Located on the North Shore of Oahu, in the charming community of Mokuleia, 10 minutes west from Historic Haleiwa town, this is a one of a kind Hawaiian experience. Directly above where they filmed episodes of the hit TV show "LOST," this home is very secluded & has amazing views.
Perched on 60 private acres and surrounded by thousands of acres of State and private ranch lands with no neighbors for miles. One-of-a-kind ocean views from Kaena Point to Sunset Beach. The house is located in the middle of the ranch that goes from mountain top to the ocean, called an au'pua'a, about 1000 yards directly above one of Hawaii's best kept secret beaches, with miles and miles of sandy coastline.
The ranch has a variety of excellent restaurants nearby and is great for all water sports including snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing and kayaking. There is also glider flying, sky diving and private plane tours at the near by Dillingham Air field.
Other favorite activities include; private horseback rides on the ranch at the ranch stables located 400 yards from the house, beach rides from the beach stables, walks on the beach, fishing, skydiving, tennis, biking or hiking around the Western “Kaena Point” end of the North Shore.
The house has a private ocean view pool with a large grass yard.
Notable visitors to the surrounding ranch property included Noel Coward, who authored “A Room with a View” while sitting on the lanai of the lodge, Prince Hussein of Jordan, the Marquis of Waterford, Eva Gabor & Ginger Baker.
Additionally, Prince Charles, Major Ronald Ferguson, General George S. Patton and various international stars, among others, have competed on the polo field below. The polo grounds are considered the birthplace of Hawaiian polo, which was especially popular in the late 1800's.

We've just gotten back from our stay at the Lost Ranch and we loved every minute of it. The house was larger than we expected and the grounds were fantastic for our three boys to explore.
There are fruit trees, peacocks, horses and more surrounding the property, it was really just perfect for us.
It has a well appointed kitchen, extra beach towels, washing soap, just about everything you need.
There's walking tracks nearby and great beaches to explore. We already want to book our next stay.

This house has everything you will need, from beach umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, games, tennis and pickle ball equipment! We enjoyed fresh limes , a few lemons and discovered an avocado tree out last day!
Our friends and family enjoyed every minute! We highly recommend this host and property!

Love the location & property, house is run down
We just stayed here for 8 days with our family (my spouse & 2 young kids), my father in law, and sister in law and her spouse and 2 teenagers. Overall we had a great experience but there were definitely some things that could have been better.
Pros:
- The property & view are awesome! It is definitely rustic and remote but that is what we loved.
- All the wildlife was super cool (pigs, peacocks, geckos)
- Pool was clean and a great alternative when we didn't want to drive to the beach
- The sports court was fun (though it needs to be re-paved) and there were lots of beach toys for the kids
- Loved the fresh fruit on the trees on the property
- House size and layout was perfect for our family (9 people total)
Cons:
- The house could have been cleaner. It just seemed like no one was up there for a long time. The window sills were dirty, the tile grout in the bathrooms were discolored, etc. Nothing major, just the little things.
- Lots of bugs inside the house! When we arrived there was a ton of ants all over the kitchen. We found ant spray but since we had little kids didn't want to spray poison all over. Wish there were traps available. We also had a bunch of cockroaches - some pretty big.
- Amenities in the house were not well stocked. We ran out of paper towels and dishwasher detergent and were told we had to buy more if we needed it. Most properties I have rented have these things well stocked when you arrive. There also were no back-up sheets for the beds. When traveling with a toddler, this was concerning.
- The pack n play was in bad condition. The "mattress" didn't lay flat and had a big seam in it. I'm sure it was uncomfortable for my baby. I wish they had a mattress insert. Also, the sheet that was available wasn't the right size so didn't fit tightly to the mattress.
- The house gets HOT during the day. Like others have said, it does cool down (somewhat) at night, but our kids had to nap during the day and it was easily 80 degrees inside. Wish there was AC or at least window coverings to block the sun and keep the heat out. Especially since the host asks you to close all the windows when you leave the house. We were gone most of the day so when we returned, the house was uncomfortable.
Overall we had a good stay and really did love the property and location; we just felt it could be better managed.

We enjoyed our stay with two families traveling together. Lots of room for privacy and relaxing. Spacious living area and well equipped for our needs. The ocean air cools it nicely at night but the days were pretty hot. The room with twin beds doesn’t cool down as much as the rest of the house. We spent days touring or outside so it didn’t bother us much. The drive up from the road is pretty rough so you don’t want a low riding vehicle. We enjoyed the solitude of the property as an escape from our tourist activities. We did do a lot of driving around the island with a mix of activities so it was always nice to come back to quiet relaxation.

