About this house rental
The space
Our three bedroom corner townhouse has a private first floor master furnished with a California King bed and office space. We are located a short walk to the famous Fairmont Orchid Hotel. The hotel's five restaurants can be used by the public. If you drive down for a meal they offer complimentary valet parking.
The beach at the Hotel is "Kid Safe," ; it is protected by a reef which also provides an excellent place for snorkeling. The Beach is open to the public, as are all the beaches on the island. The hotel features two beach side bars just steps from the ocean, providing the perfect place to watch the sunset and count the green sea turtles that come upon the beach to rest for the night. They are protected so you can look but do not touch.
A short drive away is our private Beach Club with its own restaurant and bar. Surf boards, stand up paddle boards and snorkel equipment can be rented for reasonable fees. A reef just to the left of the fine sand beach is great for snorkeling and is just steps from all the other beech fun.
Just down the street from the Villa are the "Shops at Mauna Lani" including a full service grocery store priced for and used guests and locals. Fine dining restaurants including Ruth Chris And Tommy Bahama are in this same plaza. Shops that feature Island Coffee and Smoothies made from local ingredients are also located here.
Stop by on Thursday and check out the schedule for the free Polynesian cultural shows. The Thursday evening show features authentic performances showcasing Polynesian culture. You could even get picked to show your own hula skills.
Guest access
The villa is a five-minute drive to six award winning golf courses and the best sandy and protected beaches in Hawaii. Hapuna has-been voted "Best Big Islands Beach" and is only a fifteen minute drive away.
Drive ten minutes in the other direction and you will find your camera for photos that look like they came from a postcard. Probably the most photographed Beach on the island This beach is known by locals and visitors as A Bay at waikoloa.
Varied shopping and dining can be found at the King's Shops the Queen Market Place and at the Marriott Hotel just before you get to A-Bay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s a very nice property with excellent pool and beach access. Top notch.

Our family of five had space to spread out in this large two story resort lodging. We loved the small backyard space for lounging. Gorgeous trees dropping wonderful flowers around the property. Fantastic pool.

Lots of supplies, nice high end place to stay. Owners nice and easy to deal with, had absolutely no problems. Great area, quiet community. Great if you want to get away from the rat race but still be close to amenities.

Great place to stay! All as advertised. Access to the beach club was awesome! We enjoyed our family vacation.

The condo was well appointed and equipped with a comfortable and spacious master bedroom. The full-sized kitchen had condiments and spices for use. The patio was quite private, shielded with a tall bamboo hedge. However, that also made it feel a bit hemmed in with no view of grounds or scenery. The tree canopy attracted lots of birds for viewing from the patio, which was nice. I wish the patio grill was in better working order and there wasn’t an additional $25 cleaning charge for its use. The hotel nearby offered an outdoor bar from which to view the fabulous sunsets. The private beach club was great! The Pool just steps away from the condo was beautiful!

We couldn’t have asked for a better home base for our trip to the Big Island! The fact that you have a pool within arms distance and access to two private beaches we couldn’t have asked for anything better! We never really had to leave our area - except for shave ice at the Original Big Island Shave Ice, Co!
The home was clean, welcoming, and had many amenities in home that made the stay feel as if we were home. Owners were very communicative and provided us details for the stay that were extremely helpful in planning.
We hope to be back again soon - THANK YOU!

Great stay at the Fairways with lots of room, great access to the pool - steps away; a short drive to the beach club, groceries, Fairmont Orchid and Auberge Resort - we were truly in the sweet spot of the Mauna Lani/Waikoloa area. The house was equipped with everything we needed for a day at the beach which made packing a breeze. Daily walks into grab a coffee, lunch or a few small groceries was no more than 8-10 minutes - just don’t forget to bring your own bags, as the island is plastic free. Communication with Paul was fast and courteous - lots of help with restaurant recommendations too!
We will definitely stay again!

Our family of 4 truly enjoyed this home over Thanksgiving week. Plenty of space and lots of toys (cooler, noodles, chairs)…to make the trip easier. Very private lanai and bbq worked great! House is very well equipped with Vitamix, rice cooker and a huge TV. Location is close to the pool. We would definitely stay again. Host was very responsive. Thank you for sharing your very lovely home.

Condo was clean and well stocked. Even had a bunch of toys, beach activities and a great pool for our kids. We would definitely come back again.

We have stayed in this wonderful complex before and this unit was absolutely perfect. The living area has a great feel and is big enough for a family of five to relax. The bedrooms are good sized and everything was as described. We will definitely be looking to stay here again on our next visit.

The house had everything we needed and more. The beds were all super comfortable, and we enjoyed having ceiling fans and stand fans in each bedroom. The front closet was fully stocked with snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach toys and more. Kitchen is equipped with plenty of pots, pans, spices and utensils to cook meals, if you choose.

Clean, comfortable, quiet home. Quality all around. Beautiful grounds and fabulous pool and hot tub. Access to Mauna Lani Beach Club a bonus.

We have stayed in a wide variety of vacation rentals over the years, and this is definitely one of the best! Pictures do not do it justice… the condo is spacious, spotlessly clean and incredibly well stocked. The property owner was responsive, helpful and accommodating. The pool area is beautiful and never crowded. I would definitely recommend this rental and would love to stay again in the future.

We had the best time staying at this location. The house is better then the photos, well stocked with everything you need and more, and the location is fantastic. We would come back again in a heartbeat! Thank you Paul for a great week!

