We really appreciated this spacious, bright, updated, charmingly-decorated home looking out at the water from a bluff in Eastport. Mary the owner was very communicative and the house was an excellent base to explore the last undeveloped area of the American eastern seaboard (and a beautiful area at that). There were only minor issues w/ the property: the pots/pans were in need of an update, some of the rooms were dark at night and could use more lamps, and the path to the beach was rather overgrown. But overall we were very pleased and we certainly hope to return!

A lovely property with a homey feel and an amazing view. It was well stocked with everything we needed to cook family meals even a large pot for lobster boils. We appreciated it was only 3 steps to get in the house with bathroom grab bars for toilets and showers. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs but for family members with limited mobility, all the common areas are on the ground floor with just one small step down to get on the deck. We will definitely stay there again.

Best VRBO property experience ever. Best property and location and we enjoyed our trip tremendously. Eastport was the perfect, relaxing getaway and the house and property were amazing. We felt like guests at a friend’s home.

The property was as advertised - many house amenities - well stocked with kitchen, bath and outdoor activity supplies. Lovely view and we had great weather for the end of September. The owner, Mary, was very responsive. Late season is a little tricky if you want to dine out during the week. Not much opened other than on weekends. Plan ahead for that.

Staying at Mary’s was such a delight! The house was perfect! We saw seals, pilot whales, eagles and of course numerous loons from the deck. And being able to catch a glimpse of the Old Sow whirlpool from the house was also such a treat! The house had everything we needed and more. We’re already planning on coming back next year!

This house accommodated my family of 7 very comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked (an important detail for me) and the house even had a myriad of cookbooks to pursue while we relaxed. The view from the back deck is absolutely stunning! We spent almost all of our time out there. We watched a bald eagle fly over our heads every afternoon around 3pm and we watched seals play in the water. The kids loved walking the beach and finding sea urchins, sand dollars and crabs. We will certainly rent this wonderful house again!

The Maine house is as close to perfect as you can get! It is in a beautiful location with outstanding views. Nothing is better than waking up in the morning, lifting up your head slightly, and looking at the sunrise over the water. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the birds and porpoises. Such a beautiful setting!!
The house itself was well appointed and felt very homey. Anything we needed was provided. It was very comfortable. We thought The Maine House was easily the nicest vacation rental we've ever had. We will be back!!!

Watching whales in the bay. Eagles soaring over the bay. A very private property with a view of the bay looking across into canada. The nearby town was charming, and the locals were nice. Wonderful art. The property owner was very helpful letting us know what there was. Loved every minute of the trip.

It’s one of the best homes we’ve stayed at—very well equipped kitchen and lovely, large bedroom full of windows, and a great deck facing the bay. Great stay overall. And we fell in love with Eastport!

Lovely stay
We had a wonderful stay at Mary's lovely home. Her home was well-appointed and comfortable, and she was an incredibly attentive and responsive host. The sunrises and sunsets alone were worth the stay. And the star gazing was the best I've ever experienced (we saw Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus, and the outline of the Milky Way with our bare eyes). It was a wonderful, relaxing experience and I would unquestionably recommend this property for anyone looking for a secluded, quiet getaway.

Gorgeous property and lovely home
This is a dream location and rental home.
The property is large with a private beach - blueberries, raspberries and beautiful flowers line the walking paths. The tides make the beach very expansive during parts of the day - plenty of room for beach bonfires or picnics.
The home is nicely laid out for a group - with great shared spaces and enough rooms for privacy. It is very clean and well appointed with supplies (pots / pans inside and beach clamming suppliers, etc. for use outdoors). We felt Mary had thought of everything whenever we wondered if there were extra beach chairs, towels, etc. We loved the decorations that incorporated many elements of nature and the area.
Mary could not have been kinder with our questions - she provided great recommendations on the area and was very fast to address our emails / texts.
You are close to town - grocery, restaurants and some activities.
Make sure to bring bug spray (the bugs come out at night when you are enjoying stargazing on the great patio) and water shoes (it's a bit rocky if you are going to hunt for mussels and shells in the water).
Our families loved our visit and hope to return!

Lovely property
We loved staying at this wonderful property on the water. The house is beautiful with beautiful gardens. Perfect place to quarantine because you never want to leave. Walked the beach everyday at low tide finding sand dollars and sea urchin shells. The house has everything you will need and the master bedroom was a treat. Much larger than the pictures show. It was also a great place for my husband to work since it was really quiet. Loved the sun porch as a bonus room. Mary was great to talk to and to get us settled. WiFi worked great even when there were a number of us using it. Phones also worked great through WiFi for conference calls etc. loved our choice of house in Maine and felt very lucky to be there.

Eastport in Oct
We enjoyed our stay in this property very much. View is amazing and furnished very nicely. Wood stoves is great with plenty of firewood. Kitchen is fully furnished with about anything you need equipment wise. Master bedroom and bath are large and up to date. Only challenge there in Oct is trying to find which restaurants have closed or will be open and their hours. Overall very nice stay even with the Nor Easter that came through.

Kudos to Host Mary!!!
Excellent accommodations!!! Charming, comfy, convenient to restaurants and shopping in Eastport. The house is beautifully decorated with ample seating inside and outside on the spacious porch. Especially appreciated how well equipped the house was right down to tissues in every room! The kitchen had everything you could need or want. The selection of wine glasses was a perk.

FABULOUS!!!
We had a wonderful stay in Eastport! The house was wonderful and the listing was very accurate. We loved the beautiful beach (especially low tide) and the town of Eastport. The owner, Mary, also gave us a great list of local attractions which was extremely helpful. We especially enjoyed our walks on the beach, sitting out on the deck and sun porch, picking blueberries on the path to the beach, whale-watching, and eating lobster rolls and chowder in Eastport. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for ourselves and four kids. GREAT TRIP!

Wow! What a beautiful home!! My favorite rental ever!!!
I've rented at least 13 different vacation homes in various locations across the country and this is without a doubt my favorite. Every potential need has been anticipated - home is stocked with everything you might need. The home is spotless with a great layout to allow everyone their own space and ample room for all to relax together either on the deck or in the open layout living area. Our group consisted of 3 teenagers and 2 adults. There were bikes available for trips into town, games and movies suitable for all age ranges and a grassy area out front to throw a football. Add of course a gorgeous water view and beautiful sunny days - we didn't want to leave! This home is a gem!!!

Amazing Getaway
The home and area were as advertised. Loved being so close to Eastport downtown! Found the pathway to the beach a bit trecherous for older people, but the views were spectacular! Anything and everything you might need, could be found in this beautiful home. Will most definately reserve again and again!!!!

What an Amazing Property!
From the moment I found this home through several interactions with it's owner, to the incredible week we spent in this home to the thoughtful post-stay contact with the owner, our experience was simply amazing. The home is gorgeous - beautifully decorated and with everyone you could want or need available. We are from southern Maine and rented this home for our honeymoon. Owner Mary left us a lovely note, fresh cut flowers from the garden, and a lovely bottle of wine in the fridge. There really is no other place on earth like downeast Maine and Mary's wonderful "Maine Home" is gorgeous and incredibly comfortable. We've already talked about returning for our first anniversary. If you rent this home, you won't be disappointed. If you stay in this home, you will fall in love!
