Beautiful home with lots of room for everyone to spread out, fantastic location, very responsive host.

Gwen's lakefront cabin was perfect for our annual family vacation. Our family has grown to the point of needing 6 bedrooms and this number of rooms is a hard find. The cabin was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and the views of the lake were amazing.

Truly a piece of paradise on lake lure!

Beautiful property for our family vacation. Our children and grandchildren all had plenty of space to spread out. We spent most of our time on the boathouse rooftop and jumping off of it into the lake! We also used the floatables and kayaks (life jackets available) for exploring and hanging out in the water.
The beds were super comfy, superior to most rentals. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/plates etc. We only ate dinner out once I believe. We preferred to eat at home with those beautiful lake views off the deck.
Gwen was a pleasure to work with!
Thx for sharing your hard me with us!

Perfect location on the lake! House is beautiful and accommodated our large group easily. Host replied quickly to all messages. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for sharing your home!

Great place for our family to get away and spend time together. Plenty of room for everyone, great location on the lake and plenty to do for all ages. Would stay again.

We were extremely happy with our stay, the views were breathtaking. The host, Gwen, was extremely accommodating when we had to reschedule last minute due to me having a pregnancy complication and quickly responded whenever I had any questions. The house was very clean and spacious. We really appreciated the washer and dryers. We all had a lot of laughs during our stay and made a ton of new memories. The distance to town was not bad at all with a lot of fun activities. The lake itself was beautiful and very quiet when we were there. We also really enjoyed seeing the woodchucks and beavers! We absolutely would stay here again ◡̈

Had a good time at this location on the lake . The fire pit by the lake is the best part .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house

We rented this unit with other family members. The house is beautiful however to many problems. Unfortunately we have rented through VRBO for years and we pick a house that I really wish we didn’t now. Owner is a sweet woman but unfortunately I do not feel she has been honest with us about the Terminex.
1. The house was very dusty.
2. The Dish washer was flashing while washing and having an electrical smell.
3. Toaster and the Hand held mixed was broken.
4. They definitely need a new coffee maker and they should 2 total.
5. The dust on the fans and towel.. gross. You didn’t know until after you took a shower.
“ obviously who ever is cleaning this home really isn’t doing a good job.
6. The couch is covered in food/dirt inside it. Also extremely dirty.
7. Blue chair is broke.
8. First master bedroom ( mattress has been peed on more then once.
9. The king bed frame in the basement ( 2nd master ) is broken.
10. The queen bedroom mattress and base was coved in bed bugs. The bunk bed room also had them. We found out about the bed bugs when taking all the bedding off as it’s a list of cleaning things to do. 4 family members had bites on them.
11. Porch outside - is shaking Do not push or lay on the banister outside.
12. Not enough towels for showers.
13. You will need to bring kitchen towels.
14. *** if you do not like driving on hills, steep driveways. Then this isn’t for U
We paid a “ LOT FOR THIS HOUSE FOR ONE WEEK “ She is taking Bed Bugs Seriously. VRBO know

We had a wonderful time staying on the perfect point of Lake Lure in this home. It was perfectly set up that we could put the baby to bed early in the upstairs loft and still be downstairs in the basement family room have a great time together.

This was a great stay. House is well laid out. Room for 6 cars in driveway. Stairs to boathouse and pontoon were not bad at all. Great fun jumping off boathouse deck and swimming in the water. Very convenient to rent the pontoon as you don’t have to worry about bringing it back to the marina by 5:00 pm every day. Master bedroom and the bedroom beneath it in the basement level were the most spacious. It gets warm in the house at times but using the ceiling fans helps greatly. The boys caught about 10 bass. Had a campfire one night and plenty of room for everyone. A gem of a location on a private point on the lake.

Went with our four adult children and their significant others (10 adults). The house is beautifully sited and outfitted. Especially fun were the boathouse roof deck and the fire pit. Wildlife encounters (otter, deer, turkeys and other birds, and huge snapping turtle) were amazing. We had no problem cooking, seating, and serving for 10 adults. Would have been perfect except for the hazardous dock, some broken furniture, unusable (fire hazard) grill, and missing pedal boat.

We had 14 total, 3 families plus grandparents, who joined us for a long weekend in Lake Lure! The house was perfect! Room for everyone to stay, activities to keep everyone busy, and room to gather and enjoy! Very special place to visit!

We stayed at this beautiful home and had a wonderful time. Gwen the owner was super helpful and quick to answer any questions/address any concerns. The property is large enough to hold our family which was 7 adults and 5 kids. Slightly remote which in our mind was a positive

We had a wonderful vacation at this amazing house. There was plenty of space for our family of 13 to enjoy. The bedrooms were very comfortable as was every part of the house. We rented the pontoon and had many hours of fun out in the lake. The kids loved jumping off the boathouse and so did some of the adults. Easy directions for checking in and out and the owners were very responsive. Would definitely come back.

We had been to lake lure many times. This was our first time at “the nest”. Great home accommodated 12 adults comfortably. It was a perfect location with a long view to the largest part of the lake. The photo’s were very accurate and Gwen “the host” was very responsive and sweet.

