This home is absolutely beautiful and has many spaces to separate to if quiet is needed. The view is amazing and the home is well equipped for young ones as well as older ones. It is very spacious with so many things to do at the house but more importantly the season passes to Rumbling Bald Resort amenities was the icing on the cake! Hope to return again someday.

We celebrated our 50th Anniversary with our children and grandchildren in a lovely home that was just perfect for the 12 of us. House is well planned and equipped with everything needed for cooking big meals. Lots to do at the resort, at Lake Lure and nearby Chimney Rock. Vicky was very responsive to our questions. Our family stayed at Look Out Lodge for a wedding in Rumbling Bald resort. The home is spacious, clean and well appointed. The teens spent much time in the game room. We used the amazing fire pit twice and the super long smores sticks were a hit. We found the corn hole game under the deck, behind the swings. There was plenty of fire wood too.
We utilized the paddle boards and kayak twice also. Don't forget the access cards to get in to the lake area. We rented the golf cart that seats 6 and used it daily. Don't get me started about the decks. I had my coffee outside every morning on the sofa on the 1st (?) floor. The view from the decks was just gorgeous.
The parking is ample. But my only hesitation is to caution the renter that the driveway is very steep. Definitely for skilled/experienced drivers only. Luckily, there are two parking spaces at street level.
Vickie was a hands-on manager and responded immediately when contacted about a faulty ice maker. This was not a problem for our group, as we had bags of ice already, and also, there is a spare refrigerator in the game room, not to mention the wine fridge at the bar.
Another perk was the multiple cell phone charging stations provided in the living room and the upstairs quarters.
If we had need to be in the area again with our group, we would definitely stay at the Look Out Lodge again.

We are a group of friends - 5 couples. We searched VRBO and found many beautiful options but feel we hit the jackpot with this home! Our group is very well traveled and we rent homes together for long weekends. This house is so incredibly beautiful with the perfect layout for a group our size. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor space and gathering space. The hosts have thought of everything! The house is so well stocked, well organized and everything was labeled so we could quickly find and also return items to their correct space. The views were amazing and star gazing was phenomenal! Large spacious home but super cozy! Our host Vickie was so easy to communicate with and made sure we knew everything to make our stay pleasurable. Our group voted and this home as the best we have ever stayed in and we selfishly treat ourselves to the best when we travel! We plan on returning!

The house was clean with plenty of gathering space indoor and out. Having the club amenities close by with a gym, pool, hottub, putt putt etc was perfect for rainy days or when we didn’t go hiking. Cute shops nearby and a quick drive to Asheville for fun. We highly recommend this house for a stay with large families or a few couple just wanting to get away.

This was a wonderful property for families. There was so much space! We thoroughly enjoyed the porches. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need to cook big meals. Plenty of pots, pans, utensils, etc. We would like to come back in the summer so we could use the pool and other outdoor amenities. We had teenagers with us so they took advantage of having the loft to themselves as well as enjoying the pool table and other games. The host was very responsive to our questions and seemed to really want us to enjoy our time at the property.

Several of my friends from college (50 years ago) got together over the holidays and it was a great place to stay. The six bedrooms and 5 bathrooms make it very convenient. There are a lot of stairs in the house and getting into the house so if you have ambulatory problems, this is not the house for you. House is extremely well stocked, the view is beautiful, and the owner is very nice and easy to work with!

Lookout Lodge was everything we hoped for and more. It was perfectly clean and had plenty of room for our gathering.
The furnishings are comfortable and the decor is attractive. There was even a huge Christmas tree in the Gathering Room. The fireplace was fantastic, the beds weee comfortable, and the game room was a big hit with everyone.
Vickie was always responsive and helpful. All in all we could not have had a better experience.

