This property was perfectly located for easy walking to everything. The hosts were very accomodating and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. We would absolutely stay here again.

Beds and pillows were the worst we have had at a VRBO. Ended up sleeping on the couch for two of the three nights. Bathrooms are both down a flight of stairs— not on the same level as bedrooms or living room. Not recommended for anyone with health issues. Many stairs to navigate to access the rooms.

We enjoyed the neighborhood. Property is dated but check in was smooth and we had a wonderful time iin galway!

Lovely older building with lots of personality. We were sad to leave!

This residence was located in a great area and very convenient to the fun part of town. Our weekend in Galway was so much fun with so many things happening.
That said, we were disappointed with our lodging. Primarily, it should be mentioned in the listing that it is 3 flights up (no elevator) and another flight down for the bathrooms. The pictures of the living spaces really didn’t look like the rooms. The twin bedroom beds were not terribly comfortable. Fortunately we travel with all of our toiletries because there were no soaps or shampoos.
It was a very flukey time in Galway and very warm. We touched base with Liz as there was only 1 fan. Peter was extremely responsive and brought us a fan on our first night.
Finally, and I know I must sound petty, but I was very disappointed that we did not have the Welcome Basket that is mentioned many times in all the listings.

Location was perfect! Really perfect!!
Literally 2 minutes walk to the finest restaurants in town. And 2 minutes walk to the grocery store. Yet perfectly quiet
My wife and I kept saying how lucky we were to have found this apartment. Worth every penny and more

The accommodations at our Devin Place apartment was very good! Location was a 10 minute walk from where it all happens in Galway. It is a quiet part of town and I believe that all of the other “apartments” are actually businesses, so the entire black is quiet after 5 pm and before 8 or 9. To be honest, it was quiet all the time.
The kitchen was well equipped, the two bedroom, spacious and mostly comfortable. The family room was huge and was very comfortable as well! We were very happy with our stay!! Ireland and in particular Galway is a wonderful city with an awesome atmosphere! Highly recommend you include the city, and this apartment in your plans!

This property was just what we needed for my family’s trip to Galway. Located a short walk from the center city. it was spacious and quiet. It was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. Tesco was close by so we were able to pick up groceries easily. Highly recommend!!

Lovely accommodations, very neat and clean.
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment located in a very nice neighborhood. Three of us, grandmother, mother, and daughter, occupied the apartment for a week. We were able to walk downtown or get public transportation very easily. Several nice restaurants were within walking distance. The apt was furnished with the basic food items needed to get started the first morning (and we arrived late at night), so that was a blessing. We would recommend these accommodations to anyone.

We loved the location. Easy walking to Salthill Promenade, the Latin Quarter, and Eyre Square. A full grocery store was around the corner, although the thoughtful welcome basket and stocked refrigerator meant we didnt need to immediately run for groceries. Loved being able to do laundry while we stayed. The layout is perfect with the 2 bedrooms nicely separated, providing privacy. Everything we needed was there. Would definitely stay again. The only real challenge was parking. We had a compact SUV, with side mirrors that couldnt be pulled in once the engine was started. There were only INCHES to spare on either side of the driveway. Still cant believe we didnt scrape up the car on the side of the buildings!

Nice place for a family stay
Our family of five enjoyed staying at the Silver Teal property. The one thing I would recommend to improve the experience would be more timely check in instructions. Galway was the last place we visited in Ireland, so we left the USA over a week before our arrival. It would have been nice to have lock box info before we left, since WiFi was spotty during our travels. (Maybe we should have arranged for international cell coverage.) The townhouse was clean and comfortable. The complimentary food basket was so appreciated. We got there a bit late after taking the train from Dublin. There was plenty of food for a light dinner and breakfast the first morning! It was an easy walk to all the sights and shopping in Galway. A great location.

Perfect home base
We had great access to all the joys of Galway from our comfortable apartment! Cathy was a superb hostess and gave great local tips! Everything was easily within walking distance.

