About this house rental

Please note: This property is in a quiet residential community and Folly Beach has a strict noise ordinance violation rule of 1 strike. Respect your neighbors, keep the noise down, and NO parties or events.

Renovated mid-century bungalow with all-new amenities
A taste of 1950s Folly Beach awaits in this charming beach cottage, newly renovated in mid-century style to recall an era when greasers danced with girls in poodle skirts on Folly Pier and you parked your “hot rod” right on the beach.

This 1950s two-bedroom, two-bath cottage is just three short blocks from the ocean, one block from busy Center Street and one block from Folly's famous Bert's Market. Completely renovated, it features an all new, fully stocked kitchen with Whirlpool appliances and granite counters, spacious marble walk-in showers, vaulted ceilings paneled in repurposed wood, and smooth, sanded concrete floors that are cool on bare feet and pet friendly, too. New, comfortable furniture includes an “L”-shaped, custom leather sofa that opens out into full size bed and banquette dining. The coffee maker takes ground coffee and has a cleanable filter, and a disposable paper filter can be used if desired. Bedrooms feature super-comfy king-sized beds. Hotel-style amenities include bedside sconces and 100 percent cotton linens. A few 1950s vintage pieces and one-of-a-kind artwork amp up the fun.
Relax on the outdoor patio on the cushioned sofa or eat alfresco under the umbrella overlooking the newly landscaped yard, shaded by what is possibly the largest crape myrtle on the island. There's an outdoor grill and a roomy fenced lot, so bring your furry friends —Folly Beach is a dog's delight! The sleek, enclosed outdoor rain shower promises to be your fave spot for rinsing off after a day at the beach.

When you're ready to head to the beach, just grab the beach cart and four beach chairs. The beach access path at this location is flat, making is easier for kids and older adults to get to the surf. It's also a short walk to Folly Beach's many eclectic restaurants, lounges, nightlife and unique shops, also a short walk away are Folly River Park and Folly Pier, where you can fish, crab, catch a meal or shag-dance with locals.
Parking for up to three cars in the driveway is included.

About the area:
Southern Living has called Folly Beach “the perfect beach town.” Laid-back and casual, with a hippie surfer dude vibe, Folly Beach is a real American beach town that's home to both locals and visitors. From miles of beach and surfing the Washout—where local teens have been “hanging 10” for decades—to dining at locally owned eateries, kayaking island waterways, biking along the shoreline, fishing from or strolling the Folly Pier (the second longest on the Atlantic) or shopping at classic surf shops and unique boutiques, there's something for everyone here. No visit to Folly is complete without a stop at the longstanding Bert's Market, where the slogan is: “We may doze, but we never close.” Where else can you get surfboard wax, boiled peanuts, beer, organic smoothies and a turkey apple panini in the middle of the night? It's classic Folly Beach.
You'll share the island with dolphins, loggerhead turtles, bald eagles, an assortment of sea birds and even a few endangered species. You might even get inspired, as George Gershwin did: he wrote the musical Porgy and Bess while staying on Arctic Avenue.
Come to this real beach town for a Folly good time!

My family stopped here for a quick visit after doing some college visits. We loved the place and wish we could've stayed longer. There were many amenities that we appreciated, from free laundry to paper products that I don't take for granted at rentals. The fenced in back yard and quiet neighborhood were perfect for our dog. Thank you for a great visit. We hope to be able to return next year!

I cannot possibly say enough good things about this place. My only regret is that I can’t give it more than 5 stars. This is a really neat and cozy spot where the host has given much attention to detail. We stayed here for a short weekend to visit our son who’s a cadet at The Citadel. This is a much older structure that has been very nicely renovated and well appointed throughout. Some of the better highlights are a fully stocked kitchen with modern appliances, a cozy living area, plenty of storage areas, very comfortable king sized beds, two full baths, and an outdoor area that includes an outdoor shower with hot water and a charcoal grill. The wood paneled ceilings and dimmable overhead lights truly add to the warm ambiance. Although we did not bring our four-legged family member, this is a pet-friendly home with a fully fenced yard that is safe for pets. The location is close enough to the “heartbeat” of Folly Beach, but tucked back far enough to provide peace and quiet. We will stay here again.
