About this house rental
Wow..what a view..love the loft! You may not have been 'Born in a Barn', but here's your chance to stay in one and VACATION 'Till the Cows Come Home'! We invite you to stay in our barn loft and call it your home, while you relax and enjoy our nation's largest and oldest National Park.
Barn on the Banks is located just above the Yellowstone river in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Gardiner, Montana. We are less than 1 mile to the park's North Gate Entrance, famous for the Teddy Roosevelt Arch, and within walking distance to down town shops, restaurants, a grocery store, post office and excellent trout fishing.
Yellowstone river runs through this small town that is nestled at the foothills of Electric Peak, a majestic mountain that carries snow throughout most of the year. We are located at the end of a lane with no through traffic. Our loft overlooks the confluence of the Gardiner and Yellowstone rivers, and has unobstructed spectacular views of the mountains. We border the river and we are directly across from Yellowstone Park.
A short walk down the bank takes you to the river's edge where you can sit and enjoy nature, including frequent fliers of ducks, geese, bald eagles, and osprey, or possibly see a family of otters playing in the water.
From our deck you can view hummingbirds, mountain songbirds, and wildlife including deer, elk, Big Horn sheep, Pronghorn (antelope), or possibly see a bear, wolf, coyote, or bison.
One summer while sitting on the deck of the barn, my husband witnessed a doe deer giving birth to twin fawns. We frequently saw mama deer and her little ones close to our house and barn throughout the summer. Now we've seen yet another 'Near Barn Birth'! Over Memorial Weekend, we and our guests witnessed an Elk giving birth just a few feet below the deck of the Barn! This is truly an area you'll be able to experience nature.
The barn has never housed animals, the bottom of the barn is used for private storage. The barn loft was renovated in 2008-2009, and features a full kitchen with all new appliances, comfortable seating in the living area, and a large deck that looks into Yellowstone Park. You can sit by the fire on a chilly night, or cool down with air conditioning on a hot summer day.
There are amazing views from all areas of the loft made easy by several large windows.
The master bedroom has a king bed, private bath, air conditioning, a fireplace and your own private balcony to sit, relax and enjoy the sunset.
The cozy 'Queen Room' catches the morning sun, and has the ambiance of a fireplace as well.
The 3rd and "middle bedroom'" has one full sized double bed and one twin bed.
The sofa in the living room converts to a full size bed.
The deck which overlooks Yellowstone Park and the river, features outdoor tables and chairs as well as additional seating and a gas grill under the deck. So come and stay with us, enjoy our 'Barn on the Banks', and make your vacation one you will remember.
**NOTE: There is an additional 3% Gardiner Resort Tax that you will be billed separately for if your stay is June through September.

Ken and Linda were fantastic hosts. The barn was very clean and in such a peaceful setting. Lots of elk come to graze in the area in the evening. There is nothing missing here - the place is well stocked with anything and everything you could ever need. Highly recommend!

The ‘barn’ is a wonderful place to stay. It had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. There is air conditioning but not really needed at night as it was quite cool with windows open. Great deck for watching the river and reading. Cozy area also below the deck and nice (bit steep) walk to the river. Few minutes drive to enter Yellowstone. Variety of rafting and horseback riding places right in town. The house has so many cute and unique decorations we all enjoyed spotting something new right to our last day. Ken and Linda were very nice and easy to ask questions of for local area. Stayed 12 days in August 2024.

Amazing property with every thing a family needs! The view is stunning overlooking the North entrance to Yellowstone park and access to Yellowstone River! We were able to hike down and fish, such a neat experience for my kids! We absolutely loved our stay here and would come back again just to enjoy more of the town of Gardiner. Also the best hosts you could ask for! It was the perfect place to stay for a Yellowstone park vacation- we were able to journey around nearly the entire grand loop visiting 4/5 of the entrances. Just cannot express through a written review how wonderful this place actually is! .

