Nice walk to the lake with great dock and neighborhood
8.0 / 10.0
The home was nice, area was great, path to private dock was very convenient along with a wonderful dock itself. I would recommend updating the listing with more details to eliminate unnecessary questions from guests in the future. I.e. what type of coffee maker there is (single serve, filters provided) is the grill gas or charcoal, is propane/charcoal provided for guests, etc. But overall, everything was great.

Our family of 4 adults and 2 teens really enjoyed this place. Lake access was just down the hill a short walk. The wooded area was like a country setting. The house was clean and had most items we needed. It was located a few miles north of Augusta if we needed anything. There were a few bugs, but that is Georgia. Water pressure was a little low. We found we couldn't use both showers at the same time. Could use a cheap Kuerig as most people find that more convenient than trying to meaure out coffee for one cup.

Stayed here to attend a local bass tournament. Overall, this was perfect for me with plenty of parking for boat (did not have to disconnect from truck), easy to back into, great coffee supplied, great communication, and very clean. I do have some feedback for 2 items that people might find troublesome: After a hot 90 plus degree day on the water, coming back each day to a 88 degree house was difficult as it took until almost 3am each night to get back down to 70 deg. It could be that I just couldn't figure out the Nest thermostat, but try as I might, the air would turn off while out. Water pressure was very low which is ok for me but might turn off others. Did not have the opportunity to see or use the dock so no comment on that. Overall, great place with bunk queens in one room, 2 big beds in master, and two twins in 3rd room. I would definitely look to stay here again for future tournaments on Clark's Hill lake.

We love this property ! This was our second stay here in the past 6 weeks ! Convenient to multiple stores for supplies. We found the Publix shopping center offered everything we needed, just like home ! Only 12 miles away. We rented a Pontoon at Clarks Hill Marina and had a blast. We really enjoyed the neighborhood for walks and had lots of fun on the covered dock. Our Boston Terrier was very happy here and enjoyed the freedom without a leash. The house here is very cozy, enjoyed cooking and using nice appliances. The beds and bedding were comfortable. Master BR shower is roomy and updated. Can’t wait to come back, hopefully soon! Thanks for sharing your property with us.

The Covered Dock was our Favorite and we spent much of our time there.
We enjoyed the house overall. It was in a convenient location for us. The dock allowed us to keep the boat there during our stay which was a definite plus. Our Boston Terrier had the freedom to run around outside which was nice too. The kitchen pots and pans could have been better. The microwave also hadn’t been cleaned inside. Overall is was pleasurable. We also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. We’ll definitely be back.

False advertising
My two kids and I travelled from Texas and had been on the road many, many hours by the time we arrived at the property. I was excited to finally be there until we opened the door and toured the house and the property. The property is more outdated than the pictures lead you to believe. The master bathroom shower leaked huge amounts of water onto the floor when in use. The master bedroom had a torn comforter on the bed. The back door did not fully open. The flooring was uneven in the house. There were torn/broken blinds on multiple doors and windows. The trail to the lake was very scary and not well marked. To top it off, there were roaches. We were supposed to be there for 5 nights; but, we only stayed approximately 3 hours. The roaches were the last straw. After going back and forth with the owner regarding a refund, I contacted vrbo directly. They worked with me and the owner to give me a full refund. I was sorely disappointed and would not recommend this property.

Not what you think via pictures
Pictures provide the impression this house is lake front when it actually is behind a very large house under construction, the walk is treacherous and all down hill to the lake. The dock was not attached to the land. Could not use the property and was denied a refund.

Lake House
The house was clean on inside but very outdated. The oven had broken knobs and several blinds were broken. The outside furniture was old, dirty, and covered with mold. House needs some TLC.

Beware Rental is unsuitable to stay
Worst VRBO experience ever. The property was filthy and not suitable for anyone to stay in. Mold throughout the house especially in the bathrooms. No hand soaps provided. Appliances & TV were beyond dated and almost none functional. Upon arrival, the refrigerator was not working properly. Kitchen sink water pressure is so low that you can't even wash dishes if needed. AC doesn't work in Master bedroom at all and has no ceiling fan. House is infested with roaches. Pathway to dock is dangerous & not safe due to loose stepping pavers & old boards. Be sure to read all the fine print as it says accommodates up to 6 people but that is only for 4 adults + 2 children. Owner will charge you more money for additional adult guest even though house has 3 bedrooms. None of the beds were comfortable. Everyone woke up with lower back pain. Do not make the same mistake as we did. This is NOT WORTH the money. You've been warned!

Great location for event at Clarks Hill
The property was nice. The decks were great to be outside on. The property manger was very accommodating regarding a little (1 hour) later check out. There didn't seem to be any way to get down to the lake without trespassing on another property and there were no instructions in the house as to how to do that. It was an easy place to stay while competing in the Tall Pines Triathlon at Clarks Hill Park.

