About this bed and breakfast
Fitzgerald Manor is a spacious bed & breakfast nestled in the middle of 39 acres, five miles up from the northern shores of Lake Superior.
Constructed from 2002-2004 The Manor was designed by Becky & Mark to be a beautiful gathering place to spread out and enjoy each other’s company.
Fitzgerald Manor is a true BnB, we live on site, residing on the 3rd floor. After breakfast there is a small amount of interaction. We are available as little or as much as you need us to be. As far as guests sounds filtering up to the 3rd floor, the quality construction of The Manor keeps it to a minimum.
With 10,000 square feet the Manor features seven large private bedrooms each with their own private bath. All have wonderful king size beds & ceiling fans. Five guest rooms have a gas fireplace and their bathroom has a two person whirlpool tub and walk in shower. Two guest rooms have a full bathroom with combination tub/shower.
The gourmet kitchen is available for your use with two prep islands, six burner double oven stove and two full size refrigerators. There is plenty of space to enjoy including a sitting room, great room, sun room, dining room and a huge library with books, games, DVD movies, and a karaoke machine to add to the fun.
The Manor has two attached porches. The south east porch is open and covered to enjoy the views of the meadow, the grazing deer or the summer fire flies. The south west porch is open for that barbeque feast and visiting around the picnic table.
Large groups are welcome with 6 additional twin size beds that can be set up in either the bedrooms or the student study room. All of the sleeping areas are located on the 2nd floor.
There is ample parking on blacktop.
Like all true BnB’s we offer a wonderful homemade hot breakfast each morning and typically serve at 9am.
The manor’s third floor is constructed to block noise so guest activities are not noticed.

It was good week, and the host were very nice. Great breakfast!

We had a wonderful family reunion /celebration of life for my husband. The manor was so kid friendly! We had 6 children from ages 2-10. There was a play room that was in view of the living room so we could chat and still watch the littles! There was lots to do just at the manor between the games room downstairs, the theater with a popcorn machine, TVs in every room! The rooms were gorgeous with an amazing bathroom for each one. Becky and Mark were lovely hosts and we never felt we were bothering them with our questions. The breakfasts were delicious! I highly recommend this B&B. Oh and Stella their pooch was a huge hit! Thank you so much for making this so memorable!

The sleeping arrangements are outstanding. Private baths in all 7 large bedrooms—most with walk-in showers and whirlpool tubs—all with king beds. Easy to add cots for families who wish to include children in their bedroom. Very good, well appointed movie theatre. Excellent dining area where all 14 of us were able to gather around a single table. Professional grade kitchen with ample refrigeration. Large portion, delicious, and varied breakfasts prepared at our selected times by owners. Pool table, outside basketball area, large comfortable library, toy/play area. The house easily accommodated our 4 families, allowing both for large gatherings and private spaces. Mark and Becky are very accommodating and excellent hosts. While they live in the 3rd floor, they are invisible other than morning breakfasts and occasional conversation. Thank you!

Beautiful home! Becky and Mark are great hosts. My Daughter's Wedding went perfectly, and we couldn't have done it without them. They're meals (breakfast and dinner) for 24 people was amazing. We will definitely book with them in the future.

All of our family enjoyed our stay at the Fitzgerald! Our hosts were wonderful as well. It's difficult to find a place that could accommodate our large group and this fit the bill. The breakfasts provided were wonderful as well! We hope to come again another time. Such a beautiful area, too.

I reached out to Mark and Becky about having my wedding at The Manor. They were great with their communication and were excited to have us! The weekend was amazing and both Mark and Becky were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The breakfasts they made for the group were sooooo delicious as well!!! We are extremely grateful to have had them as our hosts and for the opportunity to stay at The Manor. Would definitely stay here again!

We are a group of friends who have been taking an annual Minnesota Fall Colors trip since the 1980’s. Our group is 10-13 people, depending on the year and we have stayed at various resorts over the years. Although we like being on the Lake Superior shore, we decided to give the Manor a try. We were not disappointed! This is a great place for a larger group and Mark and Becky were excellent hosts. Breakfasts were phenomenal! Plenty of activities, inside and out for everyone. 5 stars!

We had a great time at the Fitzgerald Manor! Such a beautiful setting with a walking trail around the property. Large bedrooms with bathrooms. Mark prepared a great breakfast daily as well as homemade cookies and ice cream. Thanks for making our family gathering awesome!