The Barn on The Banks was just as described. Our family of 6 found everything we needed and more! Hosts provide bear spray, coolers, fishing poles, swim towels- the list goes on! This was probably the most well-stocked vacation rental I have ever stayed in. You do not need to over-pack when staying here. The views are beautiful and our kids loved visiting the river. We did see bear scat on the trail our first day so take your spray with you just in case. Lovely hosts- Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We had a fabulous stay at Barn on the Banks. The home was clean, spacious, and well equipped for our family of 6. Convenient to Gardiner and Yellowstone. Gardiner has a nice little grocery store where we were able to pick up anything we needed. Our son enjoyed fishing on the Yellowstone River below the house and caught quite a few fish. Linda and Ken are fabulous hosts. Would highly recommend this house to anyone!

Great location. Perfect decor for a “barn”. Give it a 10/10. I got double steps for the stairs. Heaters would be better with thermostats. Toys were a hit for my 4 year old granddaughter. Place felt like home!! Umbrellas, flashlights, ice chests, binoculars, spices, and ice in the ice maker bin topped it off. My daughter said she wants to come again.

We fell in love with the Barn as soon as we got there. The hosts are so thoughtful and sweet. We absolutely adored seeing elk, pronghorn, squirrels and chipmunks every day from the balcony!

The Barn on the Banks is better then what you see in the pics. Great location with amazing views of the park, elk right at your doorstep, and the Linda and Ken are amazing hosts. Literally 5 minutes to the North Entrance which allowed us to come and go to experience even more of the park.
We loved everything about the place and will definitely be back.

The property was very well-kept, wonderful and homey accommodations, location great for Yellowstone entrance! We saw elk in the backyard. The owners were SO nice and helpful and right next door! Lots of items for picnicking available in the unit! Definitely would rent again if we can!!

My husband, two kids and my parents stayed for 5 nights at the cabin. Check in was communicated through email but Linda also followed up via text to make sure I received which was very appreciated. Cabin was beautifully decorated and had all the accommodations needed including spices for cooking, and griddle for breakfast. They had a propane grill which was so nice, vs most places it’s charcoal and you have to bring your own. Linda and her husband live right next door so if we were outside they checked to make sure we were all set and didn’t need anything and wished us well when we departed. Cabin was easy to get to and close to the town and north Yellowstone entrance. Oh and it has A/C units which most other places do not. Hard to see in the pictures but the walk down to the river is steeper than expected and you can’t see the cabin once down there. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking.

We really enjoyed our stay at the barn! The house was well equipped with everything we wanted or needed for our stay. Comfy beds, very clean, great views, well stocked kitchen for cooking, etc. The hosts were very friendly & checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable. Our family of 5 loved the area & close access to YNP. We would definitely stay here again!

Barn on the Banks was clean and very inviting. It had everything we needed plus more. It was very comfortable and had spices for cooking that I didn’t even think about packing. My son and husband went fishing on the river below the barn and had fun. Beautiful views from every window. Ken and Linda were very sweet and responded to a text message quickly. When we return to Yellowstone we will see if the Barn on the Banks is available.

Excellent visit to Yellowstone at a great location. There is nothing like the Barn on the Banks anywhere near Yellowstone. Linda had everything we needed - even things we didn’t know were there until we arrived (crock pot, fishing poles, coffee grinder, you name it). The little things made it very welcoming, especially the farm artwork below the deck (the kids loved the pictures). We had Elk come to visit nightly, gorgeous views, and a nice quiet neighborhood. Despite having homes on each side, it has a much more secluded feel. We will definitely be coming back when the opportunity arises.

This property has amazing views of Yellowstone. We enjoyed staying at the property waking up to the beautiful views of NP and the river. The kitchen is loaded as well so we had no problem cooking everyday. Linda is great host

My family and I stayed here in mid-late May 2023 while visiting Yellowstone. The location is excellent and very close to the park. Upon arrival we were visited by some elk wondering on the property. The hosts were extremely kind and welcoming. The place has everything you need, we grilled one night and explored the local restaurants the others. The cabin was very clean and comfortable for the family. The kids walked down to the river to fish and my wife and I enjoyed sitting on the swing overlooking the river and park. My wife said the cabin was the best part of the trip.