Great views and space for family vacation
Plenty of space for our 6 adults and 3 small children to enjoy a week a the beach. The house is well appointed and comfortable. The round trip leisure walk to the beach and back is about an hour and location between the bustle of Honolulu and Big Wave area of North Shore is perfect. The home feels very remote but is less than an hour from the airport. The layout worked well for 2 adult couples and a family of 5 with 3 kids under 5. The pool was secured and clean and the wild life and surrounding jungle did not disappoint. Be prepared you are living among nature....there are bugs, no AC means windows open and fans on. We prefer that but knowing is important. The drive up to the house for the gate was a little daunting at first but after a day was old news. Communication and preparation by the host was great. We had someone come in and cook most of our meals for the trip and that worked well given we wanted most of our time on the beach or lounging on the property. The town close by closes up early so late night drinks and dinner are reserved for the Honolulu area. Overall the home was perfect for us and we found the rate for the home represented a great value for us.

Quiet and Secluded
This house is truly a hidden gem! Beautiful house with a great view of the ocean in the distance, halfway up the mountain on a ranch. Wonderful fruit trees all over the property, and early morning visits from peacocks and wild pigs! The common areas are huge, the kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are very nice. There is a full size laundry room with folding area.
No ac, but large ceiling fans and lots of windows create great ventilation! It easily accommodated our party of eight.
We recommend arriving before dark, as the ranch road is a dirt track and navi may not get you there correctly. Rent a jeep or good SUV, as you might need AWD or 4WD! The beaches on the north shore are beautiful with wild surf, and in easy driving distance.
There is a well stocked grocery in Haleiwa, as well as good restaurants and food trucks.

Delightful family visit to Lost Ranch!!
I visited the amazing Lost Ranch with my niece(43) and son(27). My daughter, who lives in Wahiawa, joined us often with her 2 yr old, and my son's friend joined for last couple days. The place was fantastic -- extremely roomy and clean. A home. Beautiful pool and yard. The 2 year old ran around like a little maniac, loving every minute. We enjoyed the roaming pigs and peacocks, and walked down to see the horses many times. We cooked all our meals there and appreciated the well stocked kitchen. The local beaches were so wonderful -- often we were the only ones there. Great waves and lovely sand. Our contact, Lise, was extremely attentive, helping us and making us feel very welcome. THANK YOU!
Such a remote oasis! Once in a lifetime, marvelous experience.
But yes, it is Hawaii, and there are bugs. We learned how not to attract them and did well. Kept any open food in refrigerator or the microwave. The teeny ants (called Hawaii bugs...?) went after anything -- even things like cough drops.
And the cyclone/hurricane, category 4 storm hit during our visit. About 20 inches of rain, 2 power outages, road washed out, and dangerous surf.. No worries, it was all a phenomenal experience that we all enjoyed, and would do again!

Secluded and private
This property is truly remote and typically Hawaiian. Everything is there that you need. The access road is the most challenging part of this property but you learn to live with it because once you get there it’s entirely worth it!

The lost ranch was the perfect stay for my friends and myself. The remoteness of the property really allowed us to enjoy the night sky. Excellent property

Perfection!
First time staying on Oahu. This house is absolutely stunning! It was perfect for our group. There were lots of boogie boards, snorkeling equipment and coolers for us to use on our outings. The grounds where the house is located is like you are in your own private oasis. Was awesome to wake up to the sounds of peacocks, and to see the baby wild boars running around. Lush garden feel complete with fresh fruits to pick. Beautiful experience all around .

Beautiful home with stunning views
We were blown away by the beauty of the Lost Ranch property. Every day we saw amazing wild animals like pigs and peacocks. The home was very spacious and stocked with anything you could possibly need for a Hawaiian stay. We will be staying here again and again.

Paradise lost!
You CAN really get lost here. In the best way. We didn’t want to leave! After reading the reviews, we are so happy we were able to stay in this wonderful home. The pictures don’t even show the whole home and it is updated and clean! Beautiful flooring that makes you go “ahhh” when you first walk in. Spacious and set up for both being with family and having your own privacy when needed. Stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook. A grill which we used to make kabobs and chicken yum! Washer dryer very convenient ! Many snorkel masks, flippers in different sizes. A tennis court ( my kids played tennis)! A pool for daily dipping-well kept, clean. Pool lounge chairs fantastic for reading or read in one of many decks while feeling the ocean breeze. Peacocks roaming the property. Wild pigs running down the road as you go in and out of property. Waking up every morning to a song of birds. Easy access to North Shore and town, food trucks (Giovanni’s!) and shave ice. I loved Kula shave ice. We even had Teddys burgers the last night. Malama food market is close and has everything you need. Stargazing at night because you are away from the city lights. You will be in heaven. Every way you look or turn is a photo op! I can’t say enough about this place and Lise is very responsive if you need ANYTHING! I’m going through post Hawaii blues now that we are home. I highly recommend the Lost Ranch- you will be amazed!!