Perfect
My family had such a great stay at the Crescent! Cathy made it feel like a home and provided us with just the right amount of food to cook our own breakfasts before we ventured out each day. There is also a grocery store less than a 5 minute walk from the flat that has anything else you may want during your stay. The flat is located in the perfect area, very quiet and is only about a 10 minute walk or less to the heart of the Latin district where there are numerous pubs, restaurants, and stores. We walked to this area every night for dinner and to people watch. Unless you’re exploring beyond the city you don’t need a car. The flat itself is well appointed with everything you need as well. Comfortable living room, beds, and also a washer and dryer which was great. Cathy was a great host and made checking in so easy and great suggestions of things to do. I would absolutely stay here again and will tell anyone visiting Galway to stay here.

Lovely Property!
My friends and I could not have picked a better place to stay on our weekend trip to Galway. Cathy Morgan made us feel so at home from the moment we arrived at the property. Stephen who runs the building greeted us as we arrived and made sure we checked into the property without any issues. All of the beds were made perfectly and the apartment was filled with everything we needed, including a fridge full of groceries! The walk into the city centre was so quick and so easy! The location is beyond superb! I'm so happy we chose to stay here and I can't wait to make another trip back! Thank you for opening up your home to us!

Great Location and Great Host
Cathy was there to greet us and show us around - she provided us with excellent ideas for our stay in Galway! The apartment was extremely well equipped and centrally located which allowed us to walk everywhere to explore this beautiful city. Her thoughtfulness for Mother's Day was greatly appreciated and we would highly recommend this lovely apartment!!!

Best Home Away experience ever. The property is exceptional. Next time in Galway we will stay there
Cathy and her staff welcomed us in person. It was a very warm reception. The welcome basket and fridge were stocked with all the essentials. The home is warm, comfortable and well appointed. All appliances are provided for comfort. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms gave us the comfort needed. The home is in an upscale neighborhood and we felt very safe at all times. Restaurants and supermarket are near by. It is across the street from a beautiful bird sanctuary and walking distance to the ocean. Even though we had many things to do and see in Galway we felt comfortable staying in a couple times. We have experienced Home Away rentals a few times, this was by far one of the best. Next time we are in Galway we will definitely stay there. The entire home was in exceptional shape, no need to contact Cathy for any problems. Our stay in Galway was exceptional and having such a great home every night made it so much better. Thank you Cathy for welcoming us and for your graciousness. We hope to see you soon. Michael, Pauline, Ed and Nicol.

Home Away From Home
In April we visited Galway where our son was studying @ NUI for the semester. The Silver Teal apartment was perfect for our needs! We loved it! The apartment was so comfortable, spacious and clean. Exactly what we needed for our family of 4. We were able to walk to all the great pubs and other attractions. Cathy greeted us upon our arrival and provided a wonderful welcome basket of goodies (fruit, cereal, scones and breakfast meat/eggs in frig). I would highly recommend booking with Silver Teal. Great vacation!!! Snow Family

A Winter Week in Galway
Our family of four (young adult children and parents) enjoyed a tremendous week of vacation between Christmas and New Years in Galway and the surrounding area. The Silver Teal apartment was a perfect base for our adventures. We were warmly greeted by Liz and the welcome basket of groceries was a lovely way to start our week. We did a mixture of eating in and out, and the kitchen facilities were more than adequate for our needs. The washer and dryer were much appreciated as we got both wet and muddy in our explorations. The apartment is homey and very comfortable. There are books, puzzles, and information about area sites. Many good restaurants are close by and we found it easy to find good live music at nearby pubs in the evenings. It was a cold week while we were there, and the apartment was occasionally chilly (particularly the bathrooms at night). But abundant blankets and wall heaters were available, as well as a fireplace in the living room, so it was manageable. The apartment is an easy walk to the city center and all that Galway has to offer. (We loved the raspberry scones at Griffins.) An excellent grocery store is a short walk away. We only used the car for more distant destinations. With the bus tours available for beautiful Connemara, the stunning Cliffs of Moher, etc., I think we could have gotten along fine without one. If you like a challenging hike/climb, consider the Croagh Patrick, about an hour's drive from Galway. On a clear day the views are amazing, though you'll want to bring sturdy shoes and warm clothing, as well as water and a sandwich, especially if climbing in winter. The wind was cold and powerful! (FYI, If you are considering traveling during the week following Christmas, quite a few restaurants, shops and attractions are closed. There is still plenty to do and see, however.)

