The home and views of the mountains are magnificent. Great space in the back to sit and gaze. The home is well appointed, bed and bedding so comfortable and Dino was a gracious and helpful host. Hope to return.

My husband and I stayed for two weeks and enjoyed every moment of our trip. The mid-century modern home, designed by the father of our host, was beautiful, well-furnished and clearly sighted to take advantage of the mountain views from both in and outside of the house. We watched the mountains and sky change colors every night.
Dino was an extraordinary host. Prior to arriving we had several text and telephone exchanges that were very helpful. On arrival we met Dino for only a few minutes as he had just received news of a family emergency. He left shortly after we met him and was gone during our entire stay. Despite travel, time differences and the grave nature of his family emergency, he communicated with me regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our trip. I felt I came to know him personally throughout this period and was very impressed by his thoughtfulness and attention. I highly recommend this place. In fact, I have already recommended it to two different friends who often spend time in Tucson!

Yes,we must say…it was one of the best stays we have ever had and it’s the 4th time that we have come to Tucson.
The house is designed as an architecture magazine.
Dino was a perfect host, always available if needed.
If we come back next winter, this house will be our 1st choice.

This home is in just a wonderful location in Tucson. The house has unique furnishings, a very well stocked kitchen, and a wonderful patio with a fantastic view. Dino was a lovely host-kept us informed, answered any questions we had and let us have our fun. We intend to return soon!

Perfect location for many activities. Some quirks in the house but beautiful mountain vistas and well appointed inside and out.
Host Dino was available if needed and a pleasure to meet. Easy laidback atmosphere with great location and views and space.

Scenery is so lovely even with the snow we experienced. You do have to see it all for yourself. I went for a short walk often and saw and heard some different birds that don't live in Minnesota. Horseback riding is just across the road and that looked like a good introduction to desert life. There are great grocery stores and a Beyond Bread restaurant within a couple "blocks". We aren't familiar with Mexican food but the Seis Kitchen was great. The bike loop is accessible about 5 miles away. All in all it is a wonderful place to spend time especially for us "super seniors"

MId-Century Masterpiece
I have to say it was one of the best stays i have ever had. First of all, Dino, the host is a great, friendly and accomodating. the house is designed right out of an architecture magazine. The interiors are spectacular -- as well as the views of the mountains. The price should have been double!

Perfect!
My husband and I completely enjoyed our stay at this very special home. It was part architectural tour given the mid-century design and the thoughtfulness of the design - and full vacation/relaxation space given the wonderful views, patio, pool and large rooms. I have never stayed at a rental that was better supplied, and was even able to have family over for a dinner given the amenities of the kitchen/dining space! In addition, the home is well located to shopping and restaurants. The owner, Dino, was very available if needed, but also completely unobtrusive. We will definitely be back!! As Hans B said in a prior review "Do it!"

Mid century treat with a view and a pool
We stayed for 2+ weeks in Sept 2021 and really enjoyed our stay. Like a home away from home; felt like a home and not a "guest house." Comfy king bed with good linens and a tv in master. Good sized bathroom with 2 sinks. Step down shower (i.e. not ADA if you need it); otherwise everything is on one level with no steps. Huge closet with more than enough space for all our clothes and suitcases. In fact, lots of storage everywhere, except for limited pantry space. Everything else in the kitchen was fabulous – all the appliances and dishes you would have in your own home – including a high end blender, Keurig and salad spinner – and so much more! Super cool that the owner keeps martini and beer glasses in the freezer for you. Great dining room with a view – perfect for entertaining. There’s a 2nd bedroom with queen bed that also has a great office space (which we well used for work from home – wifi plenty fast with two of us working on it). Living room tv is large with basic Xfinity cable. Full size washer/dryer you share with owner. The pool is just for the guests and we used it every day! As well as the two pool floaties provided; though you do need to be the pool maintenance crew while you're there. Large covered patio with comfy furniture and a grill. It’s just plain fun to be surrounded by the mid-century architecture, design and finishes. And lots of related books (and fiction books) for your reading pleasure. Loved waking up to and watching the beautiful view out the master and back windows. A couple of maintenance items that came up were addressed quickly by the owner, who lives on the other side of the house (but you don't even know he's there). Temps in the living/dining areas can get a bit warm on summer 110 degree days because of the mid-century AC supply, but there were well-placed fans that still allowed us to be comfortable. Note there is no garage or covered parking, though you can be strategic with tree shade. Several easy hikes within walking distance. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful
The Westward Look Guest House is not your typical vacation rental. It has the look and feel of a real home. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need; the living areas are very comfortable, and the outdoor living space, including the pool, is wonderful. Dino, the host, was gracious and helpful while also being unobtrusive Definitely recommend a stay at The Westward Look Guest House.

A lovely place to call home in Tucson!
We just spent 3+ weeks relaxing weeks in Casas Adobes. The home is lovely - comfortable, well equipped, interesting, and nicely located. The kitchen is huge - lots of room to cook and hang out in. The views of the Catalina Mountains were a constant pleasure. Warm sunsets off to the west, an afternoon delight. Dino, the owner/host, is delightful. He is helpful, kind, fun and unobstrusive. He had great suggestions for restaurants and hikes. I highly recommend a visit to Casas Adobes!

Fantastic Character & Convenient Location
This is a fantastic property that does not disappoint in its character or location. Often the photos are better than the reality but this lives up! The kitchen is well stocked, the pool refreshing with fantastic views, and the home is just overall very comfortable.