Great place!
We loved staying here - lots of open space in the house, the view was amazing, the pool was fantastic, we loved all the greenery and fruit trees and the house was not far from Haleiwa and the beaches. We stayed here with another family and there was more than enough space for all of us. The property manager and owner were both great. We highly recommend the place!

Seclusion
We had a number of adults, teens, and smaller kids in our party with plenty of room. The property is very secluded, like really secluded - but once you find it - you really don’t want to leave. It has everything for an entertaining and peaceful vacation. The views are majestic of the sweeping mountains behind and glorious sunrises dancing from the pacific panorama below to enjoy from the wrap around deck. Some great beaches within a short drive as well as shopping and hiking. This property is rustic, has no AC, and gets warm in the afternoons but usually cools down enough at night to be comfortable, a few wall units would be nice for the hot times but not a huge deal.

Looking to experience Oahu at its best ?
The lost ranch is your place. The property is beautiful and the views and sounds of nature are first class.
The Peacocks are daily visitors. The local wild pigs run through out the property ( don’t worry they are very skittish) not to mention all the other song birds that live around the ranch. A short 10 minute walk down the road and you can visit the horses that are kept at the Dillingham ranch.
We woke up every morning to a beautiful sunrise and the sound of the ocean.
Recommend bringing binoculars so you can view the ocean and hills during the day a the stars at night.
The only other suggestion would be to make sure you rent a Jeep. The road up to the ranch is really rough and needs to be graded but our Jeep has no problem getting us back and forth to the house.
We are hoping to rent the ranch again in 2022 and can’t wait.
Highly recommend

Wonderful
Peaceful, Beautiful, Roomy, with many great beaches and hikes in every direction; if your stay is during polo season there is even polo followed by live music right across the street at the end of the long driveway. If you need to hear your neighbors or have the stars dimmed by street lights, book a condo in town - this is near all sorts of good things but it's country! The house itself is classy and complete; nice beds, nice kitchen, washer and dryer.
Our family of 6 (teenagers to adults) would stay again! Do not rent a corvette for the day as a surprise though as my daughter did - driveway a bit too rugged for low sportscars.

Great O'ahu Ranch Experience
Family of five traveling with three young kids, and they loved it. Plenty of room for everyone. Had lots of fun in the pool. Ranch workers are super friendly. You can see almost every star in the sky at night. Before you book: remember that it's a ranch property with no central AC--if that's what you're expecting, you'll have a great trip.

Lovely away from it all place to have a great time with family and friends
Nice large property to have a relaxing time away from a busy 4th July in Oahu.
It was exceptionally hot and humid when we visited so we had to spend more time in the pool to cool off then we expected.
The rain also brought the bugs out!

Secluded
This home is secluded, nearest neighbor about a quarter mile away. Wild pigs and peacocks make daily rounds through the property. A slice of Hawaiian country at its best. The nearest town is Haleiwa about 15-20 minutes away. The drive from the main road to the house is about a mile, all dirt and at times leaves you wondering if you should have rented a Jeep but our Rav4 did just fine.
We had five adults, three children and one infant a the house which worked out very well. The large combined kitchen/dining/living room area provided ample space for everyone to gather and stare at their cell phones. If you are looking to relax in seclusion, enjoy remote beaches and the small towns of the North Shore I recommend this house. If you are looking to sightsee, especially around Honolulu / Pearl Harbor just know you are an hour away. Although we did do quite a bit of driving I would definitely stay here again.

Good times
We had a great stay. When we were there the games closet was full of stuff, I wish we kept the tennis racquets at home. The kitchen was well equipped too. One bathroom had some plumbing oddness (running toilet and loose fixtures). The pool was in excellent shape. Google has no clue on how to navigate to and from the house but that was true for a lot of places we visited on the island. It would be good to do some research or get good directions before visiting (maybe signs?). A portable AC unit would have been appreciated but each room did have a good fan which helped pull in the outside air. Lots of different fruit trees and a great private place for star gazing.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Ranch!!!
Our stay at the Ranch was amazing!! We stayed for two weeks visiting our son that moved to Oahu last year. The location is perfect if you want to be away from it all! We already have done all the tourist things before and it was nice to be away from all the people on Waikiki! The walk to the road from the house is a good mile and even further to the beach. We recommend driving down the road towards the Dillingham airfield. You can pull right up to the beach 🏖
I’m one that lives in Wi and sleeps with windows and fan on during frigid winter months. I was a bit worried about not having air conditioning but was pleasantly surprised that I was very comfortable. Plenty of windows and fans. The nights actually were cool.
We also recommend Foodland Pūpūkea for groceries. They have more of a selection and are cheaper than the grocery store in Haleiwa. Remember your grocery bags!! State law to charge for bags.
Haleiwa Joes seafood and grill was one of our favorite restaurants. The Beach house is very nice but more expensive. If your hungry for a good burger Teddy’s is the place to go. Food trucks were also good. Our favorite spot was just passed Turtle Bay Resort. Excellent BBQ and nice shopping for better prices.
We golfed at Turtle Bay Resort and had a wonderful day. They have two courses to pick from. We are not the most experienced so we did not golf the Arnold Palmer course, but I think maybe next time?!
I would definitely stay at the Ranch again! Very well stocked with everything you need. Beds were very comfortable. Our only complaint, if you want to call it one, is the driveway up to the Ranch. It was pretty bumpy. Having a SUV did help. This was all apart of the adventure. We loved picking fruit from trees and all the wildlife!
The Ranch felt like home and it was hard to leave such a beautiful place! Until next time! Aloha 🌴🤙

