About this cabin rental

Built in 1986, this lake home offers a year-round 8 person Hot Tub, all new kitchen appliances, floor to ceiling knotty pine, a large wrap around deck, a rainbow play set, a large grill, a Blackstone (my favorite), and a wonderful fire pit. We also have Kayaks and a Peddle Boat for use, and a large water trampoline for the kids to burn off some energy!

The yard is large and flat, making for a great space for lawn games. The property is nestled on 100' of lake shore with a wonderful sand beach, crystal clear water, and excellent swimming; perfect for the kids and adults, alike! Bring your boat or rent one, we've got a place for you to tie-up on our spacious dock!

This cabin sleeps 13-14 comfortably! There are 3 enclosed bedrooms, a large loft bedroom, and a futon in the walk-out level living area. We also have 2 pack-n-plays as for young children.

There are two bathrooms, one on the main level (Sink, Toilet, Shower) and one on the lower level (Sink, Toilet, Shower, Tub). There is also a washer and dryer on site!

The kitchen comes stocked with all the eating and cooking utensils, including a toaster, popcorn maker, 2 coffee makers (Mr. Coffee & Keurig), a Crock Pot, and an ice maker in the fridge. We also have very good water (filtered and softened), so no need to lug up gallons of bottled water.

Both main level and lower level living rooms have flat screen TVs with Blu-Ray players and internet TV (Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and more). The main level has a stereo.

In addition, the cabin sports central air, however, the structure breaths very nicely in the summer and stays very comfortable.

One other benefit is our location. We are located a very short walking distance to Manhattan Beach Lodge, WCCO 2017 Viewers' Choice for "Best Dockside Bar in Minnesota". There you'll find great dining, bars, and live music! We are also only a 5 minute drive from many other restaurants, bars, shopping, golfing, camping, and the grocery store.

We loved the dock, outdoor space/deck and the that the cabin accommodated our family. Also loved using the blackstone so we didn’t need to lug ours with. We enjoyed our stay and made lots of memories.

This home was perfect for our family to gather, play, relax and enjoy a lake. It has plenty of room to spread out both indoors and out. with decks on the front and back (huge!) of home and a large dock area down by the lake. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and all 9 of us fit around the dinner table! We enjoyed the floating trampoline, paddle boat and dock at the lake. We had fun catching sun fish and bass off the dock. The playground was a real plus for our grandchildren. We set up badminton on the back yard, took bike rides and went into Crosslake to play pickleball at the rec center, and we enjoyed mega ice cream cones at Lake Country Craft and Cones. Dan provides plenty of games, books and indoor toys for rainy days. Dan was quick to respond when we asked questions, great to work with! Thanks Dan!

The property has everything you could need for a get away (at least from what we can tell from the inside of the house)! My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately for us, Mother Nature decided to dump several inches of snow a few days before we arrived. The driveway and a path to the door were cleared but, both the back and front decks were covered with several inches of snow making these areas inaccessible during our stay. We were unable to gain access to the beach and the fire pit due to snow as well, although that is understandable. The hot tub area is very nice and we appreciated the work that had been done to help ensure that snow melt and weather underneath the deck did not affect use of the hot tub. The chairs near the hot tub were rickety. Two were definitely not usable and should be thrown out, and the other two were questionable but, one was used successfully without breaking underneath us. The dining table and chairs were also somewhat rickety and mildly nerve wracking when in use. Overall, I think the property is great and obviously would be so much more fun in the warmer months when you can access the beach and the fire pit.

Great place, owner was easily reached and easy to work with. A bit of a drive to brainerd for shopping but wonderful shopping closer in nisswa. We were there in the fall and enjoyed the large hot tub. This place would be a blast for a family in the summer months with the lake right there and lots of lake activities available. Definitely recommend!

We loved the location, the house had everything we needed. We absolutely loved the hot tub each morning with a cup of coffee! Most of our family ventured up the lake steps only once, from there on out we took advantage of the elevator. The only recommendation I have is to put a motion light on the deck side of the house, or fix the one that’s there. It was very dark each night! We ended up just leaving on a flashlight each night when we out there so we could see the steps.

Came for a girls trip again. This is the perfect spot for us to relax, laugh, dance and enjoy ourselves. The setting is beautiful. Everything works as it should. Dan is most responsive and answers any and all questions immediately. Check in was a breeze. The hot tub just makes it all perfect. We will be back

First of all, the property owner was great to work with and very communicative. Second, the cabin had a beautiful view, easy access to the water (even an elevator if you didn’t want to do the stairs), was full of charm, very clean and had separate areas for kids and adults to hangout which everyone appreciated! Third, the boat landing was very close to the property so we were able to get the boat in the water and docked at the cabin seamlessly. Lastly, the crappie fishing was unreal! It was as if they were just jumping in the boat! It was a delight for the kiddos, adults and our veteran fishermen alike! We had a wonderful time together making memories and refueling the soul! We had a great time at the cabin. 6 adults, a 4 yr old and a 9 month old and there was plenty of space for all to be together and also enough separation so you could find space away if wanted. Had everything we needed and more! Our granddaughter especially liked playing on the unicorn float.. and after being in the cold September Lake water,the hot tub was the perfect way to warm up!

