Perfect location right by the beach with amazing views. Well-equipped and cozy, ideal for a relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend!

Overall we had a great time however there were some inaccuracies in the VRBO description of the property. This house is not oceanfront, it's across the street from the beach with a view of the ocean. You walk across the street to a public path that takes you to the beach. It's also about a 20 min walk into downtown Cannon Beach, not a 1 min walk. Lastly, the fireplace doesn't work, or maybe it does but you're not allowed to use it per city ordinance so that was disappointing (and there is no firepit). All of that said, the rest of the house itself is cute and as described. It was a little cozy for 2 adults and 3 kids but we made it work. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook - we enjoyed our stay.

House is charming and great location.

This place is perfect with beach access right across the street and easy walking distsnce into town for restaurants and shops. There are even elk down the street that would stop and eat near the street. The house was clean, beds comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. House was dated and could be upgraded and remodeled but everything was functional. Sitting on the back deck was also enjoyable.
we needed. .

The house is charming and delightful and the location (with easy access to the beach) was perfect four our family.

Two best friends made the trek to Cannon Beach, after talking about it for years. Wr we're quite comfortable, and loved how close to the beach the cottage is. The back deck is quite enjoyable and private.

Great location, and the photos are accurate. The home is poorly maintained. No instructions for the TV. Floor lamps in the master bedroom didn't work. The second bedroom had a floor lamp whose wires were exposed at the light bulb. Someone had put scotch tape around the wire. Clearly a dangerous and unsafe condition.
The biggest issue was the keypad lock. The code I was given didn't work. I called and got access to a key which stopped working the second day. It would not consistently lock or unlock the house. I was moved to another Vacasa rental, and that home's keypad didn't work either.
I received a message from a blocked number. It was a Vacasa property manager, who offered me a $25 "Inconvenience Fee". She never called back, and I have not received payment. BTW, that $25 fee covers 1 hour of my rental rate for this property. I will never rent from Vacasa again.

Home is in a great location . Older home that could use some updating, but the location was great . Easy access to beach .

First of all the location was perfect...right across the street to the entrance of chapman beach. Then trying to enter the passcode to the front door was ridiculous. 20 numbers on a rickety door! The primary bed was very comfortable...and the rest of the house needed an update. The kitchen with everything in it , seemed like it was purchased at a yard sale. Dilapated, run down and old! Kitchen cabinets doors were loose, fireplace was broken. Kitchen lighting was horrible but they tried to fix it by bringing in 2 LED lights that had dead batteries. 2 years ago someone mention this also. For being a home that is worth 1.3 million...the owners should have some pride and address these issues.

Very well used space and very clean. Really good location. The fireplace was out of order and that was disappointing, we actually brought firewood with us (but it didn't go to waste- we just used it for a fire on the beach). Overall a very pleasant stay.

Peaceful area of Cannon Beach, with great beach access.

This house was so cozy and pleasant! Lots of local art and fun knickknacks, everything we needed was here, plenty of space and a very appreciated fenced in backyard, beach toys, TONS of books, and right across from beach access. One note is that it's not super toddler-friendly with so many breakable things at toddler height, but there was plenty to keep them occupied so it wasn't an issue. Would definitely recommend!

Cute little house. Great private location. A couple of housekeeping issues that came to our attention toward the end of our stay but overall a good rental.

Great location across from Chapman Beach. We’re close to Ecola State Park. It was a short walk to the restaurants and shops.

Awesome location! On the north side of town just far enough to feel like you were somewhat secluded, but not far enough to be inconvenient. The place was the the perfect size for our family of four, you could fit six but it might start feeling a little crowded.
The beach access is amazing and feels like a private beach almost on the north end of the town, as well as the proximity to Ecola state park which has more awesome beaches and forest hiking and cliff side hiking.

Overall this was a very nice place to stay. The back deck is good for a larger gathering —we were six. We thought that one bedroom had a pull out sofa but the sofa was in the living room. Also, the second bedroom was tiny—room only for the bed and a small chair. One could barely crawl around the bed to get in. The entire house was clean and the kitchen was well appointed. The two chairs in the living room are on their last legs (or rims). We didnt spend a lot of time in the house because there is a wonderful beach across the street!

