The Space: The Guest House has fast wireless internet, the TV has cable as well as a Tivo with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. Both bedrooms include a queen bed. One of the bedrooms has a large desk including a computer with dual monitors for your home office needs during your stay. The kitchen has pots, pans, dinnerware, etc. The Guest House has two attached decks, one at the entry to the Guest House and one off of the kitchen looking out on the backyard. Both decks offer a table for two to enjoy meals or a beverage outside. The backyard also has additional sitting areas. The Guest House is approximately 650 square feet but feels much larger as it is well designed.
Location: The Neighborhood: Our Guest House is located less than one mile from numerous coffee houses (Pachamama Coffee, Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters, Tupelo Coffee & Roasting, Pete's Coffee & Tea, and Starbucks), restaurants (Selland's Market Cafe, Cafe Rolle, Juno's Kitchen & Delicatessen, Cielito Lindo Mexican Gastronomy, La Trattoria Bohemia, China Cafe, Midtown Taqueria, Orphan, Hana Tsubaki Restaurant, Thai Palace, OneSpeed Pizza, Pasty Shack, etc.), bars (Bonn Lair, Hilltop Tavern, Clubhouse 56, and Chargin's Bar & Grill), and great parks (McKinley Park, Bertha Henschel Park, and East Portal Park). There is also a local grocery store (Compton's Market) with a cafe and bar within a short walk from our Guest House.
Many of Sacramento's best breweries are located near our Guest House including Twelve Rounds Brewing Company (~1 mile), Sactown Union Brewery (~2 miles), New Helvetia Brewing Company (~3 miles), Ruhstaller Brewery + Taproom (~3 miles), Track 7 Brewing Company (~4 miles), Device Brewing Company (~4 miles), and New Glory Craft Brewery (~4 miles). If you prefer wine, there are also a number of great wineries in Sacramento including a few nearby urban wineries, including Revolution Wines (~2 miles) and Twisted Twig Winery-Tasting Room (~2 miles), and the Guest House is only approximately 14 miles to Clarksburg and its numerous wineries including Bogle Vineyards, Elevation Ten, River Grove Winery, Julietta Winery, and the Old Sugar Mill (oldsugarmill_com).
Everything that Midtown and Downtown Sacramento have to offer is located no more than 4 miles from our Guest House including the Sacramento Convention Center (~2 miles), the California State Capitol (~3 miles), the R Street Corridor (~3 miles), Old Town Sacramento (~4 miles), the Sacramento Kings Golden 1 Center (~4 miles), California Best Year-Round Weekly Farmers Market (~4 miles), and hundreds of restaurants, bars, theaters, museums, and cultural events. Guest Access: The Guest House is private. The decks attached to the Guest House are for the exclusive use by our guests. The backyard is shared with our house, but we use it very infrequently.
Interaction with Guests: As we live in the main house, we are available to answer questions or address any issues that may arise during your stay.
Getting Around: If you have a car, you won't need to drive far due to our convenient location. If you don't have a car, Mercy Hospital (~3 blocks from the Guest House) provides a free shuttle to the two closest light rail stations. There are also a couple bus lines that run a few blocks from our house. Thus, whether you travel by car, transit, foot, or bike, getting around is easy when you stay at our Guest House.
In short, whether you are coming to Sacramento for work or pleasure, there is no better place to stay!

I was in town for the Ironman race and this location was great. My adult daughter and I stayed for a week and it perfect. We had everything we needed. It was very clean and comfortable.
Chris was very responsive although I didn't really need anything because everything was very clear and they had already provided everything we needed.
Would absolutely recommend.

The guest house was an enjoyable stay. Bed was comfortable, house was clean, and surroundings quiet. It was convenient to have the use of a full sized washer and dryer. Neighborhood was nice to walk around and close to several good coffee shops. I was visiting friends and also did some sightseeing while in CA. I would stay in this guest house again.

My experience was great. I stayed in town for a work event. Chris is a great host and the Check in process was seem-less. Thank you 😊

My wife and I spent a lovely week at Chris's property. We were in town for the Ironman. The layout of the place is really good, the beds were comfortable, and communication with Chris was great. There were restaurants and coffee shops nearby, and downtown was a short drive away. Would definitely stay there again!

