We really enjoyed our stay at Mary’s place! First, her and her dog, Charlie, are wonderful hosts. Second, the location can’t be beat. Third, the casita was very comfortable and had everything we needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay with Mary again.

The property is within easy walking distance to the malecón, restaurants, shops and the Wednesday tianguis. The casita is comfortable and the well-equipped kitchen allows for meal preparation. Mary is a wonderful host who met me on arrival and helped me find my bearings in the area. She was always available to answer questions but never intrusive. I hope to stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

My recent stay at this charming 2nd-floor casita in Ajijic was nothing short of magical. Nestled amidst lush tropical gardens, the property offered breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and Lake Chapala. The spacious open-concept design, coupled with the tasteful Mexican-inspired decor, created an inviting and serene atmosphere.
The casita was fully equipped with modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay. I especially loved the private patio, which was a perfect spot for enjoying enjoying the languid mornings. The highlight, however, was the mirador on the third floor, offering spectacular vistas that were simply unforgettable; a great place to catch the sun's rays as well as the perfect spot to catch the beautiful sunsets over Lake Chapala.
Location-wise, it was ideally situated. Just a minute's walk from the Lake and a short stroll to Ajijic's vibrant plaza, I had easy access to local markets, cafes, and galleries. Just a short walk from La Bodega where they have open mics on Wednesday evenings; the host, Mary, was exceptionally gracious and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. Not only that, Mary and a few of the other people staying there came to see me perform at the open mic this past week. I felt like I had been adopted into a wonderful family!
I brought my little dog Max Muppy who got to meet Mary's adorable dog Charlie. What a treat to have a place where my dog was so warmly welcomed!
Will definitely be back!

Foremost, Mary is a gracious and thoughtful host. The apartment we rented was divine! Well appointed, lovely views in a residential neighborhood, and with easy access to restaurants and shops, it is the perfect place for a stay in this charming Mexican town.

Better than expected by far
Mary's property was beautiful, well maintained, and comfortable. She has done a fabulous job of decorating and it really made the stay nice. The casita was well outfitted with anything we might need, including total privacy. She thought of everything. Mary was very helpful and available for any questions that we had. We can't say enough about what a great stay it was.

Stay in paradise
Just returned from a two week stay in Mary s second floor casita. It is a fabulous unit with tons of light in living room, and beautifully and artfully decorated. There are 2 other casitas which surround the stunning garden. Made friends with the other tenants. Excellent location. Close walk to malecon, plaza, restaurants, and grocery store. One caveat is the streets are cobblestone and many sidewalks are uneven so wear good shoes. Mary is an excellent host and couldn’t do enough for us. Took us wherever we needed to go and referred us to any resourced we needed
Her little dog Charlie is the frosting on the cake, as is as the avocado tree !
Last but not least, we could drink the water and flush the toilet paper, a plus in Mexico . cannot wait to return!!

Casita sublime
We had a wonderful stay in Mary's "casita" on the second floor. She was a wonderful host and the amenities--the handy laundry, the free phone to the States--make her place really special. The location is perfect--near a fully stocked grocery store and easy bus to Chapala or a short walk to the Ajijic plaza, two blocks from the lake. We're planning a return trip and wouldn't stay any place else.

Mary Bushbaum’s casita in Ajijic Mexico
Gerry and I stayed at Mary’ s casita from March 1-31 2019. It was wonderful. Mary met us when we got there and showed us around. She helped us with anything we needed. The casita was a good size, nicely furnished and clean. Tons of hot water for showers and easy access to a washer and dryer. Our patio was beautiful filled with bougenvali and oleander. In addition, we looked out towards the mountains. Location worked very well, we were close to everything. Can’t wait to stay at her place again.

Great location
Mary makes everyone feel welcome and at home. we enjoyed being 1 of 3 casitas in the yard and spotted many bird species right out our window! The area was quiet and safe and we walked most everywhere. Ajijic is a great community. If you get bored it is your own fault.

Absolutely beautiful, serene and comfortable! A little bit of paradise!
By far the best away from home we have ever experienced! Mary and Charlie are the best hosts ever. We always felt welcome. Such a lovely place! We have never had a host go so far out of the way to make us feel so comfortable. The village is lovely and the people were so very welcoming.

Centrally Located Gem in Aijijic
A beautiful apartment , a short walk from the Wednesday market in the middle of Aijijic. It is close to everything, shopping, the malecon, many dining options from Alex's Pasta Bar, Jardin de Nanette to the Falafel truck across the Carretra. The apartment is light and airy, and well furnished with everything you need. It's spacious, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. It's wonderful sitting on the patio, enjoying the sun, listening to the sounds of the neighborhood. Or walk up the block to catch a bus to Chapala and other points. Mary is a wonderful hostess, ready to answer all questions, provide information, and help arrange drivers. She even tried finding us an open restaurant on Christmas Day night! You will also fall in love with Charley, her little dog.

Great stay!
First time to the area and can't believe our luck in finding such a nice place to stay in such a great location and the icing on the cake was our host, Mary. She started out as our host and now has become a friend. We are so grateful Mary for your hospitality and for your friendship!
This property is walking distance to great restaurants, shopping and more. The property is a gem in the middle of Ajijic!

