What a house! This was one of the best weeks that we have had as a family! We had so much space, well appointed with furniture, beds, plenty of towels and a full kitchen! The large table and extra chairs is perfect for an oversized family. The ski in and out access through Natawista was the easiest we have had an any home. A dedicated ski mudroom was the best.
The management company responded quickly to emails and the book describing literally all of the details for the home (the movie rooom, hot tub, ski in/out left nothing uncovered!
We did find the cleaning to be sub par (lots of food under the chairs, piles of dust behind the nightstands, things from previous people under two of the beds). Emails were send and responded to, but no one came out (And it was never even offered) to actually clean and make it right. Manager assured us that the cleaning service would be spoken to which was great. It would not at all be a reason not to stay, just was surprising service-wise for the price!
Would (and will!) stay again in a heartbeat!

Stunning views from the living room, amazing ski on/off access, the boot dryer and gear room were a huge plus, hot tub on the deck with the view was epic, and the house layout/interior was very comfortable. Having a nice fireplace, comfortable couches and seating, and a huge dining room table was perfect for bringing everyone together before and after a day on the slopes. The photos on the walls were also cool! Lots of autographed Warren Miller posters and athlete’s 8X10’s. The snowcat came right up to our house a few times and groomed a path off our deck to Natawista. Drinking a beer and watching a 10-ton machine groom a path just for you and your friends to ski on makes you feel like a boss.
Overall, staying in the house was a great experience. My only real issue with the house was the tiny kitchen and the lack of basic kitchen equipment - also the dishwasher was broken, and that was a bummer. It is awesome if you don't need to do much cooking!
Pluses:
• Amazing trail access! Truly a “ski on, ski off” experience. The trail Natawista was literally in our backyard!
• House three had an AMAZING view from the main living room area.
• House three came with a huge boot dryer that could accommodate 10 pairs of ski boots. A super helpful piece of equipment to have.
• Loved the hot tub on the deck.
• The bathrooms were luxurious and spa-like with big, elegant showers.
• I appreciated having access to a washer and dryer to wash our smelly ski clothing.

Fantastic home fit our family of 10 great. 10 steps to slopes. Perfect location for a winter trip into Yellowstone as well.

One of the most convenient ski-in/ski-out homes. Only a few steps from the home to Natavista which leads directly to 6-shooter. Also very easy to find from Natavista.
The house was comfortable and clean, but the appointments were not top notch. The lighting throughout was not great, the cookware was mediocre at best, the TV was only of average size and not perfectly positioned for viewing among a large group.
Still, overall a comfortable stay.

This is the first family trip we've taken to Big Sky. We had skiers/boarders ranging from beginner to expert. The terrain was fantastic and we lucked out with great weather conditions. The house was as described - literally the slopes were steps from the back deck. Everyone was able to ski/in out with no difficulty despite varying skill level. Hot tub was perfect for post-ski day. Boot dryers were awesome. The kitchen was well stocked with tools etc. We cooked in every night and played board games. The management company/owners were helpful, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. We loved the house and cannot recommend more highly.

Great time and great house. Hot tub has an issue that needs to be fixed but can use without jets

Loved the property - great location and amenities. Kids appreciated the screening room. The welcome basket was a thoughtful and kind gesture.
Suggestion is to install proper blinds in bedrooms to provide adequate privacy and shade from morning light.

