The family-friendly living room frames picture windows and just beyond it reside a 3/4 bathroom with a granite vanity, a linen closet and the main floor bedroom with a queen bed, new carpet, a built-in closet and that spectacular view!
Descend the spiral staircase to the bunk room. The kiddos will go crazy over two custom bunk beds and two built-in berths, each with its own storage area and night light. The kids' room is complete with puzzles, games and ample room to play. The lower level also features new carpet, a second bedroom with a queen bed and its own private entrance, and a full bath with an over-sized washer and dryer.
DBBC is located at Double Bluff Beach and County Park, a premier spot for outdoor water sports and activities including fishing, crabbing, clamming, kayaking, kiteboarding, skimboarding and paddleboarding. While you are here, be sure to visit Langley -- South Whidbey's charming, seaside village -- for strolling, shopping, whale watching and dining.

This has to be one of the most beautiful settings on Whidbey. The weather was gorgeous and we spent most of the time on the stunning deck or walking the large expanse of beach. Double Bluff has everything we needed for a fun gathering of friends.

I loved staying in an authentic beach house designed with shiplap appearance and a private path to the beach. The view is serene.

This house was perfect for our two families. We had a great time at the beach playing & spent a lot of time on the deck playing games / taking in the views. The access to the property includes a lot of stairs to haul your stuff to the house. Overall we had a great stay.

Great space! Beautiful view of the water/beach. We enjoyed the outside firepit and patio. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed for our visit. Owner was great to deal with. We’d definitely stay here again.

Truly a fantastic stay on Whidbey Island's best kept secret. The location can't be beat! We look forward to another trip at this wonderful cabin. Thank you, Paul!

Amazing beach house stay off Double Bluff Beach, great view and cozy beach house.

This is a quaint comfortable cabin that sits above the beach on the side of a hill. The view is lovely, short walk to a sandy beach which is perfect for walks & scenery.
For any guests with physical limitations the stairs will be challenging. Inside the house there is a spiral metal staircase to the basement. We preferred not to use it as it didn’t feel stable. There is a door downstairs to the outside, so we used the outdoor stairs to the upper level.
We had issues with the heat not working in a section of the house. A message was sent to the manager but this was not resolved before our departure. There is also a bit of a sewer gas smell downstairs so we slept with the windows open. The cleaning fee seems a bit high since we were tasked with stripping beds, starting laundry, dishes & taking the garbage out.
The setting is great, beach is fantastic, and it is in a nice area. Stores close by. It was nice size for the 4 of us (2 couples)

Amazing views and perfect deck. The dog beach is very entertaining and our dogs were in heaven!

We had a great time on the beach. The trail meandered from the parking area out to the water.
We were disappointed that the propane tank was empty, so no barbecue. The property was as promised.

The Double Bluff Beach Club property is excellent, we're already booking another family adventure for July! The proximity to the beach can't be beat, no neighbors anywhere around. High overlook views give a perfect setting for enjoying the scenery. They've got a very cute dog bed and dog blankets w chew toys and other items... excellent touch. The proximity neighborhood is perfect for kids riding bikes (only a portion is 'open' to public, but it's enough for kids to do some laps on smooth asphalt. private drive past signs)
The property could use a few items to really make it shine. Seating for meals is limited to the outside deck chairs and table; which isn't a deal if it's nice weather. Otherwise you're sitting at the bar (4 bar seats) or the inside couch. Outdoor table only seats 6. The deck is large, but there's only one small umbrella that only works w the table. A moveable shade umbrella would definitely be an improvement, especially for the Adirondack chairs. Plus side; there are massive trees to that give shade most of the day. The kitchen is equipped but sparse... a few more key items would help: more prep and serving bowls, outdoor bowls for snacks. Some of the supplied items we couldn't find; outdoor foot wash bin, dog bowl for drinking, outside shower wasn't turned on. (we turned on the shower but wasn't much communicated appreciation for saving the owner a trip for the handyman) The outdoor shower is grand; so nice to have a shower and get that incredible view. Unfortunately, shower only produces 'warm' water for some reason; a little cold for younger kids... but warm enough to be tolerable. Refreshing on a hot day for sure.
A gate for dogs and kids at the top of the stairs would be a good improvement. Wouldn't recommend the property for families w toddlers, stairs are not perfectly spaced/built so require nimble feet. Deck apron is uneven and easily tripped for young walkers. The lower sleeping area is cute w fun 'cubby' beds for kids... that area is accessed via a spiral stair case; again, not great for newly walking kids. The lower bedroom could use black out shades, as sunrise in the summer is directly into the rooms (5:30am is pretty early for little ones) There's no AirConditioning, but proximity to beach/water provides enough breeze.
Parking descriptions don't match the changes made to the property. Updated gravel and parking is a little different, not a big deal but just details.