We enjoyed several northshore activities close to the Two Harbors area including hiking, biking, golf, state parks, and local breweries, as well as the VRBO property firepit and outdoor deck. The host couple were both very friendly and accomodating of our party's request to cook some meals together. It was more of a BnB experience whereas we were used to traveling as a group to high-end VRBOs. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of carbs and protein for a morning hike.

Had a lovely surprise getaway with family and friends at the Fitzgerald Manor, our 2nd time staying there. The spacious room, abundant space for hanging out, and the basement theater room & game room make for a wonderful place to get everyone together. Breakfast provided was delicious and the hosts were very communicative and accommodating. Definitely planning to return.

This was our second visit to Fitzgerald Manor. It was a winter wonderland again! The breakfasts were amazing. The kids enjoyed their dog Stella! Everybody had their own bedrooms and bathrooms! We had to leave early due to weather to get home safely. Thank you Beckie and Mark for your warm hospitality! We will return!

Loved everything about our stay at Fitzgerald Manor! Just wished we would have booked it for a longer stay. We will def be going back in the near future. We travel and stay in a lot of places with our family. It is hard to find a bed and breakfast that can accommodate us. Mark and Becky are the best! So friendly, fun to chat with, very accommodating, and great chefs! Loved our breakfasts! The place is spectacular! The rooms are huge! This house is well kept and full of heart and soul from its wonderful owners. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place! Book today. I know we will be booking again soon when we can stay longer and enjoy the property for all it has to offer. Thanks again Mark and Becky!!

Mark and Becky were the most fabulous of hosts for our group! The food was AMAZING and the attention to detail was top notch! And the property itself is just gorgeous - what a wonderful retreat up north! Leading up to our trip Mark was so great at communicating and answering our questions so we could plan for our events, and throughout our weekend both Mark and Becky were so great at answering questions and going out of their way with details to make our stay extra special. (Thanks for that extra surprise of homemade waffle cones and ice cream on Saturday night!:) We booked 2 more upcoming trips with them before even leaving the property. Can't wait to return in March!

My siblings and cousins spent a wonderful 4 days at Fitzgerald Manor. The breakfasts were a gourmet delight— each day a new treat. Mark and Becky were very accommodating and personable. And we all loved their dog. Each family member enjoyed our relaxing vacation at Fitzgerald Manor.

Fitzgerald Manor was a wonderful venue for our four-night family get-together for 18 people ranging in age from 10 to 81. Mark and Becky were outstanding and personable hosts. All of the spacious bedrooms were private and quiet on the second floor, each with a large well-supplied bathroom. The kitchen facilities were awesome and well-equipped for preparing meals for our large group. The gathering space was great for family games and there was a good supply of equipment for inside and outside activities for all ages. We also used the downstairs theater for group movies. Many of us made use of the hiking trails at some of the nearby state parks.
BUT the thing we should have mentioned first was the wonderful breakfasts prepared by Mark and Becky each morning. Furthermore, they were accommodating in making provisions for our gluten-free and dairy-free family members. The homemade ice cream was fabulous and the cookies were a big hit.
We enjoyed the variety of visiting birds (especially the many hummingbirds) and the interaction with the resident dog Stella. Thanks Mark and Becky for the great stay.

A great getaway with old friends
4 great days for high school buddies (now in their 40's) and their wives and kids. Plenty of inside (movie theater and pool table in basement) and outside (basketball, volleyball, campfire) and off-premises options (state parks, lighthouse, Enger Park Tower and breweries in Duluth) to keep everyone happy. Breakfasts were yummy, and owners were very accommodating.

We had a great time
We are a family of 20+ that needed a large home for a mini-family reunion and this fit the bill. The bedrooms were perfect (clean, well decorated and spacious) and the host had extra beds to fit us all. The bathrooms were clean and really wonderful. Most did have a little something wrong (paint tape or missing tiles) but were overall luxurious. Breakfast was a dream...that french toast bake...OMG!!! Mark had s'more supplies, campfire wood and lots of outdoor games for us. We were surprised to find that there are parts of the home that we were using that were under construction. Also, there is a very high-energy dog that is out in the house and the yard during the morning hours. This makes sense as the owners do live in the home but we were unaware upon rental that there was a pet in residence. Generally, Mark and Beck stay on the 3rd floor, but we did see them periodically throughout the day. They are more interactive with guests than most VRBO owners, but it works since they are friendly and quite pleasant. Overall, this was almost perfect and, after adjusting a few expectations, we had an amazing time. Be aware that this is a non-traditional VRBO set up and if you keep that in mind, you will have a wonderful experience.