The other reviewers were right- it is really more spacious than the pictures can show. Great location. Quiet neighborhood, but close to everything. House is well-equipped for long-term stays. Would definitely stay again.

Best walking location
We stayed for a week to attend a class at the Hellenic center. We were able to walk to most locations. We did not need a car except for bringing home groceries. The accommodations are excellent. The beds were comfortable. The hosts are exceptional.

Cozy Hideaway
The unit is very accurate to the photos and description. Chris is very accessible. The location was perfect for us. It was central to relatives and friends and our favorite eateries. The kitchen is well laid out and there are multiple places to enjoy an al dente meal with a front deck and a back deck and a sweet picnic table with festive lighting out back. Our first night in my sister-in-law and her husband brought take out from Selland’s which we shared in that nice secluded spot.
The neighborhood is a beautiful place to walk and you will not walk alone. There are always people out walking their dogs. We were there at Halloween and the neighborhood was well adorned.
It is just what we wanted.

AMAZING STAY!
There are not enough flowery or complimentary words I could possibly say to express how genuine and accommodating this stay was, mainly due to Chris! Everything was exactly as described, and I wouldn’t change a thing! Aside from the great stay, the neighborhood was nice, quiet, and convenient to just about anything you need! I’d DEF stay here again but most of all Chris and his family were just great hosts! This place is WELL worth it! ☺️ Thanks Chris for making my daughter and I feel welcomed! Blessings!

Excellent property, great location for visiting family.
Small but cozy apartment. It had everything we needed for a 12 day stay in a perfect location for our visit. We were able to Uber everywhere we wanted to go very inexpensively. Good hosts

The Guest House was excellent. Very clean and tidy, and location was perfect for us.
Overall, the Guest House met our expectations. The location was perfect for us for visiting our family. Great neighborhood for walking around East Sac. We have stayed at a number of VRBO properties here in the states and in Europe, and we would rank the Guest House near the top of that list. We definitely recommend this accommodation for an extended stay in East Sacramento.

Great place to stay! Easy to get around the area.
We came for our daughter's wedding the house met all of our needs and then some. The home owners are so great to communicate with! We hope to rent from them in the future! Extremely accommodating!

Quiet, cozy guest house
We're so glad we found this guest house so close to family in East Sacramento. So much better than a hotel. Comfortable bed (only used one bedroom) and new appliances in kitchen (water dispenser in refrigerator door). Full size washer and dryer with detergent and softener provided. Easy parking on the street. We will definitely stay when we visit Sacramento in the future.

perfect stay in nice and quiet neighborhood
We spent 5 weeks in this lovely nice place and liked this house and surrounding. Chris is a great and friendly host and the house is very well fitted and equipmented with all what you need and more. It is very clean. We liked and used many times the outside space on the backyard. East Sacramento is very good located with easy and short access to midtown or many coffee shops and restaurants near by. We can highly recommend this house.

Nice bungalow
The place was perfect to meet our needs. It was nicely furnished and updated. Our host were helpful and pleasant during our stay. In fact, they had an ironing board and we asked if they had an iron. The next day he brought us a new steam iron for the place. The area was great for restaurants and close proximity to downtown Sacramento. The homes and trees were nice and such a variety to enjoy during our walks around the area. I would go back there if we rented again.

Pleasant and comfortable.
Clean, comfortable, well maintained unit in a quite neighborhood.
The hosts were helpful when needed but mostly let us be to ourselves - private entrance.
The full size washer and dryer was convenient as my wife did one load per week during our four weeks stay.
The internet service was very good and reliable.
We used the guest house as a 'base of operations' as we visited many places in Central California. It was good to come back to a nice bed.
There many fine restaurants in Sacramento, some very close, but all relative easy to find as the street naming system of the city was easy to lean.
We had a good stay and would recommend this guest house.

Centrally located with all the amenities.
The house was nice, quiet, and clean. The homeowner was quick to respond to questions. There was parking available and the homeowner provided parking passes. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood with a park nearby as well as restaurants and a shopping center. Overall my family and I were very satisfied with our stay at this property.