This property was amazing for our 10 day stay with 7 total people. Paul was a valuable resource for us, with information about local things to do, and answered questions/concerns immediately. The home was comfortable, and well stocked. There is plenty of the "little things' available to you. Laundry soap, garbage sacks, pool towels, and man, the water toy closet! Check there first before you buy/rent from anywhere. We have a lovely stay. Thank you Paul!

We've stayed in Mauna Lani several times. This property did not disappoint. If you haven't you're missing out. Pool l, beach clubG club, golf... what's not to like. Great access to amenities. One of the best stocked houses we've ever stayed at. That made our stay so comfortable and fun. Great communication from the owner throughout the process. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was terrific. Owners were responsive to all our questions. Only disappointment was that water filters in refrigerator needed replacement. We had to buy drinking water as unfiltered water is very hard. But owners offered to compensate us for this.

The townhouse was a wonderful home base for our Big Island adventures. The property was spacious, clean, and well stocked. It is located close to the pool, which is a great perk too. We love staying in the Mauna Lani area because it is so peaceful and relaxing.

A beautiful home in an amazing setting! The home was quiet, relaxing, & fully stocked. We had everything we could have possibly wanted for the beach. Amazing beaches! The access to the Beach Club was a huge bonus. Lovely swimming pool. A true retreat!!

The property location was great. Paul was quick to help when there was a water issue due to a clog AC pipe. So that required workmen a couple days. But they were quick and courteous.

Amazing Big Island Family Vacation
Special thanks to Paul for the opportunity to enjoy this amazing house and community during our family vacation to celebrate my Dad's retirement. Paul is an excellent host, making sure to communicate with you throughout the initial contact to final checkout process. He went out of his way to answer our questions and provide great ideas for us to check out during our time in Kona. Additionally, the house has a wonderful open living space, kitchen amenities (e.g. variety of cooking ware, spices, and supplies), and three comfortable bedrooms. They also had a great front closet with all kinds of beach accessories. I highly recommend this property and location and look forward to visiting again one day in the future. Thanks for a great trip, and for being a wonderful host!

Beautiful townhouse at a great location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the second half of August. There was plenty of space for the two of us and our three grown children. Lanai is very nice and the pool at the complex is a good size and very close to the townhouse. Kitchen and bathrooms were large and well stocked. It was nice to have big screen TVs in the living room and master bedroom. Upstairs bedrooms have TVs, too. We enjoyed having a BBQ in the lanai and appreciated having an extra gas tank filled in case we needed it. The owner was very quick to answer any emailed questions and kept us updated with information about the volcano and hurricane situations well ahead of time. He also went to extra length to accommodate our request to extend our stay beyond the previously booked time. We would definitely stay at this place again in the future.

Wonderful townhouse
We are a Swedish family of four that spent two weeks during Christmas at this wonderful property. The house is very spacious and well kept and is equipped with everything you will need. There is a lovely lanai with a grill which we used a lot. The surroundings are green and calm with the pool close by. The pool is great and not at all crowded. There are lots of beaches near by. We usually went to Honoma beach or to the Beach club. The snorkling at the Beach club is even better than that at the snorkling tour at the Cook monument.
John has been very supportive and all our questions both before and during our stay has got answers promptly (thankyou Gabrielle).
We can really recommend this property and hope to be able to return someday.

Sooo glad we chose this unit! This is a refreshing, nicely updated condo. Bamboo flooring throughout the entire ground floor (no damp, musty carpet or cold tile). The furniture is modern (I'm not a fan of the super uncomfortable wicker furniture every other condo in Hawaii has). The place has 2 levels and is extremely spacious. Plenty of room for our party of 4 adults and 3 kids.
Extremely well appointed, including great snorkel gear, beach gear, spices, a pack n play, and even a Vit-a-Mix!
The Mauna Lani beach (the resort's beach) might be better than any other beach we visited on the island (all things considered)! Great snorkeling, sheltered little bay, uncrowded, white sands beach! Close and easy access... Only down side is it's not walking distance. In fact, not much is walking distance (except the Fairmont orchid hotel which has an ok beach, a good beachside restaurant, and access to the beautiful shoreline trail... amazing sunsets!).
The Fairways are beautiful, secure, quiet condos with easy driving access to services in a nice, central location on the island (convenient home base for wherever you want to take an excursion). However, if you're looking for a place with an ocean view or from which you can walk to the beach and shops, then you should look at different condo complexes).
Paul was quick to respond and was VERY accommodating! We felt right at home staying here. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time last week at the the Mauna Lani condo. Parking is right out front and the unit is very easy to find. A grocery store is very close to get all your needs. It's a beautiful home that looks to be recently renovated; photos online don't do it justice. The pictures on the wall are all from the island. Inspiration to explore! The pool is right around the corner, and there's a small gym in the facility. The best part of this place is location. It's near a TON of beaches. All beaches in Hawaii are public. Some are harder to get to than others but the owner provides some insight in the book in the house. The house itself is very spacious. The master is very large and there is grilling equipment on the back patio as well as an outdoor living/eating area. Also, there is a closet full water toys and beach accessories, along with a pack n play for babies. The house was well stocked with all kitchen accessories. Overall it was a wonderful experience, and we would absolutely stay here again. What a wonderful trip! We'd go back again in a heartbeat!
