Perfect place for passing through. Clean, comfortable beds and quiet. Great value. We’ll stay here again.

One of the cleanest motels I’ve ever been to

Great location, nice gentleman checking us in. Very quiet and comfy. Bed clothes clean but could use updating, fitted sheets kept slipping off

Excellent stop for Mt Whitney! It’s a motel. That’s what you get. It was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

Bathroom appeared to be clean. The linens and carpeting were disgusting. Carpeting looked like industrial grade from the 60’s. To me it looked like it needed a good shampooing. The sheets were a dark print, horrible feel, couldn’t tell if they were clean. The blanket??? Worst was the burgundy bed spread. Most places don’t use bed spreads anymore and definitely not with dust ruffle.

Nice room with good furnishings and everything worked. Parking is tight and the curtains don’t block the bright light from the parking area. The king bed was nice, with nice linens and pillows. I would stay here again.

The room was clean, older property - renovated. Parking was tight and inconvenient and I had to park off-site for my entire stay (either insufficient spaces or multiple vehicles per room) (my vehicle was mid-size sport/utility vehicle). Had an issue with check-in as their CC system receipt showed my CC was APPROVED, but the counter help told me it was DECLINED. I pointed out that the receipt showed approved and the counter person said they would check with their boss. When I returned for the night, the “boss” said my CC was declined. We discussed the fact that the receipt showed approved and ultimately I had to call my account CC company. After lengthy conversation, it was determined that the “pending” got the transaction was in place and awaiting finalization from the hotel (which is normal protocol as I know it). The counter help argued that their CC system was “direct POS system and therefore should have showed amount on receipt. Obviously not! So, I am inclined to believe the counter people do not understand the standard CC procedures for motels - kind of an issue when running a motel.

Shower needed more pressure, other than that, it was good.

Good clean place for the purpose of my travel

The pool was cool in these hot days. Otherwise a clean standard motel with all necessary amenities. Would stay again.

It's an average motel. Considering that Lone Pine does not have a single good hotel, this is fine. The room was nice and really clean, but nothing in it was remotely modern. An average rating is fine. The host/owner was friendly and available. So really, nothing negative about this place, but nothing special either.

This is a small, cramped 1950s motor lodge. Advertising pictures make it seem much bigger, so beware. Only 1 handicap parking spot. Room was clean but very tired & dated. Lighting was poor, especially over the sink/vanity combo. Purple walls, microwave yellowed with age. To be fair, the bed was very comfortable, but we won’t be back.

Clean and comfortable motel, ideally placed for Whitney Portal and Alabama Hills. Also well positioned when coming from LA to June Lake and Yosemite.

Everything but the half dozen roaches in the bathtub when I woke up was okay.

I stayed here during my trip to hike Mount Whitney and I found it to be a great location and overall good experience. Hotel owners were friendly and the process was pretty simple for check out. Absolutely beautiful view of Mount Whitney around back and will definitely be back!

A perfectly good place for a short stay. No complaints at all, just all a bit tired-looking and a bit expensive for what you got.

Is ok not all that but clean no beg bugs

Not very good, but adequate.
Bed was comfortable and clean, ac worked well, shower had good hot water, coffee maker worked well; a good number of usb outlets available for charging devices.
Lamp over one bed did not work (was LED so not fixable), only one pack of coffee makings (staying two nights) so had to go ask for more, no other options like tea until I asked for some; three styrofoam cups for coffee (paper would be microwavable); no options in lobby as shown in photos (cookies, coffee, etc); only two hand towels for three guests (but four bath towels, so that worked).
Expensive for what we got, but understandable for Labor Day weekend with no other accommodations available in town.

We stopped at Trails Motel for 1 night. We were driving an RV, but wanted a good shower and a bed for one night during a long drive.
The room was perfect - clean, large, good shower, simple but complete set up. 2 suggestions - first, I had a child with me and it's helpful to have a light on as we read and then they go to sleep. The room only had very white daylight light bulbs (even in the bedside lamps!) which are impossible have on while a child goes to sleep - please have at least 1 warmer bulb. Second, we put our waters in the fridge overnight, but the fridge was hardly cold - a note saying that the fridge is left on a warm setting would've been helpful.
The entryway says for tall vehicles to use the next entrance, which I did. But it didn't really mean that, it meant use the next road. So I got the RV trapped in the small parking lot. THEN when I did go an park behind the property (only necessary bc we were in a large/tall vehicle) it was unlit and very sketchy-looking. Would've been great to have lighting and/or cameras. I was pleased to find the RV intact in the morning.
Overall good, would return!

Stayed here for one night whilst travelling between Las Vegas and Yosemite.
Check in and parking was very easy.
The room is typical motel style, was clean and a fair price.
There’s a small pool which we had a walk around, but didn’t use.
We walked into town for a drink in the evening and took a takeaway pizza back with us for dinner.

Check in was very easy. Good place to stay for the night. Bed was rough, but expected. They have the most incredible view...with no outside patio or chairs

Checked in fairly late, so didn’t get a chance to use the pool. Person who checked us in was very courteous, room was quite spacious, well equipped with toiletries, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, iron & ironing board.

Typical old style motel. Everything in the room worked fine with the exception of a very noisy AC.

We really liked this motel form the day we pulled into the parking spot until the day we left the. There also a great place, walkable from the motel for breakfast, called the " Alabama".
It was a great stop on our way to Lake Tahoe.

Clean, comfortable place to stay after my JMT hike. On site laundry was a big plus. It is a couple of blocks to most of the restaurants in lone Pine, but Lone Pine is not big so it is easy to walk anywhere. The owners try to keep the place looking good with flowers and other attention to detail. I was completely satisfied with my stay.

Clean room with everything you need. Many restaurants nearby (walking distance). We loved the pool!

We needed a place to spend the night on trip to Southern Cal.
It was easy and close. The front fest was very nice. She went out of her way to help me with a telephone call since the cell phone service was temporarily out that night.

No pictures on the walls, old school poly ester bedspreads, worn out carpet. The small pool was a nice amenity for the kids, but unheated and way too cold for me to swim in. Owner seemed really unhappy, didn’t smile or say hello when we arrived.

Good clean, quiet room in town and close to restaurants.

Overall great!

My friend and I had a great stay. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the fridge was spacious, and most importantly the AC was new and effective at keeping the room cool while it was over 100°F outside.

Second time I stayed here while doing a climb of nearby Mt Whitney. There are no Ritz Carlton's in Lone Pine, but the Trails was perfect for my stay. Clean, quiet & convenient.

Towels were small, thin and rough. Baseboards dirty. No hairdryer.