Spectacular!
The house is absolutely beautiful, designed by modernist architect Nicholas Sakellar, built for his family and now owned by his son Dino, also an architect. Well appointed kitchen, very comfortable living room and bedrooms and a laundry room. Floor to ceiling glass offers perfect views of the Catalina Mountains right up Pima Canyon. The patio and back yard are very pleasant, but the weather was a bit chilly while we were there. It snowed on the mountains! Location is great; a couple of blocks to Casas Adobes groceries, restaurants and shops. Dino was very accommodating, even though we arrived during the holiday time. Note that there is a hefty security deposit required, which is reasonable considering the quality of art and furnishings. It ensures that guests will take care of the place. Dino was very prompt in refunding our deposit, but it took VRBO several days to process it. Again, not a problem; just be aware. We look forward to staying here again when we visit Tucson in the future.

Modern Masterpiece
We have often seen this house when staying at Westward Look Resort and were thrilled to find out it was being offered through VRBO. We are an architect and interior designer, so we really appreciated the beautiful mid-century design, by Nicholas Sakellar. The view of the Catalina mountains was spectacular. The house is not far from UA and close to restaurants and Whole Foods. The occupant in the other half of the house was quiet and we didn't even know they were there.

Amazing host, amazing house!
A gorgeous property with stunning views of the mountains. The house is a wealth of interesting detail for someone like me who is interested in architecture. It is very spacious with comfortable furniture, lots of books, and a large and workable kitchen. One cannot describe what it's like to sit with your morning coffee or tea and gaze on the mountains. Not only is the host very personable and charming, he is a lot of fun but never intrusive, even though he lives on the property. We have traveled a lot, and this host and this house are the best we've ever encountered.

Great spacious home, beautiful view and wonderful location
We have rented many VRBO's and this is by far at the very top of our list. We stayed here during graduation and it was nice to be out of the busy downtown (due to graduation) and find respite in this home, so we loved the location.
The kitchen is large and extremely well stocked. The home is very comfortable and spacious. The owner was extremely responsive to any issues or concerns. We immediately felt at home due to the owner's welcome, the beautiful setting and comfort in every room.
Windows abound to bring in the light and allow for beautiful views of the mountains. The patio was a favorite hang out space in the late afternoon and evening to watch the colors on the mountains change hour to hour. We used the pool daily as it was warm enough at this time of year and a great size for all to enjoy.
Thank you Dino for making our week of celebration even more fabulous by the use of your incredible home! We would give a rating of 7 stars if it were an option.!

Wonderful property with amazing views of the Catalina Mountains.
The Westward Look property is conveniently located in Tucson with great proximity to shopping, dining, hiking and exploring. The views are tremendous of the Catalina Mountains and the property features an expansive yard with a large, beautiful pool. The residence is rich with mid century architectural design both inside and out, featuring great art pieces and a rich family heritage. The interior is very comfortable and the owner is very responsive and a wealth of knowledge of places to experience. Wonderful time!

The Sakellar Guest House is beaufiful and spacious fully equipped with all amenities we needed.
We found The Guest House to be a unique spacious and comfortable accommodation with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the patio and beautiful grounds beyond. We were on a golf getaway for 10 days and much enjoyed returning to Sakellar each day to enjoy cocktails and snacks on the patio afterwards. Dino made us feel right at home with a welcome note and bottle of wine on our arrival. We also had occasion to enjoy drinks and dinner out with Dino twice during our stay. He is a wealth of information on the Tucson region, and most helpful on places to visit, eat etc. The Guest House location is central to many golf courses and convenient to shopping, restaurants, grocery and drug store needs as well.
When we return to Tucson hopefully in the near future the Sakellar Guest House will be our first choice to stay.

Spectacular and cozy midcentury modern oasis
Our family stayed at Dino's guest house for an extended period through the fall. I cannot understate how lovely this house is, both in terms of its design and comfort. This is a special place; it was a joy to wake up here every morning and to watch the sun setting every evening. Dino is a kind, thoughtful person and a wonderful host. He has lots of knowledge of the surrounding area, as this has been his family's home since childhood. This is truly a perfect place to experience the beauty of Tucson.

Beautiful home and mountain views!!
My family and I were lucky enough to rent this beautiful property for one whole month. My favorite part about this home would definitely be the views from the backyard but I think my children would say their favorite part was having your own private pool. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone who is looking for a private relaxing vacation in a prime location. My family and I are looking forward to renting this home again in the near future.

The Best Tucson Has to Offer
Before finding the Westward Look Guest House, we had looked at several houses. What a relief it was to park our car in front of the Guest House doorway knowing that our search was over. We'd found the perfect location, close to everything, but privately tucked away from the strip malls that dominate Tucson.
Our circumstances were unusual. My sister-in-law had been a patient at the Tucson Community Hospital and needed a comfortable place to recuperate for a month. "Westward Look" couldn't have been more suitable for her needs: comfortable furnishings, no stairs, attractively decorated, impressive art collection, an extensive book library, an all-channel wide-screen television in front of a long leather couch to stretch out on, and a fully-equipped kitchen so we didn't have to go out, though there were excellent restaurants nearby. The two separated bedrooms gave each couple privacy. Our host was readily available when needed, knowledgable about the history of Tucson or where to get a haircut or a bite to eat. Otherwise we never saw him though he lived on the other side of the house.
But what made our stay memorable was when we stepped through sliding doors onto the spacious, landscaped grounds and viewed the heart-skipping Catalina Mountain view, which was beyond all expectations. Many a day was spent dipping into the immense swimming pool, and many a twilight was spent relaxing on lounges and gazing up at the spectacular, panoramic view. I would go back to Westward Look Guest House in a heartbeat.
