This is an adorable and well maintained apartment below a family home. You will hear the family and pets occasionally, but it did not bother me at all. The apartment was well furnished and the kitchen has everything you need. I stayed here for 5 weeks between homes. Because I work from "home" the main thing I missed was having a desk, but this would not be an issue for most renters. The hosts were friendly and responsive when I had an issue with applicances. They have a beautiful, wooded backyard with chickens, and I even saw deer in the yard on one occasion. Lovely neighboorhood in Bull Mountain with easy access to Tigard and South Beaverton. Highly recommend this rental for adults, couples and small families. Would not recommend for young children as there are a lot of stairs, both from parking to front door, as well as front door to main level. I would 10/10 stay here again.

A Home Away from Home
We recently spent a few days in Portland to meet our new grand daughter and celebrate Thanksgiving with our son and daughter-in-law and their new baby. Brian and Becky's home was very convenient and it was the perfect setup for my wife and myself and our daughter, son-in-law and grand daughter who came in from Phoenix. There was a bottle of Oregon wine and freshly ground coffee waiting when we arrived. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the best tools, the bath towels were thick and the fireplace was great on chilly evenings. Plus our grand daughter loved the chickens like the other folks have commented. It was perfect.

Beautiful facility, conveniently located, beware the Elephants
The owners did a fantastic job of decorating the apartment/mother in law suite. I even got some ideas for my own place back home. It was stocked with SUPER basic items such as the basic cleaning products, salt and pepper. It would have been nice to have some further basic items such as paper towels and a blow dryer. However, when asked, the owners were very accommodating and brought down a dryer and some tasty homemade treats.
I will warn future renters however, that the owners have young children who spent a good portion of the time we were there running around upstairs. Thankfully it stopped at bed time but resumed early in the morning and proceeded throughout much of the afternoon. While this is completely understandable, having children myself, it was inconsiderate of how loud it was in the apartment. Additionally, there should also be a note about having the second bedroom up a steep flight of stairs and near the front door. This would be incredibly unsafe for young children especially for late night bathroom runs, no matter any age.
Other than those two items, we were very pleased with the facility and would recommend it with the understanding of the noise and the location of the second bedroom.

A Gem!
What a gem of an apartment to find on VRBO. We had never used VRBO before but after a failed family getaway in a hotel with very little space, we were determined to have a better experience. We found this property and decided to take the plunge. What a delight. It is decorated beautifuly and located very close to the city. It was just the right space for ourselves and 2 young children. I was worried that since it was attached to a main house that privacy would be a problem but it really is not. The owners do a great of making it feel very secluded and private. And wouldn't you know it, my infant son gets a horrible ear infection on the day of our arrival. He was in such pain that having a nice place to call "home" was necessary for him. Highly suggest this wonderful place.

Very nice, and great location!
We had a great stay, (three nights) and everything was perfect for us. The unit was designed and finished very nice. Everything seemed new, including the great kitchen. Thanks again Brad and Becky, we plan on staying again next year.

Great place to stay!
We (two adults + one infant) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this place. It was so wonderful we stayed one extra day. Owners were friendly and great! They let us have fresh eggs and home grown vegetables :)
No complaints whatsoever! Go for it!

What a delightful surprise!! I descended the stairs to my own personal PARADISE! WOW!! That's all I could say over and over as I looked around. I was expecting make-do and got holy Cow WOW instead. I felt like I was on a home design show. So fabulous! Such delectable design taste! Everything completely put together. I relished in it and felt like a king. Can't wait to come back!!
I'm an interior designer with pretty high standards. I had heard this place would be uncommonly nice. In all my travels over 20+ years I've never experienced anything quite like this. I'm embarrassed now to have thought it could be unpleasant. A tasteful place to stay in a home in the suburbs of Portland? YES!! Right here. Visiting family? wine country? Picking berries? apples? pumpkins? Christmas trees? This is the perfect place to check in without the awkward stay with relatives. I have traveled the world staying in accommodations ranging from 5 star resorts to hostels and friends' homes. This stay is like a 5-star friend's home - the best of both!
