About this house rental
Nestled back in a private small gated community the Coconut Cabana is everything you could ever want for a perfect Hawaiian Getaway. Direct ocean front with incredible snorkeling or surfing right out your door. This 2 story home is a spacious "Old Hawaii" style country retreat with stunning ocean views from the yard or your private roof top lanai. These waters are favored by swimmers, divers, and snorkelers particularly in the summer months when the ocean is usually calm. Families with small children can feel at ease with the reef-protected sandy beach when big surf makes other North Shore beaches hazardous for swimming during the Winter months. Bonus to surfers as home offers front row seats to famous Silva channels the best surf break in Waialua.
No traffic noise here, instead you will sleep soundly to the incredible sound of lulling waves. The Coconut Cabana housekeeper takes great pride in her work, you will find the home well stocked and spotless.
The convenience of this area is also a big attraction, since the highways to Honolulu/Waikiki area and the airport can be accessed without driving through the North Shore's most heavily trafficked spots. Countless things to do just close by: Shopping & Dinning in historic Haleiwa town, horseback riding on the beach, hiking, Paddle boarding, Kayaking, Ka'ena Point, Dillingham airfield, skydiving, paragliding, polo fields, all just a few miles away.

Stunning beachfront property with amazing ocean views, private beach access, and comfortable accommodations. Perfect for a relaxing Hawaiian vacation.

Location - Location - Location.
Unfortunately the kitchen is at ground level while the rest of the condo is upstairs. The garden is really nice - in daylight - but misses light, so the bbq is easier to use.
The wifi was mostly ok, but disappeared a couple of times

We had everything we needed right out front - swimming, snorkeling, and beach walking. The upstairs part of the home was roomy and comfortable. The upstairs outside porch was a nice place to relax. The sliding windows from kitchen to lawn was fun and convenient. We enjoyed our stay.

It was great! The view is outstanding kitchen is fun, but one thing would be great is if there was some form of outdoor bathroom so you don’t have to run upstairs every time you need to use the restroom. Otherwise everything is perfect.

We loved watching the sunrise, surfers and sea turtles from the balcony. There were amazing views of the mountains behind us. It was wonderful to step out the back and be on the beach. We loved the quiet neighborhood and enjoyed visiting Haleiwa for breakfast and dinner. Our only complaint was the “taco” mattress in the master bedroom. We would have preferred a more comfortable bed, but we loved listening to the sound of the waves at night. If you’re looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then this place is for you.

Easy to access close to town but is quiet and quaint area

We have had this duplex booked for about a year now and have looked forward to it every single day. It did not disappoint. You can literally walk 30 ft out the door. Stick your face in the water and see Sea Life. It is spectacularly beautiful. The house is super comfortable and has everything you could possibly need for a special Hawaiian vacation.

Stayed with my mom and aunt. We loved the place and the views and proximity to the beach and ocean. More than enough room for the three of us. I didn’t pick up on it in the pictures but the kitchen is on the first floor with the living spaces on the second. That was not an issue for us but might be for someone else

Overall this was a great stay. The house was nice and if your focused on the north shore it is a great location. The only challenge we had was that the house has only one bathroom…

This is an older property located about 10-15 minutes away from town. The sound of the waves was soothing at night. Couches bedding and towels are a bit dated.

What a view. Easy access to everywhere on the Northshore. Older home but perfect for a beach retreat. Only suggestion would be better ventilation / screens on the window for the lone bathroom.

An absolutely delightful stay. The spot on the ocean is perfect we had such a great time swimming and snorkeling. None of us wanted to leave.

Second time we have come to the Coconut Cabana and we just love this little paradise. Quiet neighborhood hood, feels like you have a private beach, no crowds, close enough to everything on the North Shore. The only noise you will have to contend with is the noise from the ocean. We love, love , love this slice of heaven.

Wonderful ocean views, a/c in rooms worked great, nice lounge area upstairs, kitchen bar with ocean views, lots of snorkel equipment provided. There is not a bathroom on the lower level but that wasn’t a big deal for us. We enjoyed the location and went into town every day to play. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

We had a great stay. Snorkeling out front was really fun and there were two sea turtles that were in the area each day. Backyard is a great place to relax and enjoy your time.

Coconut Cabana has a wonderful location and great layout. A nice space to share and enjoy with the Ohana. There is some cosmetic details that need to be corrected due to the aging of the property. One of our room's AC units broke down but the property manager was fast enough to bring a replacement on site. We had to help for an speedy installation. Whatever it takes to get you through the night with AC, right.
Overall a great experience!

Excellent home base for exploring the north shore. We loved the sound of the surf. Beach wasn’t great for walking (soft deep sand). We loved snorkeling the tide pool at shark’s cove.

My Family stayed here for 11 wonderful days. The place was clean and communication with Melissa always had a quick turn around. The property location is incredible -- the beach in your backyard, an elevated outdoor common area was a great place to catch the sunrise. The place is full of fragrant flowers and the sounds of birds singing and waves crashing. It is 1970s Hawiian design which my husband and I enjoyed. We are grateful to have found such a wonderful gem! Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise with us!

This is a perfect location for a getaway with a great beach and not very many people. Beach was empty mostly. Waves were good. House is good with beach chairs, boogie boards and other games. Hammocks are great, too. Kitchen has everything you would need.