Loved the peace and tranquility of the property.
We stayed on the property for 5 days and would definitely stay there again. The country feel and seclusion were just what we wanted as it takes close to an hour to get to Waikiki or Laie. Be prepared for the 2 gates on the property driveway that you must get in and out of your car to unlock the number locks. At times we struggled with them, especially at night or when having any guests visit. Pay attention to the bed configuration, one queen bed is in the space shared with the kitchen, dining room, TV. I would recommend driving to the beach, from the property the view is amazing, but takes about 10-15 minutes to get there. We totally didn't mind because it is secluded, extremely beautiful, and the children loved having a private beach to catch the small waves.

Remote oasis!
Difficult to find as gps brings you to the bottom of road so you must have written directions on you. Suggest arriving before dark and renting a 4wd as road is in poor condition where you climb the mountain. But once you arrive you don't want to leave! The pool was amazing and cleaned during our stay. The gardens were beautiful and house well maintained. It could use some work on the decks as nails are coming up and are sharp. It could also use beach chairs and pool floats. The BBQ did not work and we had difficulty getting it resolved but the housekeeper brought a charcoal one half way into the trip which we appreciated. The two larger rooms had great beds and there are lots of towels. We used the washer and dryer a lot. Tried to hike to peacock flats from house but it was too overgrown. Tons of noisy wildlife, pigs would wake us up at night but loved the birds and nearby horses. Enjoyed polo on Sunday, botanical gardens in Waimea and numerous beaches. The house sits farther from beach than indicated but worth it for the views and privacy.

Great memories
So glad we picked this property for our family vacation, There were 9 of us (grandparents, parents kids) and there was plenty of room inside and out for all of us. The entry into the property is epic and the experience of staying here is so much different and better than staying in the city. You really feel like you are in a different, special place. The drive to the property isn't bad at all from Honolulu(we are from LA). Craig was easy to work with and responsive. The house itself is spacious and clean and well stocked. Great beach just down from the property and north shore towns are close by. We would definitely stay here again. This property is surrounded by nature so if you are looking for a sterile "hotel" environment this not it, but if understand that this is like living at a nice ranch then you'll love it.

Great choice for us
Great quiet property on North Shore. Perfect for our family of 10 with 2 grandparents, 2 sets of parents and 4 kids. Never felt crowded. Lots of room outside for kids to run and they loved the pool. We loved waking up to the birds every morning and taking walks down the road. You do have to drive a little ways to get to stores/restaurants/beaches with more gentle waves for kids but it was worth it for us to be away from the crowds and have room for the family to stretch out. Only thing I would change would be air conditioning for the few hours in the evening that it was pretty hot but it did cool down overnight and there were fans.

Wedding Stay-cation
My wife and I just stayed at the Lost ranch the week prior to our wedding that was held at Dillingham Ranch. The home and property are amazing and gave us close access to our wedding venue. The remoteness and quiet were amazing while having all the amenities we could ever need. The views during the day are great and even better at night. All of the rooms are comfortable and our family who came from off island to stay with us loved the home and grounds. There is plenty of fruit trees and nature to take in while at the Lost Ranch that you won't want to leave. Craig was also a pleasure to work with and always responsive to inquiries. This is an amazing home to enjoy the North Shore for a long weekend or full vacation. You'll need a vehicle with plenty of clearance since part of the road back to the ranch can be rough but it's worth it.

Lost ranch is a wonderful home for families of any age to stay. The view is amazing and the spacious property and home allowed space for all. Discovering all the fruit trees was a delight! Stickball on the lawn and lounging in the pool were just a few of the activities we enjoyed with a BBQ each night. Craig is friendly and responsive to all needs. The cows/pigs/peacocks were the highlight for the kids. It is located out of town which was what we wanted but nice to know ahead of arrival.

Staycation
We stay at this lovely home every June. There is nothing we needed that the home didn't have. The views are amazing and the lanai is the best place to enjoy your evening cocktail after a long fun day at the beach or ranch. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!