This property was everything I was hoping for and more. Russell Mace properties staff were extremely responsive, answering any questions I had before the stay very quickly and they were very accommodating. The house itself was phenomenal for our group. I know this is listed but I had forgotten that there were private bathrooms for each bedroom and an additional full bath! Our large group of adults appreciated this convenience. The house was spotless and ready on time. The house was also stocked with cooking items (spices, oil, plastic bags, laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc). They may not always have this but it was nice that their cleaning team keeps some of these things available. The beds were firm but comfortable. We had a large group but there was plenty of space to spread out. There was an issue with the fireplace but this was acknowledged by the property manager and is something that will be repaired soon. We used the hot tub regularly and it also had one small problem that was fixed within a few hours. The media room was so fun! I didn’t realize how much we would use it but it was a great space to watch movies and play video games nightly. Our kids stayed in the loft and slept great while we watched loud movies in the media room and this didn’t wake them up.
The view and location were spectacular. They aren’t kidding when they say 4 wheel drive is required. We rented a suburban with explore rentals which was extremely easy and worked perfectly. The trail to ski back to the house is easy to find and beautiful (Natawista, two bridges and it’s off to the right). The mountain itself is phenomenal. We did a few private lessons with our 5 and 7 year old and they went from timid to tiny experts! It made the end of our trip so wonderful to be able to take six shooter lift up and the long greens down with them. Our private instructor was Mitch Orloff so you might ask for him if you’re looking for lessons. He even met us at the house one time to ski the kids down to the lift.
We did a trip to Yellowstone with snow mobiles - it was awesome but I would prepare you that the kids had fun but it was also really challenging to dress them and they got sleepy on the actual ride and that was stressful since they aren’t strapped in. We saw bison and geysers and it was gorgeous though.
All around it was everything I was hoping for and more! Thank you Russell Mace properties for a spectacular experience!

We loved it. We would definitely go back to this exact location!

The location was great! Close enough to town and activities but a serene spot too! Mountain View’s! 2 lower level bedrooms, 1 main level Master and a loft area with 2 beds in open area and a queen bed with a door. Everyone had a private bathroom. Large Dinning table and open Living room. A 6 person hot tub and a theater room( that we did not have a chance to use). A well stocked kitchen…byo plastic cups for use in the hot tub. The many family pics indicate this home is a great slope side spot for a ski loving family! We enjoyed the August scenery!

Large stunning home in a great location. Convenient Ski in-ski out. Fantastically appointed. Thanks for a great stay!

Nice house in fantastic location, cluttered interior and old linens
First the good:, this house has a fantastic location, true ski in ski out, wonderful views of the Spanish Peaks, and plenty of space.
The not so good: The house is quite cluttered, and the large dinning table infringes on the living room, making that area a bit odd. House was not ready a the time promised (we arrived at 4:15 pm on the check in day, and they were in the middle of cleaning).
What could be Better: beds and linens are very old, so sleep quality was not what we expected, also, there are no window treatments in any of the bedrooms to prevent morning light from coming in, so if you are sensitive to light you will be up at sunrise.
All in all a very good property that could be better with some updates.

This is a lovely home very well located in Big Sky. The house has all you need but the biggest draw Is the ski in and out ability and the views are magnificent. We stayed for four days and had a lovely time.

Our 2 families plus grandparents enjoyed a lovely week at this property. The beautiful view was perfect for when the older folks wanted to sit and play cards and skip the rafting and hiking excursions. We loved the hot tub on the deck with a view and can only imagine how cool it would be to ski in and out! We enjoyed the fact each room had their own en suite bathroom. Shoutout to Beth, the property manager, for her very prompt and friendly help in getting the theater room working!

The setting of Moonlight Basin is outstanding and the comforts that the house afforded us made for a wonderful family getaway. The house had all of the necessities— the kitchen was stocked with all of the cooking supplies we needed, the jacuzzi and theater provided the kids entertainment, and there were even portable cribs and high chairs for the littles.

Terrific property immediately adjacent to a run with no flat spots. The lone snowboarder in a group of skiers never once had to unbuckle! Media room was a huge plus!

Best stay in Big Sky to date!
We have been renting in Moonlight for years. We loved every single thing about this home including the easy ski in ski out access and the view was incredible. It looks like you live inside of a picture every time you sit in the living room. We will definitely be back in summer!

Great house and location
Our group really enjoyed our stay at Cowboy Heaven. We had a mix of skiers and snowboarders and it was no trouble getting down to Six Shooter or back to the house even with early season snow conditions (no unstrapping for snowboarders). The house itself was exactly as advertised. Communication was great before and during our stay and everything was clean and ready when we arrived. The living room and large dining room table were great for spending time together after the slopes and the mudroom and boot dryer worked well for all of our gear. Would highly recommend this home for group trips to Big Sky!