Our 50th anniversary was approaching and I wanted it to be a family celebration. Looking for a destination that would be an easy drive for all, I chose the Lake Lure area. 6 adults and 6 grandchildren would need a large space and this house was perfect! Fortunately the weather was cooperative and the kids didn’t mind the chilly water temperature! It was a lovely celebration in a beautiful location!

Absolutely gorgeous house. Plenty of space for the 9 adults we had. Boat dock roof was the highlight of this trip as we spent many hours jumping into the water from it. Beautiful view of the lake from both balconies. Secluded spot with lots of privacy and space from other neighbors. Literally the only critique I have is that the indoor lighting isn’t the greatest. That’s the biggest complaint I could come up with and that’s how great this gem is. Worth every penny

Beautiful house and location. Well maintained. Great communicate from hosts. The main room was a great size for everyone to hang out in at the same time. Would stay here again.

This was an amazing property! It’s offerings were spot on for our family of different interests. It’s location is also amazing, far enough from the hustle and bustle but not too far to go out and sightsee.

My extended family stayed the weekend and everyone loved it here, especially the views.

They let us check in early and it is great help since our children flied red eye from different states. Really appreciate the flexibility from the owner.

This spot did not disappoint. We had two 7 year olds and a 5 year old, and we kept them busy the whole time. Between Chimney Rock, but also just the kayaking and paddle boarding around the house, there was no shortage of fun. The house was more than ample for our needs, and the kitchen was perfect to make our own meals the whole weekend. Really really great spot.

Every year our group comes together for a long weekend at Lake Lure. We have stayed in several different homes in the area, but finally feel like we have found our zen spot. Gwen was fabulous to communicate with, check in was easy and the house was fabulous. Everything appears to be so well thought out. The house is well appointed, but not so over dressed with personal items that you feel like you are in someone else's home. The linens are lovely, right down to the throw on the back of the couch. The game room is well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need and the boathouse is filled with water toys that kept our young teens busy all day. Insider tip: If you're on the fence - rent the boat. It truly completes the package! Thank you, Gwen. We look forward to next year already!

This home was perfect for our girls' getaway -- plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, nicely equipped kitchen, lots of interior and exterior spaces for hanging out. The view of Lake Lure is stunning!

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Lake Lure. The house was well equipped and provided more than enough room for our two families of 4.
Similar to most of the houses at Lake Lure, you most climb a lot of steps to get from the lake to the house and then even more steps in the house to get to the main living area…but if steps aren’t a problem you will be very pleased with this house.
The great room gives you a fantastic view over a good portion of the lake…a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee! And the lakeside fire pit is the perfect place to end your day laughing and telling stories.

Great house! Great location! Great time!

Our family of 14, ages 4 to 77, had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house on the lake. The views from the house are stunning, so the older folks were fine just staying on the main floor. We reacted the boat, which was a bit pricey but worked very well and was a lot of fun. Lake Lure is a small, private lake, and had far less boat traffic than we are accustomed to on the big lakes in GA. The mountains surrounding the lake are gorgeous and the water is clean and refreshing, whether you swim off the boat or jump off the boathouse deck (which the teens happily did hundreds of times). The house itself is very nice but if I had a wish list, it would include a better dishwasher, a second refrigerator for the basement level, and larger beds wherever possible. The couples who got full size beds weren’t thrilled, but at least they got their own bathroom. My wife and I had the basement king bed, a trade off for sharing a bathroom with 8 people. But back to the good stuff… the little towns on the west and south ends of the lake were cute, and we enjoyed meals at the brewery and River Watch, which had good live acoustic guitar on the weekend. Overall the best house & location since we started doing these extended family trips 15 years ago. I bet we’ll be back!

Family mountain trip
This was a beautiful house with lots of indoor space. The furniture and beds were very comfortable. The lakeside area was fabulous for swimming and floating. We rented the boat and really enjoyed boating every day. The view was beautiful and we loved sitting on the decks in the morning and enjoyed watching the moon and stars at night. Fabulous area !!

This was a gorgeous house and a beautiful setting. There were a few issues with the house due to sooo many renters and wear and tear but the owner was responsive and offered help. You can't beat this spot, the view and everything else the house offers. We have Wonderful memories from this home! I highly recommend.

Beautiful Location & Home
Twelve friends traveled to Lake Lure to celebrate a 40th birthday. We all had a great time and beautiful weather. The town of Lake Lure is very quaint and so welcoming. The home was spacious and had plenty of room for us all.

Best views of the Lake
The host is very responsive and friendly. The check in and check out instructions were easy to follow. The outdoor areas including the balcony, fire pit and dock have the most amazing views! The great room was gorgeous with clean, updated sofas and chairs and we loved the lighting. The kitchen needs a big refresh! The dishwasher needs to be replaced because it doesn’t clean well at all. The kitchen table is glass so it is difficult to keep clean plus it is outdated. The kitchen didn’t feel clean for some reason. The beds could use new comforters/blankets. The bathrooms were big and very clean. We had 11 people in our group and the interior still felt roomy and open. Nice big TVs too.
The outdoor space is amazing! Being able to rent the pontoon was so convenient too. The kids loved jumping off of the boat house and the adults loved wading in the water.
We think this is the best location on Lake Lure and a gorgeous house!

So, with 90% of the family gathered in one place for a week of swimming, sunning, eating, boating and seeing bears, deer and turkeys we all can only say that we had a GREAT time.
