Stayed here as base camp for hiking mt Whitney. Place was perfect for what we needed. Would come back.

The location is prime. Parking wonderful. Space and amenities of the home were helpful. My only complaint is that the shower did not drain well so it quickly filled up the shower tray. After hiking and trying to rinse off the grime it was pretty gross to stand in the filth. I’m sure it’s an easy fix though!

Walking distance to anything in Lone Pine you could want/need, easy parking, quiet street, quaint little place, and 30 min from the trailhead for Whitney Portal (currently Whitney portal road is closed and has a detour). Fantastic place to recover for a night after the grueling summit journey too. Really enjoyed our stay!

This house is one block off 395 on a quiet street. The place was clean with soft bedding and thick towels. The kitchen has a very small work area and is well stocked. The building is quite old and somewhat dated but the things you will use, as well as the appliances are updated. There is a swamp cooler in the back of the house and if you are not familiar with them, you have to open a window a few inches to get the cold air to flow toward that area of the house. So, in this case, the living room window needs to be opened a few inches to pulled the cool air throughout the house. We based out of Lone Pine for 4 days of hiking and found this house perfect for our needs and would stay there again.

If you are fishing your way up or down 395 this place is exactly what ya need and nothing more. You can cook your catch and do your laundry, then walk around the corner to a fun saloon all before melting into a comfy bed. Next morning hit Alabama Hills Cafe and Bakery. Would/will stay again

Pretty basic 14’ wide place. We were there in August when it was 100 degrees out and the swamp cooler kept the room somewhat cooler and still sleepable…
Met our needs for just a few nights stay.
Best feature is location.

I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you so very much! The place was amazing and the hosts ability to be so flexible, allow us in hours early is unheard of. So thank you so much we had a fantastic time Mt Whitney was epic. We loved the place the bed sheets and pillows were so very soft and fluffy and the bath towels were great we loved the extra fluffy mats. The AC and fans were perfect. We had a great time and couldn't be more happy with your lovely cottage. We will be back another time.
Thanks again.

Cabin was super clean and well stocked. I stayed for two nights to get acclimated before climbing Mt. Whitney. It’s centrally located and cozy.

Perfect for our visit to lone pine to hike Whitney. We felt so fortunate to have stumbled on this little gem. It was well provisioned with all the essentials (and some nice additional touches) to make our stay comfortable, and the location can’t be beat. Will definitely hope to stay again next time we visit.

House is in a great location to walk to anything in town! Not to far from Whitney portal about a 30 min drive due to a detour. (But the detour is a beautiful drive). Shower was hot and comfy bed!

Cute little place. Great value. Loved that you could walk to everything in town.
Something to know going in, bring a smoke/carbon monoxide detector. I didn’t see any in the place and I would’ve slept a little better if I had brought one with. Otherwise, excellent affordable stay

I stayed here for a few days in order to trail run Mt. Whitney. The house is a good size for about 3 people, maybe 2 adults and 2 kids comfortably. The kitchen is a good size to whip up meals and the fridge is good as well. Shower felt great and the water pressure was solid.
Everything in Lone Pine is within walking distance so you can park your car in front of the house and walk around town without issue. We were able to run from the house into the Alabama Hills to warm up before we did Mt. Whitney the following day. Alabama Hills has some of the coolest rock formations I've ever seen.
The neighborhood is quiet and felt safe in my opinion. I will absolutely be staying here again and I am looking forward to the next trip there.

This property was very comfortable with one bedroom for two as well as a futon that could sleep two in the living/dining room area. The kitchen was bright and well equipped, the bathroom and shower were clean and there was the bonus of a washer and dryer in a back room. Enjoyed being able to walk to several good restaurants and a grocery store. Was our base for visits to Death Valley National Park and Alabama Hills. Not a fancy place but a homey one with comfortable seating and mattresses; would like to return!

Lovely little house, central but quiet
This property is a simple but lovely little house with adorable kitchen and living room. The AC is located in the washer room and does a good job in keeping the bedroom temperature pleasant at night. Everything is in walking distance but no street noise. Lovely place to stay!

3 men were in our rental. The property owners family was in a home around the corner. They graciously gave us their space as we were attending a town reunion and hotels were booked. ( A very small town)!hi have yet to hear from the property owner!

Our 3rd stay @ our favorite cottage!
We love this cottage. Has all the amenities you need to make for a very comfortable stay. This was the first time staying during a summer month, so the wall cooler was excellent to combat the heat of the day. Very comfy bed with great pillows and linens. We always enjoy our stay at Mr. Bork's cottage and will be back!