Awesome, made for a great ski vacation
Great location; the spot on the trail is perfect access to the mountain. The house has everything, including robes for the 10 steps into the hot tub. The well equipped kitchen and nice LONG table were perfect for eating toghether before and after hitting the slopes and the evening card games. The set up in living room was perfect for lounging and relaxing. The house was really wonderful. The staff was very responsive when we had questions or needed help.
Things we would improve: the bedding was a bit dated and pillows well used (lumpy), the freezer door would pop open when the fridge door closed, and it took a little work to close the washer door. All easy fixes. We did find many cobwebs on the light fixtures. I would recommend this house to a friend and hope to return!

Unbelievable Big Sky family ski vacation
We had one of the best family ski vacations we have ever experienced. Starting the day with our coffee in the hot tube staring at the beautiful Spanish Peaks and then clicking in to our bindings and skiing down to the six shooter chair to start our day skiing was so wonderful. We had a tough time wanting to leave the house after a full day of skiing and ended up cooking dinners and enjoying the large family dinner table together. I would only offer one area of potential improvement, the beds were a little dated and difficult to sleep on. If the beds were replaced we would never book another home!
Thanks for a great stay and we look forward to making it back!

Excellent home!
Truly ski in and out! Perfect setup for our families. Wonderfully easy to get to from Bozeman. So much to do and see near Big Sky! Pay attention to the trail names on way back down mountain- we weren't and it took us two tries to get home on Day 1! Don't cut it too close to lift closing! Oh well- more skiing adventure for us!

Cowboy Heaven was awesome
The term ski in / ski out is sometimes used very loosely, but this home truly has it. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Great ski in/out house
This was a great house with a fantastic ski in/out location. The house itself was very well furnished and it had a warm home feeling about it. The hot tub and the outdoor grill were used almost every day even with the temps hovering in the single digits. There were however a couple things that could be upgraded in this two million dollar home. The tech in this home is a bit dated. We loved the sound bar but unfortunately none of us had an Iphone1. Also, a simple call to Direct TV to upgrade your main box (which is free) would solve all the TV issues. But the biggest upgrades should be in the kitchen. Please add more NON-stick pans. Two pans makes it difficult to cook for 5 or more people. Also, the dishwasher needs to be flat out replaced. And check your left rear stove top burner, it leaks when you turn it on, and just fyi, the freezer door should not open every time you close the fridge. However, even with these minor issues the house was still fantastic.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!
This property has everything you need . The ski in/out is the best and very easy. We have taken many friends there in our three years of visiting and they all rave about this rental. The owners and management are very receptive to any fixing any issues and do a great job of making you feel welcome. Please don't rent this home during the time I want it next year.

Our family of 7 was very comfortable for a week for skiing.
This is ski in ski out as advertised. We skied home for lunch each day and ended each day with a hot tub and movie in the theater room (converted garage and great use of space) The kitchen is ok but family area is nice with great views. We appreciated the 12 inches of snow on the first day as well:)

Awesome Property
This was our second year staying here so that says a lot. House is very comfortable and has everything you would need or want. The location is awesome, easy in and out for both boarders and skiers. The management is very professional and helpful. Supplies were plentiful and the kitchen was well equipped. Our friends want to return with some other friends and their families thats how much they liked the home.

Great Place too Stay
We had a fantastic time! The House was awesome. Ski in ski out was perfect. I guess I'm being picky here but the only suggestion I have would be to upgrade the TV in the family room. I definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing
The location couldn't get any better! Walk out the back door and you are literally standing on the trail taking you down to the base. The home is beautiful and has everything you need including a huge variety of spices in the kitchen. The basement theater is awesome and relaxing in the jacuzzi is a necessity after hitting the slopes. Will definitely book again!
