We loved staying at this property. Concierge service was fantastic. Property is located within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The home is very spacious and well maintained. Caution to summer renters: there is no air conditioning in the main living area and kitchen so it is quite warm in the daytime. At night, there is a ocean breeze to help but still warm. The bedrooms do have air conditioning so sleeping is fine.

We enjoyed the house so much. Our grandchildren loved the tide pools in the lava rock below the house. Watching and listening to the waves day and night was the best.

Love this home. It is not only beautiful but located with the ocean waves just off the lanai. It is on a busy road, but noise was not a problem with the two main bedrooms on the backside with the ocean. Only thing is having to backup into driveway off that road. However, if I can do it anyone can with patience. I have stayed here 2 years in a row and hope to return in 2025. Great amenities and clean.

Wonderful property! Really enjoyed the house and location! Walked to town a lot. Great restaurants to try and also did some cooking at the house!
Great oven views and often saw dolphins and whales from the lanai!

Overall, it was great, but the high price definitely made it difficult to look past the inadequacy. The house is right outside of a busy “stop” intersection with a lot of cars. The windows of this home are not sound proof which made it impossible for us to use the bedroom facing the road. The main living floor doesn’t have any AC which is fine, but the ceiling fans are full of dust. The kitchen was well equipped and great to gather the family around. A lot of metal handles throughout the house had rust. If you can’t walk up a flight of stairs with your suitcase, this property is not good for you. Many different types of entry codes/methods made it confusing to check in, and the house keypads stopped working at midnight of the last day instead of 11 am check out time, which caused a lot of confusion. The management team was nice and try to make things right; they actually follow through with your requests. If the price was lower, I would have enjoyed the stay more. The view to the ocean was amazing and got to see some dolphins.

Very nice house, spent majority of time on the lanai. Fridge water and ice not working they were responsive checking it out but could not fix, should have gotten some ice for us given the cost but no biggie. Very well equipped great for cooking, awesome selection of beach gear which is very helpful and wish was provided by more beach houses. Busy street unfortunately a bit noisy but get used to it and doesn't bother you on the lanai

Great place to enjoy HI. Very comfortable house for the four of us. Couple of notes for future renters. Since it’s right on Alii drive you know you’re in for parking challenges. Just back in through the gate and you can fit two cars and plenty of stairs to get your work out in. Well appointed and clean as advertised. Kona coast management was very responsive with our inquiries. Thanks for sharing your spot on the ocean with us.

It was a great location and was as advertised. There were five of us staying there and it was perfect for us.

Great place to stay. Close enough to town to walk but also easy to catch the shuttle into town with the stop across the road. House is beautiful also. The views from the lanai are very impressive and a great place to enjoy a drink on a hot Kona day. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking to stay in Kona.

This house is unbelievable, the views, distance to beach and dowtown and even the lava rock pools out front. The owners have thought of almost everything you need to be comfortable. The sunsets are amazing. I could go on and on but this property is 100% what it advertised and more!

Beautiful property, ideal location

Property nicely laid out. Plenty of room for 2 families (4 adults, 4 children). All appliances, flatware, dishes, etc of very high quality and in excellent working condition. Very organized and not just a hodge-lodge of mixed plates/utensils, etc. The bath (multiple spray) showers took a bit of trial/error to learn but every outlet had high pressure and instant hot water. Bedding and linens was excellent as were supplied towels. Dressers, walk-in closets, lighting was plentiful. This rental house (per se) couldn’t have been better!
The area was convenient to the local town, shops, gas, groceries, walked to see fireworks (4thJuly), with the only negative being the proximity to the very busy and LOUD Ali’i Drive. If in the ocean side of the house the sound was less noticeable. Also, great backyard with crystal clear water right off the rocks. Unfortunately, access into the water would be challenging. The slick rocks make entry challenging so you have to be very careful! And certainly don’t let children try entry there. Otherwise it’s great fun to walk and explore the tide pools and see all of the fish, crabs, anemones, sea urchins, etc. But even walking around can be dangerous for children on those slick rocks… be careful! With care though - it’s a GREAT adventure for little ones.
Overall - had a fantastic time and looking to come back to this same house - in 2025, if not sooner.

From the moment you step in you have arrived...paradise! The location, the property, the home itself. Everything you ever dreamt of. The home is stunning, comfy beds & beautiful decor. Our family was beyond thrilled to stay here. We watched the ever changing tides, turtles, big tuna jumping right from the lanai. Would highly recommend this property.

