Wonderful lake view, having the pontoon was great to get out on the water and enjoy nature; my chocolate lab mix had a blast roaming around chasing her tennis balls. The landscaping on the property is beautiful, we were kept in supply of firewood for bonfires every night! The Farmhouse itself is very eclectic, quirky, and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Larry was a very very welcoming host. We will definitely be back.

The house was very clean and nicely decorated. We loved the patio where we hung out a lot. The playground was neglected and broken swings. It was great to have the pontoon until the motor stopped our last day. Larry was there and tried to fix it. It was fun running about the lake with the paddle boat. Overall we had a good time. Thanks Larry for sharing your home with us.

The property, farmhouse and lake/pontoon were as described. Our granddaughters loved fish and release off the dock. The pontoon was alot of fun, everyone enjoyed it!. The farmhouse was immaculate, very clean and as described. Fun and interesting accommodations. Loved the eclectic art and decor. We will be back for a longer stay!!!

We had the best time here! It perfectly slept 4 couples, my niece and our dogs. We had a great time hanging out in the beautiful yard, swimming in the lake and catching fish off the dock. It was also awesome how close it was to so many great spots in crosslake. Larry was easy to communicate with as well. Definitely recommend!

The home was just as the pictures showed!
The kitchen was easy to cook in, dishwasher great, fridge is large top fridge over freezer. No ice; we bought ice cube trays at DG in town.
The eat in area was roomy, we folded the beautiful table clothes up and set them aside~
We appreciated fans in each bedroom!
The landscape on the lakeside was perfect for the grandkids to play on their own, peddle boat, and swim! We brought a kayak, also rented some in town, and had our own SUP…the pontoon is like an old crest we had owned in Michigan so we knew how to get her to start and did take a ride in! There were plenty of beach towels in the utility room cabinets for us too. The fishing off the end of the dock was amazing!!! BIG sunfish, bass and even baby walleye!
Having a clothesline to hang wet suits, towels and life jackets on was so helpful too.
We appreciated the wood for an outdoor fire, and making s’mores! The porch area and seating outside was delightful too.
Our only wish would have been for a TV that worked. We had a few rainy periods that the game playing was exhausted and we’d hoped to watch a movie together…We were able to piece together cables to get the basement
DVR to work, but it was in B/W.
Our only other problem we solved was covering a few windows for sleeping~We did use towels and foil!
Thanks for sharing your property with our family! We were refreshed from city life!

The property was just as described. Use of the pontoon was a highlight of the trip. Tons of fish to catch off the dock and even more off the pontoon. Great swimming on the middle of the lake. Lots of breakable Nick-Nacks but was easily able to put them up higher where the toddlers couldn’t reach. Larry was extremely responsive to any issues or concerns. Only downside is that a realtor and huge family stopped by and wanted to tour the house during our stay - we declined because it felt like an invasion of privacy since our stuff was scattered everywhere. The garage door was opened and if we didn’t have the dogs in the house they might have done it anyways since they said they saw us on the pontoon but we were on our way back.
Only recommendation would be to have an updated TV in the basement for movies on rainy days - the TV/VCR wouldn’t work properly. Also, the outdoor grill is older and the heat source isn’t very strong if you plan on grilling anything outside.
Loved the stay otherwise!

An awesome place for our annual family summer vacation. We were a group of 8, 4 adults, 4 kids (ages 10-6) + 2 dogs. Beautiful well-equipped home with lots to look at and gorgeous lake. Kids had a blast fishing, swimming, playing games, eating s’mores around the fire pit. House was very clean with plenty of a/c and fans. Nearby Cross Lake has a big grocery store with enough of the vegetarian and gluten free options we needed. We hope we can come again!

We enjoyed the house and the lake very much. It was quiet and peaceful. The house had lots of space inside and outside for the family. The only issue I had was with dog allergies in the house.

The fam and 2 pups had a great time hanging out at Larry’s place! The pontoon was awesome and we had a great time playing in the water with our dogs. It was the first time they experienced the great outdoors and they loved it! Had fun by the fire eating s’mores and sharing stories and laughs, and the foosball table was a hit too. Thanks for the memories!

Quiet, relaxing. Private lake with many fish. Dishwasher did not get dishes clean. Otherwise all the amenities you could want.

Outdoor space was great. Plenty of room to set up a volleyball court in the front yard. The lake side yard had two patios, one was perfect for meals and lounging, one had a fire pit. We set up a two tier croquet court, hung 4 two person hammocks, and still plenty of beach area. The dock and pontoon were great and probably the best paddle boat, appeared to be homemade.

We had a great time! The house was very clean and was exactly as listed. Great location … the lake was beautiful. Larry was very responsive to our calls - and Heidi (the dog) was a joy to be around! Having the pontoon boat and paddle boat at the property was awesome! Would definitely return.

Well maintained, large lake house that accommodated three generations of our family comfortably. The pontoon is a great feature, the lake is clean for swimming and the fish were biting. We loved the eclectic decor in the house and we will be back!

Very spacious and well equipped home. The garage space for cars and fully gassed comfortable pontoon were very nice touches. The furnishings were whimsical and “antiquey.” The out door patio space was wonderful and separate fire pit area very nice also. The showers and bathrooms could use more soaps and hair products but otherwise adequate. Host communication was excellent and responsive. Thank you for a great stay.

Family summer lake vacation
We had such a great stay at Larry‘s house. It is like a museum like another person said about their stay. There is so much room for everyone. Lots of entertainment for all. Larry is also an amazing artist. Please check out his art on the walls. We would surely come back again.

A breath of the north.
Amazing time! Kids developed an itch for fishing after countless pan fish were caught.
The accommodations were as expected and we were all very happy.
3 dogs ran themselves tired dodging in and out of the woods and water.
10/10 would like to experience it in January!

.The house was very clean and well stocked with spices and supplies. Like a museum with so many beautiful furnishings. We enjoyed the paddle boat and were very surprised that the pontoon boat was much newer than the pictures on the listing. The patio area is beautiful. Had so much fun out on the lake. Larry was friendly and very easy to work with.

Exactly as stated!
A great stay in Crosslake! This property is an exactly as stated lake home with great communication with Larry! Bonus was an upgraded pontoon, and no complaints when we showed up early to unload before hitting the Spider Lake ATV trails. Interesting things to see and talk about in the house, good gathering spots with an abundance of seating. This property is one of the lower cost options in the area, but had everything we needed! Thank Larry and family for a great stay!

We had the best time having a cousins cabin for a wedding. Fantastic location and easy to get around the area.

Awesome nice getaway from the cities.
The house was a nice getaway from the cities. Never stayed at a farmhouse before (we've stayed at cabins only), but the place was nice and cozy. More than enough space for us to enjoy being indoors and outdoors. It was a bit windy during our stay, but i think that actually kept us cool outside. The pontoon was a plus and fishing was pretty good. Too bad the fishes were small. Larry was very responsive to my texts and helped us with whatever we needed. Awesome host and awesome place.

Interesting lake home with loads of charm and character!
Our stay on Velvet Lake was wonderful. We found the house to be extremely clean and well supplied. It was nice having access to the paddleboat and pontoon. The home itself was bigger than we had anticipated and each room was decorated with nice antiques and definitely added to the stay. The lake was peaceful and quiet. Several separate areas inside and out suitable for the whole group as well as private areas. Close to Cross Lake and on a paved road. Would highly recommend to any who may be considering a stay. Very nice overall.
