About this cottage rental

Piper cottage is just four houses and 100 steps from the beach in the heart of Dewey!

Light and bright with coastal decor. Hardwood floors, carpet, new kitchen and bath. Large private deck with nice patio furniture and barbecue grill.

Two bedrooms, one queen bed and the other with two twin beds. Off street parking for one car in shared driveway. This cottage is situated on a lot with two other cottages and is tucked away from the street in a small private garden.

You can walk to everything in town... restaurants, coffee shop at end of street, bars, town park, shopping, entertainment, or take the local open air 'Jolly Trolly' at the end of your street on a three minute ride to the Rehoboth Boardwalk.

WEEKLY RENTALS ONLY June-Sept 1. During the summer months there are no weekend rentals. For weekend rentals in off season, contact us.

Tenants bring sheets, towels, and paper products. Full payment at booking is taken by VRBO, but we can split payments if you contact us before booking.

This is the second time that we (and our golden retriever) have stayed here. The cottage is close to the beach, well stocked and well maintained. Dave is nice to work with and easy to reach if needed. We definitely plan to stay here again!

Dave was an amazing host. He checked in with me when I first arrived and midway through the week just to make sure I had everything I needed. His home is so charming and literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. The house is fully equipped and convenient to everything Dewey has to offer. BTW, you can take your dog onto the beach before 930am and after 530pm during season. George & I definitely will be returning next year

The apartment was exactly as described in the listing. Dave was very pleasant to work with. We ended up not bringing our dog with us and Dave immediately said he would refund the pet deposit.

cute cottage but is small so for 4 adults a bit tight. no glass wine glasses. small charcoal grill. overall we liked it and have stayed in many places in Dewey.

The owner Dave was very communicative, checking in with us to see if things were okay. The house is steps from the beach which is exactly what we wanted. Everything was clean and plenty of items in the kitchen. We had a wonderful time.

I would like VRBO to find me a 3-5 day rental in the Rehoboth/Dewey Beach are that has an ocean view and is on the ocean. The walking distance to beach is ok but I would prefer to be on the beach with an ocean view.

We just loved Piper cottage. It was cozy and comfortable- and in a great location. We walked to the beach and to restaurants in 5 minutes. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a non-hotel experience. Our little dog loved the yard and deck. On our next trip to Dewey, that is where I want to stay!

I was so taken aback when I saw the property. Online photos show a private cottage with a yard and private deck. In reality it’s a duplex with a tiny shared yard. The inside is sweet and quite comfortable for its small size so we enjoyed it once we got past the exterior. Microwave and AC in kitchen didn’t work but the two in the bedrooms cooled things off. The bed in master bedroom is very soft in case you have a bad back. I got use to it. The location is great and overall I would recommend if you are ok with being on top of your neighbors. I’d love to share photos but can’t seem to do so on this site.

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage is within walking distance to restaurants. The beach is just a few minutes walk. I liked that the cottage is off the street behind mature plantings with a small well kept green space. It is the perfect size for my party of three - 2 adults and a golden retriever, as well as for the weekend when it was just 2 adults and 2 kids. The neighborhood provided great walks with our dog off the main road as well a little further down by Silver Lake.

Had a great time at this cottage for our quick beach trip. Beach is literally steps away and lots food options nearby. We were able to cook our breakfasts and lunch in the kitchen with ample pots, pans, dishes, utensils and glassware.

April getaway

Dave’s property is behind another cottage which was getting new siding the first two thirds of our stay. The workers weren’t great about keeping a path open to the cottage, but Dave was very responsive, as was the owner of the front cottage. The cottage was perfect for the three of us and we loved the proximity to the beach. Recommend the breakfast place down at the corner of Saulsbury.

Just big enough for three adults and a dog. Nicely furnished and comfortable enough to hunker down in on rainy days. Lighting is dim for readers, so bringing an extra book light would be useful. So close to the beach that forgotten items are no big deal to run back to retrieve.

We were quite pleased with our proximity to the beach. Having been more accustomed to staying in homes on the beach in the Carolina's and Florida we were suspect of staying a block away. A block away with virtually no traffic and quite an easy walk with beach chairs and so on. The owner was quite accessible and handled a couple of minor issues in exemplary fashion. I would recommend the unit to others.

Perfect location in Dewey. Steps from the beach and all the dining in Dewey. Lovely front patio with shade, a dining table with four comfy chairs, and a nice wicker settee. Nice charcoal grill outside. The most efficient stacked washer and dryer I have ever used! Newer tile work in bathroom so no "gross shower" feeling! All kitchen appliances were adequate. Pots and pans and knives could use an upgrade. Furniture and rugs were dreary and "well used" and could use an upgrade - especially for the price of the unit. We are a family of four and stayed for a week in August 2020. We definitely paid a premium for location, but the place could be "spiffed" up a bit for the seemingly high price. The dining table chairs do not fit under the dining table and they are super uncomfortable, so dining inside is not pleasant and there is no other place to play games/cards inside the unit. If you get a rainy week, the unit is kind of cramped and dreary to spend hours inside. There are also tons of fake flowers and plants everywhere that just collect dust. They should all be thrown out (in my opinion). Also, the two twin beds had lots of dog hair on their comforters when we arrived, so take note if you are not bringing a dog, there have been dogs in the unit. We had great weather and spent all our days on the beach and outside, so we could overlook the downsides of the unit, but it is expensive and could use some TLC to make it more pleasant, sunny, and clean feeling inside.

Had a great week at this cozy cottage. Just right for myself, my husband and my son ( and our bulldog ). Short walk to the beach. Only had one rainy day. Also close to restaurants and shops. Would have stayed longer if I could!

Hideaway in busy Dewey!

My daughter and I stayed there for a week with our Labrador and it was wonderful. This cottage is set back from the side street that leads directly to the beach. Even when the surrounding Dewey area is bustling, it is quiet and serene at this cottage. The whole community is dog-friendly and you can take your dog onto the beach before 9AM and after 5PM every day. Such a beautiful stretch of beach! And a short bike ride on side streets to get into Rehoboth. Terrific!

This cottage is darling. I had a wonderful week. When you were sitting outside on the deck, you didn't even know you were at the beach. Very peaceful, shady, and quiet. The house is small, but perfect for a couple. The kitchen is small, but equipped well (except it really could have had more glasses). The cottage was clean and neat. I will go back to this darling cottage in a heartbeat! BF

This house is small, but perfect for a long weekend. We loved the location! The beach is right up the street ( 100 ft) and could walk to many restaurants/bars. Rehobeth Beach is a 3 minute drive away. The house shares a driveway and yard.