Great location, safe and quiet
We arrived in a rainstorm, not unusual for Galway in March, and the welcome we received made us feel so good! Liz gave us a tour of all of the units, and each is very nice. Three of us shared Silver Teal and we were extremely comfortable. Two large bedrooms, large bathrooms and a huge kitchen including a washer and dryer, made the stay especially convenient. (I try to be a light packer, and found it helpful to do laundry mid-week.) The unit is close to everything, and we felt like "locals" after a week. With all of the wonderful restaurants and historic sites in Galway, we were out all day every day wandering around town and enjoying the ambiance. We found a good taxi tour driver through the Irish Tourism office so we were able to take two tours of Cliffs of Moher and Connemara (we did not rent a car). It was great to come home every night to our "home" in Galway. They have units for almost any size group. Thanks again, Liz and the Galway crew!

Fabulous Accommodations
Multi-generational family visiting Galway to meet relatives for the first time and see cottage where great grandmother lived before immigrating to the US. We rented the Silver Acres apartment for my 70 year old parents which was basically on the ground floor. However they would have been fine with the stairs. The rest of us stayed up in the roomy Silver Teal. It met all of our needs. The welcome basket lasted all week...and was very tasty. We did not rent a car and was able to walk everywhere in town with no problems. Liz was great. She communicated before the arrival for logistics and with check-in the day of arrival. I'm actually writing this review now as I had forgotten to do it and received a "Happy Thanksgiving" email from Liz that really was a nice touch and reminder of our trip. I would highly recommend this rental and would stay again on my next visit. Ireland was absolutely beautiful both in scenery and people.

A Wonderful Stay
We are a group of 4 ladies in our 60's visiting Ireland for the first time. We stayed at The Silver Teal for 4 nights. We were met at the apartment by Liz. She gave us a tour of the premises and shared some recommendations for places to eat and tours that she felt we would find interesting.
On our first day there was a shortage of hot water. We suspected that the apartment has been empty prior to our arrival as there was plenty for the subsequent 3 days. The beds were comfortable; plenty of towels and bed linens. A large basket of food was a surprise. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. We found the entire apartment very comfortable and welcoming.
Within walking distance we found The Crane Pub. In the upstairs space there was a jam session every night beginning around 10 or 10:30. This was awesome! There were recitations, singing in the Irish language and musicians from around the world who came together. It is a very small space ; very lively but when someone decided to sing the entire place fell silent.... So respectful and appreciative .
The apartment is in an ideal location (we did not rent a car); the pictures are accurate and we found it to be clean. We would recommend this apartment to anybody who does not have issues with mobility. The stairs leading to the apartment might be difficult for persons who have physical challenges.

Quirky, But Right
Silver Teal Apartment is a delightful spot, close enough to all the Galway pedestrian action, but at enough of a remove that it's quiet and serene. The apartment has a slightly odd layout (the two bathrooms are side by side down a half-flight of stairs), but when you think about it...why not? Liz was attentive and full of excellent suggestions for eating and entertainment (try the fabulous Kai just up the street). There was a veritable feast of towels, thoughtful selection of food items for our initial consumption, and the beds were incredibly comfy. Hot water on demand! And probably the best washer/dryer I've found in Ireland/Britain (notoriously slow and feeble for North Americans!) The apartment itself is spacious (we were a family of 4 with teens, plus my husband's brother), and we never felt as though we were on top of each other. Plus, we had a family dinner for 9 people at the massive dining table! You do have to walk up, but we were in western Ireland to go hiking, so we weren't bothered in the least, but it might be an issue for folks with mobility issues. The kitchen in general was well-appointed (though I could never find the frying pan and a wok isn't quite the same). Word of warning, particularly for North American drivers used to left side steering wheels and left side driving (oh, and ample roadways): the passage to the back parking space is TIGHT. Keep as close to the wall as you can on the driver's side, and you should be fine. Also, tuck in your side mirrors prior to attempting the narrow passage!

