This is our second visit to this property. It provides perfect accommodation for our family party of 6 with proximity to the sea and forests, warm and comfy.
The owners are always hugely welcoming and very efficient and this cottage has everything we need. We will definitely be back!

Perfect
The cottage is an idyllic spot, tucked away but within walking distance of a pub with excellent food, and within driving distance of the forest and beaches. The accommodation is spacious and well- equipped - we even found plasters and sellatape! I would happily spend weeks here! The owners were wonderful and did everything to make the stay perfect. Highly recommend.

Absolutely perfect! The cottage is a hidden gem. Such a lovely space in a lovely area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is so well equipped - the hosts have a thought of everything! The finishing touches of chilled wine, local bread, tea, coffee, milk & jam are so thoughtful. Fabulous hosts and such a wonderful cottage. We look forward to visiting again.

A retired couple in our Golden Wedding anniversary year, we booked Pond Cottage long before the Covid crisis to celebrate our "special year " with close family. Chosen for it's location in the New Forest and for the range of accommodationand facilities provided, Pond Cottage did not disappoint. It has an impressive kitchen / dining area with vaulted ceiling and oak beams and lots of space. The equipment provided is generally of high quality including the Wifi connection that had good reception.
The cottage was warm and toasty - just as well because we had a wet and windy week unfortunately - and the wood burner was a delight when we lit it on a couple of evenings.
Access is good down a lengthy gravel drive bordered by fields occupied by New Forest ponies. However, the drive from the main roads is on narrow country lanes which are a little tricky especially when daylight has gone.
Our daughter, husband and 2 grandchildren enjoyed the cottage and the walks nearby. We all went to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard which was a lovely day out and my wife and I visited Sammy Miller's Motorcycle Museum on a particularly wet and windy day - both tourist attractions were excellent value and very interesting.
Overall, Pond Cottage enabled us to have a much needed family holiday and the layout enabled us to give each other space. We used the ownstairs bedroom and ensuite whilst the family had the 3 bedrooms upstairs and the bathroom / toilet up there. The owner described Pond Cottage as "quirky" and it is, but pleasantly so. There are steep stairs to the first floor and stairs from the kitchen to the lounge - not an issue for us, but maybe for those with mobility problems.

Pond cottage was fine for our extended family.
Pond cottage was fine for our extended family. What we were promised on the web site was there as expected. Simon met us and gave a good briefing about the cottage and the bits and pieces and local knowledge they have gleaned (look out for cat paws- he will tell you). Jenni's directions to the cottage were far more sensible (using local knowledge) were far more sensible than the country cottage web site who simply used google style directions and land you in 1 hour traffic jam at lyndhurst (to be avoided at all costs unless you want to go to the town. Only comment would be to come onto Sandy Down and immediate right into Hurstley lane before turning left into Lower Sandy Down to go to Pond Cottage

We've tried to think of something negative to say about this cottage but none of us could come up with anything! The only we did think of was that we would have liked a bigger bed, but it was insanely comfortable and wasn't a problem at all.
We have hopefully started a yearly tradition of family holidays to the New Forest, and this was a perfect place to start.
Slightly remote, peaceful and idyllic. The garden was perfect with little pathways mown out of the lawn for our little grandson to run about. We felt so at home, would love to return.
