The restaurant and food was really great, and the staff super friendly. The hotel is pretty big and spread over a large area and is beautifully and tastefully decorated. Very stylish
The wifi was awful in my room and also in the restaurant. Very low and kept dropping out. Also it is not that easy to move around especially with suitcases as the drive is all big gravel, you can't wheel anything you have to carry. Also my room was very hot and I couldn't see how to get it cooler as it was coming from the fixed rad in the bathroom. I think it is also a big shame that guest cannot use the spa unless they book a treatment! I never saw anyone in the spa so it's well underused and would be a reason I would book this hotel if I could use the sap. Now I know I can't I may not bother again given the wifi issues as I had work to do in the evening and couldn't even hotspot to my phone as the phone signal is also non-existent.

Amazing location, incredible grounds, pleasant staff.
Not worth the price, we paid £325 for one night. The room was small, lacked privacy, and basic. The bed was very close to the door where we could hear literally every minor noise in the hallway. It feels like a country hotel that has no character in its interior, the room was almost corporate and lacked that warm country feel. The payment also doesn’t give you access to the spa facilities, you have to book a treatment for that.

Lovely location by a flowing stream with some wildlife about. Nice outside area to relax by the stream. Clean tidy room.
Hotel was stifling due to warm weather. No air conditioning made it unbearable and what should have been a first rate night ended up a total letdown, you need to request a fan that turned out capable of giving Heathrow a run for it’s money on the decibel front! A near £300 bill for dinner for four with a £25 service charge put the final nail in the coffin. Food however, despite the cost, was first class with excellent staff service.

• Location & venue - nice English countryside, peaceful and green estate, harmonious atmosphere
• Outdoor options/activities
• Breakfast - good quality.
• Service - medium at best, for this price-point. In particular the older lady at the breakfast/dining area - not the best attitude, and this point of view is shared amongst several of our friends/guests.
• Rooms - very small, you would expect a little more space from a venue in the countryside.

Beautiful all round and the fire chimney on the patio was a personal favourite surprise feature!
This is only me being picky, Beer was a little on the expensive side and the breakfast menu could do with a couple more options

Beautiful location and unified style
Was difficult to find our room

The riverside location was beautiful and the buildings very attractive. Good facilities although a much better venue in summer rather than winter.
The staff seemed rather busy and could have been more engaging. It was fortunate that it was not raining as the accommodation and alternative pub restaurant were rather spread out, as was the parking. The breakfast tried to be too clever with some of the combinations not helpful.

The best thing was breakfast and amazing stuff at minstermill
See few bugs in both rooms and advance payment for facilities even paid full for rooms in advance

Beautiful location, have been here before, about 10yrs ago, it now has new owners, & the hotel has been completely refurbished, it's lovely.

The location was beautiful
The breakfast wasn’t included in the already expensive stay, then we’re told it was £25 per head we only wanted toast. The iron we were provided with ruined my husbands top because it had a black stain on it and the replacement iron was just as bad. When we notified the staff there wasn’t even an apology.

Nice location, nice venue
Closed on 2 days not obvious when booking

Property has amazing grounds, good range of activities and well located
Room below standard, spiders in the room, not very clean, walls very thin (can hear the next door neighbour quite well)
Tennis court does not have a proper hard court, balls bouncing all over the place
4.5
Peaceful location, great facilities! Would definitely recommend.
Rooms were quite warm as only small windows.

We stayed for our daughters wedding.
Stunning spot, great room, quality fittings & furnishings, great staff, great food.
Really really pleased.
Our rooms had a chiminea outside which our neighbours used - luckily our windows were shut otherwise our room would have been filled with smoke. Whilst a chiminea is nice, maybe a heater would be better outside rather than a log burner which produces loads of smoke.

Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Location and grounds were beautiful and the food was also to a very high standard. Would highly recommend whether it’s for a couples visit, family wedding or a quick stopover

very atmospheric and interesting with the archimedes screw. Good food and very relaxing environment.

Breakfast choice, the location of the hotel, the room, the sister across the road, very clean rooms. Great hotel for a romantic few days away
Temperature of the jacuzzi could have been warmer in the spa, cold water bottles available for those using the spa

Super comfortable bed and sumptuous pillows. Really nice breakfast. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. 10/10 for them.
The room was much smaller than anticipated and the TV was less than overwhelming both in size and quality. Although the toiletries were excellent, the tea and coffee making facilities were less so. Too much posh stuff and no 'normal' tea bags until the wonderful reception staff blagged me some from their own store. It's a nice hotel but I would say it doesn't warrant the cost.
3.5
The spa and pool, as well as the restaurant area
My room had stained carpet and a creaky door that you had pull hard to shut properly and one of the bedside lamps was broken

Location was perfect for visiting our family. The setting is fabulous and we would have enjoyed more in the summer. The pub next door was welcoming and served great food and drinks .
There is no lounge or sitting room area .
The spa was ok however the beds were very uncomfortable. we paid for an hour and a half and stayed half an hour.
The room was very small and the bathroom challenging given how small it was. The pressure on the shower was very weak and the tap handle kept falling off.

cosy break for a couple and lovely surroundings
price was high but for a luxury stay it delivered everything it promised

The views of the river were beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for the complimentary room upgrade. It made our trip to have the firepit next to our room and the river.

Lovely set up, the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful and there were nice little touches. Dog bed, treats and bowls provided, rooms cleaned daily and even teddy got tucked in! :)
The bathroom in the dog friendly room. It’s in need of a face lift and the enormous bath with low shower head (so you can’t stand in the shower without holding the head up) was quite bizarre. There’s more than enough room to have a normal shower/bath installed, confusing design.

Was beautiful setting but the room had no bedside lights working and no extract fan in bathroom. At night there was a smell of cigarette smoke which affected my cough. So didn’t sleep well. The design of the place was stunning and loved the atmosphere. One thing which could be added would be a light airy lounge where residents can read and relax. My elderly mother found the bar quite dark and not comfortable to read her paper. The bedroom was lovely but would have liked a bath even though the shower was powerful and slick design. Some magazines of the area and county would be a nice extra. It was nice but thought it was quite expensive for what we had.

The property location was very pretty
Cramped room. Very noisy corridor outside bedroom door with stone floor so very noisy when people walk past. Also path outside bedroom window so again noisy when people passed.
