Staff were amazing - so friendly and welcoming
Food was delicious
There was nothing I didn’t like about it
4.5
Restaurant was excellent both for breakfast and dinner. Location was ideal for seeing the Cotswolds and for visiting the Theatre in Stratford on Avon.
The only minor point was that the room although adequate size was not large enough for a couple of easy chairs to sit and watch TV/read the paper .That would have made it perfect!Good in all other respects

Nothing, it was fabulous

Breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked and tasty.Evening meal was perfectly cooked and generous.
Twin room was very small for two adults.

The inn is beautiful and the staff were all wonderful. I had to leave in the mornings before the main breakfast time, so the staff left a breakfast tray outside my room so I could eat before heading out. My dogs were made to feel very welcome and had their own bowls, towels and dog biscuits waiting in the room. I helped run a dog show nearby, so I just needed accommodation for the nights, but I'll definitely go back to explore the beautiful area and to relax at The Red Lion.

All food served was of an excellent standard with a great evening meals and a"die for" breakfast. The service & staff went above the norm to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

The Red Lion in Long Compton is that rare thing, a genuinely welcoming, brilliantly run gastropub which is also good value. The lovely staff went out of their way to make me feel at home after a long, foggy night-time drive, and my single room while small was perfectly formed, from a Roberts radio, quality coffee and good bedding to spotless power shower and Molton Brown toiletries. Breakfast was generous and delicious; dogs are catered for with homemade treats; there's an excellent and unusual range of non-alcoholic drinks for those extending dry January; and my only regret is that I arrived having already dined elsewhere. One of the managers, Jonathan, even bothered to arrange the postage of an item I had managed to leave behind - thank you Lisa and Jonathan for such helpful service. I look forward to my next visit.
My only quibble was with Booking.com's communication who sent a confusing answer to a request. Nothing to do with the Red Lion.

Beautiful property with well appointed, cosy rooms. Fantastic restaurant and staff.
Nothing! Unlike other guests, we had read that this was on a road and knew it might be a little noisier at night until traffic calmed.