The cabin is exactly as advertised. The panoramic views are incredible and the situation tranquil and serene. A direct path across the street leads to a dog-friendly beach and we were able to walk for miles at low tide. The cabin itself is cozy, comfortable, and fairly well-appointed without being luxurious. Simole meals can be prepared in the full kitchen and several dining and take options are available within 10-15 minutes’ drive. For us, it was a perfect place for a much-needed get away and we will look to return.
n.b. While it was not a problem for us, this rental is not appropriate for those with even modest mobility limitations. Located on a cliff above the beach, there are MANY steps up to the front door and deck area. Also, the interior stairs are a spiral that is both narrow and steep.
Access and check out information was provided a couple days prior to departure, which allowed us to prepare appropriately. The host also provided prior notice of a vendor scheduled to come onsite during one of the mornings of our stay and we were able to adjust our plans accordingly.

This home was perfect for my husband and I's quiet weekend in Whidbey. Everything was exactly where you would think to find it in the house, from extra blankets to kitchen supplies. Our small dog enjoyed lounging on the deck and hearing all the sounds of the dog park below.

The of leash dog beach was an incredible place for the whole family to walk & explore. Loved the property as well.

Very nice home overall. Difficult to get to lots of stairs to get to the home not a good place for someone with limited mobility or elderly. Otherwise very nice

This property was truly stunning. The location was perfect for exploring the island, and being on the beach was so great. The views from the deck and house are unbeatable. The beds were very comfortable and the house was well-equipped. Loved having a fire on the front lawn with the sounds of the ocean in the background. I know that some people have mentioned the stairs, but they truly are no big deal. We would absolutely recommend this place to stay to others.

This must be the best location for a getaway on Whidbey Island. Sweet updated cabin with sweeping views and compete privacy over Useless Bay. Super comfy beds and the 50 steps to get to the house are worth it!

We had a good time going on walks along the off leash dog beach at Double Bluff. We enjoyed the porch and gas grill with views of the water and sunset. The only place to sit for eating was at the bar stools and on the porch, there's no indoor dining table. There are a lot of stairs to get up to the house and the only indoor way to access the downstairs is a very steep and narrow spiral staircase. And the bunk bed room downstairs does not have a door - it's open to the stairwell. There is no air conditioning, and when the weather was smoky, we couldn't open the windows to cool down the inside. Glad the house was dog friendly and located just a quick drive from the ferry. Clean and well stocked kitchen and bathrooms.

Private home with amazing views of ocean. A short walk from the door to the water on path. Great deck for sitting/eating. The only thing I didn’t like was a motion light going off multiple times a night and appeared to be a camera facing toward the deck which made us think we are being watched.
This home would be awesome if it had a hot tub on that deck! This is where we spent most of our time!

We spent a long weekend at Double Bluffs Beach House mid August. This is a great house, sits high above the water so the view is great. It’s also very private unlike the other houses down the beach that are packed in together. The deck is nice, a bit more furniture and umbrellas would be nice though. We spent a lot of time on the deck watching the eagles and ospreys during the day and the bats and owls during the night. Lots of bugs so I would suggest bringing a citronella candle. Inside the house was quaint, definitely and old beach house (smelled a bit musty but we opened all the windows once we arrived and it aired out) and it was pretty warm inside even though it was only 75 most time we were there. There was one box fan so bring more fans if you’re susceptible to heat. Nice flat area down below where we set up a badminton set and some other lawn games. We also had a great time around the fire pit at night. Already looking at the calendar for next summer!

Our first trip to Whidbey Island. Freeland Double Bluff Beach Club, a great off leash dog park, sandy beach, and occasional kite surfers. Be sure to have dinner at Gordon’s!

We frequent Double Bluff Beach often with our kids and dogs for day trips but this was the first time we ever stayed overnight. So wonderful! The bay is so beautiful and it’s such a treat being able to walk right up to the beach and explore. The house was well-maintained and we would highly recommend.

We had a great weekend at the Double Bluff Island county house. We had everything we needed; well stocked kitchen and baths, lots of board games, puzzles and books. The decor is very cute and homey. The firepit area outside was the cherry on top for our visiting family from France who experienced smores for the first time. We'll come back and already shared the location with our friends.

Spent a lovely weekend with our daughter and son in law. The place was clean and well appointed. The view was phenomenal! Would definitely come again.