Excellent get away off the lake!
The rental of the lake house went very smoothly and all questions were answered in a timely manner. The description of the property is very accurate. We arrived after the sun went down and would have been nice to have a porch light left on to help us see in the dark. Once inside, the home was spacious and inviting. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking and serving utensils! The small concerns we did have were quickly addressed by the owners and that in itself is a huge plus!! The beds were comfortable and hot water was plentiful in the showers. The dock was a HUGE added bonus as we just left out boat in the slip when not in use. The boat launch wasn't very far away either! The only downside to this property is the access trail to get to the dock on the lake. My father-in-law had to stop a few times to catch his breath as it is a little bit of a hike. The trail is not terrible as my father-in-law made the small hike 3 out of the 4 days we were there. Just something to keep in mind if you will have elderly people with you going on the boat. It is also a good idea to make your shopping list and hit the store once as this lake house is a good distance away from any grocery store. It is quite and peaceful. Highly recommend this property for peace and quiet as well as for fishing / boating! We will rent again in the future!

Most Enjoyable!
We had a great stay at White Oak. Everything we wanted to do or check out for the next visit was nearby. We love the area! Absolutely beautiful! The fish weren't biting for us this time but we are looking forward to trying it out again :)

Needs Work
The property needs work. Back door drags the floor to the point the knob is about to come off. Lights in master didn't work. Just needs to be upgraded!

Good fishing
House isn’t directly on the water and you have to walk up and down a steep hill and a private drive to get to the dock. The dock was great. It was getting to it and from it that was somewhat of an issue. We looked at it as great exercise. However, it wasn’t ideal for my elderly father in law who has Trouble getting around. We had a great time and enjoyed the lake and the fishing. Oh and construction is going on all around and some noise was heard. Good place to stay if you are in need of exercise and good fishing!

Disc Golf Hall of Fame Admin Retreat
We were appreciative to find a place very close to the International Disc Golf Center. Our group was there to work and play. Although our group did not get to spend any daytime at the house, it was nice to return to our 'retreat' each night where we could refresh for the duties and events of the next day. On the last night of our stay we were able to return to the house for a family style dinner with our housemates from different places before we all went home.

Nice, clean, and comfortable home
My family and I enjoyed staying at this home. It was very comfortable, roomy, and nicely decorated. My husband loves the boat dock. When we make another trip to the lake, we are planning on staying at this home.

GREAT TIME WITH THE FAMILY....
The property was nicer than expected. The dock has deep clean water in a nice and quite cove. Very convenient to the mariner and to larger open waters. Beautiful lake... Loved every minute of our stay! We will book the property again.

Comfy cottage in view of lake
Good communication from the owners. Place is comfortable, and the owners are working to update it (nice new shower installed in master just before we arrived).
There were two new homes being built in properties adjoining this one, so if you are expecting a wooded retreat from looking at Google map pictures, then not so much. We were there in winter, and kind of rushed, so I can't comment on the dock. In winter, there is a view of the lake, but one of the construction lots is between the house and the lake, so I'm not sure how much view there will be once that is constructed.

Nice property with great access to the lake.
The property offered a lot of comfort. Large areas like the living and dining room. Kitchen was large and well stocked. The master bedroom was large and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. It rained the entire time so we were unable to enjoy the outside. But it looked very inviting and I am sure in the summer it would be very accommodating for a family vacation.

Quiet with a great location
I and 4 friends fished the Ga top 6 bass tournament in late March. The House was more than adequate for our needs. Great location near wildwood park and multiple boat ramps on Clark hill. The best appeal for us was the parking. We brought 3 boats and 3 trucks and had plenty of parking room without having to unhook the boats every night. The house itself is adequate Large master and 2 rooms with twin beds.Furniture and TVs were great. Only recommendation would be to give the house a little TLC. Garbage disposal didn’t work. Mirror for dresser in master was standing on the ground in front of dresser and needs some pictures on the wall to make it a little less plain. But for 5 guys on a fishing trip, it was great.
4.0 / 10.0
Underwhelming
While the house is technically adequate, it leaves a lot to be desired. Housewares (cups, plates, silver ware, etc.) are extremely cheap, the kitchen is almost non-functional and the living areas are small. The outside areas really need a refresh. This place is suitable if you are just looking for a no-frills rental.

Quiet and beautiful weekend on the lake.
Even though you have to walk down to the lake (you cannot really see it from the back of the house), it is very peaceful and quiet. A perfect getaway for the weekend when total relaxation is in order. My husband and I enjoyed the firepit, the dock, and the quiet setting of this cottage. We would have liked for the deck furniture to be nicer (although we could see where new furniture had been delivered, it was not unpacked and set up yet). The setting was so quiet. We enjoyed just relaxing and reconnecting and it was a real plus to be able to bring our dog with us. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to have an inexpensive, quiet and peaceful weekend with access to the lake. If you have a boat it would be a real plus. The owners were very nice and quick to respond when we wanted to add a night to our stay. I would definitely come back!

Nice quiet area, beautiful view of the lake
We wanted a quiet place to stay for the weekend for some much needed family time with our son who just graduated from basic training and is going to AIT at Fort Gordon.
This placed offered everything that we needed for our weekend away.
We had a wonderful time!