Extended Family for 75th Birthday Celebration
The Fitzgerald Manor property is beautiful, spacious, comfortable and very clean. Mark and Becky are warm and welcoming hosts. The kitchen and pantry areas are well suited for preparation and serving of meals and drinks for bigger groups. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large, and the floor plan provides plenty of room and spaces for people to spread out and enjoy different activities. There are some areas of the home that are works in progress, and some sharing of space with the owners (mainly kitchen), but such is minimal and did not detract from our enjoyment or use of the property. The elevator was a huge bonus, great for our family member using a wheelchair and for those not so comfortable carrying bags up and down stairs. Overall, Fitzgerald Manor is a beautiful, very comfortable and enjoyable property. We had a great visit with our extended family (age range 20-75), and would love to stay again in the future.

Great Space. Lots of amazing rooms for Guests. We sadly couldn't take full advantage of the yard due to wet conditions, but we had the paved driveway to play games. Breakfast was AMAZING! Loved it.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The property had enough rooms that we were able to avoid awkward sleeping arrangements with people that didn’t know each other needing to share a room. Everyone had their own room and bathroom which was great. Kitchen is amazing. Loved the theater downstairs. Owners were very kind and welcoming. Breakfasts were lovely, and enjoyed their coffee set up. We hope to stay here again.

This very large house is operated in a hybrid fashion from your usual VRBO rentals. The owners live upstairs and provide a bed and breakfast type service with delicious, ample morning meals with a great variety. They were over the top helpful in making us feel welcome and providing a variety of nice touches in the house.
The newly opened theater room will keep movie, TV and sports event watchers very happy.
The game room, with some finishes still to be done had a nice pool table and game table.
The house is much more towards comfort than chic so you will find things "lived in" but not in a bad way. So much of it is being done by the couple that you will appreciate the wood work that is still in process of completion in some of the yet to be opened spaces (like the formal dining room, stairs down to the rec area, etc.).
In winter, the home was definitely well insulated, big bathrooms, and comfortable beds with pleasant touches.
I am one that tends not to tell everything about a stay and rather have you surprised. All of the bedrooms are on the second floor and you will have no problem getting luggage in and out.
I do strongly recommend a minimum 3 night stay. We stayed 6 nights and were never bored. You need time to unwind, enjoy, relax, soak in a change of pace. This is it! The entire family from the 17 year old niece to the active in-laws would all return without hesitation!

Wonderful place for gathering of any group!
We were met by the hosts who welcomed us into their home! Our family consists of 17, ages 7 - 70 and we were treated to wonderful breakfasts every day and the greatest hospitality from the hosts. They even accommodated the food allergies that some had by making their breakfast meet their needs with not problems. The home itself is beautiful and provides not only places to relax, but games, books, along with the outdoors to enjoy. Everyone, not just the kids enjoyed the treats of cookies and homemade ice cream made by Mark. The home accommodated the 17 of us perfectly and the acreage was a great playground for the grandkids who spent many, many hours playing among the trees and trails. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a place to relax with family/friends and also enjoys being outdoors. With 2 state parks within minutes, lots of opportunities to keep busy. We plan to return as there was not one complaint from anyone in the group about anything!

Although we didn't all sleep at Fitgerald Manor because we wanted couples to have their own rooms, 14 of us stayed and all 18 of us gathered, ate, played games, hiked and even did some line dancing here. It's a perfect place to spread out and then gather together. Mark and Becky treated us well and we enjoyed their homemade ice cream, Becky's special cardamom coffee at breakfast, the beautiful woodwork indoors and the gorgeous views from every window. We hope to return!

We did a moms retreat and had a wonderful stay with Mark and Becky. They are such kind people and the breakfasts were amazing! As mamas in need of a break after 20 months parenting through a pandemic, we were thrilled to step away!

We had a group of 14 adults and this space was perfect for our gathering. Breakfast was delicious each morning with coffee waiting for us to start our morning on a happy note. The hosts were amazing and fun to converse with at breakfast and just a hop/skip away for anything we needed. Gathering around the fire with fixings for s'moresa and delicious homemade ice cream were both enjoyed as a special treat provided by the hosts. The beds were very comfortable and the private bathrooms gave everyone their own space, yet togetherness throughout the day/night as we gathered outside and inside. If you are looking for a place to gather your family and friends in a quiet atmosphere away from the city, this is your place!! Thank you Mark and Becky for sharing your beautiful place!!