We needed a weekend getaway with our dogs and daughter. We loved the idea of staying by the beach for the views and ease of access with our dogs. The stay was quite comfortable for our family. Beautiful views for sure.

Cabin Decoration was cute and cozy, view was beautiful and access to beach was good. Owners had clearly put a lot of work into making the cabin pleasant. Nice deck to enjoy if weather is cooperative. Kitchen and bedrooms had what was needed for a comfortable stay. Owner communicated promptly. Easy to find and Good Parking
Was comfortable for 3 adults, but would have seemed cramped with more people (planned for 5 but were glad extras did not come.) Off leash beach was great for dogs, but house was situated up several steep flights of stairs (with NO flat yard near entrance) so it was a hike through howling winds, rain and dark to take dogs out to eliminate. Listing said dogs were welcome, but guest info binder stated that dogs should stay mainly outside (this would not be an option for us.) This property would NOT be good for older people or young children. MANY steep stairs required to enter the building, dangerous spiral staircase to downstairs and house is situated on cliff with a couple of "drop offs."
After we arrived, many bugs started to appear inside...small flies, big flies and mosquitoes...maybe heat had been off and they went dormant until heat came on?

The owner was very responsive to any issues. The location and view are unbeatable.

Great location and vieoows in double bluff. The listing description was not as accurate or how the pictures make it out to be online. Owner was super communicative with some issues we had during our stay. Overall, it was decent but I am not sure I would stay here again.

Great spot right on the beach

You can't be the location of this property and that is 100% why you will book it. Very clean, great bathrooms, spectacular deck with unobstructed Rainier and beach views. there is a steep spiral staircase that separates the two floors, but its very easy to use the outside stairs to avoid the spiral (keep in mind with small children). Also, there is an additional Airstream rental (for 2 adults) on the property now. We found it unobtrusive. Overall a great rental in the perfect location

This is a wonderful house to stay as it's super close to the beach. All must-have trip to the beach lovers.

I hate to give a bad review, but too many things went wrong. Upon arrival, there were rat feces in the bathroom, kitchen and on the towels we were supposed to use. We could not wash the towels or the dishes as there was no laundry detergent and only two tabs of dish detergent made available. We got a hold of the owner and he gave us the code to the supplies cabinet for cleaning items and worked with us on the rats. Then our bedroom window leaked, there is a huge gaping concrete hole in the porch area that is extremely dangerous (also a step up that should be painted a different color as everybody seemed to trip on it). The binder of info that is left asks you to keep your dog outside or in a dog bed that is referred to but not provided. Nowhere in the original listing does it mention keeping your dog outside. Also, you can't possibly lock your dog on the patio while you're inside the home as the patio is not enclosed fully. The owner also upsold us on his family's spa rental business, which we were looking forward to, but the spa never went about 88 degrees (tepid bath water). The four beds for children are useless when there is not a single area to store items. No dresser, closet, pull out drawers from under bed -nothing. My children had to pour their clothes on the floor or live out of their suitcase for the week. The bathroom don't have curtains on the window, which is awkward when utilizing the facilities. It was not a home I would recommend, but on a much more positive note, the area surrounding the home, Useless Bay, is just wonderful. It's a great area to walk, kayak, clam, etc. I would definitely recommend the area itself.

Such a beautiful property with an amazing view- we had such a wonderful weekend and hope to return again someday to this awesome place!

Clean cozy cabin right next to the beach. The road you cross to get to the beach is a private road that we never saw another car on other than our own. One thing to be aware of is 54 stairs to the main entrance. If you are older or injured it could really be a factor. Great place with a great deck.

We were originally drawn to this property for the views and wow! They did not disappoint! Just as pictured and better. It was wonderful to sit on the deck while our kids played in the yard and read a book with those views. Also the fire pit at night was a huge hit. But what made us the happiest was the off leash dog park on the beach right in front of the property. Our dogs had actually never been off leash before but they quickly learned not to wander off. And they were just so happy!! It was like a vacation just for our pups. The pros:The off leash dog park and those gorgeous views!!!The cons:The upstairs bedroom - the box spring was so so noisy! It squeaked with every tiny move and made falling asleep so hard. And no curtains or blinds! We were blinded each morning by the sun rising...normally you'd think that was a good thing but it was literally blinding off the water. Even a light shade would help so much!Mice - eek!!! We never saw any but they left their droppings on the stovetop and counter top at night. Opened a cabinet to get a pot out and it had several droppings in it. We washed every item before using it just to be careful. And we left no food out at all! But still they must have been exploring at night.