We spent pre-Thanksgiving week at Lake Lure and the house was absolutely perfect for our family.
My wife and I were joined by our adult children, their spouses, and our grandchildren…in all, eight (8) adults and five (5) grandchildren, the oldest of which is 8-years! It was controlled mayhem but, it was wonderful, and the house lived up to all of our expectations…it actually exceeded our expectations!
Vickie is an amazing host, very communicative and very helpful throughout our pre-trip planning, during our stay, and after our departure.
We could tell immediately that the house has experienced the fun of entertaining, the joys of grandchildren and, completely out fitted for same!
The house looks great in the photos but in reality, it is even better!
Additional information…Ingles (in Lake Lure) is a short 15-minute drive from the house and is a full-service grocery store. We flew into Charlotte and drove up, stocked up at Ingles (right on the way) and headed to the house.
Important...a stay at the house comes with privileges at the Rumbling Bald Resort on the lake…access to Wellness Center, Tennis, Pickleball, putt-putt golf and so on! We also rented boats through the resort marina and spent an amazing day on the lake!
Cannot recommend this property highly enough…will definitely visit again...we would give it more than five-stars but the Site won't let us :)!

This was our second year to stay at this location for our annual golf ⛳️ outing to Lake Lure area. With 8 guys that have been doing this for 38 years this house has fit our needs for bedrooms as well as kitchen for cooking after a day on the golf course. Vickie is a great host making sure all is well during our stay. Can’t wait to book this place again for our 39th Annual Bogey Retreat.

Look Out Lodge was all it was advertised to be and more. Beautifully decorated and very well stocked for cooking. As it rained a good amount of our stay, we were able to keep busy with books, games, videos and more. Our host Vickie, was more than helpful to answer any questions we may have had. Our excursion proved highly beneficial for our infants, toddlers, and pre-teens, as the accommodations provided by the house seamlessly catered to the needs of all four families involved. The arrangement allowed us to enjoy both collective moments and individual spaces as required. The resort itself boasted a multitude of amenities, ranging from an inviting pool to a picturesque lakefront beach. For optimal convenience and reduced stress, we strongly recommend utilizing the golf cart to navigate the amenities during peak periods, thereby ensuring easier parking arrangements. To summarize, the combination of the splendid dwelling and the resort's offerings proved to be an impeccable choice for our expansive group.

We had an AMAZING time at Vicki's beautiful mountain home! My family rented the house to celebrate our parents' 40th anniversary, and this was a perfect spot. Though there were 10 adults and 3 kids (all under 5years old), we never felt like we were tripping over each other, and everyone had their own bed to sleep in. However, there was also ample space for all of us to be together! The home is stunning in and of itself, and then you add on the view of the mountains and it feels just lovely. We even had some deer visit us one morning. Additionally, we enjoyed many of the Rumbling Bald amenities; both golf courses, the outdoor pools and the beach/playground. We rented a boat from a nearby marina and enjoyed a day on the water. We loved hiking nearby Chimney Rock and exploring the village there too (about a 20-25 minute drive). Vicki is such a gracious host and ensured we had all we needed to make this weekend comfortable and fun. I think we all fell a little in love with Lake Lure and have a feeling we will be back! Thank you for a trip for the memory books!

We were visiting for a wedding. While we were not able to enjoy all of the games/amenities, we thoroughly enjoyed the house. There was everything you could need, and it was all well marked. Beds were comfortable. Great spaces to hang out with family.
My only complaint would be that we had to haul all of our trash to a dumpster. It was raining and this was messy. For the price, I feel like the cleaning service should have done this for us. Just a small drawback.

The property was great. Beautiful views, well stocked. Owner was easy to reach and gave excellent info about the lodge and surrounding area. The lake level was extremely low and unavailable for use of khakis and paddle boards, which was a disappointment. Several of the resort amenities were not open for the season and unavailable. We would definitely go back when "in season" so as to be able to access the full use of water toys and outdoor pool area. The lodge is perfect for family gatherings.

A group of my college friends get together for New Year's. This is the second year we have stayed here. The house is beautiful with a beautiful view. It was spacious and very well kept. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen in any house we have ever rented. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return!

This was absolutely incredible property for my family from both coasts to gather for the holidays! It was perfect for everyone, from young child up through the grandparents. There was plenty to do for all the teenagers, and everyone felt very welcomed and comfortable during the entire stay. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

We love it here. There's room for us all to be together (8 adults, 1 child) and there's room for privacy. So many activities in and around the home, and when we get bored, we head out to the resort and nearby attractions. It's clean and well organized. With two dishwashers, we are never stuck with a sink full of dishes. And the coffee/wine bar is awesome! Everyone enjoys the game room and the fire pit, as well.