This is a great house that’s well-loved, clean, organized, and has everything you need for a great stay!!!
The location is an easy walk or drive into town. Getting in/out of the carport is tricky at first, but definitely not anything that will hinder your stay. The view from the upstairs lanai along is worth it. I loved waking up to delicious coffee, the picturesque view and the sound of waves crashing on the lava rocks.
I was concerned about living areas not shaving AC but it was no issue at all. The bedroom AC units worked well and provided nice comfort for restful sleep.
All the appliances worked well and came in handy. The house comes with plenty of supplies for dishes, laundry and basic cooking. The passthrough window between the kitchen and lanai table is genius! If we ever travel to Kona again, we would definitely return to this house!

The views from the balconies were stunning and we loved falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the ocean. The house itself was great and had all the amenities we needed. The beds were comfortable, and they even had a couple of sheds on the bottom floor with beach accessories like a cooler, chairs, umbrella etc..
Parking was a bit tricky since it's best to back in and the house is on a busy road, however, you get used to just pulling in and waiting on traffic to cease before pulling out to backing in. The property management company was also super informative and emailed us with information several times before the trip started. The only thing that might be a con for some are that climbing up and down the stairs can be tiring for some. Otherwise, I'd say this property was definitely worth it if you want to stay with a large group in the Kona area. I highly recommend it.

The house was incredible, even better than the pictures. We enjoyed everything about being here - the views, walking to town, exploring the fish from the lava rocks on the water, cooking together, putting on the green, and of course exploring the island near and far. The house was beautiful and comfortable. Someone put a lot of thought into the decor. Even the driveway and pedestrian gates are beautiful. You can’t go wrong staying here. The only issue which can’t be helped is the noise from the street. The place it really affects in the house is the back bedroom. It didn’t bother us but it’s noticeable. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to the big island. We all wished we were staying here longer!

From our initial entry and throughout the entire walkthrough, the home did not disappoint. So much space and beauty then there was the view outside…breathtaking!
The large sliding doors/screens remained open at all times while we were in the home. I personally enjoyed the lanai every early morning alone with my cup o’ joe and the view.
The master suite was nothing short of spectacular with the amazing, spacious rain shower, gigantic walk-in closet it offered so much luxury for my husband and I.
Although we’ve been together almost 25 years, we’re not officially married, he made this official by popping the question and presenting me with a gorgeous ring out on our lanai, this made the house even more special for us!!
My son, his girlfriend and our niece thoroughly enjoyed it also. From the daily breakfasts prepared by my son and his girlfriend to the times spent eating our meals together either with the large doors open or out on the lanai, it was amazing just being together and celebrating our nieces high school graduation.
It was so relaxing coming “home” after each day filled with excursions, shopping, exploring, eating or just having a drink and soaking up the gorgeous sights.
We look forward to returning to your beautiful island and whether we stay at this property or another, we will definitely look to your company again.
Mahalo,
Stephanie

Property amazing! My family came different weeks. We all loved it. The only issue was backing into driveway with busy street. Only drawback and not enough that I would not want to spend a month here again. Mahalo!

The Hale Moana home has become our favorite place to call home in Kona. Unbeatable views and ocean sounds make you instantly relax and know you've arrived in a special place. The entire home, including the beds and bathrooms were incredibly outfitted and the kitchen has anything and everything a novice to a chef would need to make microwave mac-n-cheese to fresh grilled Ahi with all the luxury of a five-star restaurant. We did also experienced the amazing restaurants and downtown fun that is all an easy walk from the front door, but also treated ourselves to meals on the Lani at the dining table. Kona beans were bought just up the hill and ground every morning for a perfect start to our upcoming adventure each morning. When back, a three hole putting green was there for evening fun as well as that amazing view for anyone wanting to just sit and be. It is amazing and we hope you will find it amazing too.

The property is way better in person then what is shown on the online listing. The property is located just outside the busy downtown. The property has all the amenities you could need. This makes for a very comfortable stay.

Great place
Really nice place. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. The kitchen had everything we could ever need to make sunset dinners every night. Easy to walk to town. Make sure to back your vehicle into the driveway. Really enjoyed exploring the lava rocks and tide pools in front of the house. Highly recommend.

Awesome Place to Stay!
This was by far the nicest rental home that we have ever stayed in. The place was immaculate when we walked in. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need. The view from the Lani was unbelievable and we spend many hours just enjoying the outdoors. Outdoor storage units had many things that were useful, such as beach chairs and an ice chest. The design of the upstairs allowed a breeze, and we really didn't miss the AC. The bedroom AC units were capable of freezing you if you liked it that way. I would definately return to this home.