Can’t beat the location! Very comfortable 2 bedroom with pullout sofa. Supplied with everything you need. This is our 2nd time renting this place.

A very nice house on a quiet Chapman Beach in a quiet neighborhood. There are 2 parking spaces, the beds were comfortable, the wifi worked well. The house layout is good, and it's furnished nicely. If you want to walk into Cannon Beach there is a stream that prevents going down the beach and it's about a mile walk into downtown Cannon Beach by road.

Our family loved the house, location, very clean, everything was in place just like home, Thank you

We stayed with our adult children and two young grandsons in this ocean-view cottage for 4 full days which should have been longer!! The location, at the far north end of Cannon Beach in a residential neighborhood, just could not have been better. The house had a worn, used-in ambience which actually made our time there quite relaxing and less worry-free with two boys rushing about. Ditto regarding the cleanliness of the house. It was surface clean with important sinks/showers and toilets very clean. I appreciated that there was not a long list of "rules" and "don'ts" to follow. We could have used an extra bedroom as the second one with a bed and trundle was small, but we managed. This would not be the case if the kids had been larger, or Dad had not minded sleeping on the couch. For those planning to stay, be sure and bring your own condiments and dishwashing cloths and drying towels. Would love the opportunity to stay again, albeit with perhaps just two of us.

Location is excellent for access to Chapman Beach however not easy to reclimb from beach if you are out of shape. Cottage is needing some TLC. Twin bed is uncomfortable for an adult.

Beach cottage
It was in a great location. You could just walk across the street and you were on the beach. I loved the there were locol elk wondering around the neighborhood. The kitchen could use some better lighting as it was pretty dark near the cook top.

Quiet Location
Tucked away from the crowds but immediate access to beach. Loved that it was clean and nice but not fancy. Felt more like a comfortable cabin and less like an upscale beach house.

Fun at the beach!
Our stay at Canon Beach was perfect. The house is perfectly situated to the beach access with a stunning view. Even rainy days are welcome thanks to the beautiful wood burning fireplace. House was very clean and everything was in good working order. We would definately book again.

Stay
The cabin was very quaint and nicely decorated. The double bed was comfortable but the two twin beds were not. The twin beds were OK maybe for kids but not adults. Close to the beach.

Lovely ocean view, but as stated in other reviews many things are dated in this home.

Overall great stay!
Exceptions are the stove was not cleaned . No light for the bbq. BBQ was dirty. And toilet seat not clean. The comforter on day bed is torn, iron board not covered, no place to hang clothes up. Other than that it was a comfortable and beautiful place! Would definitely go back!!!

Great location!
We really enjoyed the location as it was right across the street from the beach trail and very quiet. The home was clean, but needs lots of updates &/or repairs. For our purposes (a "seniors" sister's weekend in Cannon Beach) it met our needs, but we'll look elsewhere for future stays.

The Perfect Stay for a Family
This is our second stay at Chapman Cottage and my family loved it. We really love the less crowded Chapman Beach and “secret” beach next door that can be reached during low tide. My kids (8 & 11) had no issues sleeping in the trundle bed and thought it was kinda neat. The house is well equipped and met all our needs. I’m sure we’ll be back again as this is such a beautiful location!

Excellent location but the cottage is not worth the money
This was our family’s first trip to Cannon Beach and we loved it. The Chapman Cottage was somewhat of a disappointment. The house is very old, needs a deep clean and lacks many amenities you would expect from a beach rental (no beach towels or chairs were available for use). The queen bed was adequate but the day bed and trundle bed were not sufficient for teenagers (trundle bed says 40lb weight limit on it-this was not mentioned in the listing). The backyard is overgrown and overall, the house felt old and not maintained. The absolute highlight of the house is the location which could not be beat. We will definitely return to Cannon Beach and stay in a different rental next time.

Great location; wonderful view
My husband and I enjoyed staying at this cozy cottage, which has a view of the ocean and is within a few feet of the path to a beautiful beach. We walked this very long, beautiful beach daily and, although the weather was not the best, it was so lovely and peaceful there that we did not want to leave! Can also walk into the quaint town where you will find many restaurants and shops. Close to Astoria and other prime tourist locations. Kitchen is stocked well and there is a nice backyard as well.
