This cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. I stayed there for 4 nights while attending a music camp in the area. It was a great place to unwind after a busy day; quiet and peaceful, and I slept great. I want to come back next year for a longer stay.

This rental transported us to visits to grandparents’s…easy to make yourself at home, practical, curios stashed in corners, a little smelly. The checkin process was straightforward. Gerry stopped by to work on something in the garage during our stay.

Cottage was nestled in the woods overlooking the mountains. The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed. The host was very responsive to our needs when the gas grill would not light.

We rented Highland Cottage from June through October 2022. It is a lovely spot, nestled on the edge of a forest and on property that houses an amazing 1794 Farmhouse. The cottage is tucked away on a winding country road with views to the foothills of the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Deer seen often and in the fall.....lots of wild turkeys....a peaceful retreat. Located next door to the Lake Country of Maine, the area has abundant access to water for swimming, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, etc. Beautiful hiking trails are abundant. There is quick and easy access to main roads and highways that lead to all the treasures of a New England visit. Bernadette and Gerry are the Best Hosts ever! Attentive and super quick communicators, they are truly gracious hosts. They attend to any need(s) immediately, yet are so respectful of guests' privacy needs. My husband and I really can't give enough accolades to them! Wonderful people....you won't meet better! The place was super clean, neat and welcoming. Enjoy a special visit here! Thank you, Bernadette and Gerry!

We found this property situated in a quiet neighborhood. The next door neighbor came out to greet us upon our arrival. Location was great for the local attractions of hiking and of course eating. We recommend it highly.

This basic, peaceful cottage is located off the beaten track, yet within driving distance of conveniences and services. It's compact but comfortable; some fixtures are older, but everything works fine. Jerry thoughtfully provided a few extra things he knew we'd need. We enjoyed day trips to a number of scenic destinations and would recommend this place for a couple or small family.

Our visit of 18 days was outstanding in every respect. The cottage is conveniently located near Cornish, ME which is handy for food shopping, drug stores and good restaurants. We used the cottage as a base for wide-ranging side trips to Kennebunkport, the Freyburg Fair, Freeport (for L. L. Bean), Windham, and North Conway, NH, the gateway to the White Mountains, among other places of interest. Our dog was welcome and we arrived at the height of the fall foliage season. The trees were magnificent and the views as we drove about were spectacular. The cottage is well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen with a large refrigerator, gas stove, a microwave, toaster oven and a full complement of pots, pans and utensils. It has a delightful propane fireplace handy for cool nights, and (wonder of wonders for a vacation rental) a full size washer and dryer. It was in "move in" condition. All we needed were groceries. The radio/CD player was welcome as was the color TV which received the two stations available very well. There are handy electrical sockets throughout. This is a laid-back vacation experience. Don't expect WiFi. We solved that problem by accessing hot spots at local libraries and the nearby University of Southern Maine library when we absolutely had to have access. Our hosts, Bernie and Gerry, were very available to answer questions or make suggestions for local places to see or things to do. This had to be one of our most relaxing and pleasant vacation experiences. We recommend this vacation rental very highly. We would love to come back.