Stunning Property!
I can't say enough about this property. The photos don't do it justice. I along with members of my family were there to celebrate my 50th birthday and couldn't be more pleased with our decision to stay here.
Minutes from the several beaches, local shops and restaurants make this a perfect family vacation location.
This spacious house has two levels of living space great for entertaining and family gatherings.
One of my favorite things about the house is the lanai. The living room has two grand sliding doors that open up the living room, exposing you to the ocean air and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks. This floor does not have AC. However, opening the doors to the lanai coupled with opening the windows allows the breeze and ocean air to circulate throughout. The lanai extends the width of the house and has multiple seating areas and outside dining table for meals overlooking beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
My husband and I love to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. Two of the three bedrooms equipped with king beds and both lead out to a second lanai. Every morning consisted of sitting on the lanai with a hot cup of coffee watching the sunrise and at times dolphins breaking the water in the wake of boats that traveled by.
Master suite was very spacious and included a walk-in closet and plenty of storage space to totally unpack and make yourself at home. All bedrooms equipped with in-unit AC, and ceiling fans, and cable TVs.
The house is well equipped with with everything you could possibly need to make yourself at home. From an array of cooking utensils, outdoor grill, extra towels & blankets, beach towels, snorkeling equipment, fishing polls, small putting green, plenty of storage and drawer space and much much more!
Now for some things to be aware of. I wouldn't call these cons because the house and location is fabulous. The house is located on a main street which can be very busy. Be very cautious when entering and exiting the driveway.
Street noise is a factor especially during commute hours where traffic can be heavy. The third bedroom is located on the street side and exposed the noise. The rest of the house is exposed to the ocean side where most outside noise is covered up by the sound of the ocean crashing on the rocks.
There are so many wonderful things about this vacation home away from home that will certainly be a highlight of your Hawaiian vacation. Aloha!

Worth considering
Overall, I really enjoyed the stay at this property. Its spacious, well furnished, well supplied, and two of the bedrooms have king size beds that both face the ocean (this can be very hard to find). The bedrooms are very comfortable with air conditioning units in each room. I feel that as much attention went into decorating the second bedroom as the master. No one from my group stayed in the 3rd bedroom. it is well furnished, and nicely decorated (so it has an inviting feel) however the queen bed is a bit of a tight fit with the TV table. A simple rearranging of the room would solve that.
As a split level, the upstairs (main floor) is a bit warmer and could use its own air conditioner unit. Fans are supplied and useful. The kitchen is HUGE and a great place for family to gather as with the furniture on the ocean side lanai.
There are a few cons that are not the fault of the property managers/owners: a) yes, the house is conveniently located walking distance to the restaurants and shopping on Alii Dr. and I took full advantage of that. However, the house is only 3 houses south of a 3 way intersection. The road noise (Harley motorcycles revving engines, windows down and you can hear the music blaring from the cars, etc) at times interrupted the peacefulness of the day.
Overall, I think this property is worth considering and looking at. The pros definitely far outweigh the cons. I will definitely continue to work with this property management -- they were awesome accommodating pandemic reschedule dates and answering all of our questions. They are very responsive.

Perfect Location. Beautiful. well appointed VRBO
Beautiful property with a fantastic location! Relaxing ocean waves flow up on your backyard. We watched dolphins play and manta rays come for dinner at sunset off the edge of the lava. This home is well appointed with everything you need. No A/C in the living spaces, so a bit warm during the peak of the day, but we kept ourselves busy enjoying the island, so it wasn't a big deal. Bedrooms all have A/C. I would definitely recommend this property. Clint T.

Great location for day trip adventures!
Property was located in an ideal spot to grab dinner in Kona or to hop on the highway for any number of our cross-island adventures. Lanai was lovely to lounge on for coffee in the morning, and catching sunsets in the evening. Surf was such that we could not swim or snorkle off the back, but we found a few spots close enough that this was not a huge worry. Would be a great place for a large group, it was just 2 of us so much of the house/amenities went unused and it’s very well stocked!

Beautiful home in a exceptional location!
This wonderful home has many wonderful attributes. I can’t give it 5 stars because there were a few issues. To be totally fair, some of these are not in the owners control. The positives: Ideal location on the water and Ali’i Drive and a shirt walk to downtown Kailua-Kona. All the bedrooms are air-conditioned (we had problems with one unit not working initially, but the property manager, Kona Coast Vacations had someone out within an hour to take a look. It was fixed the next day). The view is spectacular! We saw dolphins almost every morning off the top lanai and there were frequent snorkelers in the water right behind the house. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need for gourmet cooking and plenty of cabinet space to store all your groceries. The back two bedrooms are very spacious. The putting green on the side of the house is a fun bonus and we felt very secure with the electronic coded gates in the front.
Some negatives: The elevator was inoperative. There are 37 steps to carry your groceries up to the kitchen and I believe 22 to carry the bags up to the bedroom floor. The house directly next door as well as the hotel across the street were undergoing major renovations and the days were filled with construction noise and fire alarms (from the hotel renovation). I realize the homes owners have no control over this, but it did disturb our peace. The top floor is not air conditioned, except for a small office. This isn’t a huge deal with the ocean breeze, but two large windows on the south side do not open making the living room stuffy at times. We had a maintenance person out to take a look, so hopefully this will be fixed in the near future. The washer and dryer are apartment size and the dryer took forever to get a small load dry. For a house of this size, it is unbelievable that someone put in such small appliances when the laundry room is actually very large. There are trees in the back that block the ocean view from the bedroom lanais. A trimming would remedy this. The cushions on some of the patio furniture were torn and mildewed. They should be replaced. There is a wine cooler in the kitchen that needs repair, as it never showed a temperature below 65 degrees. Also, the wonderful gas grill had no grill brush for cleaning. I know this sounds like nit-picking, but I try to give the owners some honest feedback from a family that rents vacation homes like this frequently.