If you’re looking for a north shore beach front property that’s relatively inexpensive this place is awesome! We had the whole big beach mostly to ourselves! Not the best snorkel spot at least when we went but decent and we still saw some fish and turtles everyday! Only 12 min into town and feels so private out here (I’m sure it depends on how much your neighbors use the beach but hardly anyone else was out when we were!). The house itself isn’t anything super special the kitchen has a weird vibe and layout that you can’t really tell from the pictures, the rooms are small and the living room is in the back of the house with no view but we just hung out in the back yard on the deck or the beach! It wasn’t bad sharing a yard with the connected house! It’s big enough to split!

If you want true Hawaii vibes don't stay in Honolulu, stay here. Having snorkel-able Pacific waters and your "own" beach 100 feet away from your bed is choice. Enjoy both sunrises and sunsets from "your" beach unbothered by any level of crowd. The few neighbor families we did meet were great folks and added value to the trip, especially 'Gina and her dogs Riley and Sabrina. The small historic town of Haleiwa about 3 miles away is fantastic. Rent a convertible for your stay and you'll be rewarded with unobstructed views of truly amazing mountain landscapes, flowers, etc. This place is a home run. One local piece of advice; summer North Shore traffic can be real as the Honolulu day trippers arrive in numbers starting around 11:00AM, especially near Laniakea/Turtle Beach! Plan your North Shore activities accordingly and then enjoy your patio or 2nd floor lanai for sunsets. Perfect for families.

The view from this property is absolutely incredible! You are right on the beach and the hammock set up lends itself to seeing the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets! Communication with the hosts was perfect and very easy. The home is in a gated community and felt very safe. There is parking for one car and the laundry room was nice to have, but had to shared with neighboring property. Our family was there in July and it was hot! The window air conditioners did their best but took a while to cool down the bedrooms. The beds are as described, but I found them to be short. Overall this is the North Shore of Oahu and one of the most beautiful views you could have. It is close to several local stores for shopping and dining options.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at this house. It was nice to be able to walk out and be on the beach.

I knew the area and wanted to stay on the quite side of the North Shore with beach front property just steps from our door, and this two story house checked all of those boxes!! The place was well equipped and very clean, I made a call to the property manager about a minor detail and it was resolved within a day thank you for that. We do travel to HI every two years or so and would definitely stay at the Coconut Cabana again it made this trip very special giving family members plenty of space to relax and reflect on what this beautiful place has to offer, from sunrise to sunset!!
Thank You for sharing your home with us and I’m grateful we were finally able to travel again!!
PS the snorkeling right in front of the house was amazing

The location is amazing. It’s like having your own private beach right in your backyard. We really loved that part. The house; however, was not to our liking. The carpet is dirty and stained, the bedding has stains, and couch is old and filthy. I felt grossed out sleeping there and we checked out a night early.

Very easy to find this property with VRBO and online process to rent was super easy.

Great property! Had everything we needed. Great sunrises & sunsets.

We live in honolulu and wanted a break from the everyday city life and this property was exactly what we were looking for .The online process was easy and melissa responded in a timely matter . The location was awesome the proximity to the beach was as described the property was clean and spacious. If have older family styaing be advised the inside stairs our without hand rails and beach access is also a little harder for older family members .I would suggest bringing only one vehicle as the property has parking for one vehicle and additional parking is outside the gate not monitored so I did have my catalytic converter stolen but other than that the property was great And the experience met every thing we were looking for thank you Melissa

Host was accommodating and quick to respond. Property was well taken care of, had everything we needed and even though it was a shared property, there was little contact with neighbors. Great private location on private road. It was far enough from main beach access that it was basically a private beach.

My husband and loved the location of the property. I felt like I lived Hawaii. Overall the property was great. Quiet, the best view ever, and waking up to an ocean breeze, we would definitely recommend it! The exception was that carpet could use a cleaning and the wicker furniture has seen better days. Other than that we will be back! Mahalo

We absolutely loved our few days spent at the coconut cabana. It was comfortable and beautifully furnished. Perfect for our family of 5. Would have loved to stay longer as it was very windy when we were there and this made snorkelling and swimming out the front of the property impossible but that’s life!
Would certainly recommend this property.

This is a great property. Perfect for family and kids. It is right in the beach with a nice grass back yard. The ocean is perfect for kids to play in and if you are lucky, you can swim with the sea turtles.
The house is nicely furnished with air conditioning in each bedroom just incase. The beds are very comfortable with nice pillows too. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.

What a beautiful view! Absolutely loved being right on the beach- which was AMAZING!! The place was clean and came with lots of conveniences- boogie boards, snorkel equipment, beach chairs, etc...
At night, the sound of the ocean and breezes made it so enjoyable for sleeping.
Loved it and wished we had more time there. Great for privacy, quiet, and R&R!

What an amazing stay my family & I had at your home. I loved waking up to the ocean every morning we for sure made plenty of memories in Hawaii including becoming engaged in your backyard during the sunset. Thank you again for opening your home to us!

The hosts were great. Nice and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Literally beachfront, almost like your own private beach. Not too far from North Shore amenities. Highly recommend!
