We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful villa in rural Umbria.
The owner and his colleagues were very helpful, always on hand to provide advice and answer our questions.
We were a family on 12, including children, teenagers and one grandma. We had plenty of room to relax, enjoy the pool, eat (inside or outside), whilst also all having our own private rooms and bathrooms.
The regional town of Todi is nearby (you can walk there in around 25 minutes, although some parts are fairly steep) where you will find amazing views, typical Umbrian streets and architecture, along with a range of nice restaurants that are well priced.
I would recommend a car, which will enable you to travel to the local supermarket (which has great produce) and some of the other local towns.
We all had a great time, welcomed by great hosts and would recommend the villa wholeheartedly.

Great stay
We had an amazing time with my family this summer, we didn’t had the chance to enjoy Giulianas cooking talents but Giampaolo was available and always friendly.

Beautiful home with gorgeous views
We were a three-generation family of twelve, ages 7-78, staying at this beautiful villa. The house had everything we needed, the kids loved the pool (what a view from the pool area as it sits slightly higher than the house), and the adults relaxed in the various indoor and outdoor seating areas. The kitchen is well-stocked with equipment, and we were able to cook several meals after almost daily trips to a nearby superstore. Giuliana is friendly and warm, and we were able to communicate using Google Translate. She cooked two delicious dinners for us as well. The town of Todi is a 10 minute drive away, and the other hill top towns of Umbria are between 45-60 minutes away. Thank you for the memories.

A Treasure in the heart of Umbria
Perfect house in a central location. I can only confirm all the positive things already written about this home. We spent two wonderful weeks and nothing but praise for it! Grazie Mille!

We were two families (10 people) who enjoyed a wonderful week at La Casa Rossa. The owner Giampaolo was an absolute pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. The housekeeper Guiliana cooked two wonderful meals for us and Laura kept the house looking immaculate. This is a very special property. The interior decor is clean and contemporary and the house is fitted out to a very high standard too. The large pool is a highlight. Situated just outside the beautiful town of Todi, the location offered us easy access to a number of other beautiful hilltop towns within a close radius (max one hour). Stocking up at the local supermarket EMI was close, easy and a pleasure. I can highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quintessential Umbrian experience made all the more enjoyable by dealing with the responsive, professional and friendly owner Giampaolo. Our sincere thank you’s to you and your staff for a wonderful week in Umbria !

Umbria timeless
We've come to Giampaolo's villa many times. We are always pleasantly surprised by the peace, the beauty of nature and the comfort offered by the villa. We really like it, we'll still be there.

Everything about our stay was magnificent! The home is very chic and modern on the inside and the natural setting is perfect. The photos do not do it justice as the views are even more spectacular in person. This is the second time that I am renting this beautiful home. The first time in 2015 was with family and kids and this year it was with adults only. Both vacations were among the best I have ever had! Giampaolo outdid himself in terms of decor and detail to all aspects of the home. Every angle was picture perfect! Giuliana is a phenomenal asset and cooked for us on several occasions. We even were lucky enough to have her teach us how to make homemade pasta and bolognese. Laura is great too as she kept everything neat and tidy. We used the pool several times because of the summer heat and could not get enough of the views, lavender scents and lush landscaping. We toured easily by car to Todi, Orvieto, Assisi, Montefalco, Spello and Deruta. Umbria is a magnificent region to explore nature, food and wine -who could ask for more! I recommend highly it if you want to make great memories!! Grazie Giampaolo, Giuliana e Laura! Un saluto dai vostri amici di Naples, Florida

Beautiful house, great location for day trips in Umbria.
While we only used three bedrooms all six were well appointed. Kitchen was great to cook in- end of season a few pans were past there due date- were promptly replaced when the issue was raised. Pool very nice but without heating a little chilly in mid September. Property was secluded but only a few minutes to Todi and great grocery shopping in Ponteroi. Overall, we and are guests had a great vacation. Would highly recommend- great value.

A truly wonderful family and friends vacation.
The Villa was perfect for our needs. We managed to fill all the rooms most of the three weeks with friends and family and everyone expressed great delight with their stay. The location near Todi was very convenient for exploring the beautiful hilltop towns of Umbria and nearby Tuscany. Giuliana, the housekeeper was most attentive to every detail and she cooked for us three times to the delight of everyone. The two Lauras made sure that the Villa was in tip-top shape.
We would not hesitate in recommending LaCasaRossa for large family or friends gathering.

