About this cabin rental
Moose Haven is a terrific and centrally located property! Beautifully updated in 2017 with all new furnishings, it is the perfect place to recharge as it is quiet and calming. Listen to the Tonahutu River babble while reading, creating art, or enjoying a meal. Watch the sunset over Mount Baldy. Stroll along Grand Lake or peruse the eclectic shops along the town boardwalk.
In the summer, rent a kayak, paddle board or a pontoon boat to cruise out on the lake or visit the local historical museum. Go fishing at the point in Lemmon Lodge or fly fish in the river out the back door! In the evening, enjoy dinner at the cabin or a walk into town and enjoy any of the great local restaurants. Play badminton, volleyball, or horseshoe on the grounds. You can even kayak from our property to the fantastic Historic Rapids Lodge and enjoy a wonderful meal. After dinner, take in a show at our award-winning Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater. Get an ice cream cone at the Grand Lake Chocolates or Miyauchi's Snack Bar while watching the stars glisten on the lake.
Winter? Grand Lake is a WINTER WONDERLAND! Perfect for snow activities, snowboarding/downhill skiing is between 35 minutes at Granby Ranch for the novice to intermediate or for families on a budget and about 55 minutes to the famous and expansive Winter Park Ski Area. Go hiking, cross-country skiing, or snow shoeing on the numerous nearby trails of Rocky Mountain National Park. Grand Lake is considered one of the best snow mobile places in the country, with rentals nearby. Grand Lake is also known for it's ice fishing. The fantastic Grand Lake Golf Course has been touted as one of the prettiest and it doubles as a cross-country ski area for those who prefer groomed trails to making your own.

Loved our stay, it’s the second time we’ve been at this property. Manager/owner was quick to reply and helpful when needed. The cabin functions beautifully for a family of 5 with young kids. Love being on the inlet and close to the LL private beach.

We loved our stay at Moose Haven. We stayed over July 4th week with (2) adults and (3) kids age 12. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything you need. It sits right on the river - the views are beautiful and peaceful. The location is amazing in Lemmon Lodge -- private beach, river and lake access for kayaks and paddle boards and you can walk to everything in town. We would definitely stay at this property again.

We had a great time at this cozy cabin by the River connected to grand Lake, it’s peaceful, and yet you can walk a few hundred yards down the street and be right downtown where all the amenities and food and people the Music were amazing. We really enjoyed our stay here at grand Lake. Thank you so much.

From this quiet cabin we had some nice walks along the stream and out onto a small peninsula which juts into and looks out onto the lake. We enjoyed the short walk into town and to the nearby beach which is a perfect location to view the Saturday evening fireworks show which marks the end of the annual Grand Lake US Constitution Week activities.
The owner, Calvin Ames, is very responsive and friendly. He always got back to us promptly, usually within a few minutes, whenever we had a suggestion or request.
We will be returning again next year.

Although we spent little time in the cabin, it was comfortable and clean. The room with the bunk bed is perfect to put all your kids in while the parents can get their own master with a porch overlooking the river. It was really nice to have all the Keurig cups available for coffee in the morning. While we were there in the summer, it looks like it would be really cozy for fall and winter getaways.

Great location fabulous owner, so greatly appreciate going every year!! As a cancer patient, it’s a great gift to be able to go on vacation and Grandlake is beautiful! Would appreciate if one of the larger beds was not a foam mattress, they are hot and uncomfortable ,but we made do and hope someday they go back to a classic style of mattress…. This cabin is our family tradition and it is absolutely lovely!!

We absolutely LOVED everything about our stay. The house was clean and well equipped with everything you could need for a fun and relaxing stay. The location is just perfect! My kids enjoyed the kayaks with the private beach and playground. It truly was a dream getaway!! Thank you so much for sharing this piece of paradise with us!!

Great location, beautifully decorated and the wildlife! Enjoyed watching the moose, chipmunks and tiny grey squirrels. Short walk to stores, restaurants and lake. Very close to hiking, snow shoeing and snowmobiling areas. So fun!

We so appreciated our stay in a classic Colorado cabin right on the water and among gorgeous old pines. It was comfortable, quiet and peaceful, and we could easily walk to the lake or in to town. The owners really have it decorated with a mountain flair!

We loved staying at this cozy property! The cabin was cute with everything you need with a lovely backyard to enjoy the water. It was a great location too with just block walk to the main street restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this property and this gracious host!

Great Trip
Our family has been coming to the Lemmon Lodge for many years. We thoroughly enjoyed location and proximity to river. Access to the kayaks major plus! Lots of memories made this year fishing and hiking. Hope to return next year.

- meditating on the river in the mornings
- seeing goslings float by at the beach
- using the kayaks EVERY day on the lake
- fully equipped kitchen for cooking and grilling
- very private backyard area for hanging out with family
- big family room for playing games at night
- short walk to the point to grill s'mores
- come here again, soon, for a longer time- 7 days just seemed like it was BARELY enough time here
- great to work with, responsive, fair price for a fantastic location, really can't beat the privacy, quiet, and beach location
