well stocked kitchen to all the necessary daily amenities.
Being within walking distance to amazing beaches, golf, shopping, and restaurants made the trip even more enjoyable. The community pool (with a waterfall & spa) is located right next to the property, and also provides a small kitchen and a couple large gas BBQs to grill on. We loved the option of going on adventures or just relaxing at this beautiful property. Staying at this rental made our vacation so much more enjoyable and relaxing. We definitely won't be staying at a hotel on the Big Island ever again! We can't wait to go back!!

Perfect Big Island Paradise!
A five star, luxurious and well-equipped property in the perfect location. This condo boasts 3 large bedrooms all with gorgeous ensuites and is close to everything (golf, beach, shopping, walking, and more). Spacious and beautifully furnished inside and out, private balconies and lanais onto green space are your private oasis. Private, gated swimming pool steps away. Our stay could not have been better!

Mauna Lani, The Islands
It's easy to have a good time in Hawaii. The living is gracious at this luxurious villa located in a well maintained gated community with amenities, including resort beach access. Just a walk away are shops and restaurants as well as fitness, tennis and spa facilities. Our group enjoyed the stay immensely from daily cooling in the ocean and near-by pool, to dining out and "at home" on tropical evenings. Day trips to the volcanos, the observatory and the two main cities on the island, Kona and Hilo were memorable. We also found the quiet of the off season in early May much to our liking.
We highly recommend it!

The Islands Villa K1
My wife and I had the privilege of staying at the Mauna Lani Island Villa’s unit K1in early April of 2016.
It exceeded our expectations as it came complete with three massive king bedrooms all with their own deluxe ensuites. From the extra towels, to the robes, to the amazing bed we slept in, they have thought of everything. An upper floor office/workspace with an amazing handcrafted desk for those days where a bit of work follows you to the Island. A generous living/eating area with more space than you can use with doors opening from two locations to your private lanai. Modern kitchen outfitted with all the amenities of home and more for those days when you want to be creative with the Island fare and eat at home. Double driveway for parking a vehicle should you decide you need one but with everything in walking distance you could honestly survive without one.
Within close walking distance:
A beautiful pool /lounging area literally 50 steps away.
An independent, well stocked, reasonably priced grocery store.
A shopping centre with almost everything you may need including some of Hawaii’s best coffee.
Several excellent restaurants and a couple of hotels.
An amazing spa, health-club and tennis facility.
The three beaches of Mauna Lani are in walking distance and will take you through an area of old lava flow and fish ponds. Pictures simply don’t do these views justice.
The Beach: We are fans of the beach for several reasons, and Mauna Lani has three terrific beaches, we primarily used the one closet to the beach club parking. This one has great, beach-water access, has an excellent swimming area and offers some of the worlds most amazing snorkelling, right there. I have snorkelled all over the world, and for ease and access, this beach offers a variety of sea life second to none, and in a quiet bay where even the youngest or least experienced snorkeler will fall in love with this place.
Two amazing golf courses at Mauna Lani, we played the North course twice and the South course once. I love the contrast of blue skies, brilliant green fairways and the black lava that the courses have been carved into. But the most breathtaking golf holes I have ever seen, are located on the back nines of both courses.
We will be back again every year, and we would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking to have an outstanding vacation.
Sincerely,
Mick and Wendy