Spectacular
This is an outstanding vacation property in a idyllic location. The little mountain town of Todi is so charming and easy to navigate. The whole area is filled with wonderful towns for exploring. Perfect villa for large family or several couples. It has air conditioning , but weather was such that we never used it. The on site staff Jens and Guiliana so helpful and welcoming, and were there for us for every need at a moments notice. We visited in early June and the gardens were in full bloom with hydrangeas, roses, agapanthus and lavender .Mr. Giannelli has done a magnificent job and is gracious to share it with us. M. You will not be disappointed
This is a grand house, with the best showers in all of Europe. The view is amazing, of course, and all of the bedrooms are very nice. We love to cook, and the kitchen is a pleasure. We made use of Mrs. Giuliana to come for two hours to clean up for us in the evening--well worth the money--the fun of cooking, without the bother of cleaning up.
It is fun as you drive around the Todi area to be able to see "your" red house from many places.
There are two driveways, but the one that comes from the west and leads to the kitchen is the best for unloading food and luggage. But there is room for only one car there, so use it sparingly.
Walking along the road below the property is very nice--just remember you have to climb back up!
We went to a restaurant called Fiorefiore on the other side of Todi for our 'farewell lunch" on the Friday. They did good job for us 11 people, and we sat outside on the shady side of the building.
I would be happy to answer any questions from potential renters. We already have told friends about LacasaRossa and they are thinking of getting a party together for next year.

Fabulous Stay In Umbria
We chose the villa after doing a lot of research online. The website, nice as it is, does not do the property justice.
The house is perched on a hill with sweeping views. It's huge -- six bedrooms, all of them very large with their own large bathrooms. We were three families (10 people) and stayed here for two weeks. For two of those nights we were visited by friends who themselves had two three-year old twins. Even so, we had plenty of room. The bedrooms and bathrooms you see on the website are representative of all six -- every room feels like a master bedroom. The interior is unusually modern for this type of property, which was part of the attraction for us. Everything is first-rate. The showers were great, the kitchen is of professional quality (four sinks?!), and the internet works well.
The pool is very large and we spent hours swimming each day. We needed a pool that was either fenced in or somewhat removed from the house because we had toddlers in our group. This pool is twenty yards or so behind the house, up a curved walkway, which met our needs. The website can't fully capture the beauty of the outdoor grounds. The view from the pool and the many different parts of the house is stunning.
A big part of the stay was the excellent service from Giampaolo, the owner, and his team-- Jens, the concierge, and Giuliana and Laura, the two housekeepers. The villa comes with three hours of housekeeping a day during the week, which wasn't by any means a must on our list, but was really nice to have. For an additional fee, Giuliana will cook you an Italian meal. She did this for us four times during our stay and the dinners were all fantastic, often featuring vegetables from the villa's garden. She enthusiastically taught our boys how to make pasta, which was a lot of fun. We were delayed on our arrival into Da Vinci airport, and Giuliana and Jens met us at the villa at 2 in the morning to check us in! Above and beyond the call of duty, but they greeted us warmly, like it was 2 in the afternoon.
The location is ideal for exploring Umbria, with many fascinating towns within a 45 minute drive - Orvieto, Peruggia, Narni, Spoleto - too many to see them all. We really enjoyed nearby Todi. It's a 5 km walk or you can walk into town in about 25 minutes. Many in our group did the walk each day, but note that the last part is fairly steep.
All in all an ideal trip. We would happily come back and hope to sometime soon.

Family meeting in Umbria
Excellent address for our purpose to share peaceful moments with family covering 3 generations!Highest standards in term of location, comfort, services. Everything was exactly what you expected to find; in one word:a dream.
All you see in picture you find there, plus the kindness of people taking care of you. Thank you Giuliana, we will remember your cooking skills, thank you Jens and Laura. A special thank to Giampaolo Giannelli who created this peaceful and charming paradise on earth.

perfect in Umbria
The house is beautiful, wonderfully well thought out, and unusually, all the rooms are good, with great en-suites (maybe more mirrors might be the only complaint!). The staff are fabulous, great cooking at lunch. The lovely pool creates a relaxing environment and has wonderful views, as does the house. We had a family holiday with 3 year olds to 60 year olds and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Timeless Umbria
This is fifth year in a row that we have spent first week in July in LacasaRossa. Villa lies across spacious and beautiful property that is totally hidden from outside. As we are party of 3 we feel like kings in villa for 12 person. All rooms are spacious and well decorated. Kitchen is equipped for professionals and it is really enjoy to cook there. One can enjoy having meal or reading a book in so many compartments inside villa and around it. The view from terrace is magnificent. It is just enough to watch cloud, feel wind and drink local Umbrian wine Grechetto. Speechless. Timeless.
During a day pool is the center of all activates. It is really big and there is a lot of space around it for sunbathing under hot Umbrian sun or in the light shadow. At night we usually go to Todi for a dinner in one of restaurants with terrace or just for an ice-cream or drink.
There are two excellent day-trips from Todi to historical Assisi and Orvieto. The road to Assisi is better. One can reach Rome in a day and come back the same day (1.5 hour drive) but it is better to stay there overnight.
Our cook, Giuliana has become our friend over years. As we don’t speak Italian so well we have using google translate to write words and short sentences and getting Italian translations. It works.