Absolutely Wonderful!
From the minute we arrived (after several delays with the airlines), we felt right at home with Mary. She will always feel like family to us. She was so kind to take us to buy a few groceries and make us feel right at home. We enjoyed having Charlie greet us. Her place is within walking distance to almost everything which made it nice for us.
The room had a great view, and the bed was comfortable which meant a lot to us!
Thank you Mary.....for being a great host! We hope to see you (and Charlie) again real soon!

Amazing.
I stayed in the 2nd floor unit and felt like I was in the trees with the beautiful birds and sounds of swaying palms. Just magical. The owner is an amazing host. Was so attentive. Met us at the door and then waived goodbye. What a wonderful experience. I will go back again and again. Thank you.

Peaceful and stunning getaway!
My husband and I so enjoyed our 12 days at Casa de los Suenos in Casita Ariba on the second floor with glorious views of the grounds and mountains and views of the lake from the mirador look out.
Mary Bushbaum was so helpful and accommodating, and it was always a joy to be met by her loveable canine mascot, Charlie, when we came through the gates!
Casa de los Suenos is in an ideal location close to the lake, shops, town center and many delectable restaurants.
We certainly will be returning to this wonderful and peaceful hideaway!
Thank you, Barbara, for your generous hospitality!
Love,

The Ideal Casita
How we loved staying in this beautiful, art filled casita! Butterflies and birdsong, a fountain gurgling it was a delight to waken each morning to the charms and delights of the garden. The casita was quiet with comfortable furniture. Despite its seclusion it was a quick walk to nearby shops and excellent restaurants. We will be staying here on our return to Ajijic.

Treehouse Shangri-La
This was our second time this year to stay at Mary’s place. Ahhhhhhhh. Private. Airy. Big window views in almost every direction. I’ll leave the rest for you to discover. And, as always, Mary is a font of wonderful support and local information!

Mary's Place is Superb
Mary and her casitas are very nice. We spent nine days with her on our first trip to Ajijic. Not having traveled very much in Mexico outside of the usual tourist traps we were somewhat apprehensive about our trip to Ajijic.
From the time Mary greeted us at the front gate until we left nine days later we felt right at home. Mary was the perfect hostess. She made herself available to answer our many questions about the area and its potential as a new retirement destination.
The casita was perfect for our needs. It was spotlessly clean and provisioned with the essentials for daily living. It was a quiet place of refuge after long days walking and exploring all that the Lake Chapala area had to offer.
The patio area outside our casita and the mirador above it were also wonderful. We spent much time sitting out there enjoying the awesome views of the lake and surrounding mountains and enjoying the pleasant breeze.
In conclusion, you cannot go wrong booking a stay with Mary at her casita! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Very comfortable Casita
Mary is a marvelous hosts and if you need anything she is there to assist you. Just like family. The casita has everything you need and very clean. The queen size bed was comfortable to sleep and the shower room is large with plenty: hot water, towels. Casita is centrally located in Ajijic. Walking distance to town. The people are friendly and very safe to explore. There are several taxis and buses to take you to Chapala or Jocotepec. Overall my wife and I had a fabulous time in Ajijic .

Spacious and private upstairs casita.
We arrived in Ajijic in the early morning hours off a red eye flight. Mary was right there to greet us and show us to our casita where we would spend the next 15 days. She even offered to drive me to the store so I could get some food and supplies.
We spent a lot of time on our private patio when we were not exploring the town. The casita has lots of windows that allow for great cross ventilation and has a spacious and comfortable feel. Mary was helpful in every way. We are Lakeside residents now and would recommend any of Mary's lovely accommodations. This property is walking distance to Ajijic's town center and its vast array of restaurants and shops.

Wonderful Casita
We recently had a wonderful vacation at this lovely Casita. It has everything you would want for your comfort. The living room is large and bright and colorfully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped for any cooking you want to do and there is lots of storage space and a very comfortable Queen size bed. Also this Casita provides a washing machine and dryer for your use which comes in very useful if you are staying a while. We also enjoyed the nice private patio where you can sit and listen to the many birds and catch up on that book....
We were a short walk to the Lake and the many restaurants in Ajijic. Grocery shopping is a 15 minute walk from the Casita and the Wednesday market is a stroll along the cobbled streets where you can buy the freshest fruits and vegetables as well as many local crafts. We would often spend an hour or so at the market and then go to a little cafe a short walk away for lunch.
Mary, our host was a delight and very helpful with suggestions of places to see. We very much enjoyed our stay at this Casita and are planning a return trip.

True Mexican Charm
We recently had the pleasure of staying in this well appointed casita for month of November. It is charming, comfortable and well appointed. Our hostess, Mary went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. This was our first trip to real Mexico. Many times to P.V. and the Baja, however, if you want to experience Mexico, Ajijic is the place to be and this is the place to stay. It is bright and cheery with fabulous views from the patio and the mirador. We were three houses up from the lake and an 8-10 minute walk to the heart of Ajijic. We are already planning a return trip next winter. If you are a foody, you will LOVE this town with over 100 restaurants that will appeal to every palette. The grocery store el Torito is a five minute and Walmart is a 15 minute walk. Everything is in pesos and there are weekly street market with some fabulous fresh offerings. This is NOT a tourist trap, there are no t-shirt shops and so on, it is real people trying to survive in the real world. Brush up on your Spanish, as the locals really appreciate the attempt to communicate in the native tongue.
