Found all the family photographs around the house very eerie.
Found all the family photographs around the house very eerie. Also all cushions, duvets and most pillows were feather which I am very allergic to, it would have been good to know before so that I ensured I had enough anti histamines

At that price we’d expect some form of welcome pack, and more than one match to light a fire.
At that price we’d expect some form of welcome pack, and more than one match to light a fire. But there was only one log anyway, no kindling or firefighters. Cold on arrival so this was a frustration. So a poor ‘welcome’. We got over it, though, and much enjoyed our stay.

What a beautiful cottage in a lovely location, just what the family needed! Perfect for exploring the area, but on the edge of the town so not affected by the high number of visitors, but close enough to enjoy all that Castleton has to offer!!

Lovely old cottage in the centre of Castleton
We visited this cottage to celebrate two leap day birthdays 6 and 14 !. It was perfect for our needs. Great location with lovely views over the Hope Valley. The weather was cold but the heating in the cottage was fine and the log burner very cosy. On road parking wasn't a problem and there was very little noise from the road. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room for the four of us.
Plenty of places to eat and drink a short walk away. Local shop was very accommodating and had all we needed for the short stay. Did make much use of the outside spaces due to the weather but there would have been lovely in the summer.
Access was very straight forward.

Very good.
Very good. But wi fi only worked in the kitchen and not round the whole house as advertised. The router needs updating.Shower gave out luke warm water even when it was put on high.
Central heating was unreliable at times.Otherwise it was a very good holiday.

We completely fell in love with the cottage and didn't want to leave! Such a special place and so quiet and peaceful, the location being tucked away on the edge of town. The views were beautiful and we particularly loved the breakfast area, so cosy! The dogs were made to feel very welcome with doggy towels provided and a secure garden which had lovely views.
We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful old cottage with wonderful views out of the windows and also from the top of the garden. A few areas (kitchen sink and cupboards, might be nice to have a walk in shower in one of the bathrooms) could do with updating, though it is clear the current owners are gradually getting around to this. Fantastic old wooden dining table for long and luxurious family meals. Poor top-up heating for cold summers nights. Loved the stone flagged floors, the windows, the garden terrace.

We enjoyed the cottage very much but on a rainy evening if you wanted to watch the TV, we felt the media needed updating. Wasn't a lot of choice in this day and age.
We are not one for watching much tele, we would play cards or games rather than tv but on the odd occasion when the younger adults wanted to watch something there was little choice.

Great Easter break at Mulluons.
Great Easter break at Mulluons. Very spacious cottage with amazing views. Location was brilliant and we didn’t need to use the car at all over the weekend. Will definitely return to visit more of the cafes and pubs in Castleton. Bridget the housekeeper was very helpful and our kids enjoyed egg hunting in the garden!

Overall, we had an excellent stay in Mullions, location was superb, the facilities were great, and it was however, the cottage is looking a bit tired and in my opinion it is in need of a spruce up. The sofas are well worn, the oven and some oven pans were dirty, lots of cutlery but not one set of glasses and in places Mullions looks unloved. Its in need of a bit of TLC to make it a brilliant place to stay.

A lovely cottage on the outskirts of the village with on road parking outside.
A lovely cottage on the outskirts of the village with on road parking outside. The village itself was lovely with an abundance of walking on your doorstep. The cottage itself is a stunning building with lots of olde world charm. Large rooms, furnishings were comfortable enough and good quality WiFi. We didn’t use the decking area due to the time of year but it afforded wonderful views and would be great in the warmer months. Only negative points were that the bathrooms and hallway could do with decoration / sprucing up and we needed to boil a kettle to get hot water for washing up in the kitchen. I would stay at this property again.