We have enjoyed every minute
We have come to this peaceful and luxury property near Todi already four times. The most important part of villa is the pool, where we spent most of the time. We could easily spent here another week, just doing nothing, so relaxing and beautiful it is.

LacasaRossa
Visited LacasaRossa May 2013 for a family holiday, eight adults and three young children, beautiful house, with plenty of space to spread out, all six bedrooms are a fantastic size, all have there own bathrooms. A big plus! Pool is a beautiful infinity pool, well placed for people with young children, just behind the house. LacasaRossa is well situated in a beautiful location with fantastic views, although it does take a little finding the first time you visit!
Charlie, the villa manager was very helpful advising us of places to visit and things to do, taking into consideration the different age groups in our party. She also very kindly sourced a Birthday Cake for my Son and Grandaughter's birthdays. It was good to have the 3 hours a day housekeeping also, it helped us keep on top of things! we came back each day to a lovely tidy kitchen, which I'm not sure would have been the case without Giuliana and her helper! Lovely holiday in a beautiful home, highly recommend! Thank you.

La Bella Vita at La Casa Rossa
We enjoyed an excellent 2-week stay at La Casa Rossa in Todi in early May.
The villa is wonderful: Secluded for plenty of privacy, yet just a 35-minute walk to the center of town or a 5-minute to the nearby village for shopping. It sits on a hill with a fantastic view of the Tiber valley and the surrounding forests and farm fields.
The bedrooms are huge and each features its own large en suite bathroom. Furnishings are "modern minimalist" and complement the contemporary artwork and photographs of Rohn Meyer found in each room (and throughout the house). If you're sharing the house with a group of friends, you can easily escape the hustle and bustle in the kitchen and living rooms and enjoy a nice nap in peace and quiet on the comfortable bed.
The industrial kitchen is every "wanna be" chef's dream. All the appliances (including an induction and a gas stove), pots, pans, and gadgets are there. And there's even enough china and silverware to serve a multiple-course meal to a full house of 12!
You'll spend hours in the dining room enjoying the Italian food you prepare (or have someone cook for you), enjoying the large fireplace nearby, or the panorama window looking out over the valley. And when the weather is right, take your meal outside on the patio around the front of the house for a meal "al fresco" as the sun sets in the distance.
While I'm on cooking, be sure to take a cooking class (or two) at Il Ghiottone Umbro just a 10-minute drive away as you enter Todi. Thomas and Lisbeth are great hosts, teachers, and chefs!
And the pool! Early May was cool, but we still swam in the large infinity pool daily and enjoyed sunning and eating there mid-day. It's looks particularly magical at night when it and the house are lit up against a starry sky or full moon.
There's plenty to see and do in Todi and throughout Umbria. Two family members with us ventured into Rome twice, but that involved a 40 minute drive to Orvieto and a hour's train ride into the heart of Rome. My advice: Stick to Umbria and visit the the fascinating hill-top villages and cities (like Perugia, about 35 minutes by car away.)
The staff are all friendly and go out of their way to make sure that you've having a fun, relaxing time. Count on them to point you to the right restaurant (Cavour for pizza), introduce you to to local artists (visit Bibo's Gallery), and sign you up for some fun activities (like the cooking class mentioned earlier).
You won't go wrong by booking La Casa Rossa.

Home for Tablet Tastes
Lacasarossa is an exquisite property, impeccably maintained, with a design hotel aesthetic wrapped in classic Umbrian charm. Perfectly suited for holiday rentals, each bedroom is generously sized with its own en-suite full bathroom. The professional grade, gourmet kitchen makes at-home dining a pleasure. And the infinity swimming pool is one of the home's loveliest features. Temperatures hovered near 40-degrees C when we visited, and the house is unfortunately not air-conditioned, making for some uncomfortably hot nights. Apart from that, the house was 5-star.