Excellent Place, Wonderful Vacation.
This is the place to stay if you are going to Yellowstone. Grocery store and good coffee minutes away. A 2 minute drive to the park entrance. Plenty of space, plenty of wildlife (in the neighborhood & back yard), view, river...everything. We had 2 adults, 2 20 something and a teen. No complaints, everyone happy, plenty of space to unwind after a full day in the park. Ken & Linda were great. If we come back to Yellowstone, we will rent here again, 100%.

Best Yellowstone Stay Ever!
This was our 3rd visit to Yellowstone & was the best visit ever because of Ken & Linda’s hospitality at “The Barn on the Banks”. They are wonderful people & hosts at the barn. They are very informative about the area & we actually experienced things in the surrounding area we had not experienced on previous trips. They truly care about your comfort & safety during your stay with them. The accommodations are wonderful. It is very clean & they have everything you need for a stay away from home. The location is close to the entrance to the park, walking distance to downtown Gardiner & yet it’s very peaceful & secluded from the traffic of the downtown area. Much of the wildlife call this area their home. There were mule deer, elk, pronghorn & big horn sheep all within eyesight of the barn.
Ken & Linda are so friendly we cannot wait to return to visit them again & stay at The Barn again.

Ken and Linda were excellent hosts!
Our family of six had an amazing time at barn on the banks. With a view overlooking Yellowstone park, it was not only magnificent, but It was easy to judge when a good time to head over was, and avoid the long lines at certain times of the day.
Our stay was made seamless with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable living space, and all the bathroom essentials needed and both bathrooms. The rooms were quite comfortable as well. Ken and Linda were great with helpful suggestions about town, as well as little known gems to discover. Absolutely wonderful people to get to know. We enjoyed daily trips to Yellowstone, white water rafting, ATV trips, horseback riding, and tons more. We have several more vacations planned, but look to return soon. We have already told all of our friends and family about our great stay at barn on the banks, and I believe a few were looking to stay within the next year or so!

Wonderful family vacation!
We loved staying at the barn! It was very conveniently located to Yellowstone. We were able to see so much wildlife right outside our window every day. My son loved fishing just below the house. I highly recommend staying at this lovely home.

Comfortable stay
Clean cozy stay. This comfortable cozy place has every thing you could possibly need. I needed to see a button and found a little sewing kit in the laundry area. I loved that!! There are a few stairs to climb, it’s located on the second floor. We were a little disappointed that to reach the river it’s was quite a hike downhill. All in all we enjoyed the barn, owners were there to help us with anything we needed. Very accommodating.

Just Wonderful!
We totally enjoyed our stay at “Barn in the Banks”. Perfect location for easy access into the northern entrance of Yellowstone. House was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We felt very at home there. Back deck and yard area are awesome for wildlife viewing and we enjoyed watching every afternoon to see what we would see next. We got to see a grizzly bear on the hillside across the river from the back deck!
The owners were available if we needed anything (which we didn’t), but it was nice to know they were responsive if need be. We would highly recommend this place and hope that if we are ever lucky enough to come back to Yellowstone, we can stay here again!

The Barn on the Banks was perfect!
This property was excellent for our trip to Yellowstone Natl Park. Ken and Linda were excellent hosts and they have made this property fully functional thinking of everything. The kitchen had all that we needed and the views off the deck were breathtaking. We were so lucky to find this place and would highly recommend it. Located just a stones throw outside of Yellowstone’s north entrance, this is the best place to stay for anyone going in and out of the park. Look no further...you have found that perfect place! Thanks, Linda and Ken!

Wow the views!!!
I couldn't believe the perfect location of The Barn on the Banks. Just outside of Yellowstone and right on the river looking out to Yellowstone. Plenty of wildlife to be seen from the Barn, make sure to bring binoculars! The space was very clean with more than enough room for us and had everything we needed. The hosts were also very helpful and accommodating. We can't wait to return!

Linda & Ken were the perfect hosts. The property is located very close to the north entrance of Yellowstone, has stunning views of the countryside and wildlife and is the perfect place to return to after long days sightseeing in the park. The local elk that visit the property make this property very special. We viewed bighorn rams, elk, antelope, and mule deer from the deck overlooking the river bank. The home has all the amenities you’ll need for your stay in Gardiner. My family and I would happily return to this property.