The setting was very nice. Quiet and easy to find. Very disappointed in the VERY narrow spiral staircase. A couple of the stairs were loose and being a family of 6’ and taller people, we kept hitting our heads at the top. (I apparently missed the whole staircase thing when we booked) Lots of toys for little kids, but had to go down that spiral staircase to get to the tub at bath time, and sure didn’t want a 2yr old walking down those stairs by themselves. Very much in need of dusting (ceiling fans were caked with dust), and bed skirts were old and torn. (Didn’t want to look under them after seeing the ceiling fan!)

We all lost a co worker and best friend one year ago this weekend. She was on her way to work and was killed on her motorcycle. We wanted to be together this weekend to pay tribute to her. What a perfect place to do it. Cabin is beautiful, clean and spacious. The kitchen has everything you need which is hard to find. First time ever that the property was even better than the pictures. Host was wonderful. We enjoyed the dock, hot tub and bon fire pit. It was an emotional weekend for us. We would love to come back and do this every year. Thank you Dan. Rent this place you will not regret it.

Great place to stay for kids and parents! Fun spaces to play in and out of the water. Toys and games available for a rainy day. Located on a great little lake blocking the wind with easy access to larger lakes for fun and fishing. Wonderful communication with owner. Definitely recommend!

Main/up/ceiling noise - Any sound on the main floor reflexes off the ceiling, which goes up at about 45 degrees, and is readily herd up stairs in the bedroom that only has a curtain. This makes it very hard for anyone in that room to sleep once others are up and moving on the main floor. The lakeside deck on the main floor is covered with something that is very slippery when wet. Many of our group slipped. A few of the 78 steps that go down to the water feel weak. There were 2 wasp nests under the deck, by the hot tub. The living space on the main floor, which includes the dinning room and living room, is small. On rainy days it was too small for 7 adults and 6 kids. The hot tub waterline needed a good cleaning. The gas grill burner heat deflectors need to be replaced. One was a pile of rust, one was damaged, and the other was not much better. Everything else was great. Recommend using the beach towels you bring with you in the bathrooms starting the last night, which will allow you to complete "washing and drying" the Owners towels the night before.

This house is amazing! Perfect for a group!! We went for a 40th bday girls trip and we all loved it! Lots of space and it was super clean! Pretty sure the beds are better than what I have at home. Slept like a rock!! I also loved that the kitchen is fully stocked. Crockpots and everything. Will definitely book this again!!

We have stayed at other VRBO's and in comparison, this property required quite extensive cleaning which included changing bedding, washing and drying towels which other properties have not required. House was nice and clean, neighborhood was quiet. We were required to bring our own trash bags, toilet paper and paper towels and they only provided with 1 complimentary roll and also charged a cleaning fee which seemed a bit excessive for what we were required to do.

Gorgeous area. Clean, roomy, and inviting. Neighbors were a little closer than I realized. There were some small defects that I notified the owner about just so that he is aware and can fix those. I do think that remaking beds and laundry requirements were a bit unexpected when paying a cleaning fee, but I would stay there again if I was in the area.

We had a great time relaxing here over MEA break. With two families of five, the house was a good fit for all of us. The yard was big enough for our kids to play, and the hot tub was a convenient break from a chilly fall day. The house is conveniently located within a five minute walk from Manhattan Beach Lodge, and the owner was very responsive and friendly!

We had an amazing long weekend at the look lodge. We had 6 adults and 2 toddlers. The space was beautiful comfortable and safe for kids. The hot tub was great for the first snow of the season. And the beds were all super comfy which is an area rental cabins often are lacking.Dan was great to communicate with and he answered all of my.silly questions quickly. This cabin provided a great place to stay for a long weekend. It's located in close proximity to Crosslake and nature hiking. We enjoyed the layout of the space and the ability spread out. The property is well kept, away from neighbors and the hot tub/fire pit was huge hit. Would greatly recommend this cabin for a long weekend with 6 - 8 people.

A group of friends rented the cabin for the weekend. Dan was very accommodating and the cabin was clean and beautiful ! The hot tub was amazing ! We all had beds to sleep in and a great fire pit to sit around at night. The stair elevator was perfect for the high elevation down to a nice sitting area on the dock ! We recommend renting this cabin ! Conveniently located too !

Very comfortable, well equipped cabin with so many things to do outdoors; great fishing for sunfish, kayaking, swimming with the lily pad, and hanging out at the dock. Up at the cabin, there was the playground for the kids, the firepit, and of course the awesome hot tub. Everyone was busy and happy. We loved the location. I highly recommend this VRBO.

Dan's place is lovely! A beautiful place on the lake and a great hot tub! The instructions covered everything we needed to know. Be prepared for gorgeous scenery! There are a lot of steps down to the dock but it is WORTH IT! The only thing we forgot were spices and seasonings :) It was the perfect place for our COVID honeymoon!