Beautiful property
Beautiful property, very classy decor, the lanai was our favorite hangout. The view and the breeze off the water was so relaxing. I was worried at first because there is only A/C in the bedrooms but the way the doors and windows are placed let the breeze flow through the entire top floor where the living area and kitchen is and made it very comfortable, even in the heat of the day. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOUSE! The tide pools on the lava rocks in the backyard off the ocean were a pretty good substitute for lack of a swimming pool. The only downfall was the elevator was a bit persnickety and only worked part of the time, so getting luggage up and down the stairs was a bit taxing, but I would not let that deter me from renting again. Well worth the money!

A Spectacular Home With the Ocean in the Backyard
A great place to escape the crowds and support local businesses. Located on the leeward side close to Kailua-Kona and Honokohau Harbor. Lanai is perfect for morning coffees and sunset viewing. Would definitely like to visit again.

Our stay at the Moana Kona was as expected. Spacious, clean, well equipped unit with exceptional views. We did have issues with the washer and dryer. Management was quick to respond; but it seems the units may have reached their end and will most likely need replacing.
Lastly, just a warning as we had multiple white shirts, blouses and shorts ruined by rust marks while leaning against the (wire portion) railing on the lanai. It wasn't until the last night that we figured out where we were getting the rust marks.
Overall tho management was very responsive and the home was perfect for our needs.

Nice place, some of the best snorkeling on the whole Kona side just off the front rocks, but can be a little sharp. Very recommended and great place to stay!

In the Heart of Kona yet Private!
This is a great spot. Seems busy when you pull in (because it is close to downtown Kona) but the ocean in the back drowns out everything and you have your own private oasis. Swam off the rocks in the back. Swam out to the turn around buoy for the Ironman which is in your back yard. Beds are comfortable and house has tons of space. Kitchen is on third floor but there is an elevator to send your groceries up! 5 beach chairs are great for beach hopping or you can take them out on the rocks in your own back yard!

Beautiful house
From the initial booking until final checkout everything was professional and simple. The house itself is right on the ocean and within walking distance to a small beach and also to the local shops and restaurants. Bedrooms were air conditioned and had dehumidifiers which made it a nice comfortable area to sleep for us desert people who are not used to humidity. Would definitely recommend this house.

Everything was fantastic. We spent most of our time sitting on the lanai enjoying the sound of the ocean.

Wonderful house; Perfect Location
This house is perfect for three couples or a family. We stayed with our two adult children and their spouses. The upstairs living area is fantastic! The kitchen is large, very clean and well equipped. A large kitchen island makes it easy to prepare meals for a group. The very comfortable living area opens fully (with disappearing windows/walls to the large balcony lanai making the entire living area flow to the outside. We loved that. There is a large dining table on the lanai and comfortable patio furniture. What a relaxing setting to enjoy family, meals and scenery. Overall the house is very clean and well kept. (We've stayed at 12-15 VRBO homes in various locations throughout the years and this one rates in the top two). The people at the management company (Kona Coast Vacations) are great - friendly and helpful. They left a basket of Hawaiian goodies upon our arrival. They booked an activity for us, checked in after the first day to be sure everything was OK, and delivered clean beach towels when we couldn't figure out how to work the dryer (it was operator error!) The town of Kona is nearby for shopping and restaurants. A few things to be aware of: there is an elevator so you don't have to lug your luggage and groceries up two flights of stairs, although we were challenged a bit with getting it to work properly - but again, the Kona Coast people are a phone call away and very responsive. There is room for two cars to park under the house but it takes two people to get a car out of the driveway - one to drive the car and the other to hold traffic on the road so the driver can back out. The street is a little busy but you don't notice it at all inside the house because the house faces the water. Overall, this is a perfect house in a perfect location.