A Gem of an Apartment in Galway City
The Silver Teal Apartment in Galway more than lived up to our expectations. Having previously spent 4 nights in the Dublin Cork St. Apartment managed by the same person, we were not disappointed. The bedrooms were spacious and there were two well-appointed bathrooms which was great, since we were two couples travelling together. As in Dublin, the welcome basket was a delightful surprise and the fridge was already stocked with essentials that made grocery shopping unnecessary. Having a washer and dryer was a great benefit after spending a week at B&B's. The property was clean, bright, and very quiet at night. It was nice to be able to park the rented car for t he 3 days we were there as all the city centre attractions were within easy walking distance, as was the lovely waterfront. Liz was an amazing guide, providing us with dining and entertainment tips. We would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a place to put down roots for a few days and explore a wonderful city with a fascinating history. Our favourite pub was Ward's pub, a short walk from the apartment where we heard the best traditional music of our entire 14 day trip. If we ever have the good fortune to return to Galway City, we will certainly book the Silver Teal Apartment again.

Still Great!
Well, my fourth visit to your lovely vacation home did not disappoint. I so enjoy climbing the stairs after a day of visiting the local sights (this year was able to take my friend Brian to the Aran Island of Inishmore with fantastic weather; wonderful!) to find myself happily ensconced in the Crescent. Your welcome, Cathy, was warm and generous as ever (what a basket!). What I so enjoy are the possibilities a stay at your home provides. As other reviewers note, there are wonderful restaurants nearby (Cava, Rouge) and great pubs (The Crane, Monroe's). But one can also cook. I learned how to make Aunt Mona's (family from Ballina in Mayo) bacon and cabbage this trip and was able to prepare a pretty good reproduction of the dish in your kitchen. Delicious! Next year I believe I will be traveling with my Mother and, alas, at her age she will not be able to climb the stairs to Silver Teal. But, hey-ho, you have solved that situation! I can stay at the wonderful Coach House! When you gave me a tour of this newly renovated apartment I thought this would be perfect for our family and a wonderful place to stay. So nicely appointed! Under floor heating! If it isn't in the Coach House you probably don't need it anyway. What is most important is that one still gets to stay in this location; the Crescent is a fabulous place to begin exploring Galway. Just a few minutes walk from everything! The Coach House looks to be a fantastic place to stay and I know my mother will love it. As much as I've enjoyed my many stays at Silver Teal. What more can one ask? Look forward to seeing you, Declan and family next year! Keep well, Ed

Perfect Apartment in Galway
This apartment was exactly as shown and described on the website -- maybe better. The owner was so helpful and welcoming. On our first jet-lagged day, she even drove us to the bus station to pick up our daughter! The apartment is charming and spacious. We found it to have plenty of room for 5 people (2 adults mid-50's and 3 adult children) The kitchen was well-equipped and the welcome basket provided was so thoughtful and had enough food to get us started without having to run out to the store right away. The location was perfect for us...a little outside of town center, but an easy walk. (about 10 minutes to the Spanish Arch) We liked being a little outside of the hubub for a quieter place to rest up at night. The only negative for us was a tight parking situation -- drive in carefully..But that was a minor factor in an otherwise perfectly charming set-up! Thank you Liz and Cathy!

Perfectly Awesome Stay and Apartment
My wife, son and I were visiting my daughter, who is in Galway for a semester abroad program, for a week. The apartment was a perfect location for exploring Galway and beyond. It was comfortable and was a great base of operations for our exploring. The apartment had plenty of Irish charm and is located just on the edge of the town, which enable you to be in the middle of it within minutes, thus adding more Irish charm. We rented a car to see the sites on the West Coast and it was nice to have parking off the streets to eliminate the worry about the care, when it was not being used. Out hosts, Liz and Cathy could not of been more helpful to us prior to and during our stay in Galway. They have also served as a resource for our daughter, while she is there. It does not get any better than this. Highly recommeded by us !!
